The present status of our planet,with global warming and unprecedented changes in the climate,has led the shipping industry to incorporate the concept of sustainability.Sustainability in the shipping industry is a hol...The present status of our planet,with global warming and unprecedented changes in the climate,has led the shipping industry to incorporate the concept of sustainability.Sustainability in the shipping industry is a holistic management concept for sustainable development,applied to the shipping sector,integrating environmental and social responsibility.The final aim of sustainability in shipping is to establish an emission-free industry while executing more than 95%of global trade.To achieve this,specific methods and procedures are being developed.In this paper,the correlation between the concepts of proactiveness and due diligence will be assessed to explore and evaluate if or should there be a strong link between those concepts to achieve sustainability.During the paper’s analysis,it is evident that there is a continuous and impactful correlation between those three concepts.Therefore,the methods and systems provided can effectively lead the shipping sector into a sustainable and emission-free future.展开更多

Objective:To investigate the distribution of health literacy(HL)levels and the association of HL with proactive personality in patients with permanent colostomy.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted to measure...Objective:To investigate the distribution of health literacy(HL)levels and the association of HL with proactive personality in patients with permanent colostomy.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted to measure proactive personality and HL using validated scales.A total of 172 patients with permanent colostomy were selected from January 2021 to May 2022 in Yantai City,China.Descriptive statistics,t-test,ANOVA,Pearson correlation analysis,and multiple linear regression analysis techniques were used.Results:The results obtained from the study showed that the HL status of the participants was moderate.The correlation between participants’total HL scores and proactive personality scores was 0.417(P-value<0.001).In addition,HL showed statistically significant differences according to education level,place of residence,profession,and average monthly household income.Conclusions:This study showed that patients with higher proactive personality scores had higher HL.The key stakeholders require several positive strategies to improve the HL of patients with permanent colostomy by cultivating their proactive personalities,and these important policies will help to improve patient health and quality of life.展开更多
This paper investigates mobility-aware online optimization for digital twin(DT)-assisted task execution in edge computing environments.In such systems,DTs,hosted on edge servers(ESs),require proactive migration to mai...This paper investigates mobility-aware online optimization for digital twin(DT)-assisted task execution in edge computing environments.In such systems,DTs,hosted on edge servers(ESs),require proactive migration to maintain proximity to their mobile physical twin(PT)counterparts.To minimize task response latency under a stringent energy consumption constraint,we jointly optimize three key components:the status data uploading frequency fromthe PT,theDT migration decisions,and the allocation of computational and communication resources.To address the asynchronous nature of these decisions,we propose a novel two-timescale mobility-aware online optimization(TMO)framework.The TMO scheme leverages an extended two-timescale Lyapunov optimization framework to decompose the long-term problem into sequential subproblems.At the larger timescale,a multi-armed bandit(MAB)algorithm is employed to dynamically learn the optimal status data uploading frequency.Within each shorter timescale,we first employ a gated recurrent unit(GRU)-based predictor to forecast the PT’s trajectory.Based on this prediction,an alternate minimization(AM)algorithm is then utilized to solve for the DT migration and resource allocation variables.Theoretical analysis confirms that the proposed TMO scheme is asymptotically optimal.Furthermore,simulation results demonstrate its significant performance gains over existing benchmark methods.展开更多

