Semantic segmentation provides important technical support for Land cover/land use(LCLU)research.By calculating the cosine similarity between feature vectors,transformer-based models can effectively capture the global information of high-resolution remote sensing images.However,the diversity of detailed and edge features within the same class of ground objects in high-resolution remote sensing images leads to a dispersed embedding distribution.The dispersed feature distribution enlarges feature vector angles and reduces cosine similarity,weakening the attention mechanism’s ability to identify the same class of ground objects.To address this challenge,remote sensing image information granulation transformer for semantic segmentation is proposed.The model employs adaptive granulation to extract common semantic features among objects of the same class,constructing an information granule to replace the detailed feature representation of these objects.Then,the Laplacian operator of the information granule is applied to extract the edge features of the object as represented by the information granule.In the experiments,the proposed model was validated on the Beijing Land-Use(BLU),Gaofen Image Dataset(GID),and Potsdam Dataset(PD).In particular,the model achieves 88.81%for mOA,82.64%for mF1,and 71.50%for mIoU metrics on the GID dataset.Experimental results show that the model effectively handles high-resolution remote sensing images.Our code is available at https://github.com/sjmp525/RSIGT(accessed on 16 April 2025). 展开更多

Numerical Simulation of the Atomization Process for Blast Furnace Slag Granulation

The so-called close-coupled gas atomization process involves melting a metal and using a high-pressure gas jet positioned close to the melt stream to rapidly break it into fine,spherical powder particles.This technique,adapted for blast furnace slag granulation using a circular seam nozzle,typically aims to produce solid slag particles sized 30–140μm,thereby allowing the utilization of slag as a resource.This study explores the atomization dynamics of liquid blast furnace slag,focusing on the effects of atomization pressure.Primary atomization is simulated using a combination of the Volume of Fluid(VOF)method and the Shear Stress Transport k-ωturbulence model,while secondary atomization is analyzed through the Discrete Phase Model(DPM).The results reveal that primary atomization progresses in three stages:the slag column transforms into an umbrella-shaped liquid film,whose leading edge fragments into particles while forming a cavity-like structure,which is eventually torn into ligaments.This primary deformation is driven by the interplay of airflow velocity in the recirculation zone and the guide tube outlet pressure(Fp).Increasing the atomization pressure amplifies airflow velocity,recirculation zone size,expansion and shock waves,though the guide tube outlet pressure variations remain irregular.Notably,at 4.5 MPa,the primary deformation is most pronounced.Secondary atomization yields finer slag particles as a result of more vigorous primary atomization.For this pressure,the smallest average particle size and the highest yield of particles within the target range(30–140μm)are achieved. 展开更多

With the rapid development of economy,air pollution caused by industrial expansion has caused serious harm to human health and social development.Therefore,establishing an effective air pollution concentration prediction system is of great scientific and practical significance for accurate and reliable predictions.This paper proposes a combination of pointinterval prediction system for pollutant concentration prediction by leveraging neural network,meta-heuristic optimization algorithm,and fuzzy theory.Fuzzy information granulation technology is used in data preprocessing to transform numerical sequences into fuzzy particles for comprehensive feature extraction.The golden Jackal optimization algorithm is employed in the optimization stage to fine-tune model hyperparameters.In the prediction stage,an ensemble learning method combines training results frommultiplemodels to obtain final point predictions while also utilizing quantile regression and kernel density estimation methods for interval predictions on the test set.Experimental results demonstrate that the combined model achieves a high goodness of fit coefficient of determination(R^(2))at 99.3% and a maximum difference between prediction accuracy mean absolute percentage error(MAPE)and benchmark model at 12.6%.This suggests that the integrated learning system proposed in this paper can provide more accurate deterministic predictions as well as reliable uncertainty analysis compared to traditionalmodels,offering practical reference for air quality early warning. 展开更多

Calcium carboaluminate was successfully prepared by a simple and efficient one-step method,and the effects of temperature,time,raw material ratio,carbonate type and heavy CaCO_(3)particle size on the products were investigated in detail.The results show that increasing the temperature and extending the reaction time can enhance the yield and crystallisation degree of calcium carboaluminate.The proportion of Ca(OH)_(2),Al(OH)_(3)and CaCO_(3)is a pivotal factor in the synthesis of calcium carboaluminate.When the ratio of Ca(OH)_(2),Al(OH)_(3)and CaCO_(3)is 3:2:1,the diffraction peaks of calcium carboaluminate in the products are relatively sharp and strong.Furthermore,the purity and crystallinity of the synthesized calcium carboaluminate are higher when heavy CaCO_(3)with the particle size of 120 mesh is used as the carbonate raw material,in comparison to CO_(2),Na_(2)CO_(3)and light CaCO_(3).As results,a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of calcium carboaluminate is proposed,which will provide a solid experimental foundation and technical support for the industrial application of calcium carboaluminate in marine concrete. 展开更多

