In this study,an end-to-end deep learning method is proposed to improve the accuracy of continuum estimation in low-resolution gamma-ray spectra.A novel process for generating the theoretical continuum of a simulated ...In this study,an end-to-end deep learning method is proposed to improve the accuracy of continuum estimation in low-resolution gamma-ray spectra.A novel process for generating the theoretical continuum of a simulated spectrum is established,and a convolutional neural network consisting of 51 layers and more than 105 parameters is constructed to directly predict the entire continuum from the extracted global spectrum features.For testing,an in-house NaI-type whole-body counter is used,and 106 training spectrum samples(20%of which are reserved for testing)are generated using Monte Carlo simulations.In addition,the existing fitting,step-type,and peak erosion methods are selected for comparison.The proposed method exhibits excellent performance,as evidenced by its activity error distribution and the smallest mean activity error of 1.5%among the evaluated methods.Additionally,a validation experiment is performed using a whole-body counter to analyze a human physical phantom containing four radionuclides.The largest activity error of the proposed method is−5.1%,which is considerably smaller than those of the comparative methods,confirming the test results.The multiscale feature extraction and nonlinear relation modeling in the proposed method establish a novel approach for accurate and convenient continuum estimation in a low-resolution gamma-ray spectrum.Thus,the proposed method is promising for accurate quantitative radioactivity analysis in practical applications.展开更多

Angle-of-arrival spectrum information is simulated by the ray optics model and refractivity is expressed in the presence of an ideal tri-linear profile. The estimation of the refractivity is organized as an optimization problem and a genetic Mgorithm is used to search for the optimal solution from various trial refractivity profiles. Theoretical analysis demonstrates the feasibility of this method to retrieve the refractivity parameters. Simulation results indicate that this approach has a fair anti-noise ability and its accuracy performance is mainly dependent on the antenna aperture size and its positions.展开更多

Intelligent reflecting surface(IRS),with its unique capability of smartly reconfiguring wireless channels,provides a new solution to improving spectrum efficiency,reducing energy consumption and saving deployment/hard...Intelligent reflecting surface(IRS),with its unique capability of smartly reconfiguring wireless channels,provides a new solution to improving spectrum efficiency,reducing energy consumption and saving deployment/hardware cost for future wireless networks.In this paper,IRS-enabled spectrum sharing is investigated,from the perspectives of interference modeling,efficient channel estimation and robust passive beamforming design.Specifically,we first characterize the interference in a spectrum sharing system consisting of a single primary user(PU)pair and a single secondary user(SU)pair,and extend it to the large-scale network by leveraging the Poisson point process(PPP).Then,we propose an efficient channel estimation framework based on decoupling the cascaded IRS channels.Moreover,the tradeoff between spectrum efficiency and energy efficiency is derived from the view of channel estimation accuracy.Finally,we discuss the robust passive beamforming design in presence of imperfect channel estimation and nonideal/discrete phase shifts.It is hoped that this paper provides useful guidance for unlocking the full potential of IRS for achieving efficient spectrum sharing for future wireless networks.展开更多

This paper proposed an effective approach to statistically group actual measured dynamic stress data and validly extrapolate the combined distribution to fit the dynamic stress spectrum distribution. Dispersion and attenuation analysis can be used to determine formation anisotropy induced by fractures,or stresses.In this paper,we propose a nonparametric spectrum estimation method to get phase dispersion characteri...Dispersion and attenuation analysis can be used to determine formation anisotropy induced by fractures,or stresses.In this paper,we propose a nonparametric spectrum estimation method to get phase dispersion characteristics and attenuation coefficient.By designing an appropriate vector filter,phase velocity,attenuation coefficient and amplitude can be inverted from the waveform recorded by the receiver array.Performance analysis of this algorithm is compared with Extended Prony Method(EPM)and Forward and Backward Matrix Pencil(FBMP)method.Based on the analysis results,the proposed method is capable of achieving high resolution and precision as the parametric spectrum estimation methods.At the meantime,it also keeps high stability as the other nonparametric spectrum estimation methods.At last,applications to synthetic waveforms modeled using finite difference method and real data show its efficiency.The real data processing results show that the P-wave attenuation log is more sensitive to oil formation compared to S-wave;and the S-wave attenuation log is more sensitive to shale formation compared to P-wave.展开更多

