Decomposing co-seismic deformation is an immediate need for researchers who are interested in earthquake inversion analysis and geo-hazard mapping. However, conventional InSAR or digital elevation models (DEMs) imagery analyses only provide the displacement in the Line-of-Sight (LOS) direction or elevation changes. The 2004 Mid-Niigata earthquake in Japan provides lessons on how to decompose co-seismic deformation from two sets of DEMs. If three adjacent points undergo a rigid-body-translation movement, their co-seismic deformation can be decomposed by solving simultaneous equations. Although this method has been successfully used to discuss tectonic deformations, the algorithm needed improvement and a more rigorous algorithm, including a new definition of nominal plane, DEMs comparability improvement and matrix condition check is provided. Even with these procedures, the obtained decomposed displacement often showed remarkable scatter prompting the use of the moving average method, which was used to determine both tectonic and localized displacement characteristics. A cut-off window and a pair of band-pass windows were selected according to the regional geology and construction activities to ease the tectonic and localized displacement calculations, respectively. The displacement field of the tectonic scale shows two major clusters of large lateral components, and coincidently major visible landslides were found mostly within them. The localized displacement helps to reveal hidden landslides in the target area. As far as the Kizawa hamlet is concerned, the obtained vectors show down-slope movements, which are consistent with the observed traces of dislocations that were found in the Kizawa tunnel and irrigation wells. The method proposed has great potential to be applied to understanding post-earthquake rehabilitation in other areas. 展开更多

On the basis of the absolute and relative gravity observations in North China, spatial dynamic variation of regional gravity fields is obtained. A multi-scale decomposition technique is used to separate anomalies at different depths, and give some explanation to gravity variation at different time space scales. Gravity variation trends in North China are improved. Based on this result and the analysis of wavelet power spectrum, the images of the depth of wavelet approximation and detail are obtained. Bouguer gravity anomaly in North China is decomposed with multi scale decomposition technique of wavelet transform. Gravity anomalies produced by anomalous density bodies of various scales are revealed from surface to Moho. Characteristics of anomalies of different orders and corresponding structural features are discussed. The result shows that details of wavelet transform of different orders reflect the distribution features of rock density at different depths and in various scales. In most cases, the two sides of a fault especially a deep and large fault in North China differ greatly in rock density. This difference records the history of the formation and evolution of the crust. Deep structural setting for the \%M\%s≥7.0 strong earthquakes in this region is also discussed. 展开更多

In this paper, we introduce the method of Wavelet Multi-scale Decomposition (WMD) combined with Power Spectrum Analysis (PSA) for the separation of regional gravity and magnetic anomalies. The Songliao Basin is situated between the Siberian Plate and the North China Plate, and its main structural trend of gravity and magnetic anomaly fields is NNE. The study area shows a significant feature of deep collage-type construction. According to the feature of gravity field, the region was divided into five sub-regions. The gravity and magnetic fields of the Songliao Basin were separated using WMD with a 4th order separation. The apparent depth of anomalies in each order was determined by Logarithmic PSA. Then, the shallow high-frequency anomalies were removed and the 2nd-4th order wavelet detail anomalies were used to study the basin's major faults. Twenty-six faults within the basement were recognized. The 4th order wavelet approximate anomalies were used for the inversion of the Moho discontinuity and the Curie isothermal surface. 展开更多

Catalytic decomposition of methane, which produces high-purity hydrogen and high-value-added carbon nanomaterials, has shown considerable potential for development and is expected to yield significant economic benefits in the future. However, designing catalysts that simultaneously exhibit high activity and long-term stability remains a significant challenge.Tuning the catalyst’s structure and electronic properties is an effective strategy for enhancing the reaction performance. In this work,a series of NixZr/ZSM-5 catalysts were prepared using the incipient wetness impregnation method, and the effect of Zr loadings on catalyst properties and performance was systematically investigated. The calcined and reduced catalysts were characterized by low-temperature N_(2)adsorption-desorption,XRD,SEM,H_(2)-TPR and XPS.The results showed that the addition of Zr significantly increased the specific surface area of the catalyst and reduced the metal particle size.Smaller NiO particles were found to enter the pores of the HZSM-5 support, and electronic interactions between NiO and ZrO_(2)markedly enhanced the metal-support interaction. The catalyst exhibited optimal catalytic performance at a Zr loading of 5%,achieving a maximum methane conversion of 68%at 625℃,maintaining activity for 900 min,and delivering a carbon yield of 1927%.Further increasing the Zr loading yielded only limited improvements in catalytic performance.Characterization of the spent catalysts and carbon products via TEM,Raman spectroscopy, and TGA revealed that the introduction of ZrO_(2)reduced metal sintering and promoted a shift in carbon nanofibers growth mode from tip-growth to base-growth.The mechanism of base-growth enabled the catalyst to maintain reaction activity for an extended period. 展开更多

