A numerical method of statistical pattern recognition is proposed in this paper. Different from the discriminatory analysis method currently used in the mathemalic statistics, it is unnecessary to assume that the predictand should be subject to a certain distribution. On the contrary, the statistical relationship between predictand and predictor has been obtained directly with computer according to actual distribution to recognize the category of patterns. Result of forecast has been improved as compared with the usual analytic discriminatory method. The influence of predictor on predictand can be seen clearly from this method and the transparency is good. Therefore, it is better to use the method in very short range forecast for which causality is more obvious. 展开更多

Based on the data base of 1285 mineral deposits of 22 commodities in 121 countries of 6 continents of the world, the authors use the linear trend analysis for their reserves to determine the cut-off limited order of reserves to select 36 exceptional superlarge (as peak mineral), 95 superlarge and 314 large deposits as new recognized intellect for their quantitative change. We have projected above 445 large-superlarge deposits on (1:5 M) global tectonic background map and divided 4 metallogenic domains, 21 metallogenic belts. Global metallogeny of large-superlarge deposits are: unity by endogenic, exogenic metamorphic and epigenetic in origin; speciality in different metallogenic domains and belts; preferentiality to ore-forming elements of Cu, Au, Fe, Ag, Cr, Mn, Zn, Pb, Sb, Hg, to continental margins or plate convergent belts, to Intra-continental tectono-magmatic complex belts and Large ductile shear zones; abnormality by the global oxyatmversion (excess oxygen atmospheric event) in Archean, redoxyatmversion (lack oxygen atmospheric event) in Proterozoic-Paleozoic, and tectonosphere thermal erosion (great amount of tectonic magmatic event) in Mesozoic-Cenozoic. 展开更多

The histopathological features of the globoid dysplasia of the human gastric epithelium were described in detail and in series by means of observation of serial sections of 61 cases with globoid dys-plasias. Three grades were divided according to the architectural and cellular atypia of the globoid dys-plasias. The penetration of outer layer globoid dys-plastic cells through the basement membrane of 'the structure of double layers' appeared in typical globoid dysplasia grade II and the infiltration of the globoid dysplastic cells into stroma as well as the formation of incipient focus of signet ring cell carcinoma were described. The twinkling scene of the infiltration of the globoid dysplastic cells into lamina propria through the basement membrane, and the destroying of the basement membrane by the globoid dysplastic cells were shown by means of Gordon Sweet's staining. Through the analysis as for the distribution characteristics of ages and sexes in 61 globoid dysplasia cases and 51 signet ring cell carcinomas, a fact was discovered that the mobility of female cases was ten years prior to that of male ones in average. A conclusion could be made that the globoid dysplasia might be an important precan-cerous lesion of the signet ring cell carcinoma of the stomach. 展开更多

Two pairs of amino-acid functionalized poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(PEDOT) derivatives, namely, poly(N-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)-L-methionyl(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene-2'-yl)methylamide)(L-PEDOT-Boc-Met) and poly(N-(tertbutoxycarbonyl)-D-methionyl(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene-2'-yl)methylamide)(D-PEDOT-Boc-Met); poly(L-methionyl(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene-2'-yl)methylamide)(L-PEDOT-Met) and poly(D-methionyl(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene-2'-yl)methylamide)(D-PEDOT-Met) were synthesized via chemical oxidative polymerization of corresponding monomers. The structural characterization, spectroscopic properties and thermal stability of these monomers and polymers were systematically explored by FTIR spectra, Raman spectra, XRD spectra, UV-Vis spectra and thermogravimetric analysis. As chiral electrode materials, these polymers were employed to successfully recognize 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine(DOPA) enantiomers by cyclic voltammetry(CV) in sulphuric acid solution. The measurement results reveal that the tendency was hetero-chiral interaction between L-PEDOT-Met/PVA/GCE and D-DOPA, D-PEDOT-Met/PVA/GCE and L-DOPA, respectively. Also, the mechanism of chiral discrimination was discussed. All the results implied that the combination of electrochemical molecular recognition technology and chiral PEDOT materials can be a promising approach for chiral recognition and may open new opportunities for facile, biocompatible, sensitive and robust chiral assays in biochemical applications. 展开更多

In commanding decision-making, the commander usually needs to know a lot of situations(intelligence) on the adversary. Because of the military intelligence with opposability, it is inevitable that intelligence personnel take some deceptive information released by the rival as intelligence data in the process of intelligence gathering. Since the failure of intelligence is likely to lead to a serious aftereffect, the recognition of intelligence is a very important problem. An elementary research on recognizing military intelligence and puts forward a systematic processing method are made. First, the types and characteristics of military intelligence are briefly discussed, a research thought of recognizing military intelligence by means of recognizing military hypotheses are presented. Next, the reasoning mode and framework for recognizing military hypotheses are presented from the angle of psychology of intelligence analysis and non-monotonic reasoning. Then, a model for recognizing military hypothesis is built on the basis of fuzzy judgement information given by intelligence analysts. A calculative example shows that the model has the characteristics of simple calculation and good maneuverability. Last, the methods that selecting the most likely hypothesis from the survival hypotheses via final recognition are discussed. 展开更多

