Vehicles, as the most important means of transportation, its exhaust emission has received considerable attention. The catalytic converter is able to purify harmful substances in exhaust gas. The absolute content of precious metals in the catalytic converter dominates the exhaust gas purification effect. Accurate detection of precious metal content is of great significance for controlling the cost of catalysts, ensuring catalytic performance and recovering precious metals from spent catalysts. We herein summarized several instruments for precious metals content exploration, such as X-ray fluorescence spectrometer (XRF), atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS), inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometer (ICP) and spectrophotometer. In this thesis, the feasibility of using various devices for characterizing precious metal content in catalytic converters is analyzed and their strengths or weaknesses are elaborated.展开更多

A new criterion based on modified mode participation(MMP) for choosing the best excitation point is presented. Comparison between this new criterion and mode participation(MP) criterion is made by using Case 1 with a simple printed circuit board(PCB). The result indicates that this new criterion produces better results. In Case 2, 35 measurement points are selected to perform modal test and correlation analysis while 9 selected in Case 3.System equivalent reduction expansion process(SEREP), modal assurance criteria(MAC), coordinate modal assurance criteria(CoMAC), pseudo orthogonality check(POC) and coordinate orthogonality check(CORTHOG) are used to show the error introduced by modal test in Cases 2 and 3. Case 2 shows that additional errors which cannot be identified by using CoMAC can be found by using CORTHOG.In both Cases 2 and 3, Guyan reduction, improved reduced system(IRS) method, SEREP and Hybrid reduction are compared for accuracy and robustness. The results suggest that the quality of the reduction process is problem dependent. However, the IRS method is an improvement over the Guyan reduction, and the Hybrid reduction is an improvement over the SEREP reduction.展开更多

文摘This study aims to examine the usability of environmentally harmless vegetable oil in the minimum quantity of lubrication(MQL)system in face milling of AISI O2 steel and to optimize the cutting parameters by different statistical methods.Vegetable oil was preferred as cutting fluid, and Taguchi method was used in the preparation of the test pattern. After testing with the prepared test pattern, cutting performance in all parameters has been improved according to dry conditions thanks to the MQL system. The highest tool life was obtained by using cutting parameters of 7.5 m cutting length,100 m/min cutting speed,100 mL/h MQL flow rate and 0.1 mm/tooth feed rate.Optimum cutting parameters were determined according to the Taguchi analysis, and the obtained parameters were confirmed with the verification tests. In addition, the optimum test parameter was determined by applying the gray relational analysis method. After using ANOVA analysis according to the measured surface roughness and cutting force values, the most effective cutting parameter was observed to be the feed rate.In addition, the models for surface roughness and cutting force values were obtained with precisions of 99.63%and 99.68%,respectively.Effective wear mechanisms were found to be abrasion and adhesion.

文摘The response displacement method(RDM)is recommended for the seismic analysis of underground structures in the transverse direction for many codes, including bases for design of structures-seismic actions for designing geotechnical works(ISO 23469)and code for seismic design of urban rail transit structures(GB 50909-2014).However,there are some obvious limitations in the application of RDM.Springs and the shear stress of the soil could be approximately evaluated for the structures having a simple cross section, such as rectangular and circular structures. It is necessary to propose simplified seismic analysis methods for structures with complex cross sections. This paper refers to the idea of RDM and proposes three generalized response displacement methods(GRDM).In GRDM1,a part of the soil surrounding a structure is selected to generate a generalized underground structure with a rectangular cross section, and the same analysis model as RDM is applied to analyze the responses of the structure. In GRDM2,a hollow soil model without a generalized structure is used to compute the equivalent load caused by the relative displacement of the soil, and the soil-structure interaction model is applied to calculate the responses of the structure. In GRDM3,a continuous soil model is applied to compute the equivalent load caused by the relative displacement and shear stress of the soil, and the soil-structure interaction model is applied to analyze the responses of the structure, which is the same as the model used in GRDM2.The time-history analysis method(THAM)is used to evaluate the accuracy of the proposed simplified methods. Results show that the error of GRDM1 is about 20%,while the error is only 5%for GRDM2 and GRDM3.Among the three proposed methods,GRDM3 has obvious advantages regarding calculation efficiency and accuracy. Therefore,it is recommended to use GRDM3 for the seismic response analysis of underground structures that have conventional simple or complex cross sections.

