Vegetation plays an important role in the environmental transport behavior of organic pollutants,however,the different roles of crops and natural vegetation have been ignored in most previous studies.In this study,we ...Vegetation plays an important role in the environmental transport behavior of organic pollutants,however,the different roles of crops and natural vegetation have been ignored in most previous studies.In this study,we developed the BETR-Urban-Rural-Veg model to quantitatively evaluate the influences of both natural vegetation and crops on the multimedia transport processes of Phenanthrene(PHE)and Benzo(a)pyrene(BaP)in mainland of China.The geographic distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon(PAH)emissions and concentrations were consistent,displaying higher levels in northern China while lower levels in southern China.Under seasonal simulations,for both natural vegetation and crops,PAH concentrations in winter and spring were 1.5 to 27-fold higher than in summer and autumn,especially for PHE.Owing to the higher leaf area index(LAI)of natural vegetation and harvesting of crops,the filter and sequestration effect of natural vegetation was stronger than crops,while the seasonal changes of PAH concentrations in crops were more significant than natural vegetation.Temperature,precipitation rates and LAI might have important influences on seasonal concentrations and overall persistence of PAHs.PHE was more sensitive to the impacts of seasonal environmental parameters.Under different landscape scenarios,average annual PAH concentrations in natural vegetation were always a little higher than those in crops,and the overall persistence of BaP was greatly affected increasing by 15.15%-16.47%.This improved model provides a useful tool for environmental management.The results of this study are expected to support land use plans and decision-making in China's mainland.展开更多

In winter 2018,an aerosol physicochemical experiment was conducted in the Western Pacific Ocean(WPO)aboard the Research Vessel KEXUE of Chinese Academy of Sciences.This study systematically investigated both natural a...In winter 2018,an aerosol physicochemical experiment was conducted in the Western Pacific Ocean(WPO)aboard the Research Vessel KEXUE of Chinese Academy of Sciences.This study systematically investigated both natural and anthropogenic effects on marine aerosols optical properties,as well as the applicability of multi-satellite products and IMPROVE equation.The averaged aerosol optical depth(AOD500 nm)was 0.31±0.16 andÅngström exponent440–675 nm was 0.29±0.30.In offshore China,significant anthropogenic emissions affected the marine environment.In remote WPO,dust aerosols transported from northern China,Siberia,Central Asia,and those settling from the upper troposphere originating from north Africa,Arabian peninsula,and western India,were dominant.The spatial trends of AOD were opposite in the mid-latitude and southern seas of WPO.The highest AOD,0.32±0.23,appeared along the coast of South Asia at mid-latitude,decreasing from offshore seas to remote oceans.In low-latitude and equatorial seas,AOD significantly increased from coast to remote oceans.Ångström exponent dropped significantly from the coast to remote oceans as anthropogenic influence diminished across the entire WPO.Correlation analysis showed that both MODIS-C6 and Himawari AOD prod-ucts showed similar applicability in coastal urban areas,while Himawari AOD is highly recommended for coastal background and marine environment due to its finer resolution.The extinction coefficient derived from PM_(2.5) chemical compositions using IMPROVE algorithm exhibited a significant correlation(R^(2)=0.58)with the con-currently measured AOD in the absence of long-distance transport,suggesting that the IMPROVE is a reasonable proxy of the columnar average of marine aerosol extinctions free from transport influences.展开更多

BACKGROUND Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 induced coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a great challenge to public health worldwide and also increased susceptibility to colorectal cancer(CRC).N...BACKGROUND Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 induced coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a great challenge to public health worldwide and also increased susceptibility to colorectal cancer(CRC).Natural killer(NK)cells serve as the first line of defense in the host’s innate immune system,performing natural killing functions and mediating cytotoxicity against tumors and viruses.Therefore,a better understanding of NK cell cytotoxicity may facilitate the development of treatment strategies for CRC-associated with COVID-19.AIM To investigate the cytotoxic killing function of peripheral NK cells in patients with CRC and severe COVID-19(CRC+patients).METHODS The percentages of circulating NK and NKT cells in CRC+and age-matched patients with CRC were analyzed using flow cytometry.NK cell cytotoxic activity(NKCA)and corresponding NK cytotoxic factor(NKCF)activity in peripheral blood mononuclear cells were evaluated using a Real-Time Cell Analyzer.RESULTS The numbers and percentage of peripheral NK and NKT cells in patients with CRC+were lower than those in patients with CRC.Additionally,compared to patients with CRC,those with CRC+had lower levels of NKCA and NKCF activity in lysed K562 cells.Positive correlations were observed between NKCA and NK cell numbers,NKCA and NK cell percentages,NKCF activity,and NK cell percentages in patients with CRC+.Furthermore,a negative correlation was observed between NKCA and the severity of COVID-19 in patients with CRC.The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for NKCA was greater than those for the other indices.CONCLUSION CRC+is associated with lower levels of peripheral NK cells and impaired natural cytotoxicity,contributing to the immunopathogenesis of severe COVID-19 rather than immune control.展开更多

