Though the rate of population increase has been regarded as a concerning issue, estimation of the population instability in the upcoming years may be useful for national planning. To predict Bangladesh’s future population, this study compares the estimated populations of two popular population models, the Malthusian and the logistic population models, with the country’s census population published by BBS. We also tried to find out which model gives a better approximation for forecasting the past, present, and future population between these two models.展开更多

Bell et al. in 2023. Earlier, in 2022, the decreasing of 5-year mortality from cancer in similar range of tissues discussed by us as the inverse dependence from the content of stem CD34 markers in tissues before malignization, with example of population in England. In present article we investigate the interrelation between both data more thoroughly, using accessible and more representative populations level of the data. The analysis shows that high level of HRCVD is able to predicts only high cancer death for tissue sites in the beginning of the range, being applied to the referent data of cancer cases and deaths in estimated population of USA 2024. Along with this, an increasing the content of CD34 stem marker in the native tissues of the same range was favorite for increasing of cancer’s cases at the end of the range, diminishing, in parallel, the signs of vasculo-endothelial pathology, i.e. HR CVD. Thus, the cases (incidence) of cancer depend directly rather from content of CD34, which preexisted in native sites, than that from HRCVD. Further analysis shows that CD34 content averaged over twenty cites dominates over that CD2 marker of total T-cells more than 7 times, in oppose to their ratio in the blood. The enhancement of stem CD34 marker in the range of tissues is accompanied by unidirectional rising of its maturing derivatives, vasculo-endothelial CD31 and total T-cells CD2 markers, which contents relate positively to increasing of cancer death in US population 2024. The increase of CD34 decreases cancer mortality (death: cases) in sites, but indirectly, rather due to enhancement of the denominator. The high HRCVD (more than 1.0) in range of 20 tissues, concerns of those of them, which have had highest mitotic activity (by Ki67), but lowest “stemness” (by CD34), “vascularity” (by CD31), cancer’s incidence (cases) and the worse results of therapy. Oppositely, the normal tissue with lowest HRCVD (below 1.0) and Ki67, but highest CD34, CD31, and cancer incidence (cases) are more sensitive to treatment. Thus, the residential hematopoietic “stemness” in native tissues acts as natural protectors for cardio-vascular system and promoter for cancer incidence in them. The steady and irreversible exhaustion of current regenerative resource (CRR) of BM, which assumed by us as a product of CD34 number and average telomeres length, manifests itself in acceleration of non-malignant CVD and deceleration of malignancy in population +70 (in term the death per 105), according to data extracted from WHO Mortality Database. The similar deficit of CD34 arises artificially during cytotoxic treatment of cancer, when rapid waste of local CRR forces malignant cells to search more “stemness” cites. The competition between malignant and native tissues of the host for scanty CRR seems to be the most important factor for evaluation and prediction of prevalence, curability, and long-term results in oncology.展开更多

