The most popular way to do the investigation is network emulation. Based on the classical voltage graph theory, the authors develop a new representation scheme for interconnection network structures. The new approach is a combination of algebraic methods and combinatorial methods. The results demonstrate that the voltage graph theory is a powerful tool for representing well known interconnection networks and in implementing optimal network emulation algorithms, and in particular, show that all popular interconnection networks have very simple and intuitive representations under the new scheme. The new representation scheme also offers powerful tools for the study of network routings and emulations. For example, we present very simple constructions for optimal network emulations from the cube connected cycles networks to the butterfly networks, and from the butterfly networks to the hypercube networks. Compared with the most popular way of network emulation, this new scheme is intuitive and easy to realize, and easy to apply to other network structures.展开更多

The contributions of this paper are to extend the emulators to multivariable non square systems and to propose a systematic method to compute the multimodel synthesis parameters. The effectiveness of the proposed emulators is shown through two simulation examples. The obtained results are very satisfactory, they illustrate the performance of both emulators and show the advantages of the multimodel emulator relatively to the neural one.展开更多

Existing emulation platforms struggle with challenges like the need for detailed implementation across all network layers, real-time response, and scalability. This paper proposes a digital twin system based on microservices for satellite Internet emulation, namely Plotinus, which aims to solve these problems. Plotinus features a modular design, allowing for easy replacement of the physical layer to emulate different aerial vehicles and analyze channel interference. It also enables replacing of path computation methods to simplify testing and deploying algorithms. In particular, Plotinus allows for real-time emulation with live network traffic, enhancing practical network models. The evaluation result shows Plotinus’s effective emulation of dynamic satellite networks with real-world devices. Its adaptability for various communication models and algorithm testing highlights Plotinus’s role as a vital tool for developing and analyzing SAGIN systems, offering a cross-layer,real-time,and scalable digital twin system.展开更多
