Some content-based retrieval technologies are indispensable to find out particular data from such anonymous datasets. Though several shape retrieval technologies have been developed, little attention has been given to the points on human's sense and impression (as known as Kansei) in the conventional techniques, In this paper, the authors propose a novel method of shape retrieval based on shape impression of human's Kansei. The key to the method is the Gaussian curvature distribution from 3D models as features for shape retrieval. Starting with the discussion of data modelling requirements for CAD applications, appropriate data modelling features are introduced herewith. A feasible approach to select the “best” data model for an application is to analyze the data which has to be stored in the database. A data model is appropriate for modelling a given task if the information of the application environment can be easily mapped to the data model. Thus, the involved data are analyzed and then object oriented data model appropriate for CAD applications are derived. Based on the reviewed object oriented techniques applied in CAD, object oriented data modelling in CAD is addressed in details. At last 3D geometrical data models and implementation of their data model using the object oriented method are presented.展开更多

Some remarkable developments in three-dimensional computational methods have been supported in civil engineering, subsidence engineering and mining engineering practice. However, ground movement problem due to mining extraction sequence is effectively four dimensional (4D). A rational prediction is getting more and more important for long-term underground mining planning. Hence, computer-based analytical methods that realistically simulate spatially distributed time-dependent ground movement process are needed for the reliable long-term underground mining planning to minimize the surface environmental damages. In this research, a new computational system is developed to simulate four-dimensional (4D) ground movement by combining a stochastic medium theory, Knothe time-delay model and geographic information system (GIS) technology. All the calculations are implemented by a computational program, in which the components of GIS are used to fulfill the spatial-temporal analysis model. In this paper a tight coupling strategy based on component object model of GIS technology is used to overcome the problems of complex three-dimensional extraction model and spatial data integration. Moreover, the implementation of computational of the interfaces of the developed tool is described. The GIS based developed tool is validated by two study cases. The developed computational tool and models are achieved within the GIS system so the effective and efficient calculation methodology can be obtained, so the simulation problems of 4D ground movement due to underground mining extraction sequence can be solved by implementation of the developed tool in GIS.展开更多

An effective tracking method using the object models is proposed to track multiple objects in a real-time visual surveillance system. Firstly, for detecting objects, an adaptive kernel density estimation method is utilized, which uses an adaptive bandwidth and features combining colour and gradient. Secondly, some models of objects are built for describing motion, shape and colour features. Then, a matching matrix is formed to analyze tracking situations. If objects are tracked under occlusions, the optimal "visual" object is found to represent the occluded object, and the posterior probability of pixel is used to determine which pixel is utilized for updating object models. Extensive experiments show that this method improves the accuracy and validity of tracking objects even under occlusions and is used in real-time visual surveillance systems.展开更多

While the former has recently been investigated, the conflict of QoS restraints and resource optimization remains unsolved. Recent studies have shown that overlay paths can give better latency, loss rate and TCP throughput. In this paper, a multi-dimensional QoS objective model based on the analysis of multiple QoS constraints has been presented, and a routing algorithm to optimise the overlay resource of its nodes and links is then proposed. In fact, the algorithm obtained multiple QoS values using probability theory to achieve the routing according to the multi-dimensional QoS objective vector of the QoS objective model. Simulation results reveals that the algorithm works better than other existing algorithms in balancing the network resources, and applications with stringent QoS requirements could be run.展开更多

文摘A large amount of data is present on the web which can be used for useful purposes like a product recommendation, price comparison and demand forecasting for a particular product.Websites are designed for human understanding and not for machines. Therefore,to make data machine-readable,it requires techniques to grab data from web pages.Researchers have addressed the problem using two approaches,i.e.,knowledge engineering and machine learning.State of the art knowledge engineering approaches use the structure of documents, visual cues, clustering of attributes of data records and text processing techniques to identify data records on a web page.Machine learning approaches use annotated pages to learn rules. These rules are used to extract data from unseen web pages. The structure of web documents is continuously evolving. Therefore, new techniques are needed to handle the emerging requirements of web data extraction. In this paper,we have presented a novel, simple and efficient technique to extract data from web pages using visual styles and structure of documents. The proposed technique detects Rich Data Region(RDR)using query and correlative words of the query.RDR is then divided into data records using style similarity.Noisy elements are removed using a Common Tag Sequence(CTS)and formatting entropy. The system is implemented using JAVA and runs on the dataset of real-world working websites. The effectiveness of results is evaluated using precision, recall, and F-measure and compared with five existing systems.A comparison of the proposed technique to existing systems has shown encouraging results.
文摘This paper presents a component object model(COM)based framework for managing, analyzing and visualizing massive multi-scale digital elevation models(DEMs).The framework consists of a data management component(DMC),which is based on RDBMS/ORDBMS,a data analysis component(DAC)and a data render component(DRC).DMC can manage massive multi-scale data expressed at various reference frames within a pyramid database and can support fast access to data at variable resolution.DAC integrates many useful applied analytic functions whose results can be overlaid with the 3D scene rendered by DRC.DRC provides view-dependent data paging with the support of the underlying DMC and organizes the potential visible data at different levels into rendering.
