Specifically, the vocals contain a lot of knowledge, revealing details about the speaker’s goals and desires, as well as their internal condition. Certain vocal characteristics reveal the speaker’s mood, intention, and motivation, while word study assists the speaker’s demand to be understood. Voice emotion recognition has become an essential component of modern HCC networks. Integrating findings from the various disciplines involved in identifying vocal emotions is also challenging. Many sound analysis techniques were developed in the past. Learning about the development of artificial intelligence (AI), and especially Deep Learning (DL) technology, research incorporating real data is becoming increasingly common these days. Thus, this research presents a novel selfish herd optimization-tuned long/short-term memory (SHO-LSTM) strategy to identify vocal emotions in human communication. The RAVDESS public dataset is used to train the suggested SHO-LSTM technique. Mel-frequency cepstral coefficient (MFCC) and wiener filter (WF) techniques are used, respectively, to remove noise and extract features from the data. LSTM and SHO are applied to the extracted data to optimize the LSTM network’s parameters for effective emotion recognition. Python Software was used to execute our proposed framework. In the finding assessment phase, Numerous metrics are used to evaluate the proposed model’s detection capability, Such as F1-score (95%), precision (95%), recall (96%), and accuracy (97%). The suggested approach is tested on a Python platform, and the SHO-LSTM’s outcomes are contrasted with those of other previously conducted research. Based on comparative assessments, our suggested approach outperforms the current approaches in vocal emotion recognition.展开更多

文摘Objective:To explore the effect of evidence-based care on lower-limb thrombosis and negative emotions following hip arthroplasty. Methods:A total of 108 patients undergoing hip arthroplasty at our hospital were randomly assigned to the observation group(n=54,evidence-based care)and the control group(n=54,conventional care).Postoperative complications, negative emotions, quality of life, activities of daily living, and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results:The observation group had a lower incidence of lower-limb thrombosis and overall complications,as well as higher patient satisfaction than the control group(all P<0.05).One month after discharge, patients in the observation group showed significantly lower scores on the Hamilton Anxiety Scale, the Hamilton Depression Scale, and activities of daily living scale, but with increased Generic Quality of Life Inventory-74 scores, compared with before intervention(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Evidence-based care significantly relieves anxiety and depression, reduces the incidence of lower-limb thrombosis, and improves quality of life in patients after hip arthroplasty.
文摘Objectives:At the time of the bombing of the federal building in Oklahoma City,Oklahoma(OKC),it was the deadliest terrorist attack in the United States of America.Available research on this incident, and in general, has been quantitative, using deductive methods. The purpose of the current study was to systematically examine professional disaster response workers’emotions elicited spontaneously and in detail as they were experienced over time after a major disaster. This qualitative study will add to existing knowledge of psychopathology and the psychosocial effects of disasters on professional responders, which have not been explored by prior quantitative studies. Methods:A volunteer sample of 181 rescue and recovery workers for the 1995 bombing of the OKC Murrah Federal Building was interviewed approximately 3 years after the bombing. These responders were asked open-ended questions to elicit undirected responses in their own words. In these interviews, they were prompted to describe their feelings at 3 distinct time points:upon their arrival at the bombing scene(“immediately”),in the first 1 week following the bombing, and currently at the time of the interview(“now”).Results:Data items were coded into the 5 themes:Anticipation,Shock and awe,Negative reactions,Positive reactions, and Emotionally unengaged/unaffected.The emotional themes of the responders mapped into 2 conceptual domains. The first domain is related to common human responses to horrible events such as the bombing. The second domain is related to the professional identities of the disaster responders. Conclusions:Specific aspects of the professional responder roles asserted themselves, shaping their emotional responses distinctly from those of the bomb blast survivors. This study identified both negative and positive emotions, which may help identify risk for or resistance to posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD).
文摘Objective:To analyze the effect of interventional nursing on the therapeutic effect, negative emotion and quality of life of patients undergoing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventional therapy.Methods:Eighty-four patients who received cardio-cerebral vascular interventional therapy in a hospital during January 2024–December 2024 were selected, and were divided into the control group and the observation group by the mean score method, each with 42 cases. The control group was given standardized perioperative care, and the observation group was given interventional nursing intervention on this basis. The two groups were compared in terms of clinical efficacy, negative emotion score, incidence of related complications, quality of life score and nursing satisfaction. Results:The total effective rate of treatment of patients in the observation group(95.24%)was significantly higher than that of the control group(78.57%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);before nursing care, the difference between SDS and SAS scores of patients in the two groups was insignificant(P>0.05);after nursing care, the scores of various indexes of the two groups were significantly reduced and the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the patients in the observation group had more negative moods than those in the control group;the complication rate of patients in the observation group(2.38%)was significantly lower than that of the control group(19.04%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the quality of life scores of patients in the observation group were higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the satisfaction rate of patients’nursing care in the observation group was 97.62%,which was higher than that of the control group(78.57%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of interventional nursing intervention for patients with cardiovascular and cerebrovascular interventional therapy can further enhance the clinical therapeutic effect, improve the negative emotions of patients’anxiety and depression, reduce the risk of related complications, improve the quality of life of patients, and obtain higher satisfaction.
