MTC: A Multi-Task Model for Encrypted Network Traffic Classification Based on Transformer and 1D-CNN 被引量:1

Traffic characterization(e.g.,chat,video)and application identifi-cation(e.g.,FTP,Facebook)are two of the more crucial jobs in encrypted network traffic classification.These two activities are typically carried out separately by existing systems using separate models,significantly adding to the difficulty of network administration.Convolutional Neural Network(CNN)and Transformer are deep learning-based approaches for network traf-fic classification.CNN is good at extracting local features while ignoring long-distance information from the network traffic sequence,and Transformer can capture long-distance feature dependencies while ignoring local details.Based on these characteristics,a multi-task learning model that combines Transformer and 1D-CNN for encrypted traffic classification is proposed(MTC).In order to make up for the Transformer’s lack of local detail feature extraction capability and the 1D-CNN’s shortcoming of ignoring long-distance correlation information when processing traffic sequences,the model uses a parallel structure to fuse the features generated by the Transformer block and the 1D-CNN block with each other using a feature fusion block.This structure improved the representation of traffic features by both blocks and allows the model to perform well with both long and short length sequences.The model simultaneously handles multiple tasks,which lowers the cost of training.Experiments reveal that on the ISCX VPN-nonVPN dataset,the model achieves an average F1 score of 98.25%and an average recall of 98.30%for the task of identifying applications,and an average F1 score of 97.94%,and an average recall of 97.54%for the task of traffic characterization.When advanced models on the same dataset are chosen for comparison,the model produces the best results.To prove the generalization,we applied MTC to CICIDS2017 dataset,and our model also achieved good results. 展开更多

Task-Structured Curriculum Learning for Multi-Task Distillation:Enhancing Step-by-Step Knowledge Transfer in Language Models

Knowledge distillation has become a standard technique for compressing large language models into efficient student models,but existing methods often struggle to balance prediction accuracy with explanation quality.Recent approaches such as Distilling Step-by-Step(DSbS)introduce explanation supervision,yet they apply it in a uniform manner that may not fully exploit the different learning dynamics of prediction and explanation.In this work,we propose a task-structured curriculum learning(TSCL)framework that structures training into three sequential phases:(i)prediction-only,to establish stable feature representations;(ii)joint prediction-explanation,to align task outputs with rationale generation;and(iii)explanation-only,to refine the quality of rationales.This design provides a simple but effective modification to DSbS,requiring no architectural changes and adding negligible training cost.We justify the phase scheduling with ablation studies and convergence analysis,showing that an initial prediction-heavy stage followed by a balanced joint phase improves both stability and explanation alignment.Extensive experiments on five datasets(e-SNLI,ANLI,CommonsenseQA,SVAMP,and MedNLI)demonstrate that TSCL consistently outperforms strong baselines,achieving gains of+1.7-2.6 points in accuracy and 0.8-1.2 in ROUGE-L,corresponding to relative error reductions of up to 21%.Beyond lexical metrics,human evaluation and ERASERstyle faithfulness diagnostics confirm that TSCL produces more faithful and informative explanations.Comparative training curves further reveal faster convergence and lower variance across seeds.Efficiency analysis shows less than 3%overhead in wall-clock training time and no additional inference cost,making the approach practical for realworld deployment.This study demonstrates that a simple task-structured curriculum can significantly improve the effectiveness of knowledge distillation.By separating and sequencing objectives,TSCL achieves a better balance between accuracy,stability,and explanation quality.The framework generalizes across domains,including medical NLI,and offers a principled recipe for future applications in multimodal reasoning and reinforcement learning. 展开更多

Plant breeding stands as a cornerstone for agricultural productivity and the safeguarding of food security.The advent of Genomic Selection heralds a new epoch in breeding,characterized by its capacity to harness whole-genome variation for genomic prediction.This approach transcends the need for prior knowledge of genes associated with specific traits.Nonetheless,the vast dimensionality of genomic data juxtaposed with the relatively limited number of phenotypic samples often leads to the“curse of dimensionality”,where traditional statistical,machine learning,and deep learning methods are prone to overfitting and suboptimal predictive performance.To surmount this challenge,we introduce a unified Variational auto-encoder based Multi-task Genomic Prediction model(VMGP)that integrates self-supervised genomic compression and reconstruction with multiple prediction tasks.This approach provides a robust solution,offering a formidable predictive framework that has been rigorously validated across public datasets for wheat,rice,and maize.Our model demonstrates exceptional capabilities in multi-phenotype and multi-environment genomic prediction,successfully navigating the complexities of cross-population genomic selection and underscoring its unique strengths and utility.Furthermore,by integrating VMGP with model interpretability,we can effectively triage relevant single nucleotide polymorphisms,thereby enhancing prediction performance and proposing potential cost-effective genotyping solutions.The VMGP framework,with its simplicity,stable predictive prowess,and open-source code,is exceptionally well-suited for broad dissemination within plant breeding programs.It is particularly advantageous for breeders who prioritize phenotype prediction yet may not possess extensive knowledge in deep learning or proficiency in parameter tuning. 展开更多

