Several factors affecting the recoveries of PCP, including sample pH, eluting solvent, eluting volume... The method of enriching PCP(pentachlorophenol) from aquatic environment by solid phase extraction(SPE) was studied. Several factors affecting the recoveries of PCP, including sample pH, eluting solvent, eluting volume and flow rate of water sample, were optimized by orthogonal array design(OAD). The optimized results were sample pH 4; eluting solvent, 100% methanol; eluting solvent volume, 2 ml and flow rate of water sample, 4 ml/min. A comparison is made between SPE and liquid-liquid extraction(LLE) method. The recoveries of PCP were in the range of 87.6%—133.6% and 79%—120.3% for SPE and LLE, respectively. Important advantages of the SPE compared with the LLE include the short extraction time and reduced consumption of organic solvents. SPE can replace LLE for isolating and concentrating PCP from water samples. 展开更多

The photocatalysts coated on hollow glass beads and loaded with platinum varying from 0.2% to 2.4% by weight.The photocatalytic degradation rate of sodium pentachlorophenolate (PCP-Na) depends on the preparing conditions such as: sintering temperatures, water to alkoxide ratios( R ), platinum content and the size. The proper conditions of preparation photocatalysts are as follows: the ratio of TiO 2 : sodium silicate : hollow glass beads : platinum is 10:5:20:0.15(w/w), R is 100, sintering temperature is 650℃, and the size of hollow glass is 0.5-1 mm. Under these conditions, the ratio between acatase and rutile of the photocatalyst is 2:1, and the photocatalytic activity is high. 展开更多

A series of graphene–TiO2photocatalysts was synthesized by doping TiO2 with graphene oxide via hydrothermal treatment. The photocatalytic capability of the catalysts under ultraviolet irradiation was evaluated in terms of sodium pentachlorophenol(PCP-Na) decomposition and mineralization. The structural and physicochemical properties of these nanocomposites were characterized by X-ray diffraction, N2adsorption–desorption, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, Ultraviolet–visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, electron paramagnetic resonance spectra, and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy. The graphene–TiO2nanocomposites exhibited higher photocatalytic efficiency than commercial P25 for the degradation of PCP-Na, and 63.4% to 82.9% of the total organic carbon was fully mineralized. The improved photocatalytic activity may be attributed to the accelerated interfacial electron-transfer process and the significantly prolonged lifetime of electron-hole pairs imparted by graphene sheets in the nanocomposites. However,excessive graphene and the inhomogeneous aggregation of TiO2 nanoparticles may decrease photodegradation efficiency. 展开更多

Chlorinated phenols are a kind of environmental priority pollutants that attract much attention. The effect of Ni on the removal of pentachlorophenol (PCP) with Fe nanoparticles was investigated in this study. Fe nanoparticles and Ni submicron particles were synthesized using chemical reduction method and wet chemical techniques, respectively. And the concentrations of PCP and chloride ion in solutions were measured with and without Ni present. The results showed that the dechlorination of PCP was promoted in the presence of Ni particles, and the dechlorination efficiency was reduced along with the increase of Ni size. When the diameter of Ni particle was smaller than 300 nm, the removal efficiency of PCP was obviously increased in the initial 4 h, and then became the similar to that of the system with Fe only. When the diameter of Ni particle was between 400 nm and 1 μm, the removal efficiency of PCP was increased in the initial 1 h. Then the removal of PCP was inhibited, and the inhibition was increased with the increase of Ni size. Later, the removal efficiency was the similar in various systems. 展开更多