The estimation of missing data is essential for maintaining an uninterrupted quality of service in the CR. However, the existing methods are not suitable for interpolating missing data in high frequency signals. The storage of spectrum occupancy information is crucial for learning the spectrum usage and prediction. The existing techniques for wideband spectrum sensing suffer from poor edge detection capabilities. This paper proposes an STransformation (ST) based approach to solve these problems. For missing samples, the proposed method improves the accuracy of estimation. The ST can also be used to store the spectrum occupancy information. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms others by improving the accuracy of edge detection. Further, the simple implementation of the ST in the frequency domain is an advantage for the real time application.展开更多
Aging is an inevitable process that is usually measured by chronological age,with people aged 65 and over being defined as"older individuals".There is disagreement in the current scientific literature regard...Aging is an inevitable process that is usually measured by chronological age,with people aged 65 and over being defined as"older individuals".There is disagreement in the current scientific literature regarding the best methods to estimate glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)in older adults.Several studies suggest the use of an age-adjusted definition to improve accuracy and avoid overdiagnosis.In contrast,some researchers argue that such changes could complicate the classification of chronic kidney disease(CKD).Several formulas,including the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease,CKD-Epidemiology Collaboration,and Cockcroft-Gault equations,are used to estimate eGFR.However,each of these formulas has significant limitations when applied to older adults,primarily due to sarcopenia and malnutrition,which greatly affect both muscle mass and creatinine levels.Alternative formulas,such as the Berlin Initiative Study and the Full Age Spectrum equations,provide more accurate estimates of values for older adults by accounting for age-related physiological changes.In frail older adults,the use of cystatin C leads to better eGFR calculations to assess renal function.Accurate eGFR measurements improve the health of older patients by enabling better medication dosing.A thorough approach that includes multiple calibrated diagnostic methods and a detailed geriatric assessment is necessary for the effective management of kidney disease and other age-related conditions in older adults.展开更多

Padmini, et al.(1994) had suggested that the frequency-direction ambiguity in azimuth estimation of wide-baud signals received by a uniform linear array (ULA) can be avoided by using a circular array, even without the use of any delay elements. In 2-D spatial-spectrum estimation for wide-band signals, the authors find that it is impossible to avoid the ambiguity in source frequency-elevation angle pairs using a circular array. In this paper, interpolated circular arrays are used to perform 2-D spatial-spectrum estimation for wide-band sources. This paper presents an approach of singular value de- composition plus digital phase lock loop to solve the difficult problem of blind pseudo-noise (PN) sequence estimation in low signal to noise ratios (SNR) dire...This paper presents an approach of singular value de- composition plus digital phase lock loop to solve the difficult problem of blind pseudo-noise (PN) sequence estimation in low signal to noise ratios (SNR) direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) signals with residual carrier. This approach needs some given parameters, such as the period and code rate of PN sequence. The received signal is firstly sampled and divided into non-overlapping signal vectors according to a temporal window, whose duration is two periods of PN sequence. An autocorrelation matrix is then computed and accumulated by those signal vectors one by one. The PN sequence with residual carrier can be estimated by the principal eigenvector of the autocorrelation matrix. Further more, a digital phase lock loop is used to process the estimated PN sequence, it estimates and tracks the residual carrier and removes the residual carrier in the end. Theory analysis and computer simulation results show that this approach can effectively realize the PN sequence blind estimation from the input DS-SS signals with residual carrier in lower SNR.展开更多

By simplifying the objective function of maximum likelihood estimation, the algorithm can realize sequence synchronization and sequence estimation via adaptive iteration and sliding window. Since it avoids the correlation matrix computation, the algorithm significantly reduces the storage requirement and the computation complexity. Simulations show that it is a fast convergent algorithm, and can perform well in low signal to noise ratio (SNR).展开更多
The quality factor(or Q value)is an important parameter for characterizing the inelastic properties of rock.Achieving a Q value estimation with high accuracy and stability is still challenging.In this study,a new meth...The quality factor(or Q value)is an important parameter for characterizing the inelastic properties of rock.Achieving a Q value estimation with high accuracy and stability is still challenging.In this study,a new method for estimating ultrasonic attenuation using a spectral ratio based on an S transform(SR-ST)is presented to improve the stability and accuracy of Q estimation.The variable window of ST is used to solve the time window problem.We add two window factors to the Gaussian window function in the ST.The window factors can adjust the scale of the Gaussian window function to the ultrasonic signal,which reduces the calculation error attributed to the conventional Gaussian window function.Meanwhile,the frequency bandwidth selection rules for the linear regression of the amplitude ratio are given to further improve stability and accuracy.First,the feasibility and influencing factors of the SR-ST method are studied through numerical testing and standard sample experiments.Second,artificial samples with different Q values are used to study the adaptability and stability of the SR-ST method.Finally,a further comparison between the new method and the conventional spectral ratio method(SR)is conducted using rock field samples,again addressing stability and accuracy.The experimental results show that this method will yield an error of approximately 36%using the conventional Gaussian window function.This problem can be solved by adding the time window factors to the Gaussian window function.The frequency bandwidth selection rules and mean slope value of the amplitude ratio used in the SR-ST method can ensure that the maximum error of different Q values estimation(Q>15)is less than 10%.展开更多
As to the sonic fatigue problem of an aero-engine combustor liner structure under the random acoustic loadings,an effective method for predicting the fatigue life of a structure under random loadings was studied.First...As to the sonic fatigue problem of an aero-engine combustor liner structure under the random acoustic loadings,an effective method for predicting the fatigue life of a structure under random loadings was studied.Firstly,the probability distribution of Von Mises stress of thin-walled structure under random loadings was studied,analysis suggested that probability density function of Von Mises stress process accord approximately with two-parameter Weibull distribution.The formula for calculating Weibull parameters were given.Based on the Miner linear theory,the method for predicting the random sonic fatigue life based on the stress probability density was developed,and the model for fatigue life prediction was constructed.As an example,an aero-engine combustor liner structure was considered.The power spectrum density(PSD) of the vibrational stress response was calculated by using the coupled FEM/BEM(finite element method/boundary element method) model,the fatigue life was estimated by using the constructed model.And considering the influence of the wide frequency band,the calculated results were modified.Comparetive analysis shows that the estimated results of sonic fatigue of the combustor liner structure by using Weibull distribution of Von Mises stress are more conservative than using Dirlik distribution to some extend.The results show that the methods presented in this paper are practical for the random fatigue life analysis of the aeronautical thin-walled structures.展开更多

