Classical network reliability problems assume both net- works and components have only binary states, fully working or fully failed states. But many actual networks are multi-state, such as communication networks and transportation networks. The nodes and arcs in the networks may be in intermediate states which are not fully working either fully failed. A simulation ap- proach for computing the two-terminal reliability of a multi-state network is described. Two-terminal reliability is defined as the probability that d units of demand can be supplied from the source to sink nodes under the time threshold T. The capacities of arcs may be in a stochastic state following any discrete or continuous distribution. The transmission time of each arc is also not a fixed number but stochastic according to its current capacity and de- mand. To solve this problem, a capacitated stochastic coloured Petri net is proposed for modelling the system behaviour. Places and transitions respectively stand for the nodes and arcs of a net- work. Capacitated transition and self-modified token colour with route information are defined to describe the multi-state network. By the simulation, the two-terminal reliability and node importance can be estimated and the optimal route whose reliability is highest can also be given. Finally, two examples of different kinds of multi- state networks are given. 展开更多

Integration of natural gas and electricity transmission systems has strengthened interdependence between the two systems.Due to the close interconnection through coupling elements between the power system(PS)and natural gas system(NGS)when a disturbance happens in one system,a series of complicated sequences of dependent events may follow in another system.Therefore,an integrated planning model jointing security-constrained considering cascading effects is proposed in this paper.Meanwhile,natural gas and electricity transmission systems considering stochastic failures and various operating characteristics of components can be viewed as a multistate systems.Moreover,power-to-gas(P2G),as a promising technology proposed to store surplus renewable energy,is considered in the integrated planning.First,multi-state models for different components are developed to describe realistic operating conditions in natural gas and electricity transmission systems.Furthermore,a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP)approach considers N-1 contingency and cascading effects between natural gas and the electrical power systems.Therefore,a security-constrained integrated planning model of natural gas and electricity transmission systems is represented.The proposed methods are validated using an integrated gas and power test system. 展开更多

The optimal transmission lines assignment with maximal reliabilities (OTLAMR) in the multi-source multi-sink multi-state computer network (MMMCN) was investigated. The OTLAMR problem contains two sub-problems: the MMMCN reliabilities evaluation and multi-objective transmission lines assignment optimization. First, a reliability evaluation with a transmission line assignment (RETLA) algorithm is proposed to calculate the MMMCN reliabilities under the cost constraint for a certain transmission lines configuration. Second, the non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm II (NSGA-II) is adopted to find the non-dominated set of the transmission lines assignments based on the reliabilities obtained from the RETLA algorithm. By combining the RETLA and the NSGA-II algorithms together, the RETLA-NSGA II algorithm is proposed to solve the OTLAMR problem. The experiments result show that the RETLA-NSGA II algorithm can provide efficient solutions in a reasonable time, from which the decision makers can choose the best solution based on their preferences and experiences. 展开更多

However, being an... Reliability is a desirable performance indicator of many real-world systems to measure the quality level. One general method for evaluating multi-state reliability is using d-minimal paths (d-MPs). However, being an NP-hard problem, searching for all d-MPs is a rather challenging task. This paper proposes an improved algorithm to solve the d-MP problem. To reduce the search space of d-MPs, a concept of lower capacity bound is introduced into the d-MP problem, and an effective technique is developed to fred lower capacity bounds. Meanwhile, the fast enumeration method which is a recent improvement to the traditional enunaeration method is employed to solve d-MPs. In addition, by introducing the operation of transforming undirected edges into directed edges, the proposed algorithm is applicable to solving both directed networks and undirected networks. Through numerical experiments, it is found that the proposed algorithm holds a distinct advantage over the existing methods in solving all d-MPs. 展开更多

In the traditional reliability evaluation based on the Bayesian method,the failure probability of nodes is usually expressed by the average failure rate within a period of time.Aiming at the shortcomings of traditional Bayesian network reliability evaluation methods,this paper proposes a Bayesian network reliability evaluation method considering dynamics and fuzziness.The fuzzy theory and the dynamic of component failure probability are introduced to construct the dynamic fuzzy set function.Based on the solving characteristics of the dynamic fuzzy set and Bayesian network,the fuzzy dynamic probability and fuzzy dynamic importance degree of the fault state of leaf nodes are solved.Finally,through the dynamic fuzzy reliability analysis of CNC machine tool hydraulic system balance circuit,the application of this method in system reliability evaluation is verified,which provides support for fault diagnosis of CNC machine tools. 展开更多

