Since the release of ChatGPT in late 2022,Generative Artificial Intelligence(GAI)has gained widespread attention because of its impressive capabilities in language comprehension,reasoning,and generation.GAI has been successfully applied across various aspects(e.g.,creative writing,code generation,translation,and information retrieval).In cartography and GIS,researchers have employed GAI to handle some specific tasks,such as map generation,geographic question answering,and spatiotemporal data analysis,yielding a series of remarkable results.Although GAI-based techniques are developing rapidly,literature reviews of their applications in cartography and GIS remain relatively limited.This paper reviews recent GAI-related research in cartography and GIS,focusing on three aspects:①map generation,②geographical analysis,and③evaluation of GAI’s spatial cognition abilities.In addition,the paper analyzes current challenges and proposes future research directions. 展开更多

In this paper, we study the higher dimensional nonlinear Rossby waves under the generalized beta effect.Using methods of the multiple scales and weak nonlinear perturbation expansions [Q. S. Liu, et al., Phys. Lett. A383(2019) 514], we derive a new(2 + 1)-dimensional generalized Boussinesq equation from the barotropic potential vorticity equation. Based on bifurcation theory of planar dynamical systems and the qualitative theory of ordinary differential equations, the dynamical analysis and exact traveling wave solutions of the new generalized Boussinesq equation are obtained. Moreover, we provide the numerical simulations of these exact solutions under some conditions of all parameters. The numerical results show that these traveling wave solutions are all the Rossby solitary waves. 展开更多

A combined model based on principal components analysis (PCA) and generalized regression neural network (GRNN) was adopted to forecast electricity price in day-ahead electricity market. PCA was applied to mine the main influence on day-ahead price, avoiding the strong correlation between the input factors that might influence electricity price, such as the load of the forecasting hour, other history loads and prices, weather and temperature; then GRNN was employed to forecast electricity price according to the main information extracted by PCA. To prove the efficiency of the combined model, a case from PJM (Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland) day-ahead electricity market was evaluated. Compared to back-propagation (BP) neural network and standard GRNN, the combined method reduces the mean absolute percentage error about 3%. 展开更多

Based on the stability theory of the fractional order system, the dynamic behaviours of a new fractional order system are investigated theoretically. The lowest order we found to have chaos in the new three-dimensional system is 2.46, and the period routes to chaos in the new fractional order system are also found. The effectiveness of our analysis results is further verified by numerical simulations and positive largest Lyapunov exponent. Furthermore, a nonlinear feedback controller is designed to achieve the generalized projective synchronization of the fractional order chaotic system, and its validity is proved by Laplace transformation theory. 展开更多

This paper gives performance analysis of a three phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) connected to a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT). Low speed wind condition (less than 5 m/s) is taken in consideration and the entire simulation is carried in Matlab/Simulink environment. The rated power for the generator is fixed at 1.5 KW and number of pole at 20. It is observed under low wind speed of6 m/s, a turbine having approximately1 mof radius and2.6 mof height develops 150 Nm mechanical torque that can generate power up to 1.5 KW. The generator is designed using modeling tool and is fabricated. The fabricated generator is tested in the laboratory with the simulation result for the error analysis. The range of error is about 5%-27% for the same output power value. The limitations and possible causes for error are presented and discussed. 展开更多

This paper presents an analytical method to design the high-efficiency surface permanent magnet synchronous motor(SPMSM)or generator(SPMSG).The air-gap and permanent magnet size can be approximately determined based on our mathematics model,which is the most important part of SPMSM design.From our method,we can know that motor’s power out torque is related to the torque angle that we selected in our design and it affects the air-gap and permanent magnet size.If we choose a low torque angle,the motor or generator’s overload power handing capability will increase.The embrace value has a vital place in designing a motor or generator due to its effects on air gap flux density,cogging torque,efficiency and so on.In order to avoid the knee effect,the working point of the permanent magnet we selected in the design should be bigger than 0.5.The developed 36 slots,4 poles,surface mound permanent generator is proposed.The corresponding finite element analysis(FEA)model is built based on our design method.Structure optimization includes stator and rotor structure size,permanent magnet size,magnetic bridge and air gap length which are analyzed and simulated by ANSYS Maxwell 2D FEA.Thermal analysis is conducted,and the housing of the alternator is designed.The alternator prototype is fabricated and tested based on our design. 展开更多

Owing to the fact that the conventional deterministic back analysis of the permeability coefficient cannot reflect the uncertainties of parameters, including the hydraulic head at the boundary, the permeability coefficient and measured hydraulic head, a stochastic back analysis taking consideration of uncertainties of parameters was performed using the generalized Bayesian method. Based on the stochastic finite element method (SFEM) for a seepage field, the variable metric algorithm and the generalized Bayesian method, formulas for stochastic back analysis of the permeability coefficient were derived. A case study of seepage analysis of a sluice foundation was performed to illustrate the proposed method. The results indicate that, with the generalized Bayesian method that considers the uncertainties of measured hydraulic head, the permeability coefficient and the hydraulic head at the boundary, both the mean and standard deviation of the permeability coefficient can be obtained and the standard deviation is less than that obtained by the conventional Bayesian method. Therefore, the present method is valid and applicable. 展开更多

