Parental educational anxiety has become a social symptom in China,and rural primary school students’mothers exhibit unique educational anxieties due to their special living environment.Based on interviews with 10 rur...Parental educational anxiety has become a social symptom in China,and rural primary school students’mothers exhibit unique educational anxieties due to their special living environment.Based on interviews with 10 rural primary school students’mothers,five typical educational anxiety experiences were selected for analysis,and themes such as rural life burden,children’s learning habits,mothers’educational expectations,mothers’educational methods,mothers’emotional state,deviation between reality and expectations,homework guidance ability,mothers’educational level,and attitudes towards children’s future development were refined.The root causes of educational anxiety among rural primary school students’mothers include the deviation between children’s actual performance and mothers’educational expectations,the sense of disparity under social comparison,physical and mental exhaustion caused by role overload,anxiety triggered by excessive economic burden,and a sense of powerlessness towards children’s educational outcomes.To alleviate the educational anxiety of rural primary school students’mothers,mothers should actively adjust themselves,fathers should actively participate in their children’s education,society should create a healthy atmosphere,and schools should strengthen family education guidance.展开更多
The study aims to determine the validity and reliability of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence–Third Edition(WPPSI-III)scores in a sample of kindergarten and lower primary pupils from Khartoum S...The study aims to determine the validity and reliability of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence–Third Edition(WPPSI-III)scores in a sample of kindergarten and lower primary pupils from Khartoum State,Sudan.It also aims to examine whether test’s factor structure in this sample replicated that of the original WPPSI-III.The study sample consisted of 384 kindergarten and primary school children in Khartoum State(females=50%mean age=4.14,SD=1.37),selected using stratified random sampling across its seven localities:Khartoum,Jebel Awliya,Khartoum Bahri,East Nile,Omdurman,Ombada,Karari.For concurrent validation,the children additionally completed the Goodenough Draw-a-Man Test,and the Colored Progressive Matrices.WPPSI-III scores demonstrated high internal consistency across the subtest items.Confirmatory factor analysis indicators for total,verbal,and performance intelligence were all excellent.The scale also showed weak to strong score stability ranging from 0.25(weak)to 0.88(strong)based on the Spearman-Brown equation,0.25 to 0.75 based on the Guttman split-half method.The Cronbach’s alpha coefficient scores ranged from 0.54 to 0.93.The WPPSI-III and Goodenough Draw-a-Man Test scores concurrent validity scores were poor(0.05)to modest(0.31),and while those with the Colored Progressive Matrices test were poor(r=0.04–0.18).Thesefindings provide evidence to suggest that the WPPSI-III is appropriate for research use with kindergarten and lower primary school students in Khartoum State,Sudan.展开更多

