From the li...With the development of science and technology, various online autonomous learning platforms emerge one after another. Autonomous learning platforms have become an important channel to help students learn. From the literature, there is a lot of research on English platform learning and use, but the research on students' autonomous construction and use of learning platform is relatively small, which is worth studying. This study tracked and investigated the self-built learning platform projects of two university students' innovation and entrepreneurship teams in Guangxi University of Foreign Languages. Using the methods of observation, questionnaire and interview, this paper analyzes the specific conditions of the English learning platform independently constructed by the two College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program students, the difficulties and gains encountered in the construction of the platform, and the users' use of the platform. The study found that students encountered different difficulties in different periods of constructing learning platforms. With the resolution of the difficulties, they have gained a lot of new knowledge and skills. Some students have produced their own research topics in the process of building a learning platform. For platform users, most people like two platforms because they can broaden their knowledge. Some people do not have a strong desire to use it, partly because they do not plan their study well and partly because they think that platform learning is not efficient. The inspiration from the research: the construction of learning platform for students is a process of learning and experience;Students need more patience and more study and research if they want to build a learning platform.展开更多

Every year, college students carry out various innovative and entrepreneurial projects under the guidance of teachers. From the perspective of literature research, there is a lot of research on college students' innovation and entrepreneurship programs, but not much research on English majors' college students' innovation and entrepreneurship hip program, and even less research on students' publicity translation of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship hip program. However, in recent years, there have been many English major publicity programs, which are worth our investigation and research. This study conducted a two-year follow-up survey on nine research teams of college students' innovation and entrepreneurship program participating in Guangxi University of foreign languages 2017. Through interviews and questionnaires, this paper aims to understand the research process of students' innovation and entrepreneurship hip program and the influence of students' innovation and entrepreneurship hip program on students' translation ability. The research results show that at the beginning of the project, actively prepare, go out for investigation and collect publicity materials. In the process of research, students encounter various difficulties and gain a lot of experience in solving them. At the stage of sorting out research results and writing papers, most of the students' bilingual ability, extra-linguistic ability, translation knowledge ability, tool ability and strategy ability have been improved to varying degrees. It takes the innovative service program based on an IC2 conceptualized program at Shanghai Jiao Tong University Library(thereafter abbreviated as SJTUL) as a concrete example to elucidate the merit of such an endeavor. Specifically, this paper discusses the particular development background, overall objectives and service contents of the IC2 motivated program at SJTUL. By presenting a detailed account of some of the key measures, major achievements and also possible future directions of library service development under the guiding principles of SJTUL's IC2 program, these authors hope that its innovative library practice may serve as a reference for other academic librarians to gain some inspirations for their own parallel service innovations or refinement focused on subject-oriented library liaison service to their constituents and parent institution's curricula and research projects.展开更多

At the same time, large-scale public engagement activities warrant appropriate methods for analyzing their outcomes. This paper r...There are increasing calls for engaging citizens in the development of future outlooks. At the same time, large-scale public engagement activities warrant appropriate methods for analyzing their outcomes. This paper reviews how topic modeling could provide such a methodology, which both accounts for all textual data collected in public engagement activities, however large in scope, yet also allows for meaningful topical analysis. It compares topic modeling results concerning a corpus of 179 citizen visions from 30 European countries on desirable and sustainable futures to those acquired through deliberative analysis. While both methodologies contend that European citizens＇ outlook consists of education, sustainability in the economy, health concerns, and fairness in communities, and the particular strengths of topic modeling relate to its documentability, repeatability, cost efficiency, and scalability. Topic modeling can also be considered to support public engagement analytically from the perspective of knowledge formation rather than that of common sense.展开更多
