Dear Editor,Cadmium(Cd)is a toxic heavy metal that restricts plant growth,and its accumulation in rice grains poses a potential threat to human health.Plants have evolved various mechanisms to cope with Cd toxicity,including modulation of Cd influx and efflux,vacuolar Cd compartmentalization,Cd chelation,and antioxidation(Chen et al.,2020;Chao and Chao,2025).Advancing our understanding of the genes associated with these processes will facilitate the breeding of crop varieties with enhanced Cd tolerance and reduced Cd accumulation in edible tissues. 展开更多
