The Jizhong-Yanbian Cu-Mo-Au-Pb-Zn polymetallic metallogenic belt is a major nonferrous and precious metal resource base in Northeastern China.The genesis of ore deposits in this district has remained controversial.To...The Jizhong-Yanbian Cu-Mo-Au-Pb-Zn polymetallic metallogenic belt is a major nonferrous and precious metal resource base in Northeastern China.The genesis of ore deposits in this district has remained controversial.To constrain ore genetic models and provide information for exploration,we conducted precise Zn-Cd isotopic measurements on sphalerite and galena.Theδ^(66)Zn_(AA-ETH)values of galena and sphalerite range from−0.07‰to 0.03‰and−0.68‰to−0.12‰,respectively;and theirδ^(114/110)Cd_(NIST SRM 3108)values vary from−0.96‰to 3.83‰and−0.63‰to 0.77‰,respectively.Our study suggests that the Xiaohongshilazi Pb-Zn-(Ag)deposit should be classified as a Mississippi Valley Type(MVT)-like deposit,because both its geological,sulfide trace elemental,and S-Pb-Fe-Zn-Cd isotopic characteristics are similar to those of the typical MVT deposit,except for the differences of the wall rocks.Rayleigh fractionation during sphalerite precipitation is identified as the primary mechanism for Zn-Cd isotopic variations,which is validated by the Zn-Cd fractionation models from 100℃to 250℃.Finally,we propose an ore prospecting model based on migration pathways of ore-forming fluid and the Zn isotopic fractionation model of sphalerite under 100℃.This model indicates potential resources undiscovered at shallow/peripheral and deep zones of current mining level in both the Eastern and Western Ore Block,with parts of the potential resources having been corroborated by recent drilling.Despite the complexity of mineralization,processes,this study provides new insights into the application of Zn-Cd isotopes in understanding ore genesis and guiding mineral exploration in similar contexts.展开更多

A very fast simulated annealing(VFSA) global optimization is used to interpret residual gravity anomaly.Since,VFSA optimization yields a large number of best-fitted models in a vast model space;the nature of uncerta...A very fast simulated annealing(VFSA) global optimization is used to interpret residual gravity anomaly.Since,VFSA optimization yields a large number of best-fitted models in a vast model space;the nature of uncertainty in the interpretation is also examined simultaneously in the present study.The results of VFSA optimization reveal that various parameters show a number of equivalent solutions when shape of the target body is not known and shape factor 'q' is also optimized together with other model parameters.The study reveals that amplitude coefficient k is strongly dependent on shape factor.This shows that there is a multi-model type uncertainty between these two model parameters derived from the analysis of cross-plots.However,the appraised values of shape factor from various VFSA runs clearly indicate whether the subsurface structure is sphere,horizontal or vertical cylinder type structure.Accordingly,the exact shape factor(1.5 for sphere,1.0 for horizontal cylinder and 0.5 for vertical cylinder)is fixed and optimization process is repeated.After fixing the shape factor,analysis of uncertainty and cross-plots shows a well-defined uni-model characteristic.The mean model computed after fixing the shape factor gives the utmost consistent results.Inversion of noise-free and noisy synthetic data as well as field data demonstrates the efficacy of the approach.展开更多
The gold concentration areas in the northwestern Jiaodong Peninsula constituted an important gold metallogenetic region in Eastern China during the Mesozoic.The deep geological bodies'texture characteristic is imp...The gold concentration areas in the northwestern Jiaodong Peninsula constituted an important gold metallogenetic region in Eastern China during the Mesozoic.The deep geological bodies'texture characteristic is important for exploring the resources thoroughly and understanding the metallogenic process.The detailed textures were revealed using high-resolution seismic profiles through the three major ore-controlling structures-Sanshandao fault zone,Jiaojia fault zone and Zhaoping fault zone.This study aims to establish a deep structural framework of this area.Based on their formation mechanism,the fault structures developed in the area can be divided into regional and local fault structures.The structural styles are characterised by superimposing their compressional,strike-slip and extensional multi-stage activities.The crust is cut by vertical structures corresponding to a left-lateral strike-slip fault system on the surface.Nearby these structures are the arc-shape structures formed by multi-stage magma intrusions into the upper crust.Bounded by the Tancheng–Lujiang and Muping–Jimo fault zones,the current Jiaodong block,developed a series of NE-trending strike-slip fault systems,was probably formed by the assemblage of several obliquely aligned blocks.The intensive magmatism and hydrothermal activity between the blocks induced large-scale mineralisation.It provides a new angle of view for understanding the cratonic destruction and large ore-concentration formed during the Mesozoic.展开更多
