A compact expression for the Wigner function is also derived analytically by using the Weyl-ordered operator invariance under similar transformations. Nonclassicality is an essential but still open question in quantum mechanics. Here, utilizing the maximum value of quantum Fisher information, we suggest a new version of the nonclassical criterion for SU(2) generator realized by two bosonic modes. As an application of the criterion, the system of two coupled nonlinear nanomechanical resonators is considered. And the nonclassicality of the phonon state in the dynamical evolution is explored. The system has a dynamical phase transition from the tunnelling phase to the self-trapping phase by tuning the coupling strength. It is found that for the tunnelling phase, the phonon state is nonclassical in the full time evolution. And for the self-trapping phase, the evolved phonon state is still nonclassical in the full time with a relatively large coupling strength, while it is nonclassical i n the most of time (but not all) with a small coupling strength. Quantum coherence has distinct different behaviors in the two phases. 展开更多

The statistical properties of m-coherent superposition operation(μa + νa)^m on the single-mode squeezed vacuum state(M-SSVS) and its decoherence in a thermal environment are studied.Converting the M-SSVS to a squeezed Hermite polynomial excitation state,we obtain a compact expression for the normalization factor of M-SSVS,which is the Legendre polynomial of the squeezing parameter.We also derive the explicit expression of the Wigner function(WF) of the M-SSVS,and find the negative region of the WF in phase space.The decoherence effect on this state is then discussed by deriving the time evolution of the WF.Using the negativity of the WF,the loss of nonclassicality is then discussed. 展开更多

Algebraic and group treatments to nonlinear displaced number states and their nonclassicality features:A new approach

Recently, nonlinear displaced number states (NDNSs) have been manually introduced, in which the deformation function f(n) has been artificially added to the previously well-known displaced number states (DNSs). ... Recently, nonlinear displaced number states (NDNSs) have been manually introduced, in which the deformation function f(n) has been artificially added to the previously well-known displaced number states (DNSs). Indeed, just a simple comparison has been performed between the standard coherent state and nonlinear coherent state for the formation of NDNSs. In the present paper, after expressing enough physical motivation of our procedure, four distinct classes of NDNSs are presented by applying algebraic and group treatments. To achieve this purpose, by considering the DNSs and recalling the nonlinear coherent states formalism, the NDNSs are logically defined through an algebraic consideration. In addition, by using a particular class of Gilmore-Perelomov-type of SU(1,1) and a class of SU(2) coherent states, the NDNSs are introduced via group-theoretical approach. Then, in order to examine the nonclassical behavior of these states, sub-Poissonian statistics by evaluating Mandel parameter and Wigner quasi-probability distribution function associated with the obtained NDNSs are discussed, in detail. 展开更多

We study the temporal dynamics of a photon-added SU(2)coherent state,involving vibrational bound states of an iodine molecule.The nonclassicality of Schrödinger cat-like and compass-like photon-added states of this anharmonic potential is explored through the Mandel Q parameter and the negative region in their phase spaces.The Wigner phase space distribution is thoroughly studied for the photon-added molecular state and displayed for cat-and compass-like states.Generation and control of the sub-Planck interference structures become intriguing with photon addition.We ensure that the photon addition helps to improve the quantum sensitivity for a diatomic molecular system by comparing it between photon-added and photon-subtracted states.The detailed study of quantum sensitivity reveals that one can use a photon-added molecular wave packet as a probe to attain sensitivity to displacement that greatly exceeds the standard quantum limit.We also report that the nature of variation of the quantum sensitivity becomes qualitatively commensurate with that of the Wigner-negativity. 展开更多

Nonclassical states play a crucial role in both theoretical and experimental investigations of quantum optics, and there is a wide interest in characterization and quantification of nonclassicality. By exploiting the freedom of the parameter s in the s-ordered phase-space distribution introduced by Cahill and Glauber [Phys. Rev. 177, 1882(1969)], we develop a method to reveal and quantify optical nonclassicality via the divided difference of the s-ordered phase-space distribution. Our approach yields naturally a family of quantifiers of optical nonclassicality, which have many desirable properties such as convexity and monotonicity under the Gaussian noise channels. The quantifiers are illustrated by evaluating nonclassicality of several typical states. Two simple and convenient criteria for nonclassicality are established, which in particular certify all nonclassical Gaussian states. 展开更多