Amidst the unique challenges faced by rural educators is their sense of decent work influenced by levels of social support,career self-efficacy,and marginalization.To investigate these relationships,we surveyed 435 ru...Amidst the unique challenges faced by rural educators is their sense of decent work influenced by levels of social support,career self-efficacy,and marginalization.To investigate these relationships,we surveyed 435 rural school teachers(females=69.32%,mean years teaching experience=13.6,SD=7.7 years).The Structural Equation Modeling results indicated that social support positively predicts teachers’perceptions of decent work.Career self-efficacy mediated the relationship between social support and a higher sense of decent work,while marginalization mediated the relationship such that lower social support predicted lower perceptions of decent work.Career self-efficacy and marginalization also had a sequential mediation relationship:higher social support enhanced career self-efficacy,which in turn reduced marginalization experiences,ultimately improving teachers’perceptions of decent work.These findings align with the predictions of Social Cognitive Career Theory and the Psychology of Working Theory,demonstrating that environmental supports enhance personal psychological resources,reduce marginalization risks,and promote positive work-related outcomes.The study findings highlight the necessity for education departments to improve rural teachers’perceptions of decent work by providing social support to foster positive work experiences for teachers at high risk for marginalization and diminished career self-efficacy.展开更多
With the development and changes of society and the further iteration and renewal of parents’concepts,the importance and influence of future career planning of primary school students have become increasingly promine...With the development and changes of society and the further iteration and renewal of parents’concepts,the importance and influence of future career planning of primary school students have become increasingly prominent.Parental expectation is a very important part of influencing proactive personality,and it is also an important part of improving career adaptability,personal quality and comprehensive ability.This study explores the relationship between parents’expectation,proactive personality and career adaptability of primary school students.This paper deeply analyzes the influence of proactive personality on career adaptability,so as to provide theoretical support for improving the career adaptability of primary school students.In this study,the Chinese version of“Career Resilience”,“Parental Expectation Questionnaire”and“Proactive Personality Measurement”(PPS)were used as research tools to conduct psychological measurement on 287 students in grade 5 and 6 of a primary school in Beijing.SPSS29.0 and Process statistical software were used to explore the status quo and relationship of proactive personality,parents’expectation and career adaptability of primary school students.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The correlation analysis results between parental expectation and proactive personality are significant,and there is a significant positive correlation.(2)The correlation analysis results between parents’expectations and career adaptability are significant,and there is a significant positive correlation.(3)The correlation analysis results between career adaptability and proactive personality were significant,showing a significant positive correlation.(4)Both parents’expectation and proactive personality have significant direct and positive effects on career adaptability,and proactive personality plays a partial mediating role between parents’expectation and career adaptability.展开更多
Chemistry science popularization for lower grades(Grades 1-2)in primary schools is an important part of science enlightenment education.However,in practice,it generally faces practical dilemmas such as insufficient co...Chemistry science popularization for lower grades(Grades 1-2)in primary schools is an important part of science enlightenment education.However,in practice,it generally faces practical dilemmas such as insufficient content adaptability,a single implementation method,and a lack of coordination mechanisms.Based on Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory and the STSE(Science,Technology,Society,Environment)educational concept,this study constructed a four-in-one strategy system of“content development-teaching implementation-collaborative linkage-guarantee support”through literature analysis,action research,and empirical comparison.An empirical study was conducted in two primary schools for one academic year.The results show that this strategy system can increase students’interest in participating in chemistry science popularization by 42 percentage points,the compliance rate of observation ability reaches 85%,and the collaborative participation of families,schools,and society rises to 85%.The core strategies formed in the study,including“age-appropriate content screening,interactive teaching implementation,three-dimensional collaborative promotion,and full-process guarantee support,”provide a replicable practical model for the standardized and efficient development of chemistry science popularization for lower grades in primary schools.They also offer empirical references for fulfilling the requirement of“strengthening the pertinence and effectiveness of science popularization”in the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Popularization of Science and Technology(revised in 2024).展开更多

