文摘Objective:To investigate the antifibrotic effects of curcumin in a transverse aortic constriction(TAC)mouse model and elucidate its molecular mechanisms. Methods:Male C57BL/6 mice underwent TAC and received vehicle,low-dose curcumin(50 mg/kg),high-dose curcumin(200 mg/kg),high-dose curcumin plus a scrambled control antagomir,or high-dose curcumin plus anti-miR-29b treatments.Cardiac function was assessed by echocardiography.Fibrosis was evaluated by histology, collagen volume fraction, and hydroxyproline content.Expression of miR-29b,HDAC4,and fibrosis-related markers(Col1a1,Col3a1,TGF-β1)was measured by quantitative RT-PCR and Western blotting assays.Myocardial procollagen type I carboxy-terminal propeptide was determined by ELISA,and HDAC4-specific enzymatic activity was assayed using a fluorogenic kit. Results:Curcumin improved cardiac function, reduced fibrosis, restored miR-29b expression, and suppressed HDAC4 expression and activity in a dose-dependent manner.Furthermore, curcumin decreased myocardial procollagen type I carboxy-terminal propeptide levels, confirming reduced collagen synthesis.Anti-miR-29b administration partially abrogated the antifibrotic and cardioprotective effects of curcumin. Conclusions:Curcumin attenuates pressure overload-induced cardiac fibrosis and dysfunction in a TAC mouse model via modulation of the miR-29b/HDAC4 axis and suppression of collagen synthesis.

文摘Objective Evidence suggests that depleted gut microbialα-diversity is associated with hypertension;however, whether metabolic markers affect this relationship remains unknown. We aimed to determine the potential metabolites mediating the associations ofα-diversity with blood pressure(BP)and BP variability(BPV).Methods Metagenomics and plasma targeted metabolomics were conducted on 523 Chinese participants from the MetaSalt study. The 24-hour,daytime,and nighttime BP and BPV were calculated based on ambulatory BP measurements.Linear mixed models were used to characterize the relationships betweenα-diversity(Shannon and Chao1 index)and BP indices.Mediation analyses were performed to assess the contribution of metabolites to the observed associations. The influence of key metabolites on hypertension was further evaluated in a prospective cohort of 2,169 participants. Results Gut microbial richness(Chao1)was negatively associated with 24-hour systolic BP,daytime systolic BP,daytime diastolic BP,24-hour systolic BPV,and nighttime systolic BPV(P<0.05).Moreover,26 metabolites were strongly associated with richness(Bonferroni P<0.05).Among them, four key metabolites(imidazole propionate,2-hydroxy-3-methylbutyric acid, homovanillic acid, and hydrocinnamic acid)mediated the associations between richness and BP indices(proportions of mediating effects:14.1%–67.4%).These key metabolites were also associated with hypertension in the prospective cohort. For example, each 1-standard deviation unit increase in hydrocinnamic acid significantly reduced the risk of prevalent(OR[95%CI]=0.90[0.82,0.99];P=0.03)and incident hypertension(HR[95%CI]=0.83[0.71,0.96];P=0.01).Conclusion Our results suggest that gut microbial richness correlates with lower BP and BPV,and that certain metabolites mediate these associations. These findings provide novel insights into the pathogenesis and prevention of hypertension.

文摘The magnetic properties and Kondo effect in Ce3TiBi5 with a quasi-one-dimensional structure were investigated using in situ high-pressure resistivity measurements up to 48 GPa.At ambient pressure,Ce_(3)TiBi_(5) undergoes an antiferromagnetic(AFM)transition at T_(N)∼5 K.Under high pressures within 8.9 GPa,we find that Kondo scattering contributes differently to the high-temperature resistance,R(T),depending on the applied current direction, demonstrating a significantly anisotropic Kondo effect. The complete P–T phase diagram has been constructed,in which the pressure dependence of T_(N) exhibits a dome-like shape. The AFM order remains robust under pressure, even when the coherence temperature T^(*) far exceeds 300 K.We attribute the observed anisotropic Kondo effect and the robust AFM to the underlying anisotropy in electronic hybridization under high pressure.
文摘Coiled tube heat exchangers are widely preferred in shell structures due to their superior heat transfer performance, driven by favorable flow characteristics. This study investigates the effect of modifying coil and shell configurations on heat transfer efficiency. Two key enhancements were examined:adding fins to the outer coil surface and integrating longitudinal slots within a hollowed shell. These modifications promote turbulence and extend heat transfer duration, thereby improving performance. However, they also introduce challenges, including increased pressure loss andmanufacturing complexity.Numerical simulationswere conducted usingANSYS Fluent 2024R1 under identical boundary conditions. With a fixed cold-side flow rate of 3 L/min,the input temperatures for the hot and cold fluids were 333.15 and 291.65 K,respectively. The hot-side flow rate varied between 2 and 6 L/min.Simulation outcomes were reported for the objectives of the study that included the improvement in heat exchangers’heat transfer enhancement. As it was indicated in the study outcomes, the average heat transfer rate increased by 15.56%,the overall heat transfer coefficient enhanced by about 29.51%,and the convective heat transfer coefficient improved by about 75.96%compared to the conventional shell-and-coil tube heat exchanger model. However, the modified technique resulted in a significant pressure drop.