Since 2020,the global energy market has faced persistent disruptions due to geological tensions and the economic competition among great nations,with liquefied natural gas(LNG)emerging as a vital instrument in balanci...Since 2020,the global energy market has faced persistent disruptions due to geological tensions and the economic competition among great nations,with liquefied natural gas(LNG)emerging as a vital instrument in balancing energy security and transition within the global carbon neutrality framework.This study reviewed the global LNG market from 2020 to 2024 through prices,trade flows,liquefaction capacity,shipping,and regasification infrastructure to provide medium-and long-term market outlooks in terms of supply,demand,trade,liquefaction capacity,and prices.The following research results were obtained:(1)The global LNG market underwent profound reconstruction between 2020 and 2024,with natural gas prices retreating sharply after a period of extreme volatility.(2)LNG trade flows were fundamentally reshaped by a pronounced shift toward Europe,disrupting the traditional Asia-centric landscape.(3)Liquefaction capacity growth decelerated,with the United States surpassing Australia to become the world's largest market in terms of liquefaction capacity.(4)Global natural gas production is poised for steady growth,while demand retains substantial potential,driven by both economic expansion and energy transition.(5)A forthcoming wave of liquefaction projects is expected to create a less restricted supply-demand market balance,which would likely lead to diverging price paths and narrower spreads between major hubs.The LNG industry faces promising opportunities from energy transition and digitalization,particularly for floating storage regasification units and small-scale LNG,while confronting major challenges,including persistent geopolitical tensions,shipping route uncertainties,and increasing dependence on the pace of renewable energy deployment.展开更多

文摘BACKGROUND Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 induced coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has posed a great challenge to public health worldwide and also increased susceptibility to colorectal cancer(CRC).Natural killer(NK)cells serve as the first line of defense in the host’s innate immune system,performing natural killing functions and mediating cytotoxicity against tumors and viruses.Therefore,a better understanding of NK cell cytotoxicity may facilitate the development of treatment strategies for CRC-associated with COVID-19.AIM To investigate the cytotoxic killing function of peripheral NK cells in patients with CRC and severe COVID-19(CRC+patients).METHODS The percentages of circulating NK and NKT cells in CRC+and age-matched patients with CRC were analyzed using flow cytometry.NK cell cytotoxic activity(NKCA)and corresponding NK cytotoxic factor(NKCF)activity in peripheral blood mononuclear cells were evaluated using a Real-Time Cell Analyzer.RESULTS The numbers and percentage of peripheral NK and NKT cells in patients with CRC+were lower than those in patients with CRC.Additionally,compared to patients with CRC,those with CRC+had lower levels of NKCA and NKCF activity in lysed K562 cells.Positive correlations were observed between NKCA and NK cell numbers,NKCA and NK cell percentages,NKCF activity,and NK cell percentages in patients with CRC+.Furthermore,a negative correlation was observed between NKCA and the severity of COVID-19 in patients with CRC.The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for NKCA was greater than those for the other indices.CONCLUSION CRC+is associated with lower levels of peripheral NK cells and impaired natural cytotoxicity,contributing to the immunopathogenesis of severe COVID-19 rather than immune control.

文摘This review provides a comprehensive overview of natural rubber(NR)composites,focusing on their properties,compounding aspects,and renewable practices involving natural fibre reinforcement.The properties of NR are influenced by the compounding process,which incorporates ingredients such as elastomers,vulcanizing agents,accelerators,activators,and fillers like carbon black and silica.While effective in enhancing properties,these fillers lack biodegradability,prompting the exploration of sustainable alternatives.The potential of natural fibres as renewable reinforcements in NR composites is thoroughly covered in this review,highlighting both their advan-tages,such as improved sustainability,and the challenges they present,such as compatibility with the rubber matrix.Surface treatment methods,including alkali and silane treatments,are also discussed as solutions to improve fibre-matrix adhesion and mitigate these challenges.Additionally,the review highlights the potential of oil palm empty fruit bunch(EFB)fibres as a natural fibre reinforcement.The abundance of EFB fibres and their alignment with sustainable practices make them promising substitutes for conventional fillers,contributing to valuable knowledge and supporting the broader move towards renewable reinforcement to improve sustain-ability without compromising the key properties of rubber composites.