MAMGBR: Group-Buying Recommendation Model Based on Multi-Head Attention Mechanism and Multi-Task Learning

As the group-buying model shows significant progress in attracting new users,enhancing user engagement,and increasing platform profitability,providing personalized recommendations for group-buying users has emerged as a new challenge in the field of recommendation systems.This paper introduces a group-buying recommendation model based on multi-head attention mechanisms and multi-task learning,termed the Multi-head Attention Mechanisms and Multi-task Learning Group-Buying Recommendation(MAMGBR)model,specifically designed to optimize group-buying recommendations on e-commerce platforms.The core dataset of this study comes from the Chinese maternal and infant e-commerce platform“Beibei,”encompassing approximately 430,000 successful groupbuying actions and over 120,000 users.Themodel focuses on twomain tasks:recommending items for group organizers(Task Ⅰ)and recommending participants for a given group-buying event(Task Ⅱ).In model evaluation,MAMGBR achieves an MRR@10 of 0.7696 for Task I,marking a 20.23%improvement over baseline models.Furthermore,in Task II,where complex interaction patterns prevail,MAMGBR utilizes auxiliary loss functions to effectively model the multifaceted roles of users,items,and participants,leading to a 24.08%increase in MRR@100 under a 1:99 sample ratio.Experimental results show that compared to benchmark models,such as NGCF and EATNN,MAMGBR’s integration ofmulti-head attentionmechanisms,expert networks,and gating mechanisms enables more accurate modeling of user preferences and social associations within group-buying scenarios,significantly enhancing recommendation accuracy and platform group-buying success rates. 展开更多

Accurate short-term forecast of offshore wind fields is still challenging for numerical weather prediction models.Based on three years of 48-hour forecast data from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts Integrated Forecasting System global model(ECMWF-IFS)over 14 offshore weather stations along the coast of Shandong Province,this study introduces a multi-task learning(MTL)model(TabNet-MTL),which significantly improves the forecast bias of near-surface wind direction and speed simultaneously.TabNet-MTL adopts the feature engineering method,utilizes mean square error as the loss function,and employs the 5-fold cross validation method to ensure the generalization ability of the trained model.It demonstrates superior skills in wind field correction across different forecast lead times over all stations compared to its single-task version(TabNet-STL)and three other popular single-task learning models(Random Forest,LightGBM,and XGBoost).Results show that it significantly reduces root mean square error of the ECMWF-IFS wind speed forecast from 2.20 to 1.25 m s−1,and increases the forecast accuracy of wind direction from 50%to 65%.As an explainable deep learning model,the weather stations and long-term temporal statistics of near-surface wind speed are identified as the most influential variables for TabNet-MTL in constructing its feature engineering. 展开更多

Satellite communication technology has emerged as a key solution to address the challenges of data transmission in remote areas.By overcoming the limitations of traditional terrestrial communication networks,it enables long-distance data transmission anytime and anywhere,ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of water level data,which is particularly crucial for fishway water level monitoring.To enhance the effectiveness of fishway water level monitoring,this study proposes a multi-task learning model,AS-SOMTF,designed for real-time and comprehensive prediction.The model integrates auxiliary sequences with primary input sequences to capture complex relationships and dependencies,thereby improving representational capacity.In addition,a novel timeseries embedding algorithm,AS-SOM,is introduced,which combines generative inference and pooling operations to optimize prediction efficiency for long sequences.This innovation not only ensures the timely transmission of water level data but also enhances the accuracy of real-time monitoring.Compared with traditional models such as Transformer and Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)networks,the proposed model achieves improvements of 3.8%and 1.4%in prediction accuracy,respectively.These advancements provide more precise technical support for water level forecasting and resource management in the Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of the Lancang River,contributing to ecosystem protection and improved operational safety. 展开更多