The three-dimensional(3D) Pd-based nanoflower structures,assembled from two-dimensional(2D)nanosheets,are characterized by their stable and ordered configurations.These structures have been extensively designed as anode materials for fuel cells.However,the exploration of trimetallic nanoflowers with porous architectures remains limited.In this study,we present a straightforward one-step solvothermal method for the synthesis of trimetallic Pd Cu Ni porous nanoflowers(PNFs).Leveraging several unique advantages,such as an open superstructure,high porosity,and enhanced electronic interactions among the trimetals,the resulting Pd Cu Ni PNFs demonstrate significantly improved electrochemical performance,with mass activities reaching 5.94 and 10.14 A/mg for the ethanol oxidation reaction(EOR)and the ethylene glycol oxidation reaction(EGOR),respectively.Furthermore,the Pd Cu Ni PNFs exhibit optimized d-band centers and the most negative onset oxidation potential,indicating enhanced antitoxicity and stability.This study not only provides a novel perspective on the synthesis of 3D porous nanomaterials but also highlights the potential application value of trimetallic nanoalloys in catalysis. 展开更多

Rapidly improving infertile croplands and enhancing their soil organic carbon(SOC)pool necessitate substantial organic materials incorporation.Converting loose crop straw into granulated form facilitates uniform incorporation within the plough soil layer.As an innovative soil amelioration approach,the efficiency and patterns of SOC accumulation remain unclear.Two field experiments were conducted in infertile subtropical upland and paddy soils with 0,30,60,and 90 Mg ha^(-1)granulated straw incorporation.After one year,SOC accumulation efficiency from straw input remained stable in upland(30.8–37.5%)with increasing amounts of straw incorporation,while declined from 60.0 to 38.3%in paddy.In both croplands,the contributions of lignin phenols to SOC increased with increasing straw incorporation,while the contributions from amino sugars remained constant at higher straw input levels.Subsequently,the ratios of lignin phenols to amino sugars increased with increasing straw incorporation,indicating faster plant residue accumulation compared to microbial necromass,as the granulation approach limited microbial involvement in straw transformation.Thus,single-time incorporation of substantial granulated straw presents an effective agricultural strategy for rapid amelioration of infertile croplands. 展开更多

The dentate gyrus of the hippocampus is a plastic structure that displays modifications at different levels in response to positive stimuli as well as to negative conditions such as brain damage.The latter involves global alterations,making understanding plastic responses triggered by local damage difficult.One key feature of the dentate gyrus is that it contains a well-defined neurogenic niche,the subgranular zone,and beyond neurogenesis,newly born granule cells may maintain a“young”phenotype throughout life,adding to the plastic nature of the structure.Here,we present a novel experimental model of local brain damage in organotypic entorhino-hippocampal cultures that results in the activation of adjacent newly born granule cells.A small piece of filter paper was placed on the surface of the granule cell layer of the dentate gyrus,which evoked a foreign body reaction of astrocytes,along with the activation of local young neurons expressing doublecortin.Forty-eight hours after foreign body placement,the number of doublecortin-immunoreactive cells increased in the subgranular zone in the direct vicinity of the foreign body,whereas overall increased doublecortin immunoreactivity was observed in the granule cell layer and molecular layer of the dentate gyrus.Foreign body placement in the pyramidal layer of the CA1 region evoked a comparable local astroglial reaction but did not lead to an increase in doublecortin-immunoreactive in either the CA1 region or the adjacent dentate gyrus.Seven days after foreign body placement in the dentate gyrus,the increase in doublecortin-immunoreactivity was no longer observed,indicating the transient activation of young cells.However,7 days after foreign body placement,the number of doublecortin-immunoreactive granule cells coimmunoreactive for calbindin was lower than that under the control conditions.As calbindin is a marker for mature granule cells,this result suggests that activated young cells remain at a more immature stage following foreign body placement.Live imaging of retrovirally green fluorescent protein-labeled newly born granule cells revealed the orientation and growth of their dendrites toward the foreign body placement.This novel experimental model of foreign body placement in organotypic entorhino-hippocampal cultures could serve as a valuable tool for studying both glial reactivity and neuronal plasticity,specifically of newly born neurons under controlled in vitro conditions. 展开更多