Ever since the research in machine learning gained traction in recent years,it has been employed to address challenges in a wide variety of domains,including mechanical devices.Most of the machine learning models are ...Ever since the research in machine learning gained traction in recent years,it has been employed to address challenges in a wide variety of domains,including mechanical devices.Most of the machine learning models are built on the assumption of a static learning environment,but in practical situations,the data generated by the process is dynamic.This evolution of the data is termed concept drift.This research paper presents an approach for predictingmechanical failure in real-time using incremental learning based on the statistically calculated parameters of mechanical equipment.The method proposed here is applicable to allmechanical devices that are susceptible to failure or operational degradation.The proposed method in this paper is equipped with the capacity to detect the drift in data generation and adaptation.The proposed approach evaluates the machine learning and deep learning models for their efficacy in handling the errors related to industrial machines due to their dynamic nature.It is observed that,in the settings without concept drift in the data,methods like SVM and Random Forest performed better compared to deep neural networks.However,this resulted in poor sensitivity for the smallest drift in the machine data reported as a drift.In this perspective,DNN generated the stable drift detection method;it reported an accuracy of 84%and an AUC of 0.87 while detecting only a single drift point,indicating the stability to performbetter in detecting and adapting to new data in the drifting environments under industrial measurement settings.展开更多
The Internet of Everything(IoE)coupled with Proactive Artificial Intelligence(AI)-Based Learning Agents(PLAs)through a cloud processing system is an idea that connects all computing resources to the Internet,making it...The Internet of Everything(IoE)coupled with Proactive Artificial Intelligence(AI)-Based Learning Agents(PLAs)through a cloud processing system is an idea that connects all computing resources to the Internet,making it possible for these devices to communicate with one another.Technologies featured in the IoE include embedding,networking,and sensing devices.To achieve the intended results of the IoE and ease life for everyone involved,sensing devices and monitoring systems are linked together.The IoE is used in several contexts,including intelligent cars’protection,navigation,security,and fuel efficiency.The Smart Things Monitoring System(STMS)framework,which has been proposed for early occurrence identification and theft prevention,is discussed in this article.The STMS uses technologies based on the IoE and PLAs to continuously and remotely observe,control,and monitor vehicles.The STMS is familiar with the platform used by the global positioning system;as a result,the STMS can maintain a real-time record of current vehicle positions.This information is utilized to locate the vehicle in an accident or theft.The findings of the STMS system are promising for precisely identifying crashes,evaluating incident severity,and locating vehicles after collisions have occurred.Moreover,we formulate an ad hoc STMS network communication scenario to evaluate the efficacy of data communication by utilizing various network parameters,such as round-trip time(RTT),data packet transmission,data packet reception,and loss.From our experimentation,we obtained an improved communication efficiency for STMS across multiple PLAs compared to the standard greedy routing and traditional AODV approaches.Our framework facilitates adaptable solutions with communication competence by deploying Proactive PLAs in a cloud-connected smart vehicular environment.展开更多
BACKGROUND Thiopurine-induced leucopenia significantly hinders the wide application of thiopurines.Dose optimization guided by nudix hydrolase 15(NUDT15)has significantly reduced the early leucopenia rate,but there ar...BACKGROUND Thiopurine-induced leucopenia significantly hinders the wide application of thiopurines.Dose optimization guided by nudix hydrolase 15(NUDT15)has significantly reduced the early leucopenia rate,but there are no definitive biomarkers for late risk leucopenia prediction.AIM To determine the predictive value of early monitoring of DNA-thioguanine(DNATG)or 6-thioguanine nucleotides(6TGN)for late leucopenia under a NUDT15-guided thiopurine dosing strategy in patients with Crohn’s disease(CD).METHODS Blood samples were collected within two months after thiopurine initiation for detection of metabolite concentrations.Late leucopenia was defined as a leukocyte count<3.5×10^(9)/L over two months.RESULTS Of 148 patients studied,late leucopenia was observed in 15.6%(17/109)of NUDT15/thiopurine methyltransferase(TPMT)normal and 64.1%(25/39)of intermediate metabolizers.In patients suffering late leucopenia,early DNATG levels were significantly higher than in those who did not develop late leucopenia(P=4.9×10^(-13)).The DNATG threshold of 319.43 fmol/μg DNA could predict late leucopenia in the entire sample with an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.855(sensitivity 83%,specificity 81%),and in NUDT15/TPMT normal metabolizers,the predictive performance of a threshold of 315.72 fmol/μg DNA was much more remarkable with an AUC of 0.902(sensitivity 88%,specificity 85%).6TGN had a relatively poor correlation with late leucopenia whether in the entire sample(P=0.021)or NUDT15/TPMT normal or intermediate metabolizers(P=0.018,P=0.55,respectively).CONCLUSION Proactive therapeutic drug monitoring of DNATG could be an effective strategy to prevent late leucopenia in both NUDT15/TPMT normal and intermediate metabolizers with CD,especially the former.展开更多