文摘Asian rice comprises two major subspecies:Xian(X)and Geng(G),and the diverged resistance genes(R)have provided a foundation for breeding improved cultivars to control rice blast disease. After conducting two-phase allele mining using six updated FNP marker systems, the functional haplotypes at Pit,Pib,and Pi63 strictly diverged into the X-populations and were defined as X-R loci, while those at Pi54,Pi37,and Pi36 into the G-populations as G-R loci. The genic diversity at the three X-R loci(16 alleles)was twofold higher than that at the three G-R loci(8 alleles),and the allelic diversity in the Southern region(21 alleles)was nearly double that in the Northeastern region(11 alleles). Both observations reflect a significant difference in genetic diversity between X-and G-populations,and indicate that the effective R-genes mainly originated from X-subspecies.Based on the allelic structures characterized by a set of 10 parameters,8 and 16 alleles were respectively recognized as favorable and promising ones for the regional breeding programs. The genotypic structures of the two regional populations were almost different, indicating that the diverged alleles have been further assembled into two series of regional genotypes through long-term breeding programs, despite the presence of one-third of region-common alleles. The genotypic diversity in the Southern region(55 genotypes)was nearly twice as high as that in the Northeastern region(28),which perfectly reflects the aforementioned differences in both genic and allelic diversities. After analyzing the genotypic structures using a set of 13 parameters,4 and 23 genotypes, respectively, can be recommended as the favorable and promising ones for the regional breeding programs. The case study serves as a concrete sample of how to identify the favorable and promising alleles and genotypes, and beneficial parents based their comprehensive population structures for gene-designed breeding.
文摘BACKGROUND Fluoropyrimidines are metabolized in the liver by the enzyme dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase(DPD),encoded by the DPYD gene.About 7%of the European population is a carrier of DPYD gene polymorphisms associated with reduced DPD enzyme activity.AIM To assess the prevalence of DPYD polymorphisms and their impact on fluoropyrimidine tolerability in Italian patients with gastrointestinal malignancies.METHODS A total of 300 consecutive patients with a diagnosis of gastrointestinal malignancy and treated with a fluoropyrimidine-based regimen were included in the analysis and divided into two cohorts:(1)149 patients who started fluoropyrimidines after DPYD testing;and(2)151 patients treated without DPYD testing.Among the patients in cohort A,15%tested only the DPYD2A polymorphism,19%tested four polymorphisms(DPYD2A,HapB3,c.2846A>T,and DPYD13),and 66%tested five polymorphisms including DPYD6.RESULTS Overall,14.8%of patients were found to be carriers of a DPYD variant, the most common being DPYD6(12.1%).Patients in cohort A reported≥G3 toxicities(P=0.00098),particularly fewer nonhematological toxicities(P=0.0028)compared with cohort B,whereas there was no statistically significant difference between the two cohorts in hematological toxicities(P=0.6944).Significantly fewer chemotherapy dose reductions(P=0.00002)were observed in cohort A compared to cohort B,whereas there was no statistically significant differences in chemotherapy delay.CONCLUSION Although this study had a limited sample size,it provides additional information on the prevalence of DPYD polymorphisms in the Italian population and highlights the role of pharmacogenetic testing to prevent severe toxicity.

文摘In this paper,we investigate the periodic traveling wave solutions problem for a single population model with advection and distributed delay.By the bifurcation analysis method,we can obtain periodic traveling wave solutions for this model under the influence of advection term and distributed delay. The obtained results indicate that weak kernel and strong kernel can both deduce the existence of periodic traveling wave solutions. Finally,we apply the main results in this paper to Logistic model and Nicholson’s blowflies model.
文摘Bangladesh has a denser population in comparison with many other countries. We also tried to find out which model gives a better approximation for forecasting the past, present, and future population between these two models.

文摘Evidence has shown that differential transcriptomic profiles among human populations from diverse ancestries, supporting the role of genetic architecture in regulating gene expression alongside environmental stimuli.Genetic variants that regulate gene expression, known as expression quantitative trait loci(eQTL),are primarily shaped by human migration history and evolutionary forces, likewise, regulation of gene expression in principle could have been influenced by these events. Therefore,a comprehensive understanding of how human evolution impacts eQTL offers important insights into how phenotypic diversity is shaped.Recent studies, however, suggest that eQTL is enriched in genes that are selectively constrained.Whether eQTL is minimally affected by selective pressures remains an open question and requires comprehensive investigations. In addition, such studies are primarily dominated by the major populations of European ancestry, leaving many marginalized populations underrepresented. These observations indicate there exists a fundamental knowledge gap in the role of genomics variation on phenotypic diversity, which potentially hinders precision medicine. This article aims to revisit the abundance of eQTL across diverse populations and provide an overview of their impact from the population and evolutionary genetics perspective, subsequently discuss their influence on phenomics,as well as challenges and opportunities in the applications to precision medicine.

文摘The decreasing of hazard ratio for cancer incidence (HRCVD) in the range of twenty native tissues (lung, liver, brain, hematologic, neuroendocrine renal, pancreas, lymphoid, bladder, colon, lip-oral-head-neck, leukocytic, rectum and anus, thyroid, soft tissue, prostate, skin, ovarian, breast, uterine) as much, as decreasing of the level of cardiovascular pathology (CVD) in the host before malignization, have been described by C.F. Bell et al. The competition between malignant and native tissues of the host for scanty CRR seems to be the most important factor for evaluation and prediction of prevalence, curability, and long-term results in oncology.
