University courses should have both breadth and depth.However,most courses in universities only focus on the breadth construction,while neglecting the depth construction,resulting in students being unable to apply the knowledge they have learned to conduct research or solve real-world application problems.The students’high-level abilities are insufficient and not well-trained.Therefore,in this paper,we propose a T-structured course design method to ensure both breadth and depth of a course.The proposed T-structured course design method includes four aspects:T-structured course contents,T-structured teaching activities,T-structured examination formats,and T-structured homework difficulty.By applying our proposed T-structured course design strategy to the course Optimization Algorithms and Intelligent Computing,good results are achieved,demonstrating the applicability of our proposed strategy. 展开更多

Research on ideological and political education in public basic courses of colleges and universities has been recognized as a crucial means of enhancing the quality of higher education and promoting the comprehensive development of students.By constructing an implementation framework for ideological and political education based on the“integrated core and three wings”model,this study explores the multi-classroom integration approach under the“characteristic wing,”in which ideological and political education is embedded into public basic courses.The objective is to improve students’ideological and political qualities,fostering their development as socialist builders and successors with well-rounded growth in morality,intelligence,physique,aesthetics,and labor.The practical foundation of the research is first analyzed,followed by an elaboration on the implementation method of the“integrated core and three wings”approach in ideological and political education within public basic courses.Reflections on the implementation process of multi-classroom ideological and political education are provided,along with suggestions for improvement. 展开更多

Introductory courses in vocational education play a foundational role in orienting first-year students to their chosen major and initiating their professional formation.Such courses help newcomers establish a cognitive map of the discipline,plan learning pathways,and cultivate identification with the profession,while also serving as a vehicle for integrating ideological-political education.In practice,however,many programs face persistent challenges in textbook development,faculty capacity,curriculum content,and alignment with industry standards,which limit the effectiveness of these courses.With the rollout of national policies such as the Implementation Plan for National Vocational Education Reform,the urgency of strengthening the construction of introductory courses has become increasingly evident.Using the textbook Introduction to Virtual Reality Applications:Cognition,Skills,and Career as a core case,this paper analyzes innovative practices in writing philosophy,course design,school-enterprise collaboration,resource integration,ideological-political infusion,and practical outcomes.Building on this analysis,the paper proposes strategies for reforming introductory courses and building coherent textbook systems in vocational education so as to improve course quality and better support students’professional development. 展开更多

With the development of vocational education,cultural study courses play an increasingly important role in cultivating students’overall competence and professional skills.However,many vocational colleges face challenges such as outdated teaching content,low student engagement,and insufficient learning outcomes in their cultural study courses.To address these issues,this study introduces the Assurance of Learning(AOL)system,aiming to enhance course quality through a systematic approach.Using Shanghai Zhongqiao University of Technology and Vocational Education as a case study,this research explores the specific pathways for designing and implementing cultural study courses based on the AOL system.During the course design phase,specific and measurable learning objectives are set,and corresponding teaching content and assessment tools are developed to enhance the controllability of the study process.In the implementation phase,various teaching strategies such as project-based learning,case analysis,and field visits are adopted to promote active student participation and effective learning.Additionally,continuous monitoring and feedback mechanisms are employed to continuously adjust and optimize the course content and teaching methods.This study not only provides specific pathways for course improvement in vocational colleges but also verifies the effectiveness of the AOL system in enhancing the quality of cultural study courses.The research findings offer valuable references for other vocational colleges in curriculum reform and quality improvement. 展开更多

Higher education is at the top of the educational hierarchy.With the booming development of the economy and society in China,its scale is also expanding greatly.Professional course teaching is a key component of higher education,and it plays a vital role in cultivating professionalism and even the overall level of students.According to several problems existing in the current teaching practice of professional courses at our universities,in order to improve the teaching quality to meet the requirements in the emerging engineering era,related strategies and approaches for teaching reform are proposed as follows.Firstly,we advance the traditional classroom teaching into the modern one with equal double-subjects of teachers and students to cultivate the active and comprehensive learning ability of students.Secondly,the scientific research practice-oriented teaching method is introduced,and it contributes to connecting theory with engineering practice for students.Thirdly,the diversified course assessment system is explored,and a closed-loop quality control strategy is discussed on the basis of a questionnaire survey and face-to-face interview.By questionnaires and final assessments,it is clear that teaching qualities of related professional courses are satisfactory in recent years,and the methods and strategies can be widely applied to the teaching practice of other courses. 展开更多