文摘Spectrum sensing is one of the key technologies in Cognitive Radios(CRs).Previous works are accomplished under simple channel models,which may lead to unreliable results when it applied to the over-the-air systems.In this paper,we investigate the performance of a Multi-Resolution Spectrum Sensing(MRSS) algorithm under measurement-based channel models in China.MRSS is a wavelet based algorithm which is suitable for non-stationary,wideband signal analysis.Using statistical mod-eling,measurement-based channel models are presented under typical urban and suburban scenarios in Shanghai,China.Then,the performance of the MRSS algorithm is evaluated under the measure-ment-based channel models.Simulation results show that,using MRSS,the performance is always better in the scenarios where Line-Of-Sight(LOS) path exist;also,in LOS scenarios,rich scattering effect helps to increase the performance.

文摘Dispersion and attenuation analysis can be used to determine formation anisotropy induced by fractures,or stresses.In this paper,we propose a nonparametric spectrum estimation method to get phase dispersion characteristics and attenuation coefficient.By designing an appropriate vector filter,phase velocity,attenuation coefficient and amplitude can be inverted from the waveform recorded by the receiver array.Performance analysis of this algorithm is compared with Extended Prony Method(EPM)and Forward and Backward Matrix Pencil(FBMP)method.Based on the analysis results,the proposed method is capable of achieving high resolution and precision as the parametric spectrum estimation methods.At the meantime,it also keeps high stability as the other nonparametric spectrum estimation methods.At last,applications to synthetic waveforms modeled using finite difference method and real data show its efficiency.The real data processing results show that the P-wave attenuation log is more sensitive to oil formation compared to S-wave;and the S-wave attenuation log is more sensitive to shale formation compared to P-wave.
文摘Cognitive Radio (CR) uses the principle of dynamic spectrum allocation to improve the utilization of spectrum bands. The estimation of missing data is essential for maintaining an uninterrupted quality of service in the CR. However, the existing methods are not suitable for interpolating missing data in high frequency signals. The storage of spectrum occupancy information is crucial for learning the spectrum usage and prediction. The existing techniques for wideband spectrum sensing suffer from poor edge detection capabilities. This paper proposes an STransformation (ST) based approach to solve these problems. For missing samples, the proposed method improves the accuracy of estimation. The ST can also be used to store the spectrum occupancy information. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms others by improving the accuracy of edge detection. Further, the simple implementation of the ST in the frequency domain is an advantage for the real time application.
文摘Aging is an inevitable process that is usually measured by chronological age,with people aged 65 and over being defined as"older individuals".There is disagreement in the current scientific literature regarding the best methods to estimate glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)in older adults.Several studies suggest the use of an age-adjusted definition to improve accuracy and avoid overdiagnosis.In contrast,some researchers argue that such changes could complicate the classification of chronic kidney disease(CKD).Several formulas,including the Modification of Diet in Renal Disease,CKD-Epidemiology Collaboration,and Cockcroft-Gault equations,are used to estimate eGFR.However,each of these formulas has significant limitations when applied to older adults,primarily due to sarcopenia and malnutrition,which greatly affect both muscle mass and creatinine levels.Alternative formulas,such as the Berlin Initiative Study and the Full Age Spectrum equations,provide more accurate estimates of values for older adults by accounting for age-related physiological changes.In frail older adults,the use of cystatin C leads to better eGFR calculations to assess renal function.Accurate eGFR measurements improve the health of older patients by enabling better medication dosing.A thorough approach that includes multiple calibrated diagnostic methods and a detailed geriatric assessment is necessary for the effective management of kidney disease and other age-related conditions in older adults.
文摘In array signal processing, 2-D spatial-spectrum estimation is required to determine DOA of multiple signals. The circular array of sensors is found to possess several nice properties for DOA estimation of wide-band sources. C. U. Padmini, et al.(1994) had suggested that the frequency-direction ambiguity in azimuth estimation of wide-baud signals received by a uniform linear array (ULA) can be avoided by using a circular array, even without the use of any delay elements. In 2-D spatial-spectrum estimation for wide-band signals, the authors find that it is impossible to avoid the ambiguity in source frequency-elevation angle pairs using a circular array. In this paper, interpolated circular arrays are used to perform 2-D spatial-spectrum estimation for wide-band sources. In the estimation, a large aperture circular array (Υ】λmin/2) is found to possess superior resolution capability and robustness.
文摘Based on the deduction of the C parameter estimation, a new method to estimate C Parameters from the AR parameters of the ARMA model and auto-related function is proposed , The method reduces the computation complexity of the conventional interative algorithm in MA parameter estimation, thus make the algorithm of ARMA model spectral estimation simpler. On account of this method, a new algo- rithm of cepstrum analysis is put forward . Computer simulation indicates that the proposed cepstrum al- gorithm has the merits of few sidelobes and high resolution . And the algorithm is very useful to the ding- nosis of machinery failure .