Microseismic signal processing and rockburst disaster identification:A multi-task deep learning and machine learning approach

Underground engineering projects such as deep tunnel excavation often encounter rockburst disasters accompanied by numerous microseismic events.Rapid interpretation of microseismic signals is crucial for the timely identification of rockbursts.However,conventional processing encompasses multi-step workflows,including classification,denoising,picking,locating,and computational analysis,coupled with manual intervention,which collectively compromise the reliability of early warnings.To address these challenges,this study innovatively proposes the“microseismic stethoscope"-a multi-task machine learning and deep learning model designed for the automated processing of massive microseismic signals.This model efficiently extracts three key parameters that are necessary for recognizing rockburst disasters:rupture location,microseismic energy,and moment magnitude.Specifically,the model extracts raw waveform features from three dedicated sub-networks:a classifier for source zone classification,and two regressors for microseismic energy and moment magnitude estimation.This model demonstrates superior efficiency compared to traditional processing and semi-automated processing,reducing per-event processing time from 0.71 s to 0.49 s to merely 0.036 s.It concurrently achieves 98%accuracy in source zone classification,with microseismic energy and moment magnitude estimation errors of 0.13 and 0.05,respectively.This model has been well applied and validated in the Daxiagu Tunnel case in Sichuan,China.The application results indicate that the model is as accurate as traditional methods in determining source parameters,and thus can be used to identify potential geomechanical processes of rockburst disasters.By enhancing the signal processing reliability of microseismic events,the proposed model in this study presents a significant advancement in the identification of rockburst disasters. 展开更多

A lightweight physics-conditioned diffusion multi-model for medical image reconstruction

Background:Medical imaging advancements are constrained by fundamental trade-offs between acquisition speed,radiation dose,and image quality,forcing clinicians to work with noisy,incomplete data.Existing reconstruction methods either compromise on accuracy with iterative algorithms or suffer from limited generalizability with task-specific deep learning approaches.Methods:We present LDM-PIR,a lightweight physics-conditioned diffusion multi-model for medical image reconstruction that addresses key challenges in magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),CT,and low-photon imaging.Unlike traditional iterative methods,which are computationally expensive,or task-specific deep learning approaches lacking generalizability,integrates three innovations.A physics-conditioned diffusion framework that embeds acquisition operators(Fourier/Radon transforms)and noise models directly into the reconstruction process.A multi-model architecture that unifies denoising,inpainting,and super-resolution via shared weight conditioning.A lightweight design(2.1M parameters)enabling rapid inference(0.8s/image on GPU).Through self-supervised fine-tuning with measurement consistency losses adapts to new imaging modalities using fewer annotated samples.Results:Achieves state-of-the-art performance on fastMRI(peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR):34.04 for single-coil/31.50 for multi-coil)and Lung Image Database Consortium and Image Database Resource Initiative(28.83 PSNR under Poisson noise).Clinical evaluations demonstrate superior preservation of anatomical structures,with SSIM improvements of 8.8%for single-coil and 4.36%for multi-coil MRI over uDPIR.Conclusion:It offers a flexible,efficient,and scalable solution for medical image reconstruction,addressing the challenges of noise,undersampling,and modality generalization.The model’s lightweight design allows for rapid inference,while its self-supervised fine-tuning capability minimizes reliance on large annotated datasets,making it suitable for real-world clinical applications. 展开更多

Model evaluation using benchmark datasets is an important method to measure the capability of large language models(LLMs)in specific domains,and it is mainly used to assess the knowledge and reasoning abilities of LLMs.Therefore,in order to better assess the capability of LLMs in the agricultural domain,Agri-Eval was proposed as a benchmark for assessing the knowledge and reasoning ability of LLMs in agriculture.The assessment dataset used in Agri-Eval covered seven major disciplines in the agricultural domain:crop science,horticulture,plant protection,animal husbandry,forest science,aquaculture science,and grass science,and contained a total of 2283 questions.Among domestic general-purpose LLMs,DeepSeek R1 performed best with an accuracy rate of 75.49%.In the realm of international general-purpose LLMs,Gemini 2.0 pro exp 0205 standed out as the top performer,achieving an accuracy rate of 74.28%.As an LLMs in agriculture vertical,Shennong V2.0 outperformed all the LLMs in China,and the answer accuracy rate of agricultural knowledge exceeded that of all the existing general-purpose LLMs.The launch of Agri-Eval helped the LLM developers to comprehensively evaluate the model's capability in the field of agriculture through a variety of tasks and tests to promote the development of the LLMs in the field of agriculture. 展开更多

The Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)technique enables critical engineering predictions and is widely adopted.However,since this iterative computation relies on the fixed-point iteration,it may converge to unexpected non-physical phase points in practice.We conduct an analysis on the phase-space characteristics and the fixed-point theory underlying the k-ε turbulence model,and employ the classical Kolmogorov flow as a framework,leveraging its direct numerical simulation(DNS)data to construct a one-dimensional(1D)system under periodic/fixed boundary conditions.The RANS results demonstrate that under periodic boundary conditions,the k-ε model exhibits only a unique trivial fixed point,with asymptotes capturing the phase portraits.The stability of this trivial fixed point is determined by a mathematically derived stability phase diagram,indicating the fact that the k-ε model will never converge to correct values under periodic conditions.In contrast,under fixed boundary conditions,the model can yield a stable non-trivial fixed point.The evolutionary mechanisms and their relationship with boundary condition settings systematically explain the inherent limitations of the k-ε model,i.e.,its deficiency in computing the flow field under periodic boundary conditions and sensitivity to boundary-value specifications under fixed boundary conditions.These conclusions are finally validated with the open-source code OpenFOAM. 展开更多

Utilizing finite element analysis,the ballistic protection provided by a combination of perforated D-shaped and base armor plates,collectively referred to as radiator armor,is evaluated.ANSYS Explicit Dynamics is employed to simulate the ballistic impact of 7.62 mm armor-piercing projectiles on Aluminum AA5083-H116 and Steel Secure 500 armors,focusing on the evaluation of material deformation and penetration resistance at varying impact points.While the D-shaped armor plate is penetrated by the armor-piercing projectiles,the combination of the perforated D-shaped and base armor plates successfully halts penetration.A numerical model based on the finite element method is developed using software such as SolidWorks and ANSYS to analyze the interaction between radiator armor and bullet.The perforated design of radiator armor is to maintain airflow for radiator function,with hole sizes smaller than the bullet core diameter to protect radiator assemblies.Predictions are made regarding the brittle fracture resulting from the projectile core′s bending due to asymmetric impact,and the resulting fragments failed to penetrate the perforated base armor plate.Craters are formed on the surface of the perforated D-shaped armor plate due to the impact of projectile fragments.The numerical model accurately predicts hole growth and projectile penetration upon impact with the armor,demonstrating effective protection of the radiator assemblies by the radiator armor. 展开更多

Recommendation systems are key to boosting user engagement,satisfaction,and retention,particularly on media platforms where personalized content is vital.Sequential recommendation systems learn from user-item interactions to predict future items of interest.However,many current methods rely on unique user and item IDs,limiting their ability to represent users and items effectively,especially in zero-shot learning scenarios where training data is scarce.With the rapid development of Large Language Models(LLMs),researchers are exploring their potential to enhance recommendation systems.However,there is a semantic gap between the linguistic semantics of LLMs and the collaborative semantics of recommendation systems,where items are typically indexed by IDs.Moreover,most research focuses on item representations,neglecting personalized user modeling.To address these issues,we propose a sequential recommendation framework using LLMs,called CIT-Rec,a model that integrates Collaborative semantics for user representation and Image and Text information for item representation to enhance Recommendations.Specifically,by aligning intuitive image information with text containing semantic features,we can more accurately represent items,improving item representation quality.We focus not only on item representations but also on user representations.To more precisely capture users’personalized preferences,we use traditional sequential recommendation models to train on users’historical interaction data,effectively capturing behavioral patterns.Finally,by combining LLMs and traditional sequential recommendation models,we allow the LLM to understand linguistic semantics while capturing collaborative semantics.Extensive evaluations on real-world datasets show that our model outperforms baseline methods,effectively combining user interaction history with item visual and textual modalities to provide personalized recommendations. 展开更多

