In this paper,a new design method for digital infinite impulse response(IIR)filters with nearly linear-phase response is presented using fractional derivative constraints(FDCs).In the proposed method,design problem of an IIR frlter is constructed as the minimization of phase error between the desired and designed phase response of an allpass filter(APF)such that the designed lowpass filter(LPF)or highpass frlter(HPF)yields less passband(ep),and stopband errors(es)with optimal stopband attenuation(As).In order to have accurate passband(pb)response,FDCs are imposed on appropriate reference frequency,where the optimality of these FDCs are ensured by using a new greedy based sorting mechanism.The simulated results reflect the efficiency of the proposed method in term of improved passband response along with better transition width.However,small reduction in^is observed within the allowable limit,when compared to noin-fractional design approach,but the designed filter remains immune to wordlength(WL)effect. 展开更多

Speedometer identification has been researched for many years.The common approaches to that problem are usually based on image subtraction,which does not adapt to image offsets caused by camera vibration.To cope with the rapidity,robust and accurate requirements of this kind of work in dynamic scene,a fast speedometer identification algorithm is proposed,it utilizes phase correlation method based on regional entire template translation to estimate the offset between images.In order to effectively reduce unnecessary computation and false detection rate,an improved linear Hough transform method with two optimization strategies is presented for pointer line detection.Based on VC++ 6.0 software platform with OpenCV library,the algorithm performance under experiments has shown that it celerity and precision. 展开更多

The output response of the linear wide-band array is equal to the convolution of impulse response functions with wide-band pulse exeiting signal. Sound field distributions and impulse responses of three kinds of transducers are compared. A novel automatic ultrasonic system used for the inspection of pipeline girth welds is developed, in which a linear phased array transducer using electronic scan is adopted. Optimal array parameters are determined based on a mathematical model of acoustic field for linear phased army derived from Huygens' principle. The testing method and the system structure are introduced. The experimental results show that the phased array transducer system has the same detectability as that of conventional ultrasonic transducer system, but the system architecture can be simplified greatly, and the testing flexibility and the testing speed can be improved greatly. 展开更多

The power system is facing numerous issues when the distributed gen-eration is added to the existing system.The existing power system has not been planned with flawless power quality control.These restrictions in the power trans-mission generation system are compensated by the use of devices such as the Static Synchronous Compensator(STATCOM),the Unified Power Quality Con-ditioner(UPQC)series/shunt compensators,etc.In this work,UPQC’s plan with the joint activity of photovoltaic(PV)exhibits is proposed.The proposed system is made out of series and shunt regulators and PV.A boost converter connects the DC link to the PV source,allowing it to compensate for voltage sags,swells,vol-tage interferences,harmonics,and reactive power issues.In this paper,the fea-tures of a seven-level Cascaded H-Bridge Multi-Level idea are applied to shunt and series active filter changeovers to reduce Total Harmonic Distortion and com-pensate for voltage issues.Despite its power quality capacity for common cou-pling,the proposed system can inject the grid’s dynamic power.During voltage interference,it can also provide a piece of delicate burden power.The simulation is carried out with the help of MATLAB/SIMULINK programming,and the results are compared to those of other conventional methods. 展开更多

In X-ray pulsar-based navigation, strong X-ray background noise leads to a low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) of the observed profile, which consequently makes it very difficult to obtain an accurate pulse phase that directly determines the navigation precision. This signifies the necessity of denoising of the observed profile. Considering that the ultimate goal of denoising is to enhance the pulse phase estimation, a profile denoising algorithm is proposed by fusing the biorthogonal lifting wavelet transform of the linear phase characteristic with the thresholding technique. The statistical properties of X-ray background noise after epoch folding are studied. Then a wavelet-scale dependent threshold is introduced to overcome correlations between wavelet coefficients. Moreover, a modified hyperbola shrinking function is presented to remove the impulsive oscillations of the observed profile. The results of numerical simulations and real data experiments indicate that the proposed method can effectively improve SNR of the observed profile and pulse phase estimation accuracy, especially in short observation durations. And it also outperforms the Donoho thresholding strategy normally used in combination with the orthogonal discrete wavelet transform. 展开更多