模拟根际环境条件下,研究了根系分泌物对五氯酚(PCP)污染土壤的修复效应及其机理.结果表明,PCP的土壤残留消解行为随根系分泌物添加剂量的不同显现相应差异.土壤中微生物生物量碳(Cmic),氮(Nmic),碳氮比(Cmic/Nmic),微生物商及酶等土壤... 模拟根际环境条件下,研究了根系分泌物对五氯酚(PCP)污染土壤的修复效应及其机理.结果表明,PCP的土壤残留消解行为随根系分泌物添加剂量的不同显现相应差异.土壤中微生物生物量碳(Cmic),氮(Nmic),碳氮比(Cmic/Nmic),微生物商及酶等土壤生化指标与PCP的消解均存在一定程度的相关性.低剂量(13.38TOCmg/kg)处理,PCP土壤甲醇可提态残留量最小,修复效应最佳,此时土壤微生物生物量碳,氮,微生物商,脱氢酶活性等显现最大响应,为最适根系分泌物添加剂量.修复机理可能在于其诱导的土壤环境质量友好演变过程.逐步回归分析结果显示,微生物生物量氮,微生物商及脱氢酶活性可作为表征根际修复PCP污染土壤时土壤环境质量友好演变过程的敏感生物学指标. 展开更多

以人宫颈癌HeLa细胞为研究对象,运用MTT法检测PCP处理后HeLa细胞的增长抑制率;通过测定细胞培养液中乳酸脱氢酶(LDH)的漏出率和总超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)的活性,评价PCP的细胞毒性作用;彗星实验检测HeLa细胞经不同浓度PCP处理后的DNA损伤.... 以人宫颈癌HeLa细胞为研究对象,运用MTT法检测PCP处理后HeLa细胞的增长抑制率;通过测定细胞培养液中乳酸脱氢酶(LDH)的漏出率和总超氧化物歧化酶(SOD)的活性,评价PCP的细胞毒性作用;彗星实验检测HeLa细胞经不同浓度PCP处理后的DNA损伤.结果表明,PCP对HeLa细胞的半数抑制浓度(IC50)为66.59μmol.L-1;HeLa细胞在12.5、25、50、100和200μmol.L-1 PCP染毒条件下,LDH的漏出率随着染毒时间的增加逐渐增大,具有明显的时间-效应关系,在12.25、17.5和25μmol.L-1 PCP染毒下,细胞培养液中SOD的活性随着染毒时间的增加逐渐下降,存在显著的时间-效应关系,低浓度PCP(25μmol.L-1)显著增加细胞培养液中LDH的漏出率以及PCP(12.25μmol.L-1)显著降低总SOD的活性;PCP(实验浓度为6.25、12.5、25和50μmol.L-1)不会导致HeLa细胞DNA损伤.因此SOD和LDH可作为评价低浓度PCP毒性效应的敏感性生物标志物. 展开更多

DNA作为遗传信息的载体,了解在细胞核内的组装和结构具有非常重要的意义。目前,使用能够与DNA结合的细胞膜渗透性良好的有机荧光分子作为DNA标记探针是实现这一目标的主要手段。自Barton实验室发现阳离子Ru(Ⅱ)络合物[Ru(bpy)_2(dppz)]^(2+)(bpy=2,2’-联吡啶,dppz=多吡啶并吩嗪)能够作为DNA分子"光开关"以来,d^6八面体多吡啶金属络合物与DNA的结合特性及相关研究,尤其是对这类金属络合物作为高灵敏度和结构特异性DNA探针的研究,便吸引了人们极大的关注。由于这类物质较低的膜渗透性,先前多数研究都只是局限于细胞外,活细胞内DNA直接显像成功的实例较为少见。本课题组发现五氯酚(PCP)和另外两类结构不相关的生化试剂能促进Ru(Ⅱ)多吡啶络合物的细胞特别是细胞核的摄取,[Ru(bpy)_2(dppz)]^(2+)/PCP之间的协同核摄取机理可能是形成了较稳定的亲脂性离子对复合物。Ru(Ⅱ)络合物的两种对映异构体在活细胞内与DNA结合后表现出了明显的手性选择性。这是我们首次发现通过以形成离子对复合物的方式将DNA分子"光开关"Ru(Ⅱ)络合物转入活细胞核内并维持其"光开关"效应,可为研究将其他潜在的具有生物医疗效应的细胞膜不通透金属络合物转入细胞内提供一种全新的方法。 展开更多

