This study examines the relationship between ecological awareness,satisfaction,and the intention to participate in environmental protection in Vietnam,focusing on the mediating role of satisfaction and the moderating effects of social responsibility and ecological knowledge.While ecological awareness is a key driver of pro-environmental behavior,prior research shows that awareness alone does not always translate into concrete actions.To address this issue,we explore how satisfaction with environmental conditions strengthens the awareness-intention link and how personal responsibility and knowledge further enhance this process.Survey data were collected from 4,615 participants across six provinces,representing diverse ecological and socio-economic contexts.Structural equation modeling(SEM)results indicate that ecological awareness positively influences pro-environmental intention,but this effect is significantly stronger when individuals report higher levels of satisfaction.Satisfaction serves as a central mediator,showing that awareness must be complemented by confidence and trust in environmental outcomes to stimulate behavioral commitment.In addition,social responsibility and ecological knowledge moderate these relationships:individuals with greater responsibility and knowledge demonstrate stronger connections between awareness,satisfaction,and intention.The findings contribute to environmental psychology by emphasizing the interaction of cognitive,affective,and normative factors in shaping ecological behavior.For policymakers,the results highlight the need to design interventions that go beyond awareness-raising.Building satisfaction with environmental policies,fostering a sense of responsibility,and strengthening ecological knowledge are crucial for promoting sustainable behaviors and encouraging active citizen participation in environmental protection in Vietnam. 展开更多

Silver is an elegant white precious metal,but it is easily oxidized by O3,SO2,and H2S in the air,turning yellow or dark,which affects its decorative effect.The existing silver coating,primarily prepared through the electroplating process,poses serious environmental pollution problems.It is necessary to seek new,green,and environmentally friendly coating processes while also enhancing the color palette of silver jewelry coatings.Titanium film layers were deposited on Ag925 and Ag999 surfaces using magnetron sputtering coating technology.The effects of sputtering time,substrate surface state,reaction gas type and time,and film thickness on the color of the film layers were studied,and the anti discoloration performance of the obtained film layers under the optimal process was tested.The experimental results show that when the sputtering time varies from 5 to 10 minutes,injecting argon,oxygen,and nitrogen into the coating chamber yields rich colors such as purple with a red tint,blue,yellow green,yellowish purple,and blue purple.The precise control of gas injection time has a significant impact on the color of the film layer.In terms of anti tarnish performance,the film showed good stability in the artificial sweat immersion test.From an environmental perspective,the magnetron sputtering titanium film process has no harmful gas or liquid emissions,which aligns with the sustainable development trend of the jewelry industry and holds great promise for application.This study has improved the visual effect and practical performance of the product,providing important theoretical basis and experimental data support for the application of environmentally friendly silver surface vacuum magnetron sputtering titanium thin film coating technology. 展开更多

Integrated outcomes of large-scale ecological restoration projects on biodiversity-eco-environment-society in China

China has executed large-scale ecological restoration projects(ERPs)to meet the goals of environmental pro-tection and economic development.Yet,the integrated outcomes of these projects on the biodiversity-eco-environment-society dimensions remain unclear,but when available could be insightful for adaptation and ad-justments,particularly in this United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration(2021-2030).Based on multi-source data,we identified the categories and quantities of large-scale ERP implementation in the county-level.By comparing the time-series multiple factors of implemented vs unimplemented counties,we quantify the con-tributions and compare the relative effects of up to six different ERPs.Combining random forest,spatial autocor-relation,and network analysis,we explore the key factors that affect the contributions of ERPs.Here,we show that the triple dimensions in the low ERP group(regions implementing 0-2 projects)produced better outcomes than the high ERP group(regions implementing 3-5 projects)in relatively developed regions,while the high ERP group has more gains than the low ERP group in relatively less-developed regions.Notably,regional character-istics and different social assets mediate the ERP contributions,while human capital and financial capital have important roles.Overall,the ERPs generated positive contributions and could increase the network stability of multi-dimensions in relatively less-developed regions,but it may lead to imbalances in some factors(i.e.,mam-mal species conservation,and human capital).To continue to minimize the negative effects from past,and to improve the returns of ERP policy and investments,more timely and adaptive management of ERPs are needed,especially in relatively less-developed regions. 展开更多

The increasing severity of air pollution necessitates more effective and sustained air filtration technology.Concurrently,the desire for more environmentally friendly,sustainable materials with better filtering performance and less environmental impact drives the move away from conventional synthetic membranes.This review presents lignocellulosic biocomposite(LigBioComp)membranes as an alternative to traditional synthetic membranes.It focuses on their materials,fabrication,and functionalization techniques while exploring challenges and proposing methods for resourceful utilization.Renowned for their abundance and renewable nature,lignocellulosic materials consist of cellulose,hemicellulose,and lignin.Various applications can benefit from their antibacterial properties,large surface area,and remarkable mechanical strength.LigBioComp membranes are fabricated through casting,electrospinning,and freeze-drying,with advancements in fabrication techniques enhancing their performance and applicability.It is suggested to use solvent-free or low-solvent techniques such as Layer-by-Layer assembly to minimize environmental impact.Freeze-drying and electrospinning with green solvents can be used for achieving specific membrane properties,though energy consumption should be considered.Apply dry-wet spinning and solvent casting processes selectively.Functional groups,including carboxyl,hydroxyl,or amino groups,can significantly improve the membrane’s capacity to capture particulate matter.Chemical etching or the precise deposition of nanoparticles can further optimize pore size and distribution.The choice of chemicals and methods is critical in functionalization,with silane coupling agents,polyethyleneimine,and polydopamine.Future research should prioritize refining fabrication methods,advancing functionalization strategies,and conducting performance and recyclability assessments on hybrid and composite materials.This will enhance integrated systems and contribute to the development of smart filters. 展开更多