Stress granules are membraneless organelles that serve as a protective cellular response to external stressors by sequestering non-translating messenger RNAs(mRNAs)and regulating protein synthesis.Stress granules formation mechanism is conserved across species,from yeast to mammals,and they play a critical role in minimizing cellular damage during stress.Composed of heterogeneous ribonucleoprotein complexes,stress granules are enriched not only in mRNAs but also in noncoding RNAs and various proteins,including translation initiation factors and RNA-binding proteins.Genetic mutations affecting stress granule assembly and disassembly can lead to abnormal stress granule accumulation,contributing to the progression of several diseases.Recent research indicates that stress granule dynamics are pivotal in determining their physiological and pathological functions,with acute stress granule formation offering protection and chronic stress granule accumulation being detrimental.This review focuses on the multifaceted roles of stress granules under diverse physiological conditions,such as regulation of mRNA transport,mRNA translation,apoptosis,germ cell development,phase separation processes that govern stress granule formation,and their emerging implications in pathophysiological scenarios,such as viral infections,cancer,neurodevelopmental disorders,neurodegeneration,and neuronal trauma. 展开更多

Influence of temperature on the characteristics of aerobic granulation in sequencing batch airlift reactors 被引量:13

Aerobic granular sludge was cultivated in sequencing batch airlift reactors (SBAR) at 25, 30, and 35℃, respectively. The effect of temperature on the granules characteristics was analyzed and the microbial community structures of the granules were probed using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE). The results showed that 30℃ is optimum for matured granule cultivation, where the granules had a more compact structure, better settling ability and higher bioactivity, the oxygen utilization rate (OUR) reached 1.14 mg O2/(g MLVSS.min) with COD removal rate of 97% and TP removal rate of 75%. The removal efficiency of NH3-N increased from 68.5% to 87.5% along with the temperature increment from 25 to 35℃. The DGGE profiles revealed that the microbial community structure at 25℃ showed the least similarity with those at other temperatures. The sequencing results indicated that the majority of dominant microbes belonged to Actinobacteria and Proteobacterium. Thermomonas sp., Ottowia sp. and Curtobacteriurn ammoniigenes might play important roles at different temperatures, respectively. 展开更多

The effect of COD/N ratio on the granulation process and microbial population succession was investigated.Four identical sequencing batch reactors,R1,R2,R3 and R4,were operated with various initial COD/N ratios ranging from 0/200 to 800/200(m/m).Ethanol was fed as the source of COD.Aerobic granules were successfully cultivated in R2 and R3,operating with the COD/N ratio of 200/200 and 400/200,respectively.Scanning electron microscope observations indicated that short rod-shaped and spherical bacteria were dominant in R2,while granules produced in R3 were surrounded with a large amount of filamentous bacteria.The average specific nitritation rate in R2 and R3 were 0.019 and 0.008 mg N/(mg MLVSS.hr),respectively.Fluorescence in situ hybridization results demonstrated that nitrifying bacteria population was enriched remarkably in R2.It indicated that nitrification ability and nitrifying bacteria population were enriched remarkably at low COD/N ratio.However,no granules were formed in R1 and R4 which might attribute to either limited or excessive extracellular polymeric substances production.This study contributed to a better understanding of the role of COD/N ratio in nitrifying sludge granulation. 展开更多

Proliferation of filamentous microorganisms frequently leads to operational failure for activate sludge systems. In this study, it was found that filamentous microorganisms could grow in compact granular structure with 5% sodium chloride in the substrate. In the early period of experiment, coccoid and rode-like bacteria predominated in the yellowish-brown granules, and later the white and the black granules were developed by filamentous microorganisms. The filamentous granules exhibited low porosity and fast settling velocity, and were more compact even than bacteria granules. It was hypothesized that the elevated pH in the later period might be a possible reason for the compact growth of filamentous granules. However, the bacteria granules showed the high bioactivity in terms of specific oxygen utilizing rate, and comprised of a wider diversity of compounds based on the thermogravimetric evaluation. The findings in this study demonstrated that filamentous microbes could form compact granular structure, which may encourage the utilization of filamentous microorganisms rather than the inhibition of their growth, as the latter is frequently used for sludge bulking control. 展开更多