Seal authentication is an important task for verifying the authenticity of stamped seals used in various domains to protect legal documents from tampering and counterfeiting.Stamped seal inspection is commonly audited manually to ensure document authenticity.However,manual assessment of seal images is tedious and laborintensive due to human errors,inconsistent placement,and completeness of the seal.Traditional image recognition systems are inadequate enough to identify seal types accurately,necessitating a neural network-based method for seal image recognition.However,neural network-based classification algorithms,such as Residual Networks(ResNet)andVisualGeometryGroup with 16 layers(VGG16)yield suboptimal recognition rates on stamp datasets.Additionally,the fixed training data categories make handling new categories to be a challenging task.This paper proposes amulti-stage seal recognition algorithmbased on Siamese network to overcome these limitations.Firstly,the seal image is pre-processed by applying an image rotation correction module based on Histogram of Oriented Gradients(HOG).Secondly,the similarity between input seal image pairs is measured by utilizing a similarity comparison module based on the Siamese network.Finally,we compare the results with the pre-stored standard seal template images in the database to obtain the seal type.To evaluate the performance of the proposed method,we further create a new seal image dataset that contains two subsets with 210,000 valid labeled pairs in total.The proposed work has a practical significance in industries where automatic seal authentication is essential as in legal,financial,and governmental sectors,where automatic seal recognition can enhance document security and streamline validation processes.Furthermore,the experimental results show that the proposed multi-stage method for seal image recognition outperforms state-of-the-art methods on the two established datasets. 展开更多

Voltage sags in power system may lead to serious problems such as the off-grid of distributed generation and electrical equipment failures.As a novel type of power electronic equipment,a flexible multi-state switch(FMSS)is capable to support the voltage during the grid faults.In this paper,a voltage control strategy to support the voltage in a distribution network is proposed by introducing three-port FMSS.The positive-negative-sequence compensation(PNSC)scheme is adopted to control the active and reactive current.This control scheme eliminates active power oscillations at the port of voltage sags and reduces coupling oscillations of other ports.Based on the characteristics of the voltage support under PNSC scheme,two voltage support strategies are proposed.A proportional-integral controller is introduced to provide the reactive power references,which eliminates the errors when estimating the grid voltage and impedance.A current limiting scheme is adopted to keep the port current in a safe range by adjusting the active and reactive power references.The voltage support strategies in two different voltage sags are simulated,and results show the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control strategies. 展开更多

The Bayesian networks (BNs) provide a robust probabilistic method of reasoning under uncertainty and have been successfully applied to a variety of real-world tasks. Aiming to explore the capabilities of the BN formalism in reliability analysis of monotone coherent multi-state systems, the BNs are compared with a popular tool for reliability analysis of monotone coherent multi-state systems, namely the multi-state fault trees (MFTs). It is shown that any MFT can be directly mapped into BN and the basic inference techniques on the latter may be used to obtain classical parameters computed from the former (i.e. probability distribution of top variable, minimal upper vectors and maximum lower vectors for any performance level, importance measures of components). Furthermore, some additional information can be obtained by using BN, both at the modeling and analysis level. At the modeling level, several restrictive assumptions implicit in the MFT methodology can be removed and various kinds of dependencies among components can be accommodated. At the analysis level, a general diagnostic analysis can be performed. Stochastic resonance can utilize the energy of noise to enhance weak frequency characteristic.This paper proposes an adaptive multi-stable stochastic resonance method assisted by the neural network(NN)and physics supervision(directly numerical simulation of the physical system).Different from traditional adaptive algorithm,the evaluation of the objective function(i.e.,fitness function)in iteration process of adaptive algorithm is through a trained neural network instead of the numerical simulation.It will bring a dramatically reduction in computation time.Considering predictive bias from the neural network,a secondary correction procedure is introduced to the reevaluate the top performers and then resort them in iteration process through physics supervision.Though it may increase the computing cost,the accuracy will be enhanced.Two examples are given to illustrate the proposed method.For a classical multi-stable stochastic resonance system,the results show that the proposed method not only amplifies weak signals effectively but also significantly reduces computing time.For the detection of weak signal from outer ring in bearings,by introducing a variable scale coefficient,the proposed method can also give a satisfactory result,and the characteristic frequency of the fault signal can be extracted correctly. 展开更多