文摘Luminescent metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have garnered significant attention due to their structural tunability and potential applications in solid-state lighting, bioimaging, sensing, anticounterfeiting, and other fields.Nevertheless, due to the tendency of1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid(BDC)to rotate within the framework,MOFs composed of it exhibit significant non-radiative energy dissipation and thus impair the emissive properties. In this study, efficient luminescence of MIL-140A nanocrystals(NCs)with BDC rotors as ligands is achieved by pressure treatment strategy.Pressure treatment effectively modulates the pore structure of the framework, enhancing the interactions between the N,N-dimethylformamide vip molecules and the BDC ligands. The enhanced host-vip interaction contributes to the structural rigidity of the MOF,thereby suppressing the rotation-induced excited-state energy loss.As a result, the pressure-treated MIL-140A NCs displayed bright blue-light emission, with the photoluminescence quantum yield increasing from an initial 6.8%to 69.2%.This study developed an effective strategy to improve the luminescence performance of rotor ligand MOFs,offers a new avenue for the rational design and synthesis of MOFs with superior luminescent properties.

文摘The functional properties of glasses are governed by their formation history and the complex relaxation processes they undergo. However, under extreme conditions, glass behaviors are still elusive. In this study,we employ simulations with varied protocols to evaluate the effectiveness of different descriptors in predicting mechanical properties across both low-and high-pressure regimes. Our findings demonstrate that conventional structural and configurational descriptors fail to correlate with the mechanical response following pressure release, whereas the activation energy descriptor exhibits robust linearity with shear modulus after correcting for pressure effects.Notably, the soft mode parameter emerges as an ideal and computationally efficient alternative for capturing this mechanical behavior. These findings provide critical insights into the influence of pressure on glassy properties, integrating the distinct features of compressed glasses into a unified theoretical framework.

文摘Superconducting elect rides have attracted growing attention for their potential to achieve high superconducting transition temperatures(T_(C))under pressure. However, many known elect rides are chemically reactive and unstable, making high-quality single-crystal growth, characterization, and measurements difficult, and most do not exhibit superconductivity at ambient pressure. In contrast,La_(3) In stands out for its ambient-pressure superconductivity(T_(C)∼9.4 K)and the availability of high-quality single crystals. Here,we investigate its low-energy electronic structure using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and first-principles calculations. The bands near the Fermi energy(E_(F))are mainly derived from La 5d and In 5p orbitals.A saddle point is directly observed at the Brillouin zone(BZ)boundary, while a three-dimensional Van Hove singularity crosses E_(F) at the BZ corner.First-principles calculations further reveal topological Dirac surface states within the bulk energy gap above E_(F).The coexistence of a high density of states and in-gap topological surface states near𝐸F suggests that La3In offers a promising platform for tuning superconductivity and exploring possible topological superconducting phases through doping or external pressure.

文摘In pressurized water reactor(PWR)system, the surgeline plays an important role in bonding the pressurizer and the primary circle. Some considerable problems, including the thermo-hydraulics,the thermal stratification and the accompanying thermal stress under transient conditions, pose risks to the surgeline integrity.Herein,a fully-coupled flow-heat-thermo-elasticity model was developed to investigate the transient behavior of thermo-hydraulic parameters and the thermal stratification phenomenon in PWR.To evaluate the nonuniformity of the stratified flow,a stratification degree indicatorζis introduced. It is found that during the outsurge flow, the increase of temperature variation will enlarge the temperature gradient on the wall, corresponding to a more serious deformation. In the cases of positive temperature variation, the higher temperature variation causes higher stratification degreeζ,and vice versa. The mass flow rate m and the stratification degree are in negative correlation. The local deformation can reach 1.802 cm under a 50 K temperature variation, while its location varies from case to case.More attention should be paid to the regulation between the highest deformation location and the surgeline thermo-hydraulic parameters.

