The Convolutional-Multiple-Whole-Profile (CMWP) procedure is based on physical profile functions for dislocations, domain size, stacking faults and twin boundaries. Order dependence, strain anisotropy, hkl dependent broadening of planar defects and peak shape are used to separate the effect of different lattice defect types. The Marquardt-Levenberg (ML) numerical optimiza-tion procedure has been used successfully to determine crystal defect types and densities. However, in more complex cases like hexagonal materials or multiple phases the ML procedure alone reveals uncer-tainties. In a new approach the ML and a Monte-Carlo statistical method are combined in an alternative manner. The new CMWP procedure eliminates uncertainties and provides globally optimized parameters.展开更多

An individual layer cylindrical mould cannot withstand a very high pressure needed in polycrystalline diamond composite (PDC) production. So, multi-layer prepressure combination assemble moulds are often used. The analysis conducted here is to study the interaction of cylindrical layers and to explain how to obtain enough load capability with the lowest requirement of material performance. The ratio of the pressure cylinder radius of synthetic diamond is 3.27, which is close to the optimal value and can be used as structure size in a design for PDC bit compact die. There is a linear relationship between the internal and external pressures under a special tangent stress on the inner wall of the pressure cylinder. So, when two of the three parameters (the internal pressure, external pressure, and the requirement value of the tangent stress on the inner wall of the pressure cylinder) are given, the third can be obtained. The sleeve acts as a bridge?between the pressure cylinder and the steel belts. The optimum model developed in this paper can be used in PDC bit compact die design and other similar prestressed cold extrusion die design.展开更多

The streamlined die surfaces are interpolated by the arbitrarily cross sectional shapes of the die entrance and exit. The boundaries of the die entrance and exit are represented by Ferguson curves with tension parameters. By adjusting the tension parameter, the cross sectional shapes of the die entrance and exit with line segments can be accurately constructed. The upper bound method is used to analyze the procedure of extrusion, the pseudo independent parameters in kinematically admissible velocity and die surface are computed by minimizing the extrusion load, so the optimum die surface is obtained. The effects of frictional condition, die length, area reduction and product shaped complexity are discussed in relation to the extrusion load.展开更多

Compared with activated charcoal, molecular sieve, porous ceramics, hopcalite, the support prepared by the sol-gel method has higher activity. The characterization of the support by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) show that the mare crystal phase is Co2MnO4 and the average particle diameter is about 40 nm. The optimum conditions for synthesis of the support were determined by orthogonal experiments, which indicate that the proportion of Cu, Mn, and Co is the first important factor influencing the yield and selectivity of DPC. Temperature of calcination is the second one. The optimum conditions are: molar proportion of Cu, Mn, and Co being 1 : 1 : 1, temperature of calcination 700℃, drying at 100~C, temperature of water bath 85~C. The yield and selectivity of DPC in the process can reach 38% and 99% in the batch operation, respectively. The copper cobalt manganese mixed oxides chosen as the support contribute more to the high catalytic activity than the sol-gel method.展开更多

Recently, 2.5″ hard disk drives (HDDs) are widely used for mobile devices such as laptops, video cameras and car navigation systems. In mobile applications, high durability towards external vibrations and shocks are essentials to the bearings of HDD spindle motor. In addition, the bearing characteristics are influenced by manufacturing error because of small size of the bearings of HDD. In this paper, the geometrical optimization is carried out to maximize the bearing stiffness using sequential quadratic programming to improve vibration characteristics. Additionally, the bearing stiffness is analyzed considering dimensional tolerance of the bearing using statistical method. The dimensional tolerance is assumed to distribute according to the Gaussian distribution, and then the bearing stiffness is estimated by combining the expectation and standard deviation. As a result, in the robust optimum design, new groove geometry of bearing can be obtained in which the bearing stiffness is four times higher than the stiffness of conventional spiral groove bearing. Moreover, the bearing has lower variability compared with the result of optimum design neglecting dimensional tolerance.展开更多

Such feedback is detailedly analyzed from the viewpoint of equivalent damping. Firstly, the primary resonance of the controlled HSLDS vibration isolator subjected to a harmonic force excitation is obtained based on the multiple scales method and further verified by numerical integration. The stability of the primary resonance is subsequently investigated. Then, the equivalent damping is defined to study the effects of feedback gain and time delay on primary resonance. The condition of jump avoidance is obtained with the purpose of eliminating the adverse effects induced by jumps. Finally, the force transmissibility of the controlled HSLDS vibration isolator is defined to evaluate its isolation performance. It is shown that an appropriate choice of feedback parameters can effectively suppress the force transmissibility in resonant region and reduce the resonance frequency. Furthermore, a wider vibration isolation frequency bandwidth can be achieved compared to the passive HSLDS vibration isolator.展开更多

This paper describes the design of retarded fractional delay differential systems (RFDDSs) by the method of inequalities, in which the design problem is formulated so that it is suitable for solution by numerical methods. Zakian's original formulation, which was first proposed in connection with rational systems, is extended to the case of RFDDSs. In making the use of this formulation possible for RFDDSs, the associated stability problems are resolved by using the stability test and the numerical algorithm for computing the abscissa of stability recently developed by the authors. During the design process, the time responses are obtained by a known method for the numerical inversion of Laplace transforms. Two numerical examples are given, where fractional controllers are designed for a time-delay and a heat-conduction plants.展开更多

文摘A ratio approach based on the simple ratio test associated with the terms of homotopy series was proposed by the author in the previous publications. It was shown in the latter through various comparative physical models that the ratio approach of identifying the range of the convergence control parameter and also an optimal value for it in the homotopy analysis method is a promising alternative to the classically used h-level curves or to the minimizing the residual(squared)error.A mathematical analysis is targeted here to prove the equivalence of both the ratio approach and the traditional residual approach, especially regarding the root-finding problems via the homotopy analysis method.Examples are provided to further justify this. Moreover,it is conjectured that every nonlinear differential equation can be considered as a root-finding problem by plugging a parameter in it from a physical viewpoint. Two examples from the boundary and initial and value problems are provided to verify this assertion.Hence, besides the advantages as deciphered in the previous publications, the feasibility of the ratio approach over the traditional residual approach is made clearer in this paper.

文摘A strategy for time-delayed feedback control optimization of quasi linear systems with random excitation is proposed.First, the stochastic averaging method is used to reduce the dimension of the state space and to derive the stationary response of the system.Secondly, the control law is assumed to be velocity feedback control with time delay and the unknown control gains are determined by the performance indices. The response of the controlled system is predicted through solving the Fokker-Plank-Kolmogorov equation associated with the averaged Ito equation. Finally, numerical examples are used to illustrate the proposed control method, and the numerical results are confirmed by Monte Carlo simulation.

文摘The displacement feedback with time delay considered is introduced in order to enhance the vibration isolation performance of a high-static-low-dynamic stiffness(HSLDS) vibration isolator. Furthermore, a wider vibration isolation frequency bandwidth can be achieved compared to the passive HSLDS vibration isolator.

文摘Methods based on numerical optimization are useful and effective in the design of control systems. Two numerical examples are given, where fractional controllers are designed for a time-delay and a heat-conduction plants.