The high proportion of uncertain distributed power sources and the access to large-scale random electric vehicle(EV)charging resources further aggravate the voltage fluctuation of the distribution network,and the existing research has not deeply explored the EV active-reactive synergistic regulating characteristics,and failed to realize themulti-timescale synergistic control with other regulatingmeans,For this reason,this paper proposes amultilevel linkage coordinated optimization strategy to reduce the voltage deviation of the distribution network.Firstly,a capacitor bank reactive power compensation voltage control model and a distributed photovoltaic(PV)activereactive power regulationmodel are established.Additionally,an external characteristicmodel of EVactive-reactive power regulation is developed considering the four-quadrant operational characteristics of the EVcharger.Amultiobjective optimization model of the distribution network is then constructed considering the time-series coupling constraints of multiple types of voltage regulators.A multi-timescale control strategy is proposed by considering the impact of voltage regulators on active-reactive EV energy consumption and PV energy consumption.Then,a four-stage voltage control optimization strategy is proposed for various types of voltage regulators with multiple time scales.Themulti-objective optimization is solved with the improvedDrosophila algorithmto realize the power fluctuation control of the distribution network and themulti-stage voltage control optimization.Simulation results validate that the proposed voltage control optimization strategy achieves the coordinated control of decentralized voltage control resources in the distribution network.It effectively reduces the voltage deviation of the distribution network while ensuring the energy demand of EV users and enhancing the stability and economic efficiency of the distribution network. 展开更多

G-GRU Multi-step Trajectory Prediction Network Based on Geographical Location Information

This study proposes an improved hybrid approach for traffic prediction of autonomous underwater vehicles(AUVs)to address the challenges posed by complex deep-sea conditions and obstacles.Traditional models often suffer from prediction lag and reduced accuracy due to inadequate integration of environmental factors.To overcome these limitations,we introduce a novel G-GRU multistep prediction network that combines an enhanced polynomial fitting algorithm with a gated recurrent unit(GRU)neural network.For sin-gle-step prediction,the improved polynomial fitting algorithm adaptively se-lects terms and selection points to enhance precision,whereas for multistep prediction,the GRU network,with its reduced parameter set and shorter training duration,effectively captures long-term dependencies.This method-ology demonstrates superior prediction accuracy and reduced lag under both raster and latitude–longitude maps.The experimental results show that the G-GRU network significantly outperforms the traditional GRU model in terms of metrics such as the root mean square error(RMSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and mean absolute percentage error(MAPE),providing robust sup-port for AUV short-term positioning and long-term planning,thus advancing marine resource utilization and safeguarding national maritime interests. 展开更多

Optimizing routing and resource allocation in decentralized unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)networks remains challenging due to interference and rapidly changing topologies.The authors introduce a novel framework combining double deep Q-networks(DDQNs)and graph neural networks(GNNs)for joint routing and resource allocation.The framework uses GNNs to model the network topology and DDQNs to adaptively control routing and resource allocation,addressing interference and improving network performance.Simulation results show that the proposed approach outperforms traditional methods such as Closest-to-Destination(c2Dst),Max-SINR(mSINR),and Multi-Layer Perceptron(MLP)-based models,achieving approximately 23.5% improvement in throughput,50% increase in connection probability,and 17.6% reduction in number of hops,demonstrating its effectiveness in dynamic UAV networks. 展开更多