文摘The paper applied the isogeometric boundary element method(IGABEM)to thermoelastic problems. The Non-Uniform Rational B-splines(NURBS)used to construct geometric models are employed to discretize the boundary integral formulation of the governing equation.Due to the existence of thermal stress, the domain integral term appears in the boundary integral equation. We resolve this problem by incorporating radial integration method into IGABEM which converts the domain integral to the boundary integral. In this way,IGABEM can maintain its advantages in dimensionality reduction and more importantly, seamless integration of CAD and numerical analysis based on boundary representation. The algorithm is verified by numerical examples.
文摘Deformation modulus of rock mass is one of the input parameters to most rock engineering designs and constructions. The field tests for determination of deformation modulus are cumbersome, expensive and time-consuming.This has prompted the development of various regression equations to estimate deformation modulus from results of rock mass classifications, with rock mass rating(RMR)being one of the frequently used classifications. The regression equations are of different types ranging from linear to nonlinear functions like power and exponential.Bayesian method has recently been developed to incorporate regression equations into a Bayesian framework to provide better estimates of geotechnical properties. The question of whether Bayesian method improves the estimation of geotechnical properties in all circumstances remains open. Therefore,a comparative study was conducted to assess the performances of regression and Bayesian methods when they are used to characterize deformation modulus from the same set of RMR data obtained from two project sites. The study also investigated the performance of different types of regression equations in estimation of the deformation modulus.Statistics, probability distributions and prediction indicators were used to assess the performances of regression and Bayesian methods and different types of regression equations. It was found that power and exponential types of regression equations provide a better estimate than linear regression equations. In addition,it was discovered that the ability of the Bayesian method to provide better estimates of deformation modulus than regression method depends on the quality and quantity of input data as well as the type of the regression equation.
文摘Discontinuous deformation analysis(DDA)has been widely applied for the simulation of block systems that have many discontinuous surfaces. The penalty method is utilized to ensure that there are no penetrations between blocks.A linear polynomial function for displacement leads to a constant stress for a block, which cannot precisely describe the stress field within the block. Therefore,a high-order polynomial displacement function and a flue mesh are always used to improve the precision of the stress field. However, these means are not practical for simulating block systems that have many contacts. In this paper, the contact-stress-based stress recovery methods are proposed for DDA.High-precision solutions for the contact stresses on the boundaries of the blocks are utilized. The first-order Gaussian point of a block is the block's centroid, where the constant stress obtained via DDA is of higher precision. The high-precision solutions for the stresses are utilized in the least squares method to recover a single block's inner stress field. The proposed methods enhance the resolution of the stress field inside a single block without increasing the computational effort in the main iterative process for displacement in DDA.Numerical examples are simulated using both the finite element method(FEM)with a fine mesh and the proposed DDA program. The recovered DDA results can accurately describe the distribution of the stresses in a single block and,in some areas, have the same precision as the FEM results. Moreover, the precision of the proposed methods improves as the gradient of the contact stress on the boundary decreases.
文摘With the increasing awareness of environmental protection, people’s concern of pollution issues arising. In this thesis, the feasibility of using various devices for characterizing precious metal content in catalytic converters is analyzed and their strengths or weaknesses are elaborated.

文摘This paper proposes a sensitivity analysis method for engineering parameters using interval analyses. This method substantially extends the application of interval analysis method. In this scheme, parameter intervals and decision-making target intervals are determined using the interval analysis method. As an example,an inverse analysis method for uncertainty is presented. The intervals of unknown parameters can be obtained by sampling measured data.Even for limited measured data, robust results can also be obtained with the inverse analysis method, which can be intuitively evaluated by the uncertainty expressed in terms of an interval. For complex nonlinear problems,an iteratively optimized inverse analysis model is proposed. In a given set of loose parameter intervals, all the unknown parameter intervals that satisfy the measured information can be obtained by an iteratively optimized inverse analysis model. The influences of measured precisions and the number of parameters on the results of the inverse analysis are evaluated. Finally, the uniqueness of the interval inverse analysis method is discussed.

文摘The validity of correlation analysis between finite element model(FEM) and modal test data is strongly affected by three factors, i.e., quality of excitation and measurement points in modal test,FEM reduction methods, and correlation check techniques. However, the IRS method is an improvement over the Guyan reduction, and the Hybrid reduction is an improvement over the SEREP reduction.

文摘Lookback options are path-dependent options. In general, the binomial tree methods, as the most popular approaches to pricing options, involve a path dependent variable as well as the underlying asset price for lookback options. However, for floating strike lookback options, a single-state variable binomial tree method can be constructed. This paper is devoted to the convergence analysis of the single-state binomial tree methods both for discretely and continuously monitored American floating strike lookback options. We also investigate some properties of such options, including effects of expiration date, interest rate and dividend yield on options prices, properties of optimal exercise boundaries and so