Objective:To investigate the lifestyle and myopia among primary school students in urban areas of Fujian with the context of myopia prevention and control measures,aiming to provide scientific evidence for identifying...Objective:To investigate the lifestyle and myopia among primary school students in urban areas of Fujian with the context of myopia prevention and control measures,aiming to provide scientific evidence for identifying high-risk myopia population and formulating effective intervention strategies.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted from October to November 2023,enrolling 811 fourth-grade students from three primary schools in three cities across Fujian.Personal information and lifestyle-related pattern were collected using customized questionnaire.Participants underwent comprehensive ophthalmic assessments including distance visual acuity tests and refractive examinations.Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the impact of lifestyle on the onset of myopia.Results:The prevalence of myopia among fourth-grade students in urban primary schools in Fujian was 46.4%.Only 25.8%students engaged in outdoor activities for more than 2 hours daily,while63.3%participated in outdoor activities during class breaks.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that outdoor activities during class breaks(OR=0.646(95%confidence interval(CI):0.473-0.881),P=0.006)and daily time spent outdoors(2-3 hours,OR=0.682(95%CI:0.466-0.993),P=0.047;more than 3 hours,OR=0.403(95%CI:0.192-0.796),P=0.01)were independent protective factors against myopia.Lifestyle significantly enhanced the predictive performance for myopia(P=0.01).Additionally,parental myopia(one parent with myopia,OR=2.247(95%CI:1.612-3.145),P<0.001;both parents with myopia,OR=4.824(95%CI:3.262-7.204),P<0.001)emerged as a key risk factor for myopia.Conclusions:There is considerable scope for improving the lifestyle of primary school students in urban areas of Fujian.Lifestyle is strongly associated with myopia onset,highlighting the need for schools and families to actively encourage students to engage in more outdoor activities and take breaks outdoors to prevent and control myopia.Students with parents,especially both parents,having myopia should be considered as a key target group for myopia prevention efforts.展开更多
Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of a varicella outbreak in X Primary School in 2024,evaluate the protective efficacy of varicella vaccine,summarize the characteristics of varicella outbreaks,a...Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of a varicella outbreak in X Primary School in 2024,evaluate the protective efficacy of varicella vaccine,summarize the characteristics of varicella outbreaks,and provide references for the prevention and control of infectious diseases in schools and emergency response.Methods:Symptoms of all ill students were analyzed to clarify the epidemiological characteristics,and the Cox regression model was used to analyze the protective efficacy of varicella vaccine.Results:The varicella epidemic lasted for one month,involving 3 classes in 2 grades.A total of 16 varicella cases were identified in the school,with an attack rate of 1.78%.The vaccination status of 142 students was analyzed for vaccine protective efficacy.Comparison with unvaccinated students showed that the protective efficacy of 1 dose of varicella vaccine was not significant,while the protective efficacy of 2 doses of varicella vaccine was 82.10%.Conclusion:Vaccination with 2 doses of varicella vaccine provides the best protective effect.Timely isolation of ill students after the outbreak can effectively control large-scale varicella outbreaks.展开更多
The purpose of this study is to comprehensively assess the psychological resilience of primary school students,using a multi-angle measurement method.Firstly,data were collected through open-ended questionnaire survey...The purpose of this study is to comprehensively assess the psychological resilience of primary school students,using a multi-angle measurement method.Firstly,data were collected through open-ended questionnaire survey,and then a simplified psychological resilience scale was developed based on the results of factor analysis,which included three different assessment perspectives:student self-assessment,parent evaluation and teacher evaluation.This study further tested the internal consistency reliability and structural validity of these scales,and constructed a multi-perspective measurement model(MTMM)to comprehensively assess the mental resilience of primary school students.The results show that the scale has high reliability and validity in different evaluation angles,and the MTMM model has a good fit.This study not only verified the rationality of the mental resilience table of primary school students,but also revealed the possible methodological deviations of different evaluation angles,thus emphasizing the necessity of multi-angle evaluation in the evaluation of mental resilience.展开更多

The development of interest can improve the efficiency and quality of students’learning activities.Previous research mainly explored professional interest,but less on subject interest.This study designed and validate...The development of interest can improve the efficiency and quality of students’learning activities.Previous research mainly explored professional interest,but less on subject interest.This study designed and validated a subject interest questionnaire for primary school students to assess their potential to predict academic performance and offer reference for educational assessment and counseling.A sample of 545 students from two primary schools in Beijing was selected.The questionnaire consisted of 138 questions involving eight major courses,such as Chinese,mathematics and English.Through analysis,questions with good discrimination and social desirability were screened out,and nine questions of each sub-scale were finally retained.According to the result,the reliability and validity of the questionnaire reached an acceptable level.Further analysis of exploratory and confirmatory factors revealed that the subject interest can be summarized into two dimensions:“humanities-related factor”and“mathematics-related factor”.The two dimensions are consistent with the“human and material dimensions”proposed by ACT.As a preliminary exploration,this study lays a foundation for further research on the relationship between subject interest and basic interest and provides a practical evaluation tool for primary education.展开更多

The study aims to prove that game teaching approach as a commonly used teaching approach can motivate students' interest and assist English teaching if it is combined with vocabulary teaching properly. In the study, 70 students of Grade four were randomly chosen from Wenzhou Jingshan primary school as the subjects, class 1as the experimental group while Class 2 as the control one. The results show that game teaching approach applied in English vocabulary teaching can help students learn vocabulary more efficiently than traditional vocabulary teaching method.展开更多
Focusing on the peculiarities of urban construction resulting from specific mountain terrains, the purpose of this study is to find out a suitable method based on a Spatial Network Comprehensive Model(SNCM) to reasona...Focusing on the peculiarities of urban construction resulting from specific mountain terrains, the purpose of this study is to find out a suitable method based on a Spatial Network Comprehensive Model(SNCM) to reasonably plan and distribute primary schools in low-income mountain cities. The construction principles and advantages of the SNCM method are proposed and the method tested in Wanyuan city of Qinba Mountain area(Southwest China) to verify its feasibility and optimization. Taking account of the mountain terrain and its influence on user behavior, we used the SNCM method to build a comprehensive model which integrates the road slope and the walking speed of pupils into the basic spatial model. The model is used to calculate a reasonable layout of the primary schools and to validate the rationale. The results show that the SNCM method can be effectively applied in low-income mountainous cities. It can not only improve the accessibility and service efficiency of primary schools using as little capital-investment as possible, but also help the city grow in an intensive and efficient way.展开更多