Chemical warfare agents(CWAs)remain a persistent hazard in many parts of the world, necessitating a deeper exploration of their chemical and physical characteristics and reactions under diverse conditions.Diisopropyl methylphosphonate(DIMP),a commonly used CWA surrogate,is widely studied to enhance our understanding of CWA behavior. The prevailing thermal decomposition model for DIMP,developed approximately 25 years ago,is based on data collected in nitrogen atmospheres at temperatures ranging from 700 K to 800 K.Despite its limitations, this model continues to serve as a foundation for research across various thermal and reactive environments, including combustion studies. Our recent experiments have extended the scope of decomposition analysis by examining DIMP in both nitrogen and zero air across a lower temperature range of 175℃ to 250℃.Infrared spectroscopy results under nitrogen align well with the established model;however,we observed that catalytic effects, stemming from decomposition byproducts and interactions with stainless steel surfaces, alter the reaction kinetics. In zero air environments,we observed a novel infrared absorption band.Spectral fitting suggests this band may represent a combination of propanal and acetone, while GCMS analysis points to vinyl formate and acetone as possible constituents.Although the precise identity of these new products remains unresolved, our findings clearly indicate that the existing decomposition model cannot be reliably extended to lower temperatures or non-nitrogen environments without further revisions. 展开更多

Images taken in dim environments frequently exhibit issues like insufficient brightness, noise, color shifts, and loss of detail. These problems pose significant challenges to dark image enhancement tasks.Current approaches, while effective in global illumination modeling, often struggle to simultaneously suppress noise and preserve structural details, especially under heterogeneous lighting.Furthermore, misalignment between luminance and color channels introduces additional challenges to accurate enhancement. In response to the aforementioned difficulties,we introduce a single-stage framework,M2ATNet,using the multi-scale multi-attention and Transformer architecture.First,to address the problems of texture blurring and residual noise,we design a multi-scale multi-attention denoising module(MMAD),which is applied separately to the luminance and color channels to enhance the structural and texture modeling capabilities.Secondly,to solve the non-alignment problem of the luminance and color channels,we introduce the multi-channel feature fusion Transformer(CFFT)module, which effectively recovers the dark details and corrects the color shifts through cross-channel alignment and deep feature interaction. To guide the model to learn more stably and efficiently,we also fuse multiple types of loss functions to form a hybrid loss term.We extensively evaluate the proposed method on various standard datasets, including LOL-v1,LOL-v2,DICM,LIME,and NPE.Evaluation in terms of numerical metrics and visual quality demonstrate that M2ATNet consistently outperforms existing advanced approaches.Ablation studies further confirm the critical roles played by the MMAD and CFFT modules to detail preservation and visual fidelity under challenging illumination-deficient environments. 展开更多

Camouflaged Object Detection(COD)aims to identify objects that share highly similar patterns—such as texture, intensity, and color—with their surrounding environment.Due to their intrinsic resemblance to the background, camouflaged objects often exhibit vague boundaries and varying scales, making it challenging to accurately locate targets and delineate their indistinct edges. To address this,we propose a novel camouflaged object detection network called Edge-Guided and Multi-scale Fusion Network(EGMFNet),which leverages edge-guided multi-scale integration for enhanced performance. The model incorporates two innovative components:a Multi-scale Fusion Module(MSFM)and an Edge-Guided Attention Module(EGA).These designs exploit multi-scale features to uncover subtle cues between candidate objects and the background while emphasizing camouflaged object boundaries. Moreover, recognizing the rich contextual information in fused features,we introduce a Dual-Branch Global Context Module(DGCM)to refine features using extensive global context, thereby generatingmore informative representations.Experimental results on four benchmark datasets demonstrate that EGMFNet outperforms state-of-the-art methods across five evaluation metrics.Specifically,on COD10K,our EGMFNet-P improves F_(β)by 4.8 points and reduces mean absolute error(MAE)by 0.006 compared with ZoomNeXt;on NC4K,it achieves a 3.6-point increase in F_(β).OnCAMO and CHAMELEON,it obtains 4.5-point increases in F_(β),respectively.These consistent gains substantiate the superiority and robustness of EGMFNet. 展开更多

