The research aimed to understand farmers’willingness to adopt(WTA)and willingness to pay(WTP)for precision pesticide technologies and analyzed the determinants of farmers’decision-making.We used a two-stage approach...The research aimed to understand farmers’willingness to adopt(WTA)and willingness to pay(WTP)for precision pesticide technologies and analyzed the determinants of farmers’decision-making.We used a two-stage approach to consider farmers’WTA and WTP for precision pesticide technologies.A survey of 545 apple farmers was administered in Bohai Bay and the Loess Plateau in China.The data were analyzed using the double-hurdle model.The results indicated that 78.72%of respondents were willing to apply precision pesticide technologies provided by service organizations such as cooperatives and dedicated enterprises,and 69.72%were willing to buy the equipment for using precision pesticide technologies.The results of the determinant analysis indicated that farmers’perceived perceptions,farm scale,cooperative membership,access to digital information,and availability of financial services had significant and positive impacts on farmers’WTA precision pesticide technologies.Cooperative membership,technical training,and adherence to environmental regulations increased farmers’WTP for precision pesticide technologies.Moreover,nonlinear relationships between age,agricultural experience,and farmers’WTA and WTP for precision pesticide technology services were found.展开更多

BACKGROUND The current study was to assess the application effects of conventional surgical techniques and ultrasound-guided precise localization technology for early gastric cancer(EGC),with an emphasis on long-term ...BACKGROUND The current study was to assess the application effects of conventional surgical techniques and ultrasound-guided precise localization technology for early gastric cancer(EGC),with an emphasis on long-term survival,postoperative complications,and surgical results.AIM To evaluate perioperative results,postoperative complications,and long-term survival in order to conduct a thorough comparison between conventional surgical techniques and ultrasound-guided precise localization technology for the treatment of EGC.METHODS Of 100 EGC patients were gathered,and they were subsequently divided into two groups based on the surgical technique used:The observation group(n=52)received surgery assisted by ultrasound-guided precise localization technology,whereas the control group(n=48)received traditional surgical treatment.The baseline characteristics were similar between the groups.Operation time,intraoperative hemorrhage,the number of lymph nodes removed,postoperative problems,survival rate,and other surgical and postoperative parameters were compared.RESULTS Compared with the control group,the observation group had significantly less intraoperative blood loss(80 mL vs 120 mL,P<0.05)and more dissected lymph nodes(28 vs 22,P<0.05).There were fewer postoperative complications in the observation group than in the routine group(8%vs 16%,P<0.05),hospitalization after surgery was shorter,and gastrointestinal function returned sooner.The long-term survival rates at 5 years and 3 years were significantly greater in the observation group than in the control group:82%and 88%vs 70%and 78%,respectively(P<0.05).CONCLUSION It is possible that ultrasound-guided accurate localization technology might be utilized more widely in clinical practice because it could significantly enhance the results of surgery for EGC,including reduced blood loss,better lymphadenectomy,lower complication rates,and improved survival rates.Further studies should aim to refine this technology and consider its utility in other types of oncologic surgery.展开更多
Precision Agriculture(PA)has been used in many countries and serving the agricultural sectors.The use of PA solutions intervened with many agricultural businesses and supported decision making using data analytics.Pre...Precision Agriculture(PA)has been used in many countries and serving the agricultural sectors.The use of PA solutions intervened with many agricultural businesses and supported decision making using data analytics.Precision Agriculture depends on weather,soil,plants,and water information that are essential for farming.Precision Agriculture depends on the use of several technologies such as image sensors,vision machines,drones,robots,machine learning,and artificial intelligence.The use of Precision Agriculture Technologies(PAT)depends on integration between devices,sensors,and systems to ensure the proper implementation of activities.This paper is generated from research on the applicability of PA in in Egypt that ended with a proposed framework for proper implementation of it.The conducted research depended on a survey,focus group discussions,and an online questionnaire that reached 271 respondents from 19 Egyptian governorates.The framework has been developed to enhance the role of an initiative leader to promote PAT through collaboration with other stakeholders in the agricultural sector.The proposed framework can be used by governmental,non-governmental entities,universities and private sector institutions and could be used at countries facing issues with land fragmentation,limited access to information,limited access to agricultural extension services,and increase in agricultural input’s prices.展开更多

The results of initial dynamic calibration tests showed a signifi...This paper describes the field tests carried out to evaluate the new Vicon RS-EDW centrifugal fertilizer spreader, to be used in Precision Agriculture. The results of initial dynamic calibration tests showed a significant and systematic difference between the application rates of the two discs (about 20%). This difference had to be corrected by the manufacturer that carried out the necessary changes to the electric actuators. The fertilizer spreader had good distribution homogeneity, considering different working velocities and different positions in the parcel. The pattern distribution curve for 18% super phosphate fertilizer led to an effective working width of 28 meters, with a coefficient of variation of 15%. The longitudinal test, under experimental working conditions led to a machine delay time of 6-7 seconds. The results show an actual fertilization application density between 74%-90% of that determined for each location. These results confirm that the spreader can be used to spread fertilizer differentially in the field.展开更多

With the accelerated aging society in China,the incidence of biliary surgical diseases in the elderly has increased significantly.The clinical characteristics of these patients indicate that improving treatment outcom...With the accelerated aging society in China,the incidence of biliary surgical diseases in the elderly has increased significantly.The clinical characteristics of these patients indicate that improving treatment outcomes and realizing healthy aging are worthy of attention.How to effectively improve the treatment effect of geriatric biliary surgical diseases has attracted widespread attention.This paper reviews and comments on the hotspots and difficulties of biliary surgery in older patients from six aspects:(1)higher morbidity associated with an aging society,(2)prevention and control of pre-operative risks,(3)extending the indications of laparoscopic surgery,(4)urgent standardization of minimally invasive surgery,(5)precise technological progress in hepatobiliary surgery,and(6)guarantee of peri-operative safety.It is of great significance to fully understand the focus of controversy,actively make use of its favorable factors,and effectively avoid its unfavorable factors,for further improving the therapeutic effects of geriatric biliary surgical diseases,and thus benefits the vast older patients with biliary surgical diseases.Accordingly,a historical record with the highest age of 93 years for laparoscopic transcystic common bile duct exploration has been created by us recently.展开更多