文摘This study employed a mixed methods approach to investigate the impact of learner and teacher variables on foreign language enjoyment(FLE)and foreign language anxiety(FLA)among 250 high school English learners in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region,China,a group that has so far been under-researched.Quantitative analysis results indicated a prevalence of FLE over FLA,demonstrating a significant negative correlation between these emotional dimensions. However, complete overlap between these emotions was not observed.Utilizing multiple regression models in R revealed main effects of Grade,Self-reported English Proficiency,Learners’Attitudes towards Teachers, and Teachers’Frequency of English Use on FLE.Conversely, only self-reported English Proficiency exhibited a main effect on FLA.Unlike most prior studies, gender did not exhibit a main effect;however,it interacted with Grade in influencing FLE and interacted with Learners’Attitudes towards Teachers regarding FLA.Qualitative analysis of participant responses elucidated factors contributing to enjoyable experiences, encompassing authentic English usage,self-recognition,teacher recognition and peer recognition.Conversely, factors such as mistakes made in assignments and unpreparedness for lessons, triggered anxious experiences. The pedagogical implication underscores that the classroom emotional climate is co-shaped by both students and teachers, with teachers playing a pivotal role in fostering FLE.
文摘Higher education is transitioning from mass expansion to high-quality development. In this process, mental health issues among college students have become increasingly prominent, encompassing not only academic stress-induced anxiety but also complex challenges such as interpersonal adaptation difficulties and career planning confusion.Traditional“problem-oriented”intervention models have shown limitations in responsiveness and adaptability, often only passively addressing existing psychological crises rather than preventing them in advance. This study aims to explore an AI-powered“positive psychology”proactive intervention model through developing an intelligent system. The system automatically collects, filters, and personalizes recommendations for positive activities on campus.Using a randomized controlled trial design,we conducted an 8-week intervention study involving 126 college students at a university. The study found that AI-based“campus positive activity”recommendations effectively boost students’positive emotions and promote psychological capital development through cumulative micro-interventions.This provides universities with empirical evidence and innovative methods to implement low-cost,efficient,and scalable mental health promotion programs through smart technology.

文摘BACKGROUND Grief counseling has become relatively established and is widely used among the families of cancer patients, effectively alleviating their psychological pain. However,in China, due to the influence of Confucianism and other traditional cultures, people generally adhere to the belief of“reincarnation to avoid death”,focusing more on themes of life, such as eugenics and longevity, and paying less attention to matters related to death, including death education and grief counseling.Currently, grief counseling in China is still in an exploratory stage, and there is relatively little research on the psychological status of family members of patients with terminal tumors.AIM To investigate the psychological effects of grief counseling on family members of terminal cancer patients.METHODS This study was designed as a randomized controlled trial that utilized convenience sampling to select family members of terminal tumor patients who were admitted to the hospice ward of the Affiliated Hospital of Jiangnan University from January to June 2025 as research subjects. All participants received conventional symptomatic supportive treatment and palliative care.Additionally, the intervention group benefited from extra grief counseling.RESULTS The Distress Thermometer(DT)score of the control group slightly decreased compared to before the intervention, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).In contrast, the DT score of the intervention group decreased significantly compared to before the intervention, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After the intervention, the DT score of the intervention group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was also statistically significant(P<0.05).After the intervention, the intervention group performed better DT level than the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05),the intervention group outperformed the control group in terms of depression and anxiety, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Grief counseling can help alleviate the psychological pain and negative emotions experienced by family members of patients with terminal malignant tumors.