Both pentachlorophenol and 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) had been studied widely because of their probable anti-estrogenic activity. Sodium pentachlorophenol (PCP-Na), as a industrial product used in many fields, usually contains a trace of TCDD. The aim of this study was to assess the anti-estrogenic effect of PCP-Na in juvenile goldfish (Gurassius auratus) hepatocyte cultures using vitellogenin (VTG) as the biomarker. The ID50 of PCP-Na was investigated and then a series of concentrations (0.001 0.5 μg/ml) of PCP-Na were evaluated to estimate the anti-estrogenic activity. Results showed that PCP-Na was cytotoxic for hepatocytes even at very low concentration 〈1.21 μg/ml, and it could not induce VTG at any concentrations tested. Since it failed to stimulate VTG production, the possibility of its anti-estrogenic effect was tested, and a well-known anti-estrogenic compound-tamoxifen was used as positive control. PCP-Na caused a reduction in VTG synthesis in juvenile goldfish (Carassius auratus) hepatocytes at concentrations 〉0.1μg/ml when co-exposure with 1μg/ml 17β-estradiol (E2), making its anti-estrogenic activity approximately as potent as tamoxifen. Our results indicate that PCP-Na can act as negative modulators of estrogenic function in juvenile goldfish (Carassius auratus) hepatocytes. 展开更多

Surface sediments and bivalves were collected from the Changjiang Estuary in December 2003 and November 2004, respectively. Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins (PCDDs) and dibenzofurans (PCDFs) in these samples were measured with high-resolution chromatography (HRGC)/High Resolution Mass Spectrometer (HRMS). The concentrations of total PCDD/Fs and toxic equivalent (TEQ) were 169.83±119.63 and 0.81±0.36 pg/g dry weight (dw) in sediments, and 580.33±240.17 and 7.24±3.65 pg/g dw in bivalves. The homolog compositions of PCDD/Fs were similar among samples, the most abundant congener was octa-chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin (OCDD) and then octa-chlorinated dibenzofuran (OCDF) and 1,2,3,4,6,7,8-hepta-chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin (HpCDD). The herbicide pentachlorophenol (PCP) and sodium pentachlorophenol (Na-PCP) were proved the main source of PCDD/Fs in this area. 展开更多

Adsorption of Pentachlorophenol onto Oxide and Clay Minerals: Surface Reaction Model and Environmental Implications

The adsorption of pentachlorophenol (PCP) onto quartz, kaolinite, illite, montmorillonite and iron oxides has been investigated by batch equilibrium techniques. The pH-dependent isotherms are curves with peak values, the position of which is at about pH = 5-6 depending on the mineral species. Based on distribution of both speciation of surface hydroxyls on minerals and PCP in solution a surface reaction model involving surface complexation and surface electrostatic attraction is presented to fit the pH-dependent isotherms, and both reaction constants are calculated. The results show that on quartz and phyllosilicate minerals the predominant adsorption reaction is surface complexation, meanwhile both of surface electrostatic attraction and surface complexation are involved on the iron oxide minerals. The reaction constants of surface electrostatic adsorption are usually one to three orders in magnitude, larger than that of surface complexation. The concentration-dependent isotherms can be well fitted by Langmnir equation with the correlation coefficient R〉0.93 for kaolinite and iron oxides. The maximum adsorption is found in the order: hematite 〉 lepidocrocite 〉 goethite 〉 kaolinite 〉 quartz 〉 montmorillonite ≈ illite, which can be interpreted by consideration of both reaction mechanism and surface hydroxyl density. The significant adsorption of PCP onto mineral surfaces suggests that clay and iron oxide minerals will play an important role as HIOCs are adsorbed in laterite or latertoid soil, which is widespread in South China. 展开更多