To explore the material basis and mechanisms of the anti-inflammatory effects of Hibiscus mutabilis L..The active ingredients and potential targets of Hibiscus mutabilis L.were obtained through the literature review and SwissADME platform.Genes related to the inflammation were collected using Genecards and OMIM databases,and the intersection genes were submitted on STRING and DAVID websites.Then,the protein interaction network(PPI),gene ontology(GO)and pathway(KEGG)were analyzed.Cytoscape 3.7.2 software was used to construct the“Hibiscus mutabilis L.-active ingredient-target-inflammation”network diagram,and AutoDockTools-1.5.6 software was used for the molecular docking verification.The antiinflammatory effect of Hibiscus mutabilis L.active ingredient was verified by the RAW264.7 inflammatory cell model.The results showed that 11 active components and 94 potential targets,1029 inflammatory targets and 24 intersection targets were obtained from Hibiscus mutabilis L..The key anti-inflammatory active ingredients of Hibiscus mutabilis L.are quercetin,apigenin and luteolin.Its action pathway is mainly related to NF-κB,cancer pathway and TNF signaling pathway.Cell experiments showed that total flavonoids of Hibiscus mutabilis L.could effectively inhibit the expression of tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α),interleukin 8(IL-8)and epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)in LPS-induced RAW 264.7 inflammatory cells.It also downregulates the phosphorylation of human nuclear factor ĸB inhibitory protein α(IĸBα)and NF-κB p65 subunit protein(p65).Overall,the anti-inflammatory effect of Hibiscus mutabilis L.is related to many active components,many signal pathways and targets,which provides a theoretical basis for its further development and application. 展开更多

The existence of absorption and reflection of light underwater leads to problems such as color distortion and blue-green bias in underwater images.In this study,a depthwise separable convolution-based generative adversarial network(GAN)algorithm was proposed.Taking GAN as the basic framework,it combined a depthwise separable convolution module,attention mechanism,and reconstructed convolution module to realize the enhancement of underwater degraded images.Multi-scale features were captured by the depthwise separable convolution module,and the attention mechanism was utilized to enhance attention to important features.The reconstructed convolution module further extracts and fuses local and global features.Experimental results showed that the algorithm performs well in improving the color bias and blurring of underwater images,with PSNR reaching 27.835,SSIM reaching 0.883,UIQM reaching 3.205,and UCIQE reaching 0.713.The enhanced image outperforms the comparison algorithm in both subjective and objective metrics. 展开更多

Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks are one of the severe threats to network infrastructure,sometimes bypassing traditional diagnosis algorithms because of their evolving complexity.PresentMachine Learning(ML)techniques for DDoS attack diagnosis normally apply network traffic statistical features such as packet sizes and inter-arrival times.However,such techniques sometimes fail to capture complicated relations among various traffic flows.In this paper,we present a new multi-scale ensemble strategy given the Graph Neural Networks(GNNs)for improving DDoS detection.Our technique divides traffic into macro-and micro-level elements,letting various GNN models to get the two corase-scale anomalies and subtle,stealthy attack models.Through modeling network traffic as graph-structured data,GNNs efficiently learn intricate relations among network entities.The proposed ensemble learning algorithm combines the results of several GNNs to improve generalization,robustness,and scalability.Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets—UNSW-NB15,CICIDS2017,and CICDDoS2019—show that our approach outperforms traditional machine learning and deep learning models in detecting both high-rate and low-rate(stealthy)DDoS attacks,with significant improvements in accuracy and recall.These findings demonstrate the suggested method’s applicability and robustness for real-world implementation in contexts where several DDoS patterns coexist. 展开更多

Networked predictive control(NPC) has gained significant attention in recent years for its ability to effectively and actively address communication constraints in networked control systems(NCSs),such as network-induced delays,packet dropouts,and packet disorders.Despite significant advancements,the increasing complexity and dynamism of network environments,along with the growing complexity of systems,pose new challenges for NPC.These challenges include difficulties in system modeling,cyber attacks,component faults,limited network bandwidth,and the necessity for distributed collaboration.This survey aims to provide a comprehensive review of NPC strategies.It begins with a summary of the primary challenges faced by NCSs,followed by an introduction to the control structure and core concepts of NPC.The survey then discusses several typical NPC schemes and examines their extensions in the areas of secure control,fault-tolerant control,distributed coordinated control,and event-triggered control.Moreover,it reviews notable works that have implemented these schemes.Finally,the survey concludes by exploring typical applications of NPC schemes and highlighting several challenging issues that could guide future research efforts. 展开更多

Multi-responsive Hydrogel Featuring Synergistic Regulation of AIE and Mechanical Behaviors via Dynamic Hydrogen Bonding Network

