A multi-tone seed laser generated by a sine wave phase modulated single-frequency laser is employed for stimulated Brillouin scattering suppression in an all-fiber amplifier. A demodulation signal which is π phase shifted with respect to the modulation signal is used to retrieve the single-frequency laser from the multi-tone laser. In experiment, we first optimize the all-fiber master-oscillator power-amplifier. With this amplifier, we demonstrate a single-frequency retrievable multi-tone laser with 330-W output when driven by the multi-tone seed, while the ultimate output power is only 130 W when driven by the single-frequency laser. Then, we carry out an experiment for retrieving the single-frequency laser from the amplified multi-tone laser. Results indicate that the single-frequency laser can be retrieved with a sideband suppression of more than 20 dB. Retrieving an even higher power single-frequency laser is possible if a high power demodulator is available.展开更多

A digital filter with ideal sloping shape in frequency domain is designed for frequency discrimination. With this filter, the FM signal is converted into AM-FM signal by frequency-to-amplitude conversion. The modulating signal is finally extracted from the envelope of the AM-FM signal. Simulations show that the digital demodulation method could accurately recover the modulating signal in low signal noise ratio (SNR) circumstance, and has good performance in suppressing interference of harmonies of traction current frequency. The feasibility of the proposed method is proved in a hardware system based on SHARC DSP.展开更多

It makes the analysis and processing of such an image more difficult and sometime impossible. In this paper, a unified multi-toning image adjustment method is proposed to solve this problem. First, a novel unsupervised clustering method was proposed to partition the source and the target image into a certain number of subsets with similar color statistics. By matching the texture characteristics and luminance distribution between the blocks, it can create optimized correspondence. Then, the color information was transferred from the matched pixels in the source blocks to the target ones. Graph cut method was used to optimize the seams between different subsets in the final step. This method can automatically perform color adjustment of a multi-toning image. It is simple and efficient. Various results show the validity of this method.展开更多

The effects of affecting factors originating from the deviation from the right operation bias voltage and unbalanced amplitude, and the phase of the radio frequency (RF) drive signals on the performance of the multi-tone source are discussed in detail. Based on the theoretical analysis, high-quality 50-tone out- put is successfully realized. Experiments under some implementation imperfections are also carried out. An algorithm used to calculate the coefficients of the optimal shortening Time Domain Equalizer (TDE) was given by Melsa. However, this algorithm requires that the length of the TDE must be smaller than or equal to the memory length of the target impulse response. This paper modifies this algorithm and makes it not only fit for calculating the coefficients of the TDE with arbitrary length, but also have a much less computational time.展开更多

The objective of this paper is to model the FMT system with polyphase fil- terbank network, design its synthesis/analysis orthogonal filterbanks and analyze their performance. Oversampled and critically sampled cases of FMT system are discussed in detail. Perfect Reconstruc- tion (PR) properties of M parallel orthogonal subchannels in the case of critically sampled is derived from filterbank polyphase decomposition. Diverse types of prototype filters which include Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) and Finite Impulse Response (FIR) are designed and analyzed. Performance analysis of orthogonal filterbanks which are implemented by these prototype filters are proposed and compared respectively. Simulation results of FMT orthogonal filterbanks are presented. Visible light communication(VLC)based on the micro light emitting diode(micro-LED)has attracted increasing attention owing to its high bandwidth,low power consumption,and high security.Compared with semi-polar or non-...Visible light communication(VLC)based on the micro light emitting diode(micro-LED)has attracted increasing attention owing to its high bandwidth,low power consumption,and high security.Compared with semi-polar or non-polar micro-LEDs,the commercial polar micro-LED has the advantages of low cost and more mature epitaxy technique.In this study,green micro-LEDs with different indium tin oxide(ITO)sizes are fabricated based on the commercial c-plane LED epitaxial wafer.The transmission performance of 80,100,and 150μm devices has been studied in detail.A partial pre-equalization scheme is utilized to increase data rates.Finally,the VLC system with a 100μm green micro-LED as the transmitter could achieve a maximum data rate of 3.59 Gbit/s.Such a result will be beneficial to promote the further development of low-cost,high-speed VLC devices in the future.展开更多