文摘Natural products,with their remarkable structural and biological diversity,have historically served as a vital bridge between chemistry,the life sciences,and medicine.They not only provide essential scaffolds for drug discovery but also inspire innovative strategies in drug development.The biomimetic synthesis of natural products employs principles from biomimicry,applying inspiration from biogenetic processes to design synthetic strategies that mimic biosynthetic processes.Biomimetic synthesis is a highly efficient approach in synthetic chemistry,as it addresses critical challenges in the synthesis of structurally complex natural products with significant biological and medicinal importance.It has gained widespread attention from researchers in chemistry,biology,pharmacy,and related fields,underscoring its interdisciplinary impact.In this perspective,we present recent advances and challenges in the biomimetic synthesis of natural products,along with the significance and prospects of this field,highlighting the transformative potential of biomimetic synthesis strategies for both chemical and biosynthetic approaches to natural product synthesis in the pursuit of novel therapeutic agents.
文摘The statistics of the China natural gas industry prosperity index showed that the China natural gas industry prosperity index was 357.68 in the 2nd quarter of 2025,up 3.1% from the 1st quarter of 2025,a stably prosperous state in the short term and a very prosperous state in the medium to long term;the prosperity index of natural gas production companies was 542.01 in the 2nd quarter of 2025,up 4.8% from the 1st quarter of 2025,an increasingly prosperous state in the short term and a very prosperous state in the medium to long term;the prosperity index of natural gas sales companies was 209.06 in the 2nd quarter of 2025,up 0.4% from the 1st quarter of 2025,an increasing prosperity in the short term and a prosperous state in the medium to long term;the prosperity trend index of the natural gas industry in the coming year for the 2nd quarter of 2025 was 765.70,up 4.1% from the 1st quarter of 2025,a very prosperous state,indicating that natural gas industry experts are optimistic about the natural gas industry’s prosperity trend in the coming year.See Fig.1 and Table 1 for details.

文摘On 13 December 2024,liquefied natural gas(LNG)company Venture Global LNG(Arlington,VA,USA)commenced commercial production of the super-chilled fuel at its partially completed Plaquemines LNG export terminal in Louisiana(Fig.1)[1].In terms of dollars invested,the 21 billion USD plant is the fourth largest infrastructure project in the world[2].Venture Global initially expected the terminal to produce and ship 20 million tonnes of LNG annually[3].An 18 billion USD expansion of the terminal approved in February 2025 will bring its maximum annual produc-tion capacity to 45 million tonnes[4].When fully operational in 2027,the facility,located in Plaquemines Parish on the Mississippi River about 32 km south of New Orleans,will be among the largest in the world,further contributing to the US position as the world’s biggest LNG exporter[1].

文摘Accurate identification of natural gas origin is fundamental to the theoretical research on natural gas geosciences and the exploration deployment and resource potential assessment of oil and gas.Since the 1970s,Academician Dai Jinxing has developed a comprehensive system for natural gas origin determination,grounded in geochemical theory and practice,and based on the integrated analysis of stable isotopic compositions,molecular composition,light hydrocarbon fingerprints,and geological context.This paper systematically reviews the core framework established by him and his team according to related references and application results,focusing on the conceptual design and technical pathways of key diagnostic diagrams such asδ^(13)C_(1)-C_(1)/(C_(2)+C_(3)),δ^(13)C_(1)-δ^(13)C_(2)-δ^(13)C_(3),δ^(13)CCO_(2)versus CO_(2)content,and the C7light hydrocarbon ternary plot.We evaluate the applicability and innovation of these tools in distinguishing between oil-type gas,coal-derived gas,microbial gas,and abiogenic gas,as well as in identifying mixed-source gases and multi-stage charging systems.The findings suggest that this identification system has significantly advanced natural gas geochemical interpretation in China,shifting from single-indicator analyses to multi-parameter integration and from qualitative assessments to systematic graphical identification,and has also exerted considerable influence on international research in natural gas geochemistry.The structured overview of the development trajectory of natural gas origin discrimination methodologies provides a technical support for natural gas geological theory and practice and offers a scientific foundation for the academic evaluation and application of related achievements.

文摘Since 2020,the global energy market has faced persistent disruptions due to geological tensions and the economic competition among great nations,with liquefied natural gas(LNG)emerging as a vital instrument in balancing energy security and transition within the global carbon neutrality framework.This study reviewed the global LNG market from 2020 to 2024 through prices,trade flows,liquefaction capacity,shipping,and regasification infrastructure to provide medium-and long-term market outlooks in terms of supply,demand,trade,liquefaction capacity,and prices.The following research results were obtained:(1)The global LNG market underwent profound reconstruction between 2020 and 2024,with natural gas prices retreating sharply after a period of extreme volatility.(2)LNG trade flows were fundamentally reshaped by a pronounced shift toward Europe,disrupting the traditional Asia-centric landscape.(3)Liquefaction capacity growth decelerated,with the United States surpassing Australia to become the world's largest market in terms of liquefaction capacity.(4)Global natural gas production is poised for steady growth,while demand retains substantial potential,driven by both economic expansion and energy transition.(5)A forthcoming wave of liquefaction projects is expected to create a less restricted supply-demand market balance,which would likely lead to diverging price paths and narrower spreads between major hubs.The LNG industry faces promising opportunities from energy transition and digitalization,particularly for floating storage regasification units and small-scale LNG,while confronting major challenges,including persistent geopolitical tensions,shipping route uncertainties,and increasing dependence on the pace of renewable energy deployment.
