In sharp contrast to previous works, the considered systems possess two important characteristics: (i) The uncertain nonlinear terms meet the linearly unmeasurable-states dependent growth with the growth rate being an unknown function of the input and output. (ii) There exist input matching uncertainty and unknown measurement sensitivity. By introducing a single dynamic gain and employing a cleverly devised event-triggering mechanism (ETM), we design a new gain-based event-triggered output-feedback controller, which globally regulates all states of the considered systems and maintains global boundedness of the closed-loop system. Furthermore, the estimation of input matching uncertainty achieves convergence towards its actual value, and Zeno behavior does not happen. Two simulation examples including a practical one show that the proposed approach is effective.展开更多

First, a reference residual model is introduced to formulate the RFDF design problem as an H∞ model-matching problem. Then appropriate input/output selection matrices are introduced to extend a performance index to the time-delay systems in time domain. The reference residual model designed according to the performance index is an optimal residual generator, which takes into account the robustness against disturbances and sensitivity to faults simultaneously. Applying robust H∞ optimization control technique, the existence conditions of the RFDF for nonlinear time-delay systems with unknown inputs are presented in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) formulation, independently of time delay. An illustrative design example is used to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed approach.展开更多

The state observer is first designed, and then the controller is designed via the adaptive fuzzy control method based on the observed states. Both the designed observer and controller are independent of time delays. Using an appropriate Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the uncertainty of the unknown time delay is compensated, and then the fuzzy logic system in Mamdani type is utilized to approximate the unknown nonlinear functions. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, the constructed observer-based controller and the closed-loop system are proved to be asymptotically stable. The designed control law is independent of the time delays and has a simple form with only one adaptive parameter vector, which is to be updated on-line. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多

In the backstepping recursive design, fuzzy logic systems are employed to approximate the unknown smooth nonlinear functions, K-filters is designed to estimate the unmeasured states, and Nussbaum gain functions are introduced to solve the problem of unknown sign of high-frequency gain. By combining adaptive fuzzy control theory and adaptive backstepping design, a stable adaptive fuzzy output feedback control scheme is developed. Different from previous works, the nonlinear terms are dominated by upper triangular linear unmeasured (delayed) states multiplied by unknown growth rate. The unknown growth rate is composed of an unknown constant, a power function of output, and an input function. Furthermore, due to the measurement uncertainty of the system output, it is more difficult to solve this problem. It is proved that the presented output feedback controller can globally regulate all states of the nonlinear systems using the dynamic gain scaling technique and choosing the appropriate Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals.展开更多
