Emerging long-range industrial IoT applications(e.g.,remote patient monitoring)have increasingly higher requirements for global deterministic delay.Although many existing methods have built deterministic networks in small-scale networks through centralized computing and resource reservation,they cannot be applied on a global scale.The emerging mega-constellations enable new opportunities for realizing deterministic delay globally.As one constellation(e.g.,Starlink)might be managed by a single operator(e.g.,SpaceX),packets can be routed within deterministic number of hops.Moreover,the path diversity brought by the highly symmetrical network structure in mega-constellations can help to construct a congestion free network by routing.This paper leverages these unique characteristics of mega-constellations to avoid the traditional network congestion caused by multiple inputs and single output,and to determine the routing hops,and thus realizing a global deterministic network(DETSPACE).The model based on the 2D Markov chain theoretically verifies the correctness of DETSPACE.The effectiveness of DETSPACE in different traffic load con-ditions is also verified by extensive simulations. 展开更多

Noncommutative metasurfaces enabled diverse quantum path entanglement of structured photons

Quantum entanglement, a fundamental concept in quantum mechanics, lies at the heart of many current and futurequantum technologies. A pivotal task is the generation and control of diverse quantum entangled states in a more compactand flexible manner. Here, we introduce an approach to achieve diverse path entanglement by exploiting the interactionbetween noncommutative metasurfaces and entangled photons. Different from other path entanglements, ourquantum path entanglement is evolution path entanglement of photons on Poincaré sphere. Due to quantum entanglementbetween idler photons and structured signal photons, evolution path of idler photons on the fundamental Poincarésphere can be nonlocally mirrored by structured signal photons on any higher-order Poincaré sphere, resulting in quantumpath entanglement. Benefiting from noncommutative metasurfaces, diverse quantum path entanglement can beswitched across different higher-order Poincaré spheres using distinct combination sequences of metasurfaces. Ourmethod allows for the tuning of diverse quantum path entanglement across a broad spectrum of quantum states, offeringa significant advancement in the manipulation of quantum entanglement. 展开更多

Distributing real-time video stream in large scale group communication over Interuet poses several challenging problems due to the complex network dynamics, stringent requirement of delay and loss. This paper proposes a novel peer-to-peer scheme, named TeamCast, to combat with these issues. Constructing multiple diverse application layer multicast (ALM) trees to transmit multiple independent complementary descriptions produced by multiple description coding (MDC) simultaneously, TeamCast improves error resilient ability in the presence of various levels of packet loss caused by unpredictable congestion of Internet and node failure, as well as enlarges system capacity. The results of extensive simulations indicate that TeamCast achieves low latency, scalability, and fault tolerance for the delivery of live media stream. 展开更多