文摘Sinter is the core raw material for blast furnaces.Flue pressure, which is an important state parameter, affects sinter quality. In this paper, flue pressure prediction and optimization were studied based on the shapley additive explanation(SHAP)to predict the flue pressure and take targeted adjustment measures.First, the sintering process data were collected and processed.A flue pressure prediction model was then constructed after comparing different feature selection methods and model algorithms using SHAP+extremely random-ized trees(ET).The prediction accuracy of the model within the error range of±0.25 kPa was 92.63%.SHAP analysis was employed to improve the interpretability of the prediction model. The effects of various sintering operation parameters on flue pressure, the relation-ship between the numerical range of key operation parameters and flue pressure, the effect of operation parameter combinations on flue pressure, and the prediction process of the flue pressure prediction model on a single sample were analyzed.A flue pressure optimization module was also constructed and analyzed when the prediction satisfied the judgment conditions. The operating parameter combination was then pushed. The flue pressure was increased by 5.87%during the verification process, achieving a good optimization effect.

文摘Using the software ANSYS-19.2/Explicit Dynamics, this study performedfinite-element modeling of the large-diameter steel pipeline cross-section for the Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent gas pipeline with a non-through straight crack, strengthened by steel wire wrapping. The effects of the thread tensile force of the steel winding in the form of single rings at the crack edges and the wires with different winding diameters and pitches were also studied. The results showed that the strengthening was preferably executed at a minimum value of the thread tensile force, which was 6.4%more effective than that at its maximum value. The analysis of the influence of the winding dia-meters showed that the equivalent stresses increased by 32%from the beginning of the crack growth until the wire broke. The increment in winding diameter decelerated the disclosure of the edge crack and reduced its length by 8.2%.The analysis of the influence of the winding pitch showed that decreasing the distance between the winding turns also led to a 33.6%reduction in the length of the straight crack and a 7.9%reduction in the maximum stres-ses on the strengthened pipeline cross-section.The analysis of the temperature effect on the pipeline material, within a range from-40℃to+50℃,resulted in a crack length change of up to 5.8%.As the temperature dropped, the crack length decreased.Within such a temperature range, the maximum stresses were observed along the cen-tral area of the crack, which were equal to 413 MPa at+50℃and 440 MPa at-40℃.The results also showed that the presence of the steel winding in the pipeline significantly reduced the length of crack propagation up to 8.4 times, depending on the temperature effect and design parameters of prestressing. This work integrated the existing methods for crack localization along steel gas pipelines.

文摘This study investigated the microstructure and hydrogen absorption properties of a rare-earth high-entropy alloy(HEA),YGdTbDyHo.Results indicated that the YGdTbDyHo alloy had a microstructure of equiaxed grains, with the alloy elements distributed homogeneously.Upon hydrogen absorption, the phase structure of the HEA changed from a solid solution with an hexagonal-close-packed(HCP)structure to a high-entropy hydride with an faced-centered-cubic(FCC)structure without any secondary phase precipitated. The alloy demonstrated a maximum hydrogen storage capacity of 2.33 H/M(hydrogen atom/metal atom)at 723 K,with an enthalpy change(ΔH)of-141.09 kJ·mol^(-1)and an entropy change(ΔS)of-119.14 J·mol^(-1)·K^(-1).The kinetic mechanism of hydrogen absorption was hydride nucleation and growth, with an apparent activation energy(E_(a))of 20.90 kJ·mol^(-1).Without any activation, the YGdTbDyHo alloy could absorb hydrogen quickly(180 s at 923 K)with nearly no incubation period observed. The reason for the obtained value of 2.33 H/M was that the hydrogen atoms occupied both tetrahedral and octahedral interstices. These results demonstrate the potential application of HEAs as a high-capacity hydrogen storage material with a large H/M ratio, which can be used in the deuterium storage field.

文摘The ability to generate high pressures in a large-volume press(LVP)is crucial for the study of matter under extreme conditions. Here,we have achieved ultrahigh pressures of and 50 GPa,respectively,at room temperature and a high temperature of 1900 K∼60within a millimeter-sized sample volume in a Kawai-type LVP(KLVP)using hard tungsten carbide(WC)and newly designed assem-blies.The introduction of electroconductive polycrystalline boron-doped diamond and dense alumina wrapped with Cu foils into a large conventional cell assembly enables the detection of resistance variations in the Fe_(2)O_(3) pressure standard upon compression. The efficiency of pressure generation in the newly developed cell assembly equipped with conventional ZK10F WC anvils is significantly higher than that of conventional assemblies with some ultrahard or tapered WC anvils. Our study has enabled the routine gener-ation of pressures exceeding 50 GPa within a millimeter-sized sample chamber that have been inaccessible with traditional KLVPs.This advance in high-pressure technology not only breaks a record for pressure generation in traditional KLVPs,but also opens up new avenues for exploration of the properties of the Earth’s deep interior and for the synthesis of novel materials at extreme high pressures.
