It consists of a cavity connected to two quantum dots embedded between two electron reservoirs at different temperatures and chemical potentials. According to the Landauer formula the expressions for the heat current, the cooling rate and the coefficient of performance (COP) are derived analytically. The performance characteristic curves of the cooling rate versus the coefficient of performance are plotted with numerical calculation. The optimal regions of the cooling rate and the COP are determined. Moreover, we optimize the cooling rate and the COP with respect to the position of energy level of the right quantum dot, respectively. However, unreasonable design in the control schedule causes not only performance deterioration but also serious aerodynamic stability problems. Thus, in this work,a hybrid optimization method that automatically chooses the working modes and identifies the optimal and smooth control schedules is proposed, by combining the differential evolution algorithm and the Latin hypercube sampling method. The control schedule architecture does not only optimize the engine steady-state performance under different working modes but also solves the control-schedule discontinuity problem, especially during mode transition. The optimal control schedules are continuous and almost monotonic, and hence are strongly suitable for a control system, and are designed for two different working conditions, i.e., supersonic and subsonic throttling, which proves that the proposed hybrid method applies to various working conditions. The evaluation demonstrates that the proposed control method optimizes the engine performance, the surge margin of the compression components, and the range of the thrust during throttling.展开更多

By combining energy and mass balance equations with heat and mass transfer coefficients and air psychrometric correlations, the model provides insights into the impact of design and operational parameters on the exchanger cooling performance. Validated against an established numerical model, it accurately simulates cooling behavior with a Root Mean Square Deviation of 0.43 - 1.18˚C under varying inlet air conditions. The results show that tube geometry, including equivalent diameter, flatness ratio, and length significantly influences cooling outcomes. Smaller diameters enhance wet-bulb effectiveness but reduce cooling capacity, while increased flatness and length improve both. For example, extending the flatness ratio of a 15 mm diameter, 0.6 m long tube from 1 (circular) to 4 raises the exchange surface area from 0.028 to 0.037 m2, increasing wet-bulb effectiveness from 60% to 71%. Recommended diameters range from 5 mm for tubes under 0.5 m to 1 cm for tubes 0.5 to 1 m in length. Optimal air velocities depend on tube length: 1 m/s for tubes under 0.8 m, 1.5 m/s for lengths of 0.8 to 1.2 m, and up to 2 m/s for longer tubes. This model offers a practical alternative to complex numerical and CFD methods, with potential applications in cooling tower optimization for thermal and nuclear power plants and geothermal heat exchangers.展开更多

文摘Long-life energy storage batteries are integral to energy storage systems and electric vehicles, with lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)currently being the preferred option for extended usage-life energy storage. To further extend the life span of LIBs,it is essential to intensify investments in battery design, manufacturing processes, and the advancement of ancillary materials. The pursuit of long durability introduces new challenges for battery energy density. The advent of electrode material offers effective support in enhancing the battery’s long-duration performance.Often underestimated as part of the cathode composition, the binder plays a pivotal role in the longevity and electrochemical performance of the electrode.Maintaining the mechanical integrity of the electrode through judicious binder design is a fundamental requirement for achieving consistent long-life cycles and high energy density. This paper primarily concentrates on the commonly employed cathode systems in lithium-ion batteries, elucidates the significance of binders for both, discusses the application status, strengths, and weaknesses of novel binders, and ultimately puts forth corresponding optimization strategies. It underscores the critical function of binders in enhancing battery performance and advancing the sustainable development of lithium-ion batteries, aiming to offer fresh insights and perspectives for the design of high-performance LIBs.

文摘Lithium-ion batteries(LiBs)with high energy density have gained significant popularity in smart grids and portable electronics.LiMn_(1-x)Fe_(x)PO_(4)(LMFP)is considered a leading candidate for the cathode, with the potential to combine the low cost of Li Fe PO_(4)(LFP)with the high theoretical energy density of LiMnPO_(4)(LMP).However,quantitative investigation of the intricate coupling between the Fe/Mn ratio and the resulting energy density is challenging due to the parametric complexity. It is crucial to develop a universal approach for the rapid construction of multi-parameter mapping. In this work,we propose an active learning-guided high-throughput workflow for quantitatively predicting the Fe/Mn ratio and the energy density mapping of LMFP.An optimal composition(LiMn_(0.66)Fe_(0.34)PO_(4))was effectively screened from 81 cathode materials via only 5 samples.Model-guided electrochemical analysis revealed a nonlinear relationship between the Fe/Mn ratio and electrochemical properties, including ion mobility and impedance, elucidating the quantitative chemical composition-energy density map of LMFP.The results demonstrated the efficacy of the method in high-throughput screening of LiBs cathode materials.
文摘Electron beam fluorescence technology is an advanced non-contact measurement in rarefied flow fields, and the fluorescence signal intensity is positively correlated with the electron beam current. The ion bombardment secondary emission electron gun is suitable for the technology. To enhance the beam current,COMSOL simulations and analyses were conducted to examine plasma density distribution in the discharge chamber under the effects of various conditions and the electric field distribution between the cathode and the spacer gap.The anode shape and discharge pressure conditions were optimized to increase plasma density.Additionally,an improved spacer structure was designed with the dual purpose of enhancing the electric field distribution between the cathode-spacer gaps and improving vacuum differential effects. This design modification aims to increase the pass rate of secondary electrons. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrated that the performance of the optimized electron gun was effectively enhanced. When the electrode voltage remains constant and the discharge gas pressure is adjusted to around 8 Pa,the maximum beam current was increased from 0.9 mA to 1.6 mA.
文摘This study develops an analytical model to evaluate the cooling performance of a porous terracotta tubular direct evaporative heat and mass exchanger. This model offers a practical alternative to complex numerical and CFD methods, with potential applications in cooling tower optimization for thermal and nuclear power plants and geothermal heat exchangers.