In this study, a full-scale internal circulation(IC) reactor coupled with an external circulation system was developed to treat high-strength leachate from a municipal solid waste(MSW)incineration plant, in which anaerobic sludge granulation was intensively investigated. Results showed that the IC reactor achieved excellent treatment performance under high organic loading rates(OLR) of 21.06–25.16 kg chemical oxygen demand(COD)/(m3? day). The COD removal efficiency and biogas yield respectively reached 89.4%–93.4% and 0.42–0.50 m3/kg COD.The formation of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS) was closely associated with sludge granulation. Protein was the dominant component in sludge EPS, and its content was remarkably increased from 21.6 to 99.7 mg/g Volatile Suspended Solid(VSS) during the reactor operation. The sludge Zeta potential and hydrophobicity positively correlated with the protein/polysaccharide ratio in EPS, and they were respectively increased from-26.2 m V and 30.35% to-10.6 m V and 78.67%, which was beneficial to microbial aggregation. Three-dimensional fluorescence spectroscopy(3 D-EEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR)analysis further indicated the importance of protein-like EPS substances in the sludge granulation. Moreover, it was also found that the secondary structures of EPS proteins varied during the reactor operation. 展开更多

The granulation behavior of iron ores is essential for subsequent parameter optimization and efficient granulation, especially under changing material conditions. In this study, the effects of surface properties and particle size were analyzed using a laboratory granulation method; an estimation of the granulation of sintering blends was subsequently conducted for the base ores. Circularity and porosity were observed to negatively affect the granulation of iron ores, whereas wettability positively affected the granulation and was the most influential factor, indicating that wetting of iron ores is desirable during granulation. When iron ores with complex size distributions were granulated, the equivalent surface area was the main influencing factor for coarse particles larger than 1 mm and the ratio of adhering fines to intermediates was the main factor for fine particles smaller than 1 mm. By combining the granulation of coarse and fine particles with their proportioning, we proposed a calculation method for estimating the granulation ability of sintering blends. Good verification was demonstrated with the designed schemes. The results suggest that the developed method is effective for predicting the granulation of iron ore mixtures. 展开更多

Sludge granulation and the effect of gas-liquid-solid separator (GLSS) design on the efficiency of upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) and upflow anaerobic sludge filter (UASF) reactors, operating at HRTs ranging from 3 to 12 h was investigated. VSS/TS ratio gradually increased in both the reactors with increasing sludge age (from 0.5 to more than 0.7 for UASB reactor and 0.012 to 0.043 for UASF reactor). X-Ray diffraction analysis of the UASF sludge showed the presence of expanding clays revealing its additional absorption capability. Fuoraphyllite and albite precipitation related to excellular polymers of the microbial shell structure, showed the extended growth of microorganisms during sludge granulation. A gradual decrease (82%-69%) in COD removal with decreasing HRT was apparent in UASF reactor. In case of UASB reactor, this decrease was marginal because addition of GLSS device significantly improved (14%-20%) the overall efficiency of the UASB reactor. GLSS enhanced the efficiency of the UASB reactor by increasing the settleability of suspended particles and accelerating the coagulation of colloidal particles due to the velocity gradient. 展开更多

A physical model of molten slag granulation by rotary disk was developed based on the mechanism of New-tonian liquid granulation. For geometrical similarity, the radius ratio of model disk to the prototype disk was chosen as 1 : 1. For dynamic similarity, equality of Ohnesorge number between the model and the prototype was achieved firstly by compounding rosin and paraffin wax with mass ratio of 4 ~ 1 as simulation liquid of molten blast furnace (BF) slag, and the simulation material can satisfy the similarity of liquid solid transformation during falling in the medium; then equality of Reynolds number and Weber number was obtained by controlling the volumetric flow rate and the rotary speed, respectively. Model accuracy was verified by comparing the simulation data with the results re ported in literature, which showed good agreement with the calculation results of empirical equation and the actual molten BF slag granulation from the view point of particle size. Furthermore, influences of disk radius, rotary speed and liquid flow rate on granulation were discussed using the developed model, and the Kitamura equation was modi-fied according to the simulation data which can predict particle size more accurately. Using the modified equation, the operation parameters were predicted according to the flow rate of molten industrial BF slag. 展开更多

There are many case reports on colon diverticula that cause irritable bowel syndrome,constipation,bleeding,diverticulitis,stricture due to multiple recurrences of diverticulitis,and perforation.However,few articles have examined neoplasms that arise from a diverticulum,such as adenoma and adenocarcinoma,and there have been no reports of granulation polyps that arise from a colon diverticulum after recurrent diverticulitis.We observed a rare granulation polyp that arose from a diverticulum as a result of repeated episodes of local diverticulitis.Narrow band imaging magnified colonoscopy was very useful to diagnose the polyp as a granulation polyp because of the absence of a pit pattern on the surface of the polyp.We successfully resected the polyp using endoscopic mucosal resection.We inverted the diverticulum,and the resected stalk of the polyp was used to close the diverticulum with an over-thescope clip.If a granulomatous polyp could arise from a diverticulum,differential diagnosis between a colon neoplasm and a granulomatous polyp would not only be difficult but also necessary for suitable endoscopic treatment. 展开更多