A new approach to detecting ocean eddies automatically from remote sensing imageries based on the ocean eddy's eigen-pattern in remote sensing imagery and "force field-based shape extracting method" is proposed. First, the analysis on extracting eddies' edges from remote sensing imagery using conventional edge detection arithmetic operators is performed and returns digitized vector edge data as a result. Second, attraction forces and fusion forces between edge curves were analyzed and calculated based on the vector eddy edges. Thirdly, the virtual significant spatial patterns of eddy were detected automatically using iterative repetition followed by optimized rule. Finally, the spatial form auto-detection of different types of ocean eddies was done using satellite images. The study verified that this is an effective way to identify and detect the ocean eddy with a complex form. 展开更多

The application of clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)and CRISPR-associated proteins(Cas)can be limited due to a lack of compatible protospacer adjacent motif(PAM)sequences in the DNA regions of interest.Recently,SpRY,a variant of Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9(SpCas9),was reported,which nearly completely fulfils the PAM requirement.Meanwhile,PAMs for Sp RY have not been well addressed.In our previous study,we developed the PAM Definition by Observable Sequence Excision(PAM-DOSE)and green fluorescent protein(GFP)-reporter systems to study PAMs in human cells.Herein,we endeavored to identify the PAMs of SpRY with these two methods.The results indicated that 5’-NRN-3’,5’-NTA-3’,and 5’-NCK-3’could be considered as canonical PAMs.5’-NCA-3’and 5’-NTK-3’may serve as non-priority PAMs.At the same time,PAM of 5’-NYC-3’is not recommended for human cells.These findings provide further insights into the application of SpRY for human genome editing. 展开更多

However, we do not know th... <p align="justify"> <strong>Background</strong><strong>:</strong> Alzheimer’s sufferers (AS) are unable to visually recognize facial emotions (VRFE). However, we do not know the kind of emotions involved, the timeline for the onset of this loss of ability to recognize facial emotional expressions during the natural course of this disease and the existence of any correlation with other comorbid cognitive disorders. For that reason, the authors aimed to determine whether a deficit in facial emotion recognition is present at the onset of Alzheimer disease, distinctly and concurrently with the onset of cognitive impairment or is it a prodromal syndrome of Alzheimer’s Disease before the onset of cognitive decline and what emotions are involved. A secondary aim was to investigate relationships between facial emotion recognition and cognitive performance on various parameters. <strong>Method:</strong> Single Blind Case-control study. Setting in Memory clinic. <strong><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Participants: </span></strong>12 patients, (AS) and 12 control subjects (CS) were enrolled. <strong>Measurements: </strong>Quantitative information about the ability for facial emotion recognition was obtained from Method of Analysis and Research on the Integration of Emotions (MARIE). The Mini Mental Status Examination (MMSE), the Picture Naming, the Mattis Dementia Rating Scale (DRS), and the Grober & Buschke Free and Cued Selective Reminding Test (FCSRT) tests were used to measure cognitive impairment. <strong>Results:</strong> We note that the AS have a problem with the visual recognition of facial emotions with existence of a higher threshold for visual recognition. The AS is less sensitive to the visual recognition cues of facial emotions. AS is unable to distinguish anger from fear. It would be a possible explanation for some acts of aggressiveness seen in the clinical and home setting demonstrated by “<i>AS with behavioral disturbance</i>”. The anger-fear series was found to be the first affected in the course of Alzheimer’s. The appearance of the curve is sigmoid for the control group and linear for the Alzheimer’s patients with a cognitive distortion when the VRFE is represented graphically with percentage of correct recognition plotted on the “y” axis and the selected images presented as stimulus with measures of density of emotion plotted on the “x” axis. In both groups, it is intuitively and theoretically expected that correct recognition will be directly proportional to the density of represented emotion in the stimulus image. This hypothesis is true for CS but not so for AS. The MARIE (<i>see below</i>) processing of emotions seems to be strengthened by the optimal cognitive functions showing the hypothesis applies to CS but not uniformly in AS. This anomaly in the AS is evidenced by the decline of the cognitive functions contributing to abovementioned “linearization” in the graphic representation. There is a direct positive correlation between the results of MARIE and the performance on cognitive tests. <strong>Conclusion: </strong>The administration of a combination of DRS, FCSRT, and MARIE to patients screened for possibly emerging Alzheimer’s could provide a more detailed and specific approach to make a definitive early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s. The Alzheimer’s patients found it difficult to distinguish between anger and fear. </p> 展开更多