Accurate and efficient detection of building changes in remote sensing imagery is crucial for urban planning, disaster emergency response, and resource management. However, existing methods face challenges such as spectral similarity between buildings and backgrounds, sensor variations, and insufficient computational efficiency. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel Multi-scale Efficient Wavelet-based Change Detection Network(MewCDNet),which integrates the advantages of Convolutional Neural Networks and Transformers, balances computational costs, and achieves high-performance building change detection. The network employs EfficientNet-B4 as the backbone for hierarchical feature extraction, integrates multi-level feature maps through a multi-scale fusion strategy, and incorporates two key modules:Cross-temporal Difference Detection(CTDD)and Cross-scale Wavelet Refinement(CSWR).CTDD adopts a dual-branch architecture that combines pixel-wise differencing with semanticaware Euclidean distance weighting to enhance the distinction between true changes and background noise.CSWR integrates Haar-based Discrete Wavelet Transform with multi-head cross-attention mechanisms, enabling cross-scale feature fusion while significantly improving edge localization and suppressing spurious changes.Extensive experiments on four benchmark datasets demonstrate MewCDNet’s superiority over comparison methods:achieving F1 scores of 91.54%on LEVIR,93.70%on WHUCD,and 64.96%on S2Looking for building change detection.Furthermore,MewCDNet exhibits optimal performance on the multi-class⋅SYSU dataset(F1:82.71%),highlighting its exceptional generalization capability. 展开更多

Tomato is a major economic crop worldwide, and diseases on tomato leaves can significantly reduce both yield and quality.Traditional manual inspection is inefficient and highly subjective, making it difficult to meet the requirements of early disease identification in complex natural environments. To address this issue, this study proposes an improved YOLO11-based model,YOLO-SPDNet(Scale Sequence Fusion,Position-Channel Attention, and Dual Enhancement Network). The model integrates the SEAM(Self-Ensembling Attention Mechanism)semantic enhancement module, the MLCA(Mixed Local Channel Attention)lightweight attention mechanism, and the SPA(Scale-Position-Detail Awareness)module composed of SSFF(Scale Sequence Feature Fusion),TFE(Triple Feature Encoding),and CPAM(Channel and Position Attention Mechanism). These enhancements strengthen fine-grained lesion detection while maintaining model lightweightness.Experimental results show that YOLO-SPDNet achieves an accuracy of 91.8%,a recall of 86.5%,and an mAP@0.5 of 90.6%on the test set, with a computational complexity of 12.5 GFLOPs.Furthermore, the model reaches a real-time inference speed of 987 FPS,making it suitable for deployment on mobile agricultural terminals and online monitoring systems.Comparative analysis and ablation studies further validate the reliability and practical applicability of the proposed model in complex natural scenes. 展开更多

The sulfation and decomposition process has proven effective in selectively extracting lithium from lepidolite. It is essential to clarify the thermochemical behavior and kinetic parameters of decomposition reactions.Accordingly, comprehensive kinetic study by employing thermalgravimetric analysis at various heating rates was presented in this paper. Two main weight loss regions were observed during heating. The initial region corresponded to the dehydration of crystal water, whereas the subsequent region with overlapping peaks involved complex decomposition reactions. The overlapping peaks were separated into two individual reaction peaks and the activation energy of each peak was calculated using isoconversional kinetics methods. The activation energy of peak 1 exhibited a continual increase as the reaction conversion progressed, while that of peak 2 steadily decreased. The optimal kinetic models, identified as belonging to the random nucleation and subsequent growth category, provided valuable insights into the mechanism of the decomposition reactions.Furthermore, the adjustment factor was introduced to reconstruct the kinetic mechanism models, and the reconstructed models described the kinetic mechanism model more accurately for the decomposition reactions. This study enhanced the understanding of the thermochemical behavior and kinetic parameters of the lepidolite sulfation product decomposition reactions, further providing theoretical basis for promoting the selective extraction of lithium. 展开更多

Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS)attacks are one of the severe threats to network infrastructure, sometimes bypassing traditional diagnosis algorithms because of their evolving complexity.PresentMachine Learning(ML)techniques for DDoS attack diagnosis normally apply network traffic statistical features such as packet sizes and inter-arrival times. However, such techniques sometimes fail to capture complicated relations among various traffic flows. In this paper,we present a new multi-scale ensemble strategy given the Graph Neural Networks(GNNs)for improving DDoS detection. Our technique divides traffic into macro-and micro-level elements, letting various GNN models to get the two corase-scale anomalies and subtle, stealthy attack models.Through modeling network traffic as graph-structured data,GNNs efficiently learn intricate relations among network entities. The proposed ensemble learning algorithm combines the results of several GNNs to improve generalization, robustness, and scalability.Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets—UNSW-NB15,CICIDS2017,and CICDDoS2019—show that our approach outperforms traditional machine learning and deep learning models in detecting both high-rate and low-rate(stealthy)DDoS attacks, with significant improvements in accuracy and recall. These findings demonstrate the suggested method’s applicability and robustness for real-world implementation in contexts where several DDoS patterns coexist. 展开更多

The development of metallic mineral resources generates a significant amount of solid waste, such as tailings and waste rock.Cemented tailings and waste-rock backfill(CTWB)is an effective method for managing and disposing of this mining waste. This study employs a macro-meso-micro testing method to investigate the effects of the waste rock grading index(WGI)and loading rate(LR)on the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS),pore structure, and micromorphology of CTWB materials.Pore structures were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and mercury intrusion porosimetry(MIP).The particles(pores)and cracks analysis system(PCAS)software was used to quantitatively characterize the multi-scale micropores in the SEM images. The key findings indicate that the macroscopic results(UCS)of CTWB materials correspond to the microscopic results(pore structure and micromorphology).Changes in porosity largely depend on the conditions of waste rock grading index and loading rate. The inclusion of waste rock initially increases and then decreases the UCS,while porosity first decreases and then increases, with a critical waste rock grading index of 0.6.As the loading rate increases,UCS initially rises and then falls, while porosity gradually increases.Based on MIP and SEM results,at waste rock grading index 0.6,the most probable pore diameters, total pore area(TPA),pore number(PN),maximum pore area(MPA),and area probability distribution index(APDI)are minimized, while average pore form factor(APF)and fractal dimension of pore porosity distribution(FDPD)are maximized, indicating the most compact pore structure. At a loading rate of 12.0 mm/min,the most probable pore diameters,TPA,PN,MPA,APF,and APDI reach their maximum values, while FDPD reaches its minimum value. Finally, the mechanism of CTWB materials during compression is analyzed, based on the quantitative results of UCS and porosity. The research findings play a crucial role in ensuring the successful application of CTWB materials in deep metal mines. 展开更多

In the image fusion field, fusing infrared images(IRIs)and visible images(VIs)excelled is a key area. The differences between IRIs and VIs make it challenging to fuse both types into a high-quality image.Accordingly, efficiently combining the advantages of both images while overcoming their shortcomings is necessary. To handle this challenge,we developed an end-to-end IRI andVI fusionmethod based on frequency decomposition and enhancement.By applying concepts from frequency domain analysis,we used the layering mechanism to better capture the salient thermal targets from the IRIs and the rich textural information from the VIs,respectively, significantly boosting the image fusion quality and effectiveness. In addition, the backbone network combined Restormer Blocks and Dense Blocks;Restormer blocks utilize global attention to extract shallow features.Meanwhile,Dense Blocks ensure the integration between shallow and deep features, thereby avoiding the loss of shallow attributes.Extensive experiments on TNO and MSRS datasets demonstrated that the suggested method achieved state-of-the-art(SOTA)performance in various metrics:Entropy(EN),Mutual Information(MI),Standard Deviation(SD),The Structural Similarity Index Measure(SSIM),Fusion quality(Qabf),MI of the pixel(FMI_(pixel)),and modified Visual Information Fidelity(VIF_(m)). 展开更多