This paper presents a nonlinear micropolar nonclassical continuum theory (MPNCCT) for finite deformation, finite strain deformation physics of thermosviscoelastic solid medium with memory (polymeric micropolar solids) based on classical rotations cΘand their rates. Contravariant second Piola-Kirchhoff stress and moment tensors, in conjunction with finite deformation measures derived by the authors in recent paper, are utilized in deriving the conservation and balance laws and the constitutive theories based on conjugate pairs in entropy inequality and the representation theorem. This nonlinear MPNCCT for TVES with rheology: 1) incorporates nonlinear ordered rate dissipation mechanism based on Green’s strain rates up to order n;2) also incorporates an additional ordered rate dissipation mechanism due to microconstituents, the viscosity of the medium and the rates of the symmetric part of the rotation gradient (of cΘ) tensor up to order n, referred to as micropolar dissipation or micropolar viscous dissipation mechanism;3) incorporates the primary mechanism of memory or rheology due to long chain molecules of the polymer and the viscosity of the medium by using the contravaraint second Piola-Kirchhoff stress tensor and its rates up to order m, resulting in a relaxation spectrum;4) incorporates second mechanism of memory or rheology due to nonclassical physics, interaction of microconstituents with the viscous medium and long chain molecules by considering rates of the contravariant second Piola-Kirchhoff moment tensor up to order m, resulting in relaxation of second Piola-Kirchhoff moment tensor. This results in another relaxation spectrum for the second Piola-Kirchhoff moment tensor due to microconstituents, referred to as micropolar relaxation spectrum consisting of micropolar relaxation time constants of the material. This nonlinear MPNCCT for TVES with memory is thermodynamically and mathematically consistent, and the mathematical model consisting of conservation and balance laws and the constitutive theories has closure and naturally reduces to linear MPNCCT based on infinitesimal deformation assumption. BMM is the essential balance law for all MPNCCT and is used in the present work as well. In the absence of this balance law, a valid thermodynamically and mathematically consistent nonlinear MPNCCT is not possible. The nonlinear MPNCCT based on rotations (cΘ+αΘ) and αΘ(ignoring cΘ) is not considered due to the fact that even the linear MPNCCT based on these rotations is invalid and is thermodynamically and mathematically inconsistent MPNCCT. 展开更多

It is shown that if the external field is in the coherent state and the state of the junction is initially prepared in the vacuum state, the state of the junction can evolve into a quantum superposition of two coherent states. We investigate the nonclassical properties of arbitrary number photon annihilation-then-creation operation (AC) and creation-then-annihilation operation (CA) to the thermal state (TS), whose normalization factors are related to the polylog- arithm function. Then we compare their quantum characters, such as photon number distribution, average photon number, Mandel Q-parameter, purity and the Wigner function. Because of the noncommutativity between the annihilation operator and the creation operator, the ACTS and the CATS have different nonclassical properties. It is found that nonclassical properties are exhibited more strongly after AC than after CA. In addition we also examine their non-Gaussianity. The result shows that the ACTS can present a slightly bigger non-Gaussianity than the CATS. 展开更多

After developing the mathematical means for the correspondence of classical phase-space function to quantum-mechanical operators with symmetrical ordering of the basic canonical operators in the sense of Weyl the approach is applied to an infinite series of classical monomial functions of the canonical variables. These include as well as pure powers of the amplitude as also basic periodic functions of the phase &phi;with their quantum-mechanical correspondence. In the representation by number states, all the considered operators involve the Jacobi polynomials as the essential formative element. Whereas the quantity in normal ordering due to its indeterminacy leads to the introduction of the notions of sub- and super-Poissonian statistics the analogous quantity in (Weyl) symmetrical orderingis positive definite and satisfies an inequality. The notions of sub- and super-Poissonian statistics are problematic when they are used for the definition of nonclassicality of states since the mentioned measure in normal ordering does not determine the Poisson statistics in their middle in unique way but determines only a large set of statistics which may be very far in the sense of the Hilbert-Schmidt distance from a Poisson statistics that is discussed. 展开更多