To improve the heat dissipation performance,this paper proposes a novel hybrid cooling method for high-speed high-power Permanent Magnet assisted Synchronous Reluctance Starter/Generator(PMa Syn R S/G)in aerospace applications.The hybrid cooling structure with oil circulation in the housing,oil spray at winding ends and rotor end surface is firstly proposed for the PMa Syn R S/G.Then the accurate loss calculation of the PMa Syn R S/G is proposed,which includes air gap friction loss under oil spray cooling,copper loss,stator and rotor core loss,permanent magnet eddy current loss and bearing loss.The parameter sensitivity analysis of the hybrid cooling structure is proposed,while the equivalent thermal network model of the PMa Syn R S/G is established considering the uneven spraying at the winding ends.Finally,the effectiveness of the proposed hybrid cooling method is demonstrated on a 40 k W/24000 r/min PMa Syn R S/G experimental platform. 展开更多

A novel flywheel energy storage (FES) motor/generator (M/G) was proposed for marine systems. The purpose was to improve the power quality of a marine power system (MPS) and strengthen the energy recycle. Two structures including the magnetic or non-magnetic inner-rotor were contrasted in the magnetostatic field by using finite element analysis (FEA). By optimally designing the size parameters, the average speed of FEA results of was 17 200 r/m, and the current was controlled between 62 and 68 A in the transient field. The electrical machine electromagnetism design was further optimized by the FEA in the temperature field, to find the local overheating point under the normal operation condition and provide guidance for the cooling system. Finally, it can be concluded from the comprehensive physical field analysis that the novel redundant structure M/G can improve the efficiency of the M/G and maintain the stability of the MPS. 展开更多

"Generalized mobility"is used to realize the unification of tube flow and seepage in form and the unification of commonly used linear and nonlinear flow laws in form,which makes it possible to use the same form of motion equations to construct unified governing equations for reservoirs of different scales in different regions.Firstly,by defining the generalized mobility under different flow conditions,the basic equation governing fluid flow in reservoir coupling generalized tube flow and seepage is established.Secondly,two typical well test analysis models for coupling tube flow and seepage flow are given,namely,pipe-shaped composite reservoir model and partially open cylindrical reservoir model.The log-log pressure draw-down type-curve of composite pipe-shaped reservoir model can show characteristics of two sets of linear flow.The log-log pressure drawdown plot of partially opened cylindrical reservoir model can show the characteristics of spherical flow and linear flow,as well as spherical flow and radial flow.The pressure build-up derivative curves of the two models basically coincide with their respective pressure drawdown derivative curves in the early stage,pulling down features in the late stage,and the shorter the production time is,the earlier the pulling down feature appears.Finally,the practicability and reliability of the models presented in this paper are verified by three application examples. 展开更多

Wide-band oscillations have become a significant issue limiting the development of wind power.Both large-signal and small-signal analyses require extensive model derivation.Moreover,the large number and high order of wind turbines have driven the development of simplified models,whose applicability remains controversial.In this paper,a wide-band oscillation analysis method based on the average-value model(AVM)is proposed for wind farms(WFs).A novel linearization analysis framework is developed,leveraging the continuous-time characteristics of the AVM and MATLAB/Simulink’s built-in linearization tools.This significantly reduces modeling complexity and computational costs while maintaining model fidelity.Additionally,an object-based initial value estimation method of state variables is introduced,which,when combined with steady-state point-solving tools,greatly reduces the computational effort required for equilibrium point solving in batch linearization analysis.The proposed method is validated in both doubly fed induction generator(DFIG)-based and permanent magnet synchronous generator(PMSG)-based WFs.Furthermore,a comprehensive analysis is conducted for the first time to examine the impact of the machine-side system on the system stability of the nonfully controlled PMSG-based WF. 展开更多

Robust stereo disparity estimation plays a critical role in minimally invasive surgery,where dynamic soft tissues,specular reflections,and data scarcity pose major challenges to traditional end-to-end deep learning and deformable model-based methods.In this paper,we propose a novel disparity estimation framework that leverages a pretrained StyleGAN generator to represent the disparity manifold of Minimally Invasive Surgery(MIS)scenes and reformulates the stereo matching task as a latent-space optimization problem.Specifically,given a stereo pair,we search for the optimal latent vector in the intermediate latent space of StyleGAN,such that the photometric reconstruction loss between the stereo images is minimized while regularizing the latent code to remain within the generator’s high-confidence region.Unlike existing encoder-based embedding methods,our approach directly exploits the geometry of the learned latent space and enforces both photometric consistency and manifold prior during inference,without the need for additional training or supervision.Extensive experiments on stereo-endoscopic videos demonstrate that our method achieves high-fidelity and robust disparity estimation across varying lighting,occlusion,and tissue dynamics,outperforming Thin Plate Spline(TPS)-based and linear representation baselines.This work bridges generative modeling and 3D perception by enabling efficient,training-free disparity recovery from pre-trained generative models with reduced inference latency. 展开更多

The thermal and fast neutron fluxes were found to be 2.960 × 10~6 and6.186 × 10~7 n/cm^2 s, respectively. This was done to verify the modeling results for the optimum moderator thickness needed to maximize the thermal neutron flux. The optimum moderator thickness was found to be between 3.5 and4 cm. The present data were compared with the detailed MCNP model-based calculation performed in earlier work to simulate the generator. 展开更多

A new sampling holding three phase VFVA sine wave generator’s principle, circuit and experimentation waveform are introduced. The principle of this sampling holding circuit is simple and the realization of har’dware circuit is easy. Here we describe the three phase reference sine wave which is produced by this generator’s circuit and is required by PWM inverter is described in this paper, and also introduced the speed control and harmonir analysis of PWM inverter variable frequency. 展开更多