The National Geophysical Data Center(NGDC)of the United States has collected aeromagnetic data for input into a series of geomagnetic models to improve model resolution;however,in the Tibetan Plateau region,ground-based observations remain insufficient to clearly reflect the characteristics of the region’s lithospheric magnetism.In this study,we evaluate the lithospheric magnetism of the Tibetan Plateau by using a 3D surface spline model based on observations from>200 newly constructed repeat stations(portable stations)to determine the spatial distribution of plateau geomagnetism,as well as its correlation with the tectonic features of the region.We analyze the relationships between M≥5 earthquakes and lithospheric magnetic field variations on the Tibetan Plateau and identify regions susceptible to strong earthquakes.We compare the geomagnetic results with those from an enhanced magnetic model(EMM2015)developed by the NGDC and provide insights into improving lithospheric magnetic field calculations in the Tibetan Plateau region.Further research reveals that these magnetic anomalies exhibit distinct differences from the magnetic-seismic correlation mechanisms observed in other tectonic settings;here,they are governed primarily by the combined effects of compressional magnetism,thermal magnetism,and deep thermal stress.This study provides new evidence of geomagnetic anomalies on the Tibetan Plateau,interprets them physically,and demonstrates their potential for identifying seismic hazard zones on the Plateau. 展开更多

(Quasi-)closed-form results for the statistical properties of unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)airto-ground channels are derived for the first time using a novel spatial-vector-based method from a threedimensional(3-D)arbitrary-elevation one-cylinder model.The derived results include a closed-form expression for the space-time correlation function and some quasi-closed-form ones for the space-Doppler power spectrum density,the level crossing rate,and the average fading duration,which are shown to be the generalizations of those previously obtained from the two-dimensional(2-D)one-ring model and the 3-D low-elevation one-cylinder model for terrestrial mobile-to-mobile channels.The close agreements between the theoretical results and the simulations as well as the measurements validate the utility of the derived channel statistics.Based on the derived expressions,the impacts of some parameters on the channel characteristics are investigated in an effective,efficient,and explicable way,which leads to a general guideline on the manual parameter estimation from the measurement description. 展开更多

Ecological restoration model selection for abandoned mines in the Luo River Basin,Eastern Qinling Mountains

Effective management of mining areas in the Luo River Basin,located in the eastern Qinling Mountains,is vital for the integrated protection and restoration needed to support the high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.Using the‘cupball'model,this study analyzes the limiting factors and restoration characteristics across four mining areas and proposes a conceptual model for selecting appropriate restoration approaches.A second conceptual model is then introduced to address regional development needs,incorporating ecological conservation,safety protection,and people's wellbeing.The applicability of the integrated model selection framework is demonstrated through a case study on the south bank of the Qinglongjian River.The results indicate that:(1)The key limiting factors are similar across cases,but the degree of ecological degradation varies.(2)Mildly degraded areas are represented by a shallower and narrower‘cup',where natural recovery is the preferred approach,whereas moderately and severely degraded systems call for assisted regeneration and ecological reconstruction,respectively.(3)When the restoration models determined based on limiting factors and development needs are consistent,the model is directly applicable;if they differ,the option involving less artificial intervention is preferred;(4)Monitoring of the restored mining area on the Qinglongjian River's south bank confirms significant improvements in soil erosion control and vegetation coverage.This study provides a transferable methodology for balancing resource extraction with ecosystem conservation,offering practical insights for other ecologically vulnerable mining regions. 展开更多

A peridynamics modeling approach for pre-cracked rock cracking processes under impact by integrating Drucker-Prager plasticity model and efficient contact model

In rock engineering,natural cracks in rock masses subjected to external loads tend to initiate and propagate,leading to potential safety hazards.To investigate the effect of cracking behavior on the mechanical properties of rocks,the cracking processes of pre-cracked rocks have been extensively studied using numerical modeling methods.The peridynamics(PD)exhibits advantages over other numerical methods due to the absence of the requirements for remeshing and external crack growth criterion.However,for modeling pre-cracked rock cracking processes under impact,current PD implementations lack generally applicable rock constitutive models and impact contact models,which leads to difficulties in determining rock material parameters and efficiently calculating impact loads.This paper proposes a non-ordinary state-based peridynamics(NOSBPD)modeling method integrating the Drucker-Prager(DP)plasticity model and an efficient contact model to address the above problems.In the proposed method,the Drucker-Prager plasticity model is integrated into the NOSBPD,thereby equipping NOSBPD with the capability to accurately characterize the nonlinear stress-strain relationship inherent in rocks.An efficient contact model between particles and meshes is designed to calculate the impact loads,which is essentially a coupling method of PD with the finite element method(FEM).The effectiveness of the proposed NOSBPD modeling method is verified by comparison with other numerical methods and experiments.Experimental results indicate that the proposed method can effectively and accurately predict the 3D cracking processes of pre-cracked cracks under impact loading,and the maximum principal stress is the key driver behind wing crack formation in pre-cracked rocks. 展开更多
