Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors(PMSMs)are widely employed in high-performance drive applications due to their superior efficiency and dynamic capabilities. However, their control remains challenging owing to nonlinear dynamics, parameter variations, and unmeasurable external disturbances, particularly load torquefluctuations. This study proposes an enhanced Interconnection and Damp-ing Assignment Passivity-Based Control(IDA-PBC)scheme,formulated within the port-controlled Hamiltonian(PCH)framework,to address these limitations.A nonlinear disturbance observer is embedded to estimate and compensate,in real time, for lumped mis-matched disturbances arising from parameter uncertainties and external loads.Additionally,aflatness-based control strategy is employed to generate the desired current references within the nonlinear drive system, ensuring accurate tracking of time-varying speed commands. This integrated approach preserves the system’s energy-based structure, enabling systematic stability analysis while enhancing robustness. The proposed control architecture also maintains low complexity with a limited number of tunable parameters, facilitating practical implementation.Simulation and experimental results under various operating conditions demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed method.Comparative analysis with conventional proportional-integral(PI)control and standard IDA-PBC strategies confirms its capability to handle disturbances and maintain dynamic performance. 展开更多

This paper highlights the utilization of parallel control and adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) for event-triggered robust parallel optimal consensus control(ETRPOC) of uncertain nonlinear continuous-time multiagent systems(MASs).First, the parallel control system, which consists of a virtual control variable and a specific auxiliary variable obtained from the coupled Hamiltonian, allows general systems to be transformed into affine systems. Of interest is the fact that the parallel control technique's introduction provides an unprecedented perspective on eliminating the negative effects of disturbance. Then, an eventtriggered mechanism is adopted to save communication resources while ensuring the system's stability. The coupled HamiltonJacobi(HJ) equation's solution is approximated using a critic neural network(NN), whose weights are updated in response to events. Furthermore, theoretical analysis reveals that the weight estimation error is uniformly ultimately bounded(UUB). Finally, numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed ETRPOC method. 展开更多

Continuous control protocols are extensively utilized in traditional MASs,in which information needs to be transmitted among agents consecutively, therefore resulting in excessive consumption of limited resources. To decrease the control cost, based on ISC,several LFC problems are investigated for second-order MASs without and with time delay, respectively.Firstly,an intermittent sampled controller is designed, and a sufficient and necessary condition is derived, under which state errors between the leader and all the followers approach zero asymptotically.Considering that time delay is inevitable,a new protocol is proposed to deal with the time-delay situation. The error system’s stability is analyzed using the Schur stability theorem, and sufficient and necessary conditions for LFC are obtained, which are closely associated with the coupling gain, the system parameters, and the network structure.Furthermore, for the case where the current position and velocity information are not available,a distributed protocol is designed that depends only on the sampled position information. The sufficient and necessary conditions for LFC are also given. The results show that second-order MASs can achieve the LFC if and only if the system parameters satisfy the inequalities proposed in the paper. Finally, the correctness of the obtained results is verified by numerical simulations. 展开更多

This research paper tackles the complexities of achieving global fuzzy consensus in leader-follower systems in robotic systems, focusing on robust control systems against an advanced signal attack that integrates sensor and actuator disturbances within the dynamics of follower robots. Each follower robot has unknown dynamics and control inputs, which expose it to the risks of both sensor and actuator attacks. The leader robot, described by a secondorder,time-varying nonlinear model, transmits its position, velocity, and acceleration information to follower robots through a wireless connection. To handle the complex setup and communication among robots in the network,we design a robust hybrid distributed adaptive control strategy combining the effect of sensor and actuator attack, which ensures asymptotic consensus, extending beyond conventional bounded consensus results. The proposed framework employs fuzzy logic systems(FLSs)as proactive controllers to estimate unknown nonlinear behaviors, while also effectively managing sensor and actuator attacks, ensuring stable consensus among all agents. To counter the impact of the combined signal attack on follower dynamics,a specialized robust control mechanism is designed, sustaining system stability and performance under adversarial conditions. The efficiency of this control strategy is demonstrated through simulations conducted across two different directed communication topologies, underscoring the protocol’s adaptability, resilience, and effectiveness in maintaining global consensus under complex attack scenarios. 展开更多

