The evolution of the microstructure and mechanical properties of WE43 magnesium alloy during multipass hot rolling was investigated.Results revealed that multipass hot rolling promoted the formation of small second phases,which was conducive to multiple dynamic recrystallization,consequently improving the microstructure homogeneity and refining the average grain size from 34.3μm in the initial material to 8.83μm.Meanwhile,the rolling deformation rotated abundant c-axis of the grains in the normal direction,resulting in a strong fiber texture.The yield strength in the rolling direction(RD)was improved from 164 MPa in the initial material to 324 MPa in the Pass 3 sheet due to fine-grained strengthening,second-phase strengthening,and texture modification.In addition,the distribution maps of the deformation mechanism indicated that the yield strength anisotropy between the RD and the transverse direction(TD)can be attributed to the effects of the texture component on the dominant mechanism.The dominant deformation mechanism during the tensile test was the prismatic slip caused by the strong basal texture of the RD,whereas it had a lesser proportion of prismatic slip under the influence of the weak basal texture of the TD.Compared to the basal slip,the higher critical resolved shear stress of the prismatic slip resulted in a higher increase in yield strength along the RD at approximately 51 MPa than that along the TD(RD:increase of 160 MPa;TD:increase of 109 MPa). 展开更多

The calculated result of the shape at the head and tail of slab is in good agreement with the measured one. It has been widely studied about the final residual stress and deformation in muhipass welding of thick weldments. But there is a lack of a clear understanding of the interrelationship of interpass stress and deformation during multipass welding. In this study, a three dimension numerical model of a sixteen-pass double V-groove welded joint with 50 mm plate is developed to compute the stress field and deformation by using multiple CPU parallel processing technology. The following factors such as the non-linear of temperature, heat radiation, filling of material step by step and so on are considered. Distribution and evolution law of welding stress in the transverse and longitudinal section is analyzed in this paper, and the interpnss stresses are studied also. At the same time the evolution course of angular deformation amount is analyzed, and the experimental results show that the calculated resuhs accord with the measured results of angular deformation. 展开更多

A series of simple axisymmetric compression tests were carried out on the computer servo controlled Gleeble 1 500 machine when strain rates ranged between 0.05 25 s -1 and deformation temperature 300 500 ℃. The results show that flow stress is related to the Zener Hollonom parameter Z and strain, as well as the static recrystallization fraction between passes during multipass hot deformation of 5182 aluminum alloy. Hence, a modified exponential flow stress equation was presented by considering the values of ln A and β as functions of strain, and by using the uniform softening method and incorporating the static recrystallization fraction between passes to consider the effects of residual strain during multipass hot rolling of 5182 aluminum alloy. The validity of the equation was examined by a typical non isothermal multipass deformation test. 展开更多

The influence of multipass high rotating speed friction stir processing(FSP)on the microstructure evolution,corrosion behavior,and tensile properties of the stirred zone(SZ)was investigated by EBSD,TEM,SEM,electrochemical workstation and electronic universal testing machine.The mean grain size of the SZ is significantly refined,and it increases with the increase of the processing pass.In addition to an obvious increase in the number,the distribution ofβ-Al12Mg17 precipitates also becomes more uniform and dispersed with increasing the processing pass.Compared with the as-received AZ31 alloy,the tensile properties of the SZ are hardly improved,but the corrosion resistances are significantly enhanced.The corrosion potential of the SZ prepared by 4-pass FSP is increased from−1.56 V for the unprocessed AZ31 alloy to−1.19 V,while the corrosion current is decreased from 1.55×10^−4 to 5.47×10^−5 A. 展开更多

In this paper, toughness properties and microstructurc of low-alloyed multipass welds with yield strength above 700MPa have 6een studied using the weld thermal simulation and throughout thickness CTOD fracture mechanics tests. Impact testing of thermal simulated specimens showed that the primary weld metal and the fine gmmed weld metal had good toughness, while the coarse grained weld metal had the lowest toughness value as the local brittle zone (LBZ) in multipass weld metals. Cleavage fracture in CTOD testing of thick multipass weld metals was initiated from martensite-austenite (MA) phases in the LBZ. MA phases were distributed at the prior austenite grain boundaries and around ferrite grains. As the size of the local brittle zone along the fatigue crack front increases, CTOD frncture toughness of multipass weld metals decreases. The weakest link theory was used to evaluate effect of the local brittle zone on fracture toughness of thick multipass weld metals. The estimated curves agree well with the eaperimental data. 展开更多

