The control er is designed whose parameters are optimal y obtained through the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm. The parameters of the control er are viewed as the space position of a particle in particle swarm optimization algorithm and updated continual y until the control er makes the PDF of the state variable as close as possible to the expected PDF. The proposed PDF shape control technique is compared with the equivalent linearization technique through simulation experiments. The results show the superiority and the effectiveness of the proposed method. The control er is excellent in making the state PDF fol ow the expected PDF and has the very smal error between the state PDF and the expected PDF, solving the control problem of the PDF shape in stochastic systems effectively.展开更多

In most achievements, controller design of MJLSs pays more attention to state/output feedback control for stability, while the system cost in practice is out of consideration. In this paper, we propose a control mechanism consisting of two parts: finite-path-dependent state feedback controller design with which uniform stability of MJLSs can be ensured, and mode feedback control which aims to decrease system cost. Differing from the traditional state/output feedback controller design, the main novelty is that the proposed control mechanism not only guarantees system stability, but also decreases system cost effectively by adjusting the occurrence probability of system modes. The effectiveness of the proposed mechanism is illustrated via numerical examples.展开更多

Methods: This study was carried out on 12 patients, treated for pelvis tumor; and total of 240 images obtained by electronic portal image device (EPID) were analyzed. The EPIs acquire using EPID attached to the Siemens linear accelerator. The anatomy match- ing software (Theraview) was used and displacement in two dimensions were noted for each treatment field to study patient setup errors. Results: The percentages of mean deviations less than 5 mm in X direction were 65% & 92%, from 5-10 mm were 31% & 19% and more than 10 mm were 11% & 9% forNP and lateral direction respectively. The percentages of mean deviations less than 5 mm in Y direction were 65% & 63%, from 5-10 mm were 33% & 28% and more than 10 mm were 22% & 29%. The mean deviations in 2D-vector errors were 〈 5 mm in 47% and 46%, 5-10 mm in 36% and 37% and 〉 10 mm in 37% and 37% of images in the NP and lateral direction respectively. Conclusion: The results revealed that the ranges of set up errors are immobilization method to improve reproducibility. The observed variations were not within the limits..展开更多

In this article, we propose a TCP model-based statistical test for predicting the outcome of a radiation treatment. We determine the foresight capability of prostate tumour erradication (cure) from Monte Carlo simulations of the Dawson-Hillen TCP model. We construct the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves of the test from the probability distributions of the fraction of remaining tumour cells for simulated experiments that evolve either to cure or non-cure. Simulations show that a similar procedure may be applicable to clinical data. Results suggest that the evaluation of tumour sizes after the treatment has started may be used for short-term prognosis.展开更多