This paper presents a novel neuro-adaptive cellular immunotherapy control strategy that leverages the high efficiency and applicability of chimeric antigen receptor-engineered T(CAR-T)cells in treating cancer. The proposed real-time control strategy aims to maximize tumor regression while ensuring the safety of the treatment.A dynamic growth model of cancer cells under the influence of cellular immunotherapy is established for the first time, which aligns with clinical experimental results.Utilizing the backstepping method,a novel consensus reference model is designed to consider the characteristics of cancer cell changes during the treatment process and conform to clinical rules. The model is segmented and continuous, with cancer cells expected to decrease in a step-like manner.Furthermore,a prescribed performance mechanism is constructed to maintain the therapeutic effect of the proposed scheme while ensuring the transient performance of the system.Through the analysis of Lyapunov stability, all signals within the closed-loop system are proven to be semiglobally uniformly ultimately bounded(SGUUB).Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, highlighting its potential for clinical application in cancer treatment. 展开更多

In this paper, the multi-agent systems(MASs) typically with heterogeneous unknown nonlinearities and nonidentical unknown control coefficients are studied. Although the model information of MASs is coarse, the leader-following consensus is still pursued, with a prescribed performance and zero consensus errors. Leveraging a powerful funnel control strategy, a fully distributed and completely relative-state-dependent protocol is designed. Distinctively, the time-varying function characterizing the performance boundary is introduced, not only to construct the funnel gains but also as an indispensable part of the protocol, enhancing the control ability and enabling the consensus errors to converge to zero(rather than a residual set). Remark that when control directions are unknown, coexisting with inherent system nonlinearities, it is essential to incorporate an additional compensation mechanism while imposing a hierarchical structure of communication topology for the control design and analysis. Simulation examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results. 展开更多

This paper investigates the secure impulsive consensus of Lipschitz-type nonlinear multi-agent systems(MASs) with input saturation. According to the coupling of input saturation and denial of service(DoS) attacks, impulsive control for MASs becomes extremely challenging. Considering general DoS attacks, this paper provides the sufficient conditions for the almost sure consensus of the MASs with input saturation, where the error system can achieve almost sure local exponential stability.Through linear matrix inequalities(LMIs), the relation between the trajectory boundary and DoS attacks is characterized, and the trajectory boundary is estimated. Furthermore, an optimization method of the domain of attraction is proposed to maximize the size. And a non-conservative and practical boundary is proposed to characterize the effect of DoS attacks on MASs. Finally, considering a multi-agent system with typical Chua's circuit dynamic model, an example is provided to illustrate the theorems' correctness. 展开更多

Distributed matrix-scaled consensus is a kind of generalized cooperative control problem and has broad applications in the field of social network and engineering. This paper addresses the robust distributed matrix-scaled consensus of perturbed multi-agent systems suffering from unknown disturbances.Distributed discontinuous protocols are first proposed to drive agents to achieve cluster consensus and suppress the effect of disturbances.Adaptive protocols with time-varying gains obeying differential equations are also designed, which are completely distributed and rely on no global information.Using the boundary layer technique, smooth protocols are proposed to avoid the unexpected chattering effect due to discontinuous functions. As a cost, under the designed smooth protocols, the defined matrix-scaled consensus error tends to a residual set rather than zero,in which the residual bound is arbitrary small by choosing proper parameters. Moreover, distributed dynamic event-based matrix-scalar consensus controllers are also proposed to avoid continuous communications.Simulation examples are provided to further verify the designed algorithms. 展开更多

This paper aims to study the leader-following consensus of linear multi-agent systems on undirected graphs.Specifically,we construct an adaptive event-based protocol that can be implemented in a fully distributed way by using only local relative information. This protocol is also resource-friendly as it will be updated only when the agent violates the designed event-triggering function.A sufficient condition is proposed for the leader-following consensus of linear multi-agent systems based on the Lyapunov approach, and the Zeno-behavior is excluded. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results. 展开更多

