The new algorithm combines the global exploration ability of the GSA to converge rapidly to a near optimum solution. In addition, it uses the accurate local exploitation ability of the SQP to accelerate the search process and find an accurate solution. A set of five well-known benchmark optimization problems was used to validate the performance of the GSA-SQP as a global optimization algorithm and facilitate comparison with the classical GSA. This controller is tuned to simultaneously shift the undamped electromeehanical modes to a prescribed zone in the s-plane. The problem of robust UPFC based damping controller is formulated as an optimization problem according to the eigenvalue-based multi-objective function comprising the damping factor, and the damping ratio of the undamped electromechanical modes to be solved using gravitational search algorithm (GSA) that has a strong ability to find the most optimistic results. The different loading conditions are simulated on a SMIB system and the rotor speed deviation, internal voltage deviation, DC voltage deviation and electrical power deviation responses are studied with the effect of this flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS) controller. The results reveal that the tuned GSA based UPFC controller using the proposed multi-objective function has an excellent capability in damping power system with low frequency oscillations and greatly enhances the dynamic stability of the power systems.展开更多

The damping of the system’s oscillations can be obtained by conventional means such as voltage and speed regulation but also by Flexible AC Transmission System devices (FACTS). These devices are increasingly used in power systems. This paper presents a systematic procedure for modelling and simulation of a single-machine infinite-bus power system installed with a Static VAR Compensator (SVC). Genetic algorithm (GA) optimization technique is applied to design robust power system stabilizer and SVC-controllers for single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) and is employed to search for optimal controller parameters.展开更多

Moser’s conditions are utilized in this study by employing the iterative scheme of Henrard for transforming the Hamiltonian to the Birkhoff’s normal form with the help of double D’Alembert’s series. It is found that L4 is stable for all mass ratios in the range of linear stability except for the three mass ratios μc1, μc2 and μc3, which depend upon the perturbations ε1 and ε1 in the Coriolis and centrifugal forces respectively and the parameters A1,A2,A3 and A4 which depend upon the semi-axes a1,b1,c1;a2,b2,c2 of the triaxial rigid bodies and p, the radiation parameter.展开更多

文摘With the daily expansion of global energy consumption, developing the power grids is of uttermost importance. However, building a new trans-mission line is costly and time-consuming,so utilizing the same lines with possible higher transmission capacity is very cost-effective.In this regard,to increase the capacity of the transmission lines, the flexible alternating current transmission system(FACTS)has been widely used in power grids in recent years by industrialized countries. One of the essential topics in electrical power systems is the reactive power compensation, and the FACTS plays a significant role in controlling the reactive power current in the power grid and the system voltage oscillations and stability. When a static synchronous compensator(STATCOM)is embedded in a power system to increase the bus voltage,a supplementary damping controller can be designed to enhance the system oscillation damping.Given the expansion of the grids in the power system, the complexity of their optimization and the extraordinary ability of the imperialist competitive algorithm(ICA)for solving such problems,in this paper, the ICA has been used to determine the optimal position and size of the FACTS devices.
文摘The use of power systems as close to their operating limits can cause instability if a disturbance is occurred. So the impact of the SVC on power system stability can be reasonably evaluated. Genetic algorithm (GA) optimization technique is applied to design robust power system stabilizer and SVC-controllers for single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) and is employed to search for optimal controller parameters.
文摘The study of local stability of thermal engines modeled as an endoreversible Curzon and Ahlborn cycle is shown. It is assumed a non-linear heat transfer for heat fluxes in the system (engine + environments). A semisum of two expressions of the efficiency found in the literature of finite time thermodynamics for the maximum power output regime is considered in order to make the analysis. Expression of variables for local stability and power output is found even graphic results for important parameters in the analysis of stability, and a phase plane portrait is shown.
文摘Effect of perturbations in Coriolis and centrifugal forces on the non-linear stability of the libration point L4 in the restricted three body problem is studied when both the primaries are axis symmetric bodies (triaxial rigid bodies) and the bigger primary is a source of radiation. Moser’s conditions are utilized in this study by employing the iterative scheme of Henrard for transforming the Hamiltonian to the Birkhoff’s normal form with the help of double D’Alembert’s series. It is found that L4 is stable for all mass ratios in the range of linear stability except for the three mass ratios μc1, μc2 and μc3, which depend upon the perturbations ε1 and ε1 in the Coriolis and centrifugal forces respectively and the parameters A1,A2,A3 and A4 which depend upon the semi-axes a1,b1,c1;a2,b2,c2 of the triaxial rigid bodies and p, the radiation parameter.