Upper Andean tropical forests are renowned for their extraordinary biodiversity and heterogeneous environmental conditions.Despite the critical role of litter decomposition in carbon and nutrient cycles, its dynamics in this region remains unexplored at finer scales. This study investigates how micro site conditions influence litter decomposition of 15 upper Andean species over time.A reciprocal translocation field experiment was conducted over 18 months in 14 permanent plots within four sites in Colombian Andean mountain forests. Each plot contained three litterbeds(microsites),each with the 15 species, harvested at 3,6,12 and 18 months, totaling 2520 litterbags.Different forest variables, including canopy openness, leaf area index, slope and depth of litter, were measured in each litterbed.ANOVAs and linear mixed models were used to assess variation between sites and plots respectively, while multiple linear regression analyses evaluated the effects of forest variables on decay rates over time at the micro site scale. Results showed differences in absolute decay rates between sites but consistent relative decay rates, indicating varying magnitudes of decomposition, yet maintaining the same order based on their litter quality.Decay rates varied between species, with more variation in labile species compared to recalcitrant ones.Despite substantial variation in forest characteristics within sites, their influence on litter decomposition was minimal and declined over time. This suggests that,at finer spatial scales, the forest microenvironment plays a lesser role in litter decomposition, with litter quality emerging as the primary driver. This study is a step towards understanding the fine-scale dynamics of litter decomposition in upper Andean tropical forests, highlighting the intricate interplay between microenvironmental factors and decomposition processes. 展开更多

Impact craters are important for understanding the evolution of lunar geologic and surface erosion rates, among other functions. However, the morphological characteristics of these micro impact craters are not obvious and they are numerous, resulting in low detection accuracy by deep learning models. Therefore,we proposed a new multi-scale fusion crater detection algorithm(MSF-CDA)based on the YOLO11 to improve the accuracy of lunar impact crater detection, especially for small craters with a diameter of<1 km.Using the images taken by the LROC(Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter Camera)at the Chang’e-4(CE-4)landing area,we constructed three separate datasets for craters with diameters of 0-70 m,70-140 m,and>140 m.We then trained three submodels separately with these three datasets.Additionally,we designed a slicing-amplifying-slicing strategy to enhance the ability to extract features from small craters. To handle redundant predictions,we proposed a new Non-Maximum Suppression with Area Filtering method to fuse the results in overlapping targets within the multi-scale submodels. Finally, our new MSF-CDA method achieved high detection performance, with the Precision,Recall, and F1 score having values of 0.991,0.987,and 0.989,respectively,perfectly addressing the problems induced by the lesser features and sample imbalance of small craters. Our MSF-CDA can provide strong data support for more in-depth study of the geological evolution of the lunar surface and finer geological age estimations. This strategy can also be used to detect other small objects with lesser features and sample imbalance problems. We detected approximately 500,000 impact craters in an area of approximately 214 km2 around the CE-4 landing area.By statistically analyzing the new data,we updated the distribution function of the number and diameter of impact craters. Finally,we identified the most suitable lighting conditions for detecting impact crater targets by analyzing the effect of different lighting conditions on the detection accuracy. 展开更多

Litter decomposition is an essential ecosystem process influenced by multiple factors, including substrate quality, climate, edaphic environment, and decomposer communities. However, the role of canopy species identity and diversity on leaf litter decomposition in forests remains understudied.By controlling for macroclimate, soil properties, and litter substrate in a mature common garden,we investigated whether a three-month tea bag incubation of standardized green and rooibos tea substrate is driven by canopy tree species characteristics and diversity. Our study hypothesized two primary pathways:a chemical engineering effect, where trees alter soil properties and decomposer communities through litter input, and a physical engineering effect, where tree canopy structure modulates the local microclimate. The results showed that even under uniform macroclimatic and initial soil conditions, mass loss rates varied widely for green tea(27.4%–73.2%)and rooibos tea(6.1%–34.7%),comparable as found in other research between distinct biomes. While substrate quality was the dominant factor, both engineering pathways and,to a minor extent, tree diversity modulated mass losses. For green tea, tree chemical and physical characteristics seemed equally important, while the physical environment showed an increased importance for rooibos.Incubation depth played a key role, where forest floor decomposition rates are more susceptible to temporal climate variations, and soil-layer decomposition rates are less susceptible to climate variations and more determined by tree species identity. Our findings suggest that tea bag experiments focusing solely on topsoil burial may underestimate processes in the forest floor and the mineralorganic boundary layer. This study underscores the critical role of litter substrate quality in decomposition while demonstrating that tree community composition and the associated herbaceous layer, through both chemical and physical engineering pathways, strongly modulate decomposition rates. 展开更多