This paper investigates the consensus control of multi-agent systems(MASs) with constrained input using the dynamic event-triggered mechanism(ETM).Consider the MASs with small-scale networks where a centralized dynamic ETM with global information of the MASs is first designed. Then,a distributed dynamic ETM which only uses local information is developed for the MASs with large-scale networks. It is shown that the semi-global consensus of the MASs can be achieved by the designed bounded control protocol where the Zeno phenomenon is eliminated by a designable minimum inter-event time.In addition,it is easier to find a trade-off between the convergence rate and the minimum inter-event time by an adjustable parameter.Furthermore, the results are extended to regional consensus of the MASs with the bounded control protocol.Numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed approach. 展开更多

This paper presents a distributed control protocol for consensus control of multi-agent systems(MASs) under external disturbances and network imperfections, including communication delay and random packet dropout. To comply with the discrete nature of networked systems, in contrast to most of the existing work for MASs under network imperfections, the agents are modeled by discrete-time dynamics. The communication network is considered to be undirected, its delay is considered to be time-varying but bounded, and its packet dropout is modeled by a Bernoulli distributed white sequence.Sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs)for asymptotic mean-square consensus stability are derived under network imperfections without considering external disturbances.A desired disturbance attenuation level in the presence of both external disturbances and network imperfections is also provided.A simulation example is given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach in coping with network imperfection and disturbances. 展开更多

Consensus tracking control problems for single-integrator dynamics of multi-agent systems with switching topology are investigated. In order to design effective consensus tracking protocols for a more general class of networks, which are aimed at ensuring that the concerned states of agents converge to a constant or time-varying reference state, new consensus tracking protocols with a constant and time-varying reference state are proposed, respectively. Particularly, by contrast with spanning tree, an improved condition of switching interaction topology is presented. And then, convergence analysis of two consensus tracking protocols is provided by Lyapunov stability theory. Moreover, consensus tracking protocol with a time-varying reference state is extended to achieve the fbrmation control. By introducing formation structure set, each agent can gain its individual desired trajectory. Finally, several simulations are worked out to illustrate the effectiveness of theoretical results. The test results show that the states of agents can converge to a desired constant or time-varying reference state. In addition, by selecting appropriate structure set, agents can maintain the expected formation under random switching interaction topologies. 展开更多

This paper studies the consensus control of multiagent systems with binary-valued observations. An algorithm alternating estimation and control is proposed. Each agent estimates the states of its neighbors based on a projected empirical measure method for a holding time.Based on the estimates, each agent designs the consensus control with a constant gain at some skipping time. The states of the system are updated by the designed control, and the estimation and control design will be repeated. For the estimation, the projected empirical measure method is proposed for the binary-valued observations. The algorithm can ensure the uniform boundedness of the estimates and the mean square error of the estimation is proved to be at the order of the reciprocal of the holding time(the same order as that in the case of accurate outputs). For the consensus control,a constant gain is designed instead of the stochastic approximation based gain in the existing literature for binary-valued observations. And,there is no need to make modification for control since the uniform boundedness of the estimates ensures the uniform boundedness of the agents’states. Finally, the systems updated by the designed control are proved to achieve consensus and the consensus speed is faster than that in the existing literature.Simulations are given to demonstrate the theoretical results. 展开更多

This paper investigates the consensus problem for linear multi-agent systems with the heterogeneous disturbances generated by the Brown motion. Its main contribution is that a control scheme is designed to achieve the dynamic consensus for the multi-agent systems in directed topology interfered by stochastic noise. In traditional ways, the coupling weights depending on the communication structure are static.A new distributed controller is designed based on Riccati inequalities, while updating the coupling weights associated with the gain matrix by state errors between adjacent agents.By introducing time-varying coupling weights into this novel control law,the state errors between leader and followers asymptotically converge to the minimum value utilizing the local interaction.Through the Lyapunov directed method and It?formula, the stability of the closed-loop system with the proposed control law is analyzed. Two simulation results conducted by the new and traditional schemes are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and advantage of the developed control method. 展开更多

In this paper, we design consensus algorithms for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). We mainly focus on the control design in the face of measurement noise and propose a position consensus controller based on the sliding mode control by using the distributed UAV information. Within the framework of Lyapunov theory, it is shown that all signals in the closed-loop multi- UAV systems are stabilized by the proposed algorithm, while consensus errors are uniformly ultimately bounded. Moreover, for each local UAV, we propose a mechanism to define the trustworthiness, based on which the edge weights are tuned to eliminate negative influence from stubborn agents or agents exposed to extremely noisy measurement.
