Following the proposal of the“Emerging Engineering Education(EEE)”initiative,the cultivation of interdisciplinary innovative talents has gained increasing prominence.Currently,there exists a significant gap between the practical innovation capabilities of automotive majors in vocational colleges and the evolving demands of the industry.To address deficiencies in interdisciplinary innovative talent development programs,this study proposes an educational framework structured around“One Core,Two Dimensions,Three Levels.”Leveraging a project-driven teaching methodology and utilizing CATIA—the industry-standard 3D design software—as a central tool,we have developed a closed-loop teaching model integrating theory,modeling,simulation,and evaluation.This model underpins a newly designed automotive engineering practicum aimed at nurturing high-quality engineering talents equipped with three critical competencies:solving complex engineering challenges,digital design proficiency,and cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation.The proposed approach demonstrates potential to alleviate the structural disconnect between traditional engineering pedagogy and industry talent requirements. 展开更多

Under the background of information technology in education,there is insufficient integration of technological knowledge,pedagogical knowledge,and subject content knowledge in the teaching of propositions in high school mathematics.Teachers mostly equate information technology with multimedia presentations,and students often memorize formulas mechanically,which leads to difficulties in the application of complex propositions.In this study,we take“the cosine formula of the difference between two angles”as an example.Based on the TPACK framework,we use contextual teaching and geometric drawing board demonstration to integrate subject content,pedagogical knowledge,and technological knowledge in teaching design and practice.It is found that by dynamically displaying the derivation process of the formula and guiding students to explore independently,it can help them understand the logic of the formula and improve their application ability.This study provides a paradigm for teaching propositions in high school mathematics and suggests that the TPACK framework can facilitate knowledge integration and cultivate students’mathematical literacy such as problem posing and creative inquiry,which is of great significance for teaching practice. 展开更多

A“smart course”denotes a learner-centered curriculum model that deeply integrates advanced technologies,including generative artificial intelligence(AI)and big data analytics,with ongoing optimization and iterative refinement.This paper examines the pathways of smart course development in higher vocational education by using the Study Tour Course Design course as a practical case study.The analysis is conducted from four perspectives:innovation in educational concepts,innovation in teaching models,transformation in learning paradigms,and enhancement in evaluation systems.By developing a threedimensional framework encompassing“knowledge,skills,and problems”,the focus of education shifts from“knowledge imparting”to“competency development”.This approach fosters a transformation in teaching interactions,moving beyond the traditional“teacher and student interaction”to a more integrated trinity collaboration of“teachers,students,and machines”,and promotes the transformation of students’learning from“passive receptive learning”to“autonomous inquiry-based learning”.Simultaneously,it facilitates the transition of evaluation methods from“outcome-based evaluation”to“multi-dimensional evaluation”. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal endoscopy technology has significantly improved the diagnostic accuracy and the successful treatment of gastrointestinal diseases.However,a series of ethical issues have emerged,such as expanding treatment indications,which affect the fair distribution of medical resources.There is limited research on ethical issues in the field of digestive endoscopy.AIM To investigate the level of ethical awareness among gastrointestinal endoscopy practitioners and analyze the ethical issues involved in gastrointestinal endoscopy technology.METHODS A questionnaire survey was performed to collect relevant data(gender,age,degree of education,professional title,personnel category,the level of understanding medical ethical principles,ethics training and its learning pathways)from gastrointestinal endoscopy practitioners at the Second Hospital of Dalian Medical University and Dalian Friendship Hospital,including licensed physicians and nurses(including trainees and graduate students).RESULTS The majority of gastrointestinal endoscopy practitioners have received training on ethics,but there is still considerable room for improvement in their ethical awareness.Different learning pathways may affect the mastery of ethical principles, and understanding of ethical principles is more easily achieved through hospital ethics institutions.CONCLUSIONTo address the ethical issues in gastrointestinal endoscopy technology, it is necessary to enhance the humanisticeducation of gastrointestinal endoscopy practitioners, incorporate ethical standards into the technology assessmentprocess, and establish a patient-centered diagnostic and treatment model to improve the ethical awareness of practitionersand achieve a balance between technology and ethics. 展开更多

