We demonstrate the possibility of dual-band unidirectional reflectionlessness in a non-Hermitian quantum system composed of a plasmonic waveguide and two end-coupled plasmonic cavities(PCs).Our scheme exhibits dual-band unidirectional reflectionlessness can be obtained at exceptional points by properly adjusting the coupling strength between two PCs,the ratio of decay rates of two PCs,and the ratio of plasmonic cavity-waveguide coupling strengths.As a valuable feature,the quality factor reaches to~175.4 in forward direction,while the backward quality factor is close to~188.2. 展开更多

High-selectivity common-mode(CM)and differential-mode(DM)reflectionless balanced bandpass filters(BBPFs)are proposed in this article.By loading absorption networks at single/both ends of the basic ring resonator,input-/two-port wideband CM and DM reflectionless performance,wideband filtering performance and all-stop CM suppression are obtained.The absorption network composed of K-sections of coupled-lines(CLs)terminated with grounded resistors can not only extend the filtering performance to high order,but also realize wideband absorption of CM noise and out-of-band DM signals.Absorptive stubs are loaded at ports to increase the design flexibility and enhance the absorption.As for the input-reflectionless type,multiple independently controlled transmission zeros(TZs)are obtained by the TZ control network to improves the selectivity and out-of-band rejection.A set of 2 GHz micro-strip BBPFs are designed and measured,which shows simultaneous CM and DM absorption performance. 展开更多

In this article,a single-layer symmetrical full-port quasi-absorptive filtering phase shifter is presented.The proposed phase shifter is composed of a main quasi-absorptive filtering branch,a reference quasi-absorptive filtering branch,and two delay lines.The proposed phase shifter achieves both phase controlling function and quasi-absorptive filtering function for the first time.Each quasi-absorptive filtering branch can realize the quasi-absorptive filtering function.Meanwhile,the constant phase shift can be obtained by combining the two quasi-absorptive filtering branches and the two delay lines.The design formulas can be derived from the even-and odd-mode network analysis,and then two quasi-absorptive filtering phase shifters can be devised easily and quickly.For verification,a 90°quasi-absorptive filtering phase shifter,which is critical for circularly polarized antenna systems,is simulated,manufactured,and measured. 展开更多

Transmission time in the reflectionless complex potential

A phase time definition directly obtained from the Schr6dinger equation is used to investigate the time delay of a particle scattered by complex reflectionless potential. The artifacts introduced by truncating in the numerical simulation are clarified. The time delay of the transmitted wave packet is found to be equal to the reflection time of the truncated potential. Both time delays are the same as the traversal time in the free space, but shorter than the time taken by a classical particle to pass the same potential. 展开更多

In the work, we propose an approach to “smart design” of heterostructures (quantum wells and superlattices) based on the combination of Inverse Scattering Problem Method and the direct solution of the eigenvalue problem for the Schr?dinger equation with reconstructed potentials. Potential shape reconstructed in this way can be substituted then by some approximation, so that the output spectrum obtained by solving the Schr?dinger equation with such approximated potential, differs only slightly from the input one. In our opinion, the approach can be used in many applications, for instance, for developing the new electronic devices such as tunable THz detectors. 展开更多