These measures are sensitive to cognitive changes in early Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) a...Proactive Semantic Interference (PSI) and failure to recover from PSI (frPSI), are novel constructs assessed by the LASSI-L. These measures are sensitive to cognitive changes in early Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and preclinical AD determined by Aβ load using PET. The goal of this study was to compare a new computerized version of the LASSI-L (LASSI-Brief Computerized) to the standard paper-and-pencil version of the test. In this study, we examined 110 cognitively unimpaired (CU) older adults and 79 with amnestic MCI (aMCI) who were administered the paper-and-pencil form of the LASSI-L. Their performance was compared with 62 CU older adults and 52 aMCI participants examined using the LASSI-BC. After adjustment for covariates (degree of initial learning, sex, education, and language of evaluation) both the standard and computerized versions distinguished between aMCI and CU participants. The performance of CU and aMCI groups using either form was relatively commensurate. Importantly, an optimal combination of Cued B2 recall and Cued B1 intrusions on the LASSI-BC yielded an area under the ROC curve of .927, a sensitivity of 92.3% and specificity of 88.1%, relative to an area under the ROC curve of .815, a sensitivity of 72.5%, and a specificity of 79.1% obtained for the paper-and-pencil LASSI-L. Overall, the LASSI-BC was comparable, and in some ways, superior to the paper-and-pencil LASSI-L. Advantages of the LASSI-BC include a more standardized administration, suitability for remote assessment, and an automated scoring mechanism that can be verified by a built-in audio recording of responses.展开更多

文摘Ever since the research in machine learning gained traction in recent years,it has been employed to address challenges in a wide variety of domains,including mechanical devices.Most of the machine learning models are built on the assumption of a static learning environment,but in practical situations,the data generated by the process is dynamic.This evolution of the data is termed concept drift.This research paper presents an approach for predictingmechanical failure in real-time using incremental learning based on the statistically calculated parameters of mechanical equipment.The method proposed here is applicable to allmechanical devices that are susceptible to failure or operational degradation.The proposed method in this paper is equipped with the capacity to detect the drift in data generation and adaptation.The proposed approach evaluates the machine learning and deep learning models for their efficacy in handling the errors related to industrial machines due to their dynamic nature.It is observed that,in the settings without concept drift in the data,methods like SVM and Random Forest performed better compared to deep neural networks.However,this resulted in poor sensitivity for the smallest drift in the machine data reported as a drift.In this perspective,DNN generated the stable drift detection method;it reported an accuracy of 84%and an AUC of 0.87 while detecting only a single drift point,indicating the stability to performbetter in detecting and adapting to new data in the drifting environments under industrial measurement settings.

文摘The Internet of Everything(IoE)coupled with Proactive Artificial Intelligence(AI)-Based Learning Agents(PLAs)through a cloud processing system is an idea that connects all computing resources to the Internet,making it possible for these devices to communicate with one another.Technologies featured in the IoE include embedding,networking,and sensing devices.To achieve the intended results of the IoE and ease life for everyone involved,sensing devices and monitoring systems are linked together.The IoE is used in several contexts,including intelligent cars’protection,navigation,security,and fuel efficiency.The Smart Things Monitoring System(STMS)framework,which has been proposed for early occurrence identification and theft prevention,is discussed in this article.The STMS uses technologies based on the IoE and PLAs to continuously and remotely observe,control,and monitor vehicles.The STMS is familiar with the platform used by the global positioning system;as a result,the STMS can maintain a real-time record of current vehicle positions.This information is utilized to locate the vehicle in an accident or theft.The findings of the STMS system are promising for precisely identifying crashes,evaluating incident severity,and locating vehicles after collisions have occurred.Moreover,we formulate an ad hoc STMS network communication scenario to evaluate the efficacy of data communication by utilizing various network parameters,such as round-trip time(RTT),data packet transmission,data packet reception,and loss.From our experimentation,we obtained an improved communication efficiency for STMS across multiple PLAs compared to the standard greedy routing and traditional AODV approaches.Our framework facilitates adaptable solutions with communication competence by deploying Proactive PLAs in a cloud-connected smart vehicular environment.