BACKGROUND: Postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction(PGD) is one of the most common complications following major surgeries under general anesthesia(GA). Despite ongoing research and new drug treatments, abdominal distension within 24 h postoperatively occurs in 8%–28% of all surgeries. We aim to analyze the effectiveness of preventing PGD by preoperatively stimulating Neiguan(PC6), Zusanli(ST36) and Shangjuxu(ST37) bilaterally twice a day compared with sham-acupuncture treatment and standard treatment.METHODS AND DESIGN: This is a single-center, prospective practical randomized controlled trial. All groups will be given standard treatments. Patients undergoing vascular surgery under GA will be included from the Vascular Surgery Unit in West China Hospital of Sichuan University, China, and divided into three groups. The experimental group will receive routine treatments and acupuncture at PC6, ST36 and ST37 bilaterally with electrical stimulation twice a day for 20 min preoperatively. The sham-acupuncture group will receive pseudo-electroacupuncture at sham acupoints of PC6, ST36 and ST37, which are 1 cun away from the real acupoints. The routine-treatment group will not receive electroacupuncture. The outcomes include the incidence of abdominal distention, abdominal circumference, the degree of abdominal distension, the fi rst time of fl atus and defecation, and hospitalization duration. DISCUSSION: The results from this study will demonstrate whether preoperative electroacupuncture is an effective method for the prevention of PGD in patients undergoing vascular surgery under GA. This study may also provide a standardized acupuncture treatment for reduction of PGD. Background: Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE) is a method of assessment of clinical competence.The examination is conducted at multiple stations.Besides practical and problem-solving skills,theoretical knowledge is also tested.OSPE can be traced back more than 40 years.OSPE has been included more than two decades,as a part of assessment in the College of Nursing,All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS),New Delhi.Objectives: This study was carried out to determine nursing students' attitudes towards OSPE as an assessment tool.Participants: The responses of all the 252 Undergraduate nursing students studying at the College of Nursing,AIIMS were obtained for this study (77 from B.Sc.(H) Nursing first year,61 from the second year,69 from the third year and 45 from the fourth year).Methods: The students attitudes towards OSPE were assessed by using a validated questionnaire containing 28 item statements on Likert's 5-point scale (LS) and 11 bipolar adjectives on Osgood's 7-point Semantic'Differential Scale (OSDS).Result: Most of the students approved of OSPE and felt that it was fair,useful,good,effective,exciting,interesting,practical,skill oriented but also taxing.The study also revealed that amongst the second years' students there was a strong correlation between Overall Rank in the Class and Assessment of OSPE.Conclusion: The study supports the introduction of OSPE as one of the methods of assessment of B.Sc.(Hons.) BACKGROUND Colon cancer is one the most common forms of cancer in both sexes.Due to important progress in the field of early detection and effective treatment,colon and rectal cancer survivors currently account for 10%of cancer survivors worldwide.However,the effects of anti-cancer treatments,especially oxaliplatinbased chemotherapy,on the quality of life(QoL)have been less evaluated.Although the incidence of severe chemotherapy-induced neuropathy(CIPN)in clinical studies is below 20%,data from real-world studies is scarce,and CIPN is probably under-reported due to patient selection and the patients’fear that reporting side-effects might lead to treatment cessation.AIM To determine the impact of CIPN on QoL in colorectal cancer patients with a recent history of oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy.METHODS We performed a prospective cross-sectional study in two major Romanian oncology tertiary hospitals—the Regional Institute of Oncology Ia?i(Iasi,Romania)and the Fundeni Clinical Oncology Institute(Bucharest,Romania).All consecutive patients with colon or rectal cancer,undergoing Oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy that consented to enroll in the study,were assessed by means of two questionnaires—the EORTC QQ-CR29(quality of life in colon and rectal cancer patients)and the QLQ-CIPN20(assessment of neuropathy).Several demographical,social,clinical and treatment data were also collected.Statistical analysis was performed by means of SPSS v20.The student t test was used to assess the relationship between the QLQ-CIPN20 and QLQ-CR29 results.Kaplan Meyer-curves were used to report 3-year progression-free survival(PFS)in patients that discontinued chemotherapy vs those that completed the recommended