In order to improve the harsh dynamic environment experienced by heavy rockets during different external excitations,this study presents a novel active variable stiffness vibration isolator(AVS-VI)used as the vibratio...In order to improve the harsh dynamic environment experienced by heavy rockets during different external excitations,this study presents a novel active variable stiffness vibration isolator(AVS-VI)used as the vibration isolation device to reduce excessive vibration of the whole-spacecraft isolation system.The AVS-VI is composed of horizontal stiffness spring,positive stiffness spring,parallelogram linkage mechanism,piezoelectric actuator,acceleration sensor,viscoelastic damping,and PID active controller.Based on the AVS-VI,the generalized vibration transmissibility determined by the nonlinear output frequency response functions and the energy absorption rate is applied to analyze the isolation performance of the whole-spacecraft system with AVS-VI.The AVS-VI can conduct adaptive vibration suppression with variable stiffness to the whole-spacecraft system,and the analysis results indicate that the AVS-VI is efTective in reducing the extravagant vibration of the whole-spacecraft system,where the vibration isolation is decreased up to above 65%under different acceleration excitations.Finally,different parameters of AVS-VI are considered to optimize the whole-spacecraft system based on the generalized vibration transmissibility and the energy absorption rate.展开更多

Tool condition monitoring(TCM)is a key technology for intelligent manufacturing.The objective is to monitor the tool operation status and detect tool breakage so that the tool can be changed in time to avoid significa...Tool condition monitoring(TCM)is a key technology for intelligent manufacturing.The objective is to monitor the tool operation status and detect tool breakage so that the tool can be changed in time to avoid significant damage to workpieces and reduce manufacturing costs.Recently,an innovative TCM approach based on sensor data modelling and model frequency analysis has been proposed.Different from traditional signal feature-based monitoring,the data from sensors are utilized to build a dynamic process model.Then,the nonlinear output frequency response functions,a concept which extends the linear system frequency response function to the nonlinear case,over the frequency range of the tooth passing frequency of the machining process are extracted to reveal tool health conditions.In order to extend the novel sensor data modelling and model frequency analysis to unsupervised condition monitoring of cutting tools,in the present study,a multivariate control chart is proposed for TCM based on the frequency domain properties of machining processes derived from the innovative sensor data modelling and model frequency analysis.The feature dimension is reduced by principal component analysis first.Then the moving average strategy is exploited to generate monitoring variables and overcome the effects of noises.The milling experiments of titanium alloys are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach in detecting excessive flank wear of solid carbide end mills.The results demonstrate the advantages of the new approach over conventional TCM techniques and its potential in industrial applications.展开更多

Overconfidence behavior,one form of positive illusion,has drawn considerable attention throughout history because it is viewed as the main reason for many crises.Investors’overconfidence,which can be observed as over...Overconfidence behavior,one form of positive illusion,has drawn considerable attention throughout history because it is viewed as the main reason for many crises.Investors’overconfidence,which can be observed as overtrading following positive returns,may lead to inefficiencies in stock markets.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first study to examine the presence of investor overconfidence by employing an artificial intelligence technique and a nonlinear approach to impulse responses to analyze the impact of different return regimes on the overconfidence attitude.We examine whether investors in an emerging stock market(Borsa Istanbul)exhibit overconfidence behavior using a feed-forward,neural network,nonlinear Granger causality test and nonlinear impulseresponse functions based on local projections.These are the first applications in the relevant literature due to the novelty of these models in forecasting high-dimensional,multivariate time series.The results obtained from distinguishing between the different market regimes to analyze the responses of trading volume to return shocks contradict those in the literature,which is the key contribution of the study.The empirical findings imply that overconfidence behavior exhibits asymmetries in different return regimes and is persistent during the 20-day forecasting horizon.Overconfidence is more persistent in the low-than in the high-return regime.In the negative interest-rate period,a high-return regime induces overconfidence behavior,whereas in the positive interest-rate period,a low-return regime induces overconfidence behavior.Based on the empirical findings,investors should be aware that portfolio gains may result in losses depending on aggressive and excessive trading strategies,particularly in low-return regimes.展开更多