Effects of Slow Release Fertilizer on the Yield and Nutrient Use Efficiency of Carnation and Its Environmental Protection Effect 被引量:4

[Objective] The aim was to study the effects of slow release fertilizer on the yield,economic benefit and nutrient use efficiency of carnation and environmental pollution.[Method] Taking carnation(Dianthus caryophyllus)as research object,the application effect and environmental protection effect of slow release fertilizer on carnation were discussed through field plot test.[Result] The main agronomic characters of carnation improved after the application of slow release fertilizer;compared with Conv-F treatment,the yield of carnation with slow release fertilizer increased by 18.67%-20.83%,and its economic benefit increased by 105 500 yuan/hm2,while the ratio of output to input improved by 74.29%;under the same NPK ratio and nutrient amount,the yield,economic benefit and ratio of output to input of carnation after the application of slow release fertilizer increased by 2.11%,14 800 yuan and 16.2%,respectively;besides,the application of slow release fertilizer improved the nutrient use efficiency of carnation,and N,P and K nutrient use efficiency in Opt-F-0.7% treatment increased by 13.88%,8.57% and 30.14% compared with Conv-F treatment.[Conclusion] Slow release fertilizer could not only reduce the waste of fertilizer resources and improve fertilizer use efficiency but also decrease the pollution caused by nutrient loss,which had important practical significance for protecting ecological environment and promoting the sustainable development of agriculture. 展开更多

Environmental Risks in China and Their Countermeasures

The 13th Five-year Plan period (2016-2020) is a crucial period for environmental protection in China and represents the last chance for the achievement of the environmental objective under the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round manner. During this period of time, China' s environment is confronted with the following major risks: risks of environmental quality, human health, ecological security, balanced regional development and international influence. The overall conclusion is that the tendencies of changing eco-environment are complex, problems remain outstanding, and some risks have abated while others have intensified with possible improvements in the future. Future prospects mainly depend on the intensity of actions taken. It is suggested that environmental protection strategy of"overall optimization" be adopted for the 13th Five-year Plan period, i.e. environmental protection requirements should be incorporated into political, economic, social and cultural spheres, so that these areas with major influence on the natural environment will improve and transform towards an environmentally friendly direction and ultimately help achieve the objective of improving eco-environment and people's welfare. In order to fundamentally reverse mainstream understanding on environmental protection, it is suggested to define the "contradiction between environmental pressures arising from growing economic development and China ' s limited and fragile environmental capacity" as a major contradiction of Chinese society. 展开更多

Traditional coal mining and utilisation patterns are severely detrimental to natural resources and environments and significantly impede safe,low-carbon,clean,and sustainable utilisation of coal resources.Based on the idea of in situ fluidized coal mining that aims to transform solid coal into liquid or gas and transports the fluidized resources to the ground to ensure safe mining and low-carbon and clean utilisation,in this study,we report on a novel in situ unmanned automatic mining method.This includes a flexible,earthworm-like unmanned automatic mining machine(UAMM)and a coal mine layout for in situ fluidized coal mining suitable for the UAMM.The technological and economic advantages and the carbon emission reduction of the UAMM-based in situ fluidized mining in contrast to traditional mining technologies are evaluated as well.The development trends and possible challenges to this design are also discussed.It is estimated that the proposed method costs approximately 49%of traditional coal mining costs.The UAMM-based in situ fluidized mining and transformation method will reduce CO_(2)emissions by at least 94.9%compared to traditional coal mining and utilisation methods.The proposed approach is expected to achieve safe and environmentally friendly coal mining as well as lowcarbon and clean utilisation of coal. 展开更多

Considering the increasing environmental pressure,environmentally friendly and high-performance water-based drilling fluids(WBDFs)have been widely studied in recent years to replace the commonly used oil-based drilling fluids(OBDFs).However,few of these drilling fluids are entirely composed of natural materials,which makes it difficult to achieve real environmental protection.Using laponite nanoparticles and various derivatives of natu ral mate rials,including cro sslinked starch,cellulose composite,gelatin ammonium salt,poly-l-arginine,and polyanionic cellulose,a kind of environmentally friendly water-based drilling fluid(EF-WBDF)was built for drilling in environment-sensitive areas.The properties of this EF-WBDF were evaluated by thermal stability tests on rheology,filtration,inhibition,and salt contamination.Besides,biological toxicity,biodegradability,heavy mental content and wheat cultivation tests were conducted to investigate the environmental factor of EF-WBDF.Results showed that EF-WBDF displayed satisfactory thermal resistance up to 150℃,and the rheological properties did not suffer significant fluctuation,showing potential application in high-temperature wells.The optimal rheological model of EF-WBDF was Herschel-Bulkley model.This EF-WBDF performed an eligible filtration of 14.2 mL at 150℃and a differential pressure of 3.5 MPa.This fluid could still maintain colloidal stability after being contaminated by 7.5%NaCl or 0.5%CaC1_(2).Meanwhile,rather low clay swelling degree of 2.44 mm and high shale recovery of more than 95%ensured the inhibitive capability of EF-WBDF.Furthermore,EF-WBDF presented a half maximal effective concentration(EC_(50))of51200 mg/L and a BOD/COD ratio of 47.55%,suggesting that EF-WBDF was non-toxic and easily biodegradable.The wheat cultivated in EF-WBDF could grow healthily,beneficial for reducing the adverse impact on ecological environment.The formed EF-WBDF has a promising future for drilling in environment-sensitive and high-temperature areas. 展开更多