course.RESULTS Of the 267 patients that fulfilled the inclusion criteria in the pre-specified time frame,101(37.8%)agreed to participate in the clinical study.At the time of the enrolment in the study,over 50%of the patients had recently interrupted their oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy,most often due to neuropathy.Almost 85%of the responders reported having tingling or numbness in their fingers or hands,symptoms that were associated with pain in over 20%of the cases.When comparing the scores in the two questionnaires,a statistically significant relationship(P<0.001)was found between the presence of neuropathic symptoms and a decreased quality of life.This correlation was consistent when the patients were stratified by sex,disease stage,comorbidities and the presence of stoma or treatment type,suggesting that neuropathy in itself may be a reason for a decreased quality of life.At the 3 year final assessment,median recurrence-free survival in stageⅢpatients was 26.88 mo.When stratified by completion of chemotherapy,median recurrence freesurvival of stageⅢpatients that completed chemotherapy was 28.27 mo vs 24.33 mo in patients that discontinued chemotherapy due to toxicity,a difference that did not reach statistical significance.CONCLUSION CIPN significantly impacts QoL in colorectal cancer patients.CIPN is also the most frequent reason for treatment discontinuation.Physicians should actively assess for CIPN in order to prevent chronic neuropathy. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)infection is a prevalent disease encountered in military internal medicine and recognized as the main cause of dyspepsia,gastritis,and peptic ulcer,which are common diseases in military personnel.Current guidelines in China state all patients with evidence of active infection with H.pylori are offered treatment.However,the prevalence of H.pylori infection and its regional distribution in the military population remain unclear,which hinders effective prevention and treatment strategies.Understanding the prevalence of H.pylori infection in the military population will aid in the development of customized strategies to better manage this infectious disease.AIM To investigate the prevalence of H.pylori infection in the Chinese military population in different geographic areas.METHODS This multicenter,retrospective study included 22421 individuals from five tertiary hospitals located in north,east,southwest,and northwest cities of China.H.pylori infection was identified using the urea breath test,which had been performed between January 2020 and December 2021.RESULTS Of the 22421 military service members,7416(33.1%)were urea breath test-positive.The highest prevalence of H.pylori was in the 30-39 years age group for military personnel,with an infection rate of 34.9%.The majority of infected subjects were younger than 40-years-old,accounting for 70.4%of the infected population.The individuals serviced in Lanzhou and Chengdu showed a higher infection prevalence than those in Beijing,Nanjing,and Guangzhou,with prevalence rates of 44.3%,37.9%,29.0%,31.1%,and 32.3%,respectively.CONCLUSION H.pylori infection remains a common infectious disease among military personnel in China and has a relatively high prevalence rate in northwest China. 展开更多

Under such circumstances,college music programs have also adopted online teaching.The online teaching experience for more than a year has triggered a lot of thinking among music instructors.After all,music major,as a profession that requires a lot of practice,has always been more inclined to,and more suitable for“face-to-face”teaching.After analyzing the current situation of online teaching for music programs in colleges,this paper will talk about how to promote online teaching in practical courses for music majors and how to ensure the effectiveness of online teaching. 展开更多

The four artificial lakes in Guangzhou(Liwan Lake,Liuhua Lake,Lu Lake,Dongshan Lake)have maintained a benign relationship with the city for the symbiosis of human,nature and society since the end of the 1950s.Taking the four artificial lakes in Guangzhou as the research object,reviewing the construction process of the four artificial lakes in Guangzhou,and combing the ecological practice experience of the four artificial lakes.It is concluded that siting selection suitable for urban geographic conditions,considering the construction of artificial lakes in urban water systems,designing incorporating cultural,constructing and renovating the park combined with urban development and establishing lake-park symbiosis are the internal cause for the benign interoperability and coordinated development of the four artificial lakes and cities.In order to provide reference for the construction of urban artificial lakes in Guangzhou and the urban ecological environment construction of Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao Dawan District. 展开更多