The middle layer model has been used in recent years to better describe the connection behavior in composite structures.The influencing parameters including low pre-screw and high preload have the main effects on nonl...The middle layer model has been used in recent years to better describe the connection behavior in composite structures.The influencing parameters including low pre-screw and high preload have the main effects on nonlinear behavior of the connection as well as the amplitude of the excitation force applied to the structure.Therefore,in this study,the effects of connection behavior on the general structure in two sections of increasing damping and reducing the stiffness of the structures that lead to non-linear phenomena have been investigated.Due to the fact that in composite structure we are faced to the limitation of increasing screw preload which tend to structural damage,so the investigation on the hybrid connection(metal-composite)behavior is conducted.In this research,using the two-dimensional middle layer theory,the stiffness properties of the connection are modeled by normal stiffness and the connection damping is modeled using the structural damping in the shear direction.Nonlinear frequency response diagrams have been extracted twice for two different excitation forces and then proposed by a high-order multitasking approximation according to the response range of the nonlinear finite element model for stiffness and damping of the connection.The effect of increasing the amplitude of the excitation force and decreasing the preload of the screw on the nonlinear behavior of the component has been extracted.The results show that the limited presented novel component model has been accurately verified on the model obtained from the vibration experimental test and the reduction of nonlinear model updating based on that is represented.The comparison results show good agreementwith a maximumof 1.33%error.展开更多

By function expansion, severa...Exact solutions of the atmospheric(2+1)-dimensional nonlinear incompressible non-hydrostatic Boussinesq(INHB) equations are researched by Combining function expansion and symmetry method. By function expansion, several expansion coefficient equations are derived. Symmetries and similarity solutions are researched in order to obtain exact solutions of the INHB equations. Three types of symmetry reduction equations and similarity solutions for the expansion coefficient equations are proposed. Non-traveling wave solutions for the INHB equations are obtained by symmetries of the expansion coefficient equations. Making traveling wave transformations on expansion coefficient equations, we demonstrate some traveling wave solutions of the INHB equations. The evolutions on the wind velocities, temperature perturbation and pressure perturbation are demonstrated by figures, which demonstrate the periodic evolutions with time and space.展开更多
Neural networks(NNs),especially electronic-based NNs,have been rapidly developed in the past few decades.However,the electronic-based NNs rely more on highly advanced and heavy power-consuming hardware,facing its bott...Neural networks(NNs),especially electronic-based NNs,have been rapidly developed in the past few decades.However,the electronic-based NNs rely more on highly advanced and heavy power-consuming hardware,facing its bottleneck due to the slowdown of Moore's law.Optical neural networks(ONNs),in which NNs are realized via optical components with information carried by photons at the speed of light,are drawing more attention nowadays.Despite the advantages of higher processing speed and lower system power consumption,one major challenge is to realize reliable and reusable algorithms in physical approaches,particularly nonlinear functions,for higher accuracy.In this paper,a versatile parametric-process-based ONN is demonstrated with its adaptable nonlinear computation realized using the highly nonlinear fiber(HNLF).With the specially designed modelocked laser(MLL)and dispersive Fourier transform(DFT)algorithm,the overall computation frame rate can reach up to 40 MHz.Compared to ONNs using only linear computations,this system is able to improve the classification accuracies from 81.8%to 88.8%for the MNIST-digit dataset,and from 80.3%to 97.6%for the Vowel spoken audio dataset,without any hardware modifications.展开更多

文摘In this paper, we investigate the existence of solution for a class of impulse boundary value problem of nonlinear fractional functional differential equation of mixed type. We obtain the existence results of solution by applying some well-known fixed point theorems. An example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of our result.