文摘Chemistry science popularization for lower grades(Grades 1-2)in primary schools is an important part of science enlightenment education.However,in practice,it generally faces practical dilemmas such as insufficient content adaptability,a single implementation method,and a lack of coordination mechanisms.Based on Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory and the STSE(Science,Technology,Society,Environment)educational concept,this study constructed a four-in-one strategy system of“content development-teaching implementation-collaborative linkage-guarantee support”through literature analysis,action research,and empirical comparison.An empirical study was conducted in two primary schools for one academic year.The results show that this strategy system can increase students’interest in participating in chemistry science popularization by 42 percentage points,the compliance rate of observation ability reaches 85%,and the collaborative participation of families,schools,and society rises to 85%.The core strategies formed in the study,including“age-appropriate content screening,interactive teaching implementation,three-dimensional collaborative promotion,and full-process guarantee support,”provide a replicable practical model for the standardized and efficient development of chemistry science popularization for lower grades in primary schools.They also offer empirical references for fulfilling the requirement of“strengthening the pertinence and effectiveness of science popularization”in the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Popularization of Science and Technology(revised in 2024).

文摘As the enlightenment stage of students’Chinese learning,primary school Chinese education plays a key role in cultivating students’language ability,thinking development,and humanistic literacy.Value-added evaluation,as an evaluation method that focuses on the changes in students’individual development and attaches importance to the learning process,has gradually attracted attention in the application of primary school Chinese education.This paper first analyzes the problems existing in the current implementation of value-added evaluation in primary school Chinese,and then explores the countermeasures to improve the effectiveness of value-added evaluation in primary school Chinese from the aspects of evaluation concept,evaluation content,evaluation method,evaluation subject,and application of evaluation results.The purpose is to provide strong support for the improvement of primary school Chinese teaching quality and the all-round development of students.

文摘Objective:To investigate the lifestyle and myopia among primary school students in urban areas of Fujian with the context of myopia prevention and control measures,aiming to provide scientific evidence for identifying high-risk myopia population and formulating effective intervention strategies.Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted from October to November 2023,enrolling 811 fourth-grade students from three primary schools in three cities across Fujian.Personal information and lifestyle-related pattern were collected using customized questionnaire.Participants underwent comprehensive ophthalmic assessments including distance visual acuity tests and refractive examinations.Logistic regression analysis was used to assess the impact of lifestyle on the onset of myopia.Results:The prevalence of myopia among fourth-grade students in urban primary schools in Fujian was 46.4%.Only 25.8%students engaged in outdoor activities for more than 2 hours daily,while63.3%participated in outdoor activities during class breaks.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis revealed that outdoor activities during class breaks(OR=0.646(95%confidence interval(CI):0.473-0.881),P=0.006)and daily time spent outdoors(2-3 hours,OR=0.682(95%CI:0.466-0.993),P=0.047;more than 3 hours,OR=0.403(95%CI:0.192-0.796),P=0.01)were independent protective factors against myopia.Lifestyle significantly enhanced the predictive performance for myopia(P=0.01).Additionally,parental myopia(one parent with myopia,OR=2.247(95%CI:1.612-3.145),P<0.001;both parents with myopia,OR=4.824(95%CI:3.262-7.204),P<0.001)emerged as a key risk factor for myopia.Conclusions:There is considerable scope for improving the lifestyle of primary school students in urban areas of Fujian.Lifestyle is strongly associated with myopia onset,highlighting the need for schools and families to actively encourage students to engage in more outdoor activities and take breaks outdoors to prevent and control myopia.Students with parents,especially both parents,having myopia should be considered as a key target group for myopia prevention efforts.
文摘Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of a varicella outbreak in X Primary School in 2024,evaluate the protective efficacy of varicella vaccine,summarize the characteristics of varicella outbreaks,and provide references for the prevention and control of infectious diseases in schools and emergency response.Methods:Symptoms of all ill students were analyzed to clarify the epidemiological characteristics,and the Cox regression model was used to analyze the protective efficacy of varicella vaccine.Results:The varicella epidemic lasted for one month,involving 3 classes in 2 grades.A total of 16 varicella cases were identified in the school,with an attack rate of 1.78%.The vaccination status of 142 students was analyzed for vaccine protective efficacy.Comparison with unvaccinated students showed that the protective efficacy of 1 dose of varicella vaccine was not significant,while the protective efficacy of 2 doses of varicella vaccine was 82.10%.Conclusion:Vaccination with 2 doses of varicella vaccine provides the best protective effect.Timely isolation of ill students after the outbreak can effectively control large-scale varicella outbreaks.