文摘This comparative study examines cultural empathy strategies employed by two major international broadcasters-BBC(British Broadcasting Corporation)and CGTN(China Global Television Network)-in their efforts to balance local emotional resonance with universal values in global communication.Through a mixed-methods approach combining content analysis of 2,400 news reports, interviews with 32 media professionals, and audience reception studies across 15 countries, this research investigates how international media organizations navigate the complex terrain of cross-cultural communication in an increasingly interconnected world. The findings reveal significant differences in empathy strategies:BBC employs a“universalist-localized”approach emphasizing shared human experiences while maintaining Western liberal values, achieving 67.3%cross-cultural resonance scores, while CGTN adopts a“particularist-global”strategy highlighting cultural diversity within a framework of mutual understanding, achieving 61.8%resonance scores. Both organizations face challenges in balancing authentic cultural representation with audience accessibility, managing 73.4%and 68.9%cultural authenticity ratings respectively. The study identifies five key empathy strategies:narrative localization, cultural bridging, emotional universalization, value harmonization, and contextual adaptation. Results indicate that successful cultural empathy requires sophisticated understanding of target audiences’cultural schemas while maintaining editorial authenticity. The research contributes to international communication theory by proposing a Cultural Empathy Framework(CEF)that explains how media organizations can effectively navigate the tension between local emotions and universal values in global broadcasting contexts.
文摘Maintaining optimal quality of life(QoL)is a pivotal for“successful aging”.Understanding how the QoL of the elderly develops and what role psychological factors play in its development will help improve QoL from a psychological perspective.Embedded within the lifespan theory of control, this longitudinal study aimed to(1)map the temporal trajectory of QoL among Chinese older adults,(2)examine differential effects of tripartite negative emotions(stress,anxiety,depression),and(3)test themoderating role of control strategies(goal engagement, goal disengagement,self-protection)in emotion-QoL dynamics.A prospective cohort of 345 community-dwelling older adults(Mage=83.84±8.49 years;55.1%female)completed validated measures-SF-36 for QoL,DASS-21 for negative emotions, and an adapted Control Strategies Questionnaire(CAS)-at three waves spanning 12 months.Hierarchical linear modeling(HLM)with time-nested structure analyzed intraindividual changes and interindividual differences.QoL exhibited a significant linear decline over time(β=−4.75,p<0.001).Stress(β=−14.12,p<0.001)and anxiety(β=−11.24,p<0.001)robustly predicted QoL decline, whereas depression showed no significant effect.Control strategies had divergent associations:goal engagement(β=3.51,p<0.001)and self-protection(β=2.38,p=0.015)predicted higher baseline QoL,while goal disengagement accelerated decline(β=−7.00,p<0.001;interaction with time:β=−2.46,p<0.001).Contrary to hypotheses, control strategies did not moderate emotion-QoL associations(ΔR2=0.02,p=0.21).The results showed that stress and anxiety played an important role in the QoL of the elderly. At the same time, goal engagement and self-protection were beneficial to the QoL of the elderly, while goal disengagement was not conducive to QoL and its development among the elderly.Meanwhile, the negative effect of anxiety and stress on the QoL of the elderly was not affected by the control strategies.

文摘BACKGROUND Visceral hypersensitivity is the core pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)and is often accompanied by negative emotions such as anxiety or depression.Paraventricular hypothalamic nucleus(PVN)corticotropin-releasing factor(CRF)is involved in the stress-related gastrointestinal dysfunction.Electroacupuncture(EA)has unique advantages for the treatment of visceral hypersensitivity and negative emotions in IBS patients. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.AIM To investigate the pathological mechanisms visceral hypersensitivity and negative emotions in IBS,as well as the effect mechanism of EA.METHODS A model of diarrhoeal IBS(IBS-D)with negative emotions was prepared by chronic restraint combined with glacial acetic acid enema. The effect of EA was verified by abdominal withdrawal reflex and open-field test.PVN CRFcolonic mast cell(MC)/transient potential receptor vanilloid type 1(TRPV1)pathway was detected by immunofluorescence,Western blot,ELISA,and toluidine blue staining. Moreover,PVN CRFergic neurons were activated or inhibited by chemogenetical technique to observe the changes of effect indicator.RESULTS In the model group,IBS-D symptoms and negative emotions were successfully induced.Notably, the combination of Baihui(GV20)with Tianshu(ST25)and Dachangshu(BL25)acupoints showed the greatest efficacy in improving the negative emotions and visceral hypersensitivity in model mice.Furthermore,we found that EA inhibited overactivated PVN CRFergic neurons and the overexpression of serum CRF,colonic CRF,CRF-receptor 1(CRFR1),mast cell tryptase(MCT),protease-activated receptor 2 and TRPV1 in model mice. Moreover,we found that activating PVN CRFergic neurons induced negative emotions and visceral hypersensitivity in normal mice;however, inhibiting PVN CRFergic neurons alleviated negative emotions and intestinal symptoms in model mice and decreased the expression of colonic CRF-R1,MCT,and TRPV1.CONCLUSION This research highlights the key role of PVN CRF-MC CRF-R1 and the downstream MC/TRPV1 pathway in the pathological process of IBS-D and the mechanism of the effect of EA.