文摘The middle layer model has been used in recent years to better describe the connection behavior in composite structures.The influencing parameters including low pre-screw and high preload have the main effects on nonlinear behavior of the connection as well as the amplitude of the excitation force applied to the structure.Therefore,in this study,the effects of connection behavior on the general structure in two sections of increasing damping and reducing the stiffness of the structures that lead to non-linear phenomena have been investigated.Due to the fact that in composite structure we are faced to the limitation of increasing screw preload which tend to structural damage,so the investigation on the hybrid connection(metal-composite)behavior is conducted.In this research,using the two-dimensional middle layer theory,the stiffness properties of the connection are modeled by normal stiffness and the connection damping is modeled using the structural damping in the shear direction.Nonlinear frequency response diagrams have been extracted twice for two different excitation forces and then proposed by a high-order multitasking approximation according to the response range of the nonlinear finite element model for stiffness and damping of the connection.The effect of increasing the amplitude of the excitation force and decreasing the preload of the screw on the nonlinear behavior of the component has been extracted.The results show that the limited presented novel component model has been accurately verified on the model obtained from the vibration experimental test and the reduction of nonlinear model updating based on that is represented.The comparison results show good agreementwith a maximumof 1.33%error.

By the. idea of changeable basis functions first proposed, itgreatly reduces calculation and is easily used in other numerical diseretizationtechniques,such as finite element method etc.,It appears to have high potential forsolution of nonlinear srtyctyrak oribkrbts.Finally, the effectiveness of this technique isdemonstrate by means of two numerical examples: the large deflection of circularplates objected to uniform normal load and the large deflection of spherical caps undercentrally distributed pressures.

文摘A mechanism for proving global convergence in filter-SQP (sequence of quadratic programming) method with the nonlinear complementarity problem (NCP) function is described for constrained nonlinear optimization problem.We introduce an NCP function into the filter and construct a new SQP-filter algorithm.Such methods are characterized by their use of the dominance concept of multi-objective optimization,instead of a penalty parameter whose adjustment can be problematic.We prove that the algorithm has global convergence and superlinear convergence rates under some mild conditions.

文摘Exact solutions of the atmospheric(2+1)-dimensional nonlinear incompressible non-hydrostatic Boussinesq(INHB) equations are researched by Combining function expansion and symmetry method. By function expansion, several expansion coefficient equations are derived. Symmetries and similarity solutions are researched in order to obtain exact solutions of the INHB equations. Three types of symmetry reduction equations and similarity solutions for the expansion coefficient equations are proposed. Non-traveling wave solutions for the INHB equations are obtained by symmetries of the expansion coefficient equations. Making traveling wave transformations on expansion coefficient equations, we demonstrate some traveling wave solutions of the INHB equations. The evolutions on the wind velocities, temperature perturbation and pressure perturbation are demonstrated by figures, which demonstrate the periodic evolutions with time and space.

文摘Neural networks(NNs),especially electronic-based NNs,have been rapidly developed in the past few decades.However,the electronic-based NNs rely more on highly advanced and heavy power-consuming hardware,facing its bottleneck due to the slowdown of Moore's law.Optical neural networks(ONNs),in which NNs are realized via optical components with information carried by photons at the speed of light,are drawing more attention nowadays.Despite the advantages of higher processing speed and lower system power consumption,one major challenge is to realize reliable and reusable algorithms in physical approaches,particularly nonlinear functions,for higher accuracy.In this paper,a versatile parametric-process-based ONN is demonstrated with its adaptable nonlinear computation realized using the highly nonlinear fiber(HNLF).With the specially designed modelocked laser(MLL)and dispersive Fourier transform(DFT)algorithm,the overall computation frame rate can reach up to 40 MHz.Compared to ONNs using only linear computations,this system is able to improve the classification accuracies from 81.8%to 88.8%for the MNIST-digit dataset,and from 80.3%to 97.6%for the Vowel spoken audio dataset,without any hardware modifications.