This paper presents an improved non-data-aided algo- rithm for carrier frequency estimation for burst M-ary PSK signals when modulation order M and training symbols are unknown. Unlike data-aided estimation, a phase clustering algorithm is used first to estimate M and modulated information is removed by a vari- able interval linear phase unwrapping. Then, a high-order correlation algorithm with proper correction is present, which reduces the probability of phase ambiguity and promotes anti-noise capability of the estimation. Simulations are given to analyze the unbiased esti- mation range, and the asymptotic performance and symbol number are needed to compare with the former algorithms. The new algo- rithm has a large estimation range close to the theoretical maximum value for non-data-aided estimation and has a better performance than earlier non-data-aided techniques for large frequency offset, low signal-to-noise ratio, and limited symbol numbers. 展开更多

Dynamically controlling terahertz(THz)wavefronts in a designable fashion is highly desired in practice.However,available methods working at microwave frequencies do not work well in the THz regime due to lacking suitable tunable elements with submicrometer sizes.Here,instead of locally controlling individual meta-atoms in a THz metasurface,we show that rotating different layers(each exhibiting a particular phase profile)in a cascaded metadevice at different speeds can dynamically change the effective Jonesmatrix property of the whole device,thus enabling extraordinary manipulations on the wavefront and polarization characteristics of a THz beam impinging on the device.After illustrating our strategy based on model calculations,we experimentally demonstrate two proof-of-concept metadevices,each consisting of two carefully designed all-silicon transmissive metasurfaces exhibiting different phase profiles.Rotating two metasurfaces inside the fabricated devices at different speeds,we experimentally demonstrate that the first metadevice can efficiently redirect a normally incident THz beam to scan over a wide solid-angle range,while the second one can dynamically manipulate both the wavefront and polarization of a THz beam.Our results pave the way to achieving dynamic control of THz beams,which is useful in many applications,such as THz radar,and bio-and chemical sensing and imaging. 展开更多

In this paper, we reviewed our common phase error (CPE) and intercarrier interference (ICI) compensation methods for coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) system. We first presented a unified CPE estimation framework combining decision-aided (DA), pilot-aided (PA) and decision feed- back (DF) algorithms. The DA method is used to estimate the CPE of the current OFDM symbol based on the decision statistics of the previous symbol. DA + PA helps increase the phase noise tolerance of DA and reduce the overhead of PA, while DA + DF reduces the overhead to zero, achieving best performance with one more step of estimation, compensation and demodulation. We also described a modified time-domain blind intercarrier interference (BL-ICI) mitigation algorithm over non- constant amplitude formats. The new algorithm is derived from the BL-ICI algorithm over constant amplitude format for wireless networks. A new power estimation scheme was proposed for the BL-ICI algorithm to adapt to non- constant amplitude format. It has the same order of complexity with frequency domain decision-aided ICI (DA-ICI) compensation method and does not suffer from symbol decision errors. The effectiveness of both CPE and ICI compensation algorithms were demonstrated in a simulated 56-Gbit/s CO-OFDM system with various modulation formats. 展开更多

A voltage-controlled oscillator(VCO) with dual stages of accumulation mode varactors for a multimode global navigation satellite system(GNSS) application,which adopts sigma-delta fractional-N technology in the synthesizer,is presented.The structure is selected to optimize the frequency coverage and tuning linearity, based on a general analysis of the parasitic capacitance in the coarse tuning switch bank cells,which cover the global positioning system(GPS) and Beidou(BD) bands.The VCO implemented in the 0.18μm CMOS process can cover the GPS L1,BD B1,B2 and B3 bands with sufficient margin,and exhibits low phase noise by using this tuning curve linearization technique.The equalized K_(vco),characteristic behavior further offers a wide voltage tuning range and improves the stability of the closed loop. 展开更多