Inexact mechanism of aerobic granulation still impedes optimization and application of aerobic granules. In this study, the extended Derjaguin, Landau, Verwey, and Overbeek(XDLVO) theory and physicochemical properties were combined to assess the aggregation ability of sludge during aerobic granulation process qualitatively and quantitatively. Results show that relative hydrophobicity of sludge and polysaccharide content of extracellular polymeric substances(EPS) increased, while electronegativity of sludge decreased during acclimation phase. After 20 days' acclimation, small granules began to form due to high aggregation ability of sludge. Since then, coexisted flocs and granules possessed distinct physicochemical properties during granulation and maturation phase. The relative hydrophobicity decreased while electronegativity increased for flocs, whereas that for granules presented reverse trend. Through analyzing the interaction energy using the XDLVO theory, small granules tended to self-grow rather than self-aggregate or attach of flocs due to poor aggregation ability between flocs and granules during the granulation phase. Besides, remaining flocs were unlikely to self-aggregate owing to poor aggregation ability, low hydrophobicity and high electronegativity. 展开更多

The purpose of the current study is to develop a DEM model which can be applied under dynamic process conditions with high predictive capacity to improve process insight. The DEM model is used to predict agglomeration as a function of impeller speed and liquid addition rate in a high shear wet granulator. The DEM model tracks dynamic formation and breakage of liquid bridges between particles as liquid binder in the system is added, and corrects for the change in material properties as a function of the binder content. 展开更多

Aerobic sludge granulation was rapidly obtained in the erlenmeyer bottle and sequencing batch reactor(SBR) using piggery wastewater.Aerobic granulation occurred on day 3 and granules with mean diameter of 0.2 mm and SVI_(30) of 20.3 mL/g formed in SBR on day 18.High concentrations of Ca and Fe in the raw piggery wastewater and operating mode accelerated aerobic granulation,even though the seed sludge was from a municipal wastewater treatment plant(WWTP).Alpha diversity analysis revealed Operational Taxonomic Units,Shannon,ACE and Chao 1 indexes in aerobic granules were 2013,5.51,4665.5 and 3734.5,which were obviously lower compared to seed sludge.The percentages of major microbial communities,such as Protect)acteria,Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes were obviously higher in aerobic granules than seed sludge.Chlorqflexi,Planctomycetes,Actinobactena,TM7 and Aridobacteria showed much higher abundances in the inoculum.The main reasons might be the characteristics of raw piggery wastewater and granule structure. 展开更多

Interaction between granulation and small-scale magnetic flux observed by Hinode 被引量:3

With the polarimetric observations obtained by the Spectro-Polarimeter on board Hinode, we study the relationship between granular development and magnetic field evolution in the quiet Sun. Six typical cases are displayed to exhibit interaction between granules and magnetic elements, and we have obtained the following results. (1) A granule develops centrosymmetrically when no magnetic flux emerges within the granular cell. (2) A granule develops and splits noncentrosymmetrically while flux emerges at an outer part of the granular cell. (3) Magnetic flux emergence in a cluster of mixed polarities is detected at the position of a granule as soon as the granule breaks up. (4) A dipole emerges accompanied by the development of a granule, and the two elements of the dipole are rooted in the adjacent intergranular lanes and face each other across the granule. Advected by the horizontal granular motion, the positive element of the dipole then cancels with the pre-existing negative flux. (5) Flux cancellation also takes place between a positive element, which is advected by granular flow, and its surrounding negative flux. (6) While magnetic flux cancellation takes place in a granular cell, the granule shrinks and then disappears. (7) Horizontal magnetic fields are enhanced at the places where dipoles emerge and where opposite polarities cancel each other, but only the horizontal fields between the dipolar elements point in an orderly way from the positive elements to the negative ones. Our results reveal that granules and small-scale magnetic fluxes influence each other. Granular flow advects magnetic flux, and magnetic flux evolution suppresses granular development. There exist extremely large Doppler blue-shifts at the site of one canceling magnetic element. This phenomenon may be caused by the upward flow produced by magnetic reconnection below the photosphere. 展开更多