文摘The purpose of this study is to comprehensively assess the psychological resilience of primary school students,using a multi-angle measurement method.Firstly,data were collected through open-ended questionnaire survey,and then a simplified psychological resilience scale was developed based on the results of factor analysis,which included three different assessment perspectives:student self-assessment,parent evaluation and teacher evaluation.This study further tested the internal consistency reliability and structural validity of these scales,and constructed a multi-perspective measurement model(MTMM)to comprehensively assess the mental resilience of primary school students.The results show that the scale has high reliability and validity in different evaluation angles,and the MTMM model has a good fit.This study not only verified the rationality of the mental resilience table of primary school students,but also revealed the possible methodological deviations of different evaluation angles,thus emphasizing the necessity of multi-angle evaluation in the evaluation of mental resilience.

文摘The development of interest can improve the efficiency and quality of students’learning activities.Previous research mainly explored professional interest,but less on subject interest.This study designed and validated a subject interest questionnaire for primary school students to assess their potential to predict academic performance and offer reference for educational assessment and counseling.A sample of 545 students from two primary schools in Beijing was selected.The questionnaire consisted of 138 questions involving eight major courses,such as Chinese,mathematics and English.Through analysis,questions with good discrimination and social desirability were screened out,and nine questions of each sub-scale were finally retained.According to the result,the reliability and validity of the questionnaire reached an acceptable level.Further analysis of exploratory and confirmatory factors revealed that the subject interest can be summarized into two dimensions:“humanities-related factor”and“mathematics-related factor”.The two dimensions are consistent with the“human and material dimensions”proposed by ACT.As a preliminary exploration,this study lays a foundation for further research on the relationship between subject interest and basic interest and provides a practical evaluation tool for primary education.

文摘Vocabulary is a key to English learning. How to memorize words effectively has become a heated topic among teachers and students. Since primary school is the initial stage of English learning, it is imperative to cultivate students' interest in English and find a useful way of learning vocabulary. The study aims to prove that game teaching approach as a commonly used teaching approach can motivate students' interest and assist English teaching if it is combined with vocabulary teaching properly. In the study, 70 students of Grade four were randomly chosen from Wenzhou Jingshan primary school as the subjects, class 1as the experimental group while Class 2 as the control one. The results show that game teaching approach applied in English vocabulary teaching can help students learn vocabulary more efficiently than traditional vocabulary teaching method.

文摘Focusing on the peculiarities of urban construction resulting from specific mountain terrains, the purpose of this study is to find out a suitable method based on a Spatial Network Comprehensive Model(SNCM) to reasonably plan and distribute primary schools in low-income mountain cities. The construction principles and advantages of the SNCM method are proposed and the method tested in Wanyuan city of Qinba Mountain area(Southwest China) to verify its feasibility and optimization. Taking account of the mountain terrain and its influence on user behavior, we used the SNCM method to build a comprehensive model which integrates the road slope and the walking speed of pupils into the basic spatial model. The model is used to calculate a reasonable layout of the primary schools and to validate the rationale. The results show that the SNCM method can be effectively applied in low-income mountainous cities. It can not only improve the accessibility and service efficiency of primary schools using as little capital-investment as possible, but also help the city grow in an intensive and efficient way.