Combination of Tunable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy(TDLAS)technique and multipass cell is an attractive approach for ultrahigh sensitive detection of trace gases.Theoretically,based on Beer-Lambert law,the longer optical path length and the larger gas absorption,the lower concentration gas could be detected.However,lower radiation intensity and inevitable etalon fringe resulted from multiple reflections would greatly weaken the Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)and thus an expected ultrahigh sensitive detection system is difficult to achieve.In order to fully make use of the advantages of TDLAS and multipass cell,the base length and the total optical path length of the multipass cell are needed to be carefully balanced.Furthermore,the harmonic signals contaminated by various noises are processed with wavelet transform method.As a demonstration of this method,few low concentrations of gas CO in N2 are measured employing TDLAS technique and a novel sealed multipass cell with total optical length of 114 m.The detection limit is about 5×10-6(volume ratio),which is one order of magnitude better than earlier noise reduction. 展开更多

The spatial chirp generated in the Ti:sapphire multipass amplifier is numerically investigated based on the one- dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) Frantz-Nodvik equations. The simulation indicates that the spatial chirp is induced by the spatially inhomogeneous gain, and it can be almost eliminated by utilization of proper beam profiles and spot sizes of the signal and pump pulses, for example, the pump pulse has a top-hatted beam profile and the signal pulse has a super-Gaussian beam profile with a relatively larger spot size. In this way, a clear understanding of spatial chirp mechanisms in the Ti:sapphire multipass amplifier is proposed, therefore we can effectively almost eliminate the spatial chirp and improve the beam quality of a high-power Ti:sapphire chirped pulse amplifier system. 展开更多

In this study,a ray tracing model based on the law of reflection in vector form was developed to obtain the design parameters of multipass cells(MPC)with dense spot patterns.Four MPCs with distinct patterns were obtained using an established mathematical model.An MPC with a four-concentric-circle pattern exhibited the longest optical path length(OPL)of approximately 38 m and an optimal ratio of optical path length to volume(RLV)of 13.8 cm-2.A light-induced thermoelastic spectroscopy(LITES)-based methane(CH4)sensor was constructed for the first time using the developed optimal MPC and Raman fiber amplifier(RFA).A novel trapezoidal-tip quartz tuning fork(QTF)was used as the detector to further improve the sensing performance.The CH4-LITES sensor exhibited an excellent linear response to optical power and CH4 concentration.The minimum detection limit(MDL)of the CH4-LITES sensor reached 322 ppb when the output optical power of the RFA was 350 mW.The Allan deviation of the system indicated that the MDL decreased to 59.5 ppb when the average time was increased to 100 s. 展开更多

采用累积多道次连续挤压工艺,以连续进料的方式对纯铜进行多道次连续挤压,利用光学显微镜、扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、电子万能材料试验机观察纯铜杆料的微观组织演变,测试力学性能。探讨挤压道次对纯铜杆料微观组织和力学性能的影响。结果... 采用累积多道次连续挤压工艺,以连续进料的方式对纯铜进行多道次连续挤压,利用光学显微镜、扫描电子显微镜(SEM)、电子万能材料试验机观察纯铜杆料的微观组织演变,测试力学性能。探讨挤压道次对纯铜杆料微观组织和力学性能的影响。结果表明:经过一道次连续挤压,纯铜杆料抗拉强度由178.21 MPa提升至239.61 MPa,伸长率由41.72%提升至52.43%。随着挤压道次的增加,纯铜杆料的抗拉强度和伸长率先升高后降低,经过二道次连续挤压,纯铜杆料的抗拉强度和伸长率达到最大值,分别为248.03 MPa和56.51%。随着挤压道次的增加,纯铜杆料平均晶粒尺寸先减小后逐渐增大。经过二道次连续挤压后纯铜杆料平均晶粒尺寸最小,拉伸断口韧窝最深且分布均匀,综合力学性能最优。 展开更多

This cell is formed by two twisted cylindrical mirrors. The optical parameters are determined based on the selection criteria, which include mirror filling efficiency, ~nterference fringes, and pattern stability. With a pattern of 174 passes, this cell gives a 22-m path length in a volume of 0.55 L. The results of an absorption measurement of oxygen at 13 091.7 cm-1 show that the fringe noise is lower than 6.54~10-4. The maximum allowed temperature change to keep the beam from exiting is 33 K, which indicates high stability against thermal drift. 展开更多