文摘BACKGROUND The prevalence of negative emotional states, such as anxiety and depression, has increased annually.Although personal habits are known to influence emotional regulation, the precise mechanisms underlying this relationship remain unclear.AIM To investigate emotion regulation habits impact on students negative emotions during lockdown, using the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic as a case example.METHODS During the coronavirus disease 2019 lockdown,an online cross-sectional survey was conducted at a Chinese university.Emotional states were assessed using the Depression,Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21(DASS-21),while demographic data and emotion regulation habits were collected concurrently.Data analysis was performed using SPSS version 27.0 and includedχ^(2)-tests for intergroup comparisons,Spearman’s rank-order correlation coefficient analysis to examine associations, and stepwise linear regression modeling to explore the relationships between emotion regulation habits and emotional states.Statistical significance was set atα=0.05.RESULTS Among the 494 valid questionnaires analyzed, the prevalence rates of negative emotional states were as follows:Depression(65.0%),anxiety(69.4%),and stress(50.8%).DASS-21 scores(mean±SD)demonstrated significant symptomatology:Total(48.77±34.88),depression(16.21±12.18),anxiety(14.90±11.91),and stress(17.64±12.07).Significant positive intercorrelations were observed among all DASS-21 subscales(P<0.01).Regression analysis identified key predictors of negative emotions(P<0.05):Risk factors included late-night frequency and academic pressure, while protective factors were the frequency of parental contact and the number of same-gender friends.Additionally, compensatory spending and binge eating positively predicted all negative emotion scores(β>0,P<0.01),whereas appropriate recreational activities negatively predicted these scores(β<0,P<0.01).CONCLUSION High negative emotion prevalence occurred among confined students.Recreational activities were protective, while compensatory spending and binge eating were risk factors, necessitating guided emotion regulation.
文摘The Double Take column looks at a single topic from an African and Chinese perspective. This month,we discuss how to understand the growing emphasis on emotional returns among young people.Emotional value has emerged as a central force shaping youth decision-making across work, consumption, relationships and lifestyle choices.Unlike traditional economic rationality that prioritises income and material security, emotional value focuses on how choices make individuals feel and how they align with personal meaning. This shift is particularly evident in rapidly transforming societies such as China and Ghana, where economic restructuring, globalisation and social change have reshaped pathways to adulthood.

文摘In multi-modal emotion recognition, excessive reliance on historical context often impedes the detection of emotional shifts, while modality heterogeneity and unimodal noise limit recognition performance.Existing methods struggle to dynamically adjust cross-modal complementary strength to optimize fusion quality and lack effective mechanisms to model the dynamic evolution of emotions. To address these issues,we propose a multi-level dynamic gating and emotion transfer framework for multi-modal emotion recognition.A dynamic gating mechanism is applied across unimodal encoding,cross-modal alignment, and emotion transfer modeling, substantially improving noise robustness and feature alignment.First,we construct a unimodal encoder based on gated recurrent units and feature-selection gating to suppress intra-modal noise and enhance contextual representation.Second,we design a gated-attention crossmodal encoder that dynamically calibrates the complementary contributions of visual and audio modalities to the dominant textual features and eliminates redundant information. Finally,we introduce a gated enhanced emotion transfer module that explicitly models the temporal dependence of emotional evolution in dialogues via transfer gating and optimizes continuity modeling with a comparative learning loss.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art models on the public MELD and IEMOCAP datasets.

文摘This study examined the positive changes that water-based nail treatments can bring to emotions and behavior in children who do not attend school and use a place for school-refusing children.Children who do not attend school and use a place for school-refusing children were given water-based nail treatments about once a week for three months. In addition, the parents of these children were asked to respond to questions about their children’s daily activities. The results showed that natural communication through nail treatments significantly increased positive emotions. However, continued nail treatments did not reduce the children’s problem behaviors. Some children returned to school, while others continued not attending school.Increased frequency of visits and number of treatments confirmed the promotion of communication. It was suggested that building positive relationships with family and supporters is important for achieving sustained effects from nail treatments. This study showed that nail treatments are a useful tool for promoting positive emotions,self-acceptance,and social skills, and may contribute to the emotional growth and social interest of children who do not attend school.

文摘Voice, motion, and mimicry are naturalistic control modalities that have replaced text or display-driven control in human-computer communication (HCC). Based on comparative assessments, our suggested approach outperforms the current approaches in vocal emotion recognition.