文摘BACKGROUND Thiopurine-induced leucopenia significantly hinders the wide application of thiopurines.Dose optimization guided by nudix hydrolase 15(NUDT15)has significantly reduced the early leucopenia rate,but there are no definitive biomarkers for late risk leucopenia prediction.AIM To determine the predictive value of early monitoring of DNA-thioguanine(DNATG)or 6-thioguanine nucleotides(6TGN)for late leucopenia under a NUDT15-guided thiopurine dosing strategy in patients with Crohn’s disease(CD).METHODS Blood samples were collected within two months after thiopurine initiation for detection of metabolite concentrations.Late leucopenia was defined as a leukocyte count<3.5×10^(9)/L over two months.RESULTS Of 148 patients studied,late leucopenia was observed in 15.6%(17/109)of NUDT15/thiopurine methyltransferase(TPMT)normal and 64.1%(25/39)of intermediate metabolizers.In patients suffering late leucopenia,early DNATG levels were significantly higher than in those who did not develop late leucopenia(P=4.9×10^(-13)).The DNATG threshold of 319.43 fmol/μg DNA could predict late leucopenia in the entire sample with an area under the curve(AUC)of 0.855(sensitivity 83%,specificity 81%),and in NUDT15/TPMT normal metabolizers,the predictive performance of a threshold of 315.72 fmol/μg DNA was much more remarkable with an AUC of 0.902(sensitivity 88%,specificity 85%).6TGN had a relatively poor correlation with late leucopenia whether in the entire sample(P=0.021)or NUDT15/TPMT normal or intermediate metabolizers(P=0.018,P=0.55,respectively).CONCLUSION Proactive therapeutic drug monitoring of DNATG could be an effective strategy to prevent late leucopenia in both NUDT15/TPMT normal and intermediate metabolizers with CD,especially the former.
文摘In contrast to the traditional Western approach to macro-fiscal management,China’s proactive fiscal policy is founded on a people-centered development philosophy and,with distinctive Chinese characteristics,is a significant policy innovation of macroeconomic management in the Chinese modernization.Although there are notable distinctions between the Western“Keynesian”and the“nonKeynesian”schools of thought,both of these approaches’core policy goals and methodological roots are the same,composing the traditional Western macro-fiscal approach.This approach faces increasing real dilemmas.China’s proactive fiscal policy,however,places greater emphasis on future potential growth rates in addition to equilibrium between supply and demand,achieving a fiscal policy transformation with a new approach.In this paper we argue that with such a new approach,China should reconsider the nature and reasonable level of the fiscal deficit,the function and risk assessment criteria of government debt,the scope and effects of reductions in taxes and fees,its approach and focus of demand management,and the costs and resulting efficiencies of policies in order to develop a new fiscal policy paradigm that is more in line with its stated goals.

文摘Proactive Semantic Interference (PSI) and failure to recover from PSI (frPSI), are novel constructs assessed by the LASSI-L. These measures are sensitive to cognitive changes in early Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and preclinical AD determined by Aβ load using PET. The goal of this study was to compare a new computerized version of the LASSI-L (LASSI-Brief Computerized) to the standard paper-and-pencil version of the test. In this study, we examined 110 cognitively unimpaired (CU) older adults and 79 with amnestic MCI (aMCI) who were administered the paper-and-pencil form of the LASSI-L. Their performance was compared with 62 CU older adults and 52 aMCI participants examined using the LASSI-BC. After adjustment for covariates (degree of initial learning, sex, education, and language of evaluation) both the standard and computerized versions distinguished between aMCI and CU participants. The performance of CU and aMCI groups using either form was relatively commensurate. Importantly, an optimal combination of Cued B2 recall and Cued B1 intrusions on the LASSI-BC yielded an area under the ROC curve of .927, a sensitivity of 92.3% and specificity of 88.1%, relative to an area under the ROC curve of .815, a sensitivity of 72.5%, and a specificity of 79.1% obtained for the paper-and-pencil LASSI-L. Overall, the LASSI-BC was comparable, and in some ways, superior to the paper-and-pencil LASSI-L. Advantages of the LASSI-BC include a more standardized administration, suitability for remote assessment, and an automated scoring mechanism that can be verified by a built-in audio recording of responses.