A multi-stimuli-responsive hydrogel,P(VI-co-MAAC-NE),was successfully constructed by covalently integrating the aggregation-induced emission(AIE)moiety(Z)-N-(4-(1-cyano-2-(4-(diethylamino)phenyl)vinyl)-phenyl)methacrylamide(NE)into a dynamic hydrogen-bonding network composed of 1-vinylimidazole(VI)and methacrylic acid(MAAC)groups.The dense hydrogen-bonding network not only provides enhanced mechanical robustness,but also significantly enhances the AIE effect of NE by restricting its molecular motion.Under various external stimuli,the hydrogen bonds within the hydrogel network undergo reversible dissociation and reformation,thus enabling synergistic modulation of the hydrogel’s mechanical properties and luminescence behavior.Specifically,organic solvents disrupt the hydrogen-bonding network and the aggregation of the AIE moiety NE,resulting in macroscopic swelling and fluorescence quenching of the hydrogel.In strongly acidic conditions,protonation of NE molecules suppresses the intramolecular charge transfer(ICT)process,yielding a blue-shifted emission band accompanied by intense blue fluorescence;in highly alkaline environments,deprotonation of carboxyl groups induces hydrogel swelling and disperses NE aggregates,leading to pronounced fluorescence quenching.Moreover,the system exhibits thermally activated shape-memory behavior:heating above the glass transition temperature(T_(g):ca.62℃)softens the hydrogel to allow programmable reshaping,and subsequent hydrogen bond reformation at ambient conditions locks in the resultant geometries without sacrificing the hydrogel’s fluorescence performance.By capitalizing on these multi-stimuli-responsive characteristics and shape-memory behavior,the potential of hydrogel P(VI-co-MAAC-NE)for advanced information encryption and anti-counterfeiting applications is demonstrated.This work not only provides a versatile material platform for sensing and information storage,but also offers new insights into the design of intelligent soft materials integrating AIE features with dynamically regulated supramolecular network structures. 展开更多

Effects of Urbanization on Amphibian Predation Networks in Kunming

Urbanization is a significant driver of the loss of biodiversity and the disruption of ecosystems.Amphibians are especially vulnerable to the negative impact of urbanization as their life cycles and habitat requirements are complex.The present study investigated the effects of urbanization on amphibian predation networks in suburban Kunming in Yunnan,China and aimed to understand how predation network structure and stability vary with urbanization level.We constructed predation networks by analyzing the stomach contents of amphibians from 12d istinct urbanization gradients.We used the bipartite package in R to evaluate network robustness metrics such as modularity,nestedness,connectivity,and average shortest path length(ASPL).We found that urbanization level is negatively correlated with predation network connectivity(R=−0.67,Ρ=0.02),but there were no significant correlations between urbanization level and nestedness,modularity,or ASPL.Removal of the keystone species destabilized the predation networks at certain locations.The present work highlighted that maintaining prey quantity and diversity preserves predation network connectivity and stabilizes the overall network in urbanizing landscapes.It also underscored the critical role that keystone species play in sustaining network robustness.The results of this research provided insights into the ecological consequences of urbanization.They also suggested that conservation measures should protect the key species and habitats of amphibian predation networks and mitigate the negative impact of urban development on them. 展开更多

NetVerifier:Scalable Verification for Programmable Networks

In the process of programmable networks simplifying network management and increasing network flexibility through custom packet behavior,security incidents caused by human logic errors are seriously threatening their safe operation,robust verificationmethods are required to ensure their correctness.As one of the formalmethods,symbolic execution offers a viable approach for verifying programmable networks by systematically exploring all possible paths within a program.However,its application in this field encounters scalability issues due to path explosion and complex constraint-solving.Therefore,in this paper,we propose NetVerifier,a scalable verification system for programmable networks.Tomitigate the path explosion issue,we developmultiple pruning strategies that strategically eliminate irrelevant execution paths while preserving verification integrity by precisely identifying the execution paths related to the verification purpose.To address the complex constraint-solving problem,we introduce an execution results reuse solution to avoid redundant computation of the same constraints.To apply these solutions intelligently,a matching algorithm is implemented to automatically select appropriate solutions based on the characteristics of the verification requirement.Moreover,Language Aided Verification(LAV),an assertion language,is designed to express verification intentions in a concise form.Experimental results on diverse open-source programs of varying scales demonstrate NetVerifier’s improvement in scalability and effectiveness in identifying potential network errors.In the best scenario,compared with ASSERT-P4,NetVerifier reduced the execution path,verification time,and memory occupation of the verification process by 99.92%,94.76%,and 65.19%,respectively. 展开更多