文摘This paper presents an approach of singular value de- composition plus digital phase lock loop to solve the difficult problem of blind pseudo-noise (PN) sequence estimation in low signal to noise ratios (SNR) direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) signals with residual carrier. This approach needs some given parameters, such as the period and code rate of PN sequence. The received signal is firstly sampled and divided into non-overlapping signal vectors according to a temporal window, whose duration is two periods of PN sequence. An autocorrelation matrix is then computed and accumulated by those signal vectors one by one. The PN sequence with residual carrier can be estimated by the principal eigenvector of the autocorrelation matrix. Further more, a digital phase lock loop is used to process the estimated PN sequence, it estimates and tracks the residual carrier and removes the residual carrier in the end. Theory analysis and computer simulation results show that this approach can effectively realize the PN sequence blind estimation from the input DS-SS signals with residual carrier in lower SNR.

文摘To estimate the spreading sequence of the direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signal, a fast algorithm based on maximum likelihood function is proposed, and the theoretical derivation of the algorithm is provided. By simplifying the objective function of maximum likelihood estimation, the algorithm can realize sequence synchronization and sequence estimation via adaptive iteration and sliding window. Since it avoids the correlation matrix computation, the algorithm significantly reduces the storage requirement and the computation complexity. Simulations show that it is a fast convergent algorithm, and can perform well in low signal to noise ratio (SNR).

文摘The quality factor(or Q value)is an important parameter for characterizing the inelastic properties of rock.Achieving a Q value estimation with high accuracy and stability is still challenging.In this study,a new method for estimating ultrasonic attenuation using a spectral ratio based on an S transform(SR-ST)is presented to improve the stability and accuracy of Q estimation.The variable window of ST is used to solve the time window problem.We add two window factors to the Gaussian window function in the ST.The window factors can adjust the scale of the Gaussian window function to the ultrasonic signal,which reduces the calculation error attributed to the conventional Gaussian window function.Meanwhile,the frequency bandwidth selection rules for the linear regression of the amplitude ratio are given to further improve stability and accuracy.First,the feasibility and influencing factors of the SR-ST method are studied through numerical testing and standard sample experiments.Second,artificial samples with different Q values are used to study the adaptability and stability of the SR-ST method.Finally,a further comparison between the new method and the conventional spectral ratio method(SR)is conducted using rock field samples,again addressing stability and accuracy.The experimental results show that this method will yield an error of approximately 36%using the conventional Gaussian window function.This problem can be solved by adding the time window factors to the Gaussian window function.The frequency bandwidth selection rules and mean slope value of the amplitude ratio used in the SR-ST method can ensure that the maximum error of different Q values estimation(Q>15)is less than 10%.

文摘As to the sonic fatigue problem of an aero-engine combustor liner structure under the random acoustic loadings,an effective method for predicting the fatigue life of a structure under random loadings was studied.Firstly,the probability distribution of Von Mises stress of thin-walled structure under random loadings was studied,analysis suggested that probability density function of Von Mises stress process accord approximately with two-parameter Weibull distribution.The formula for calculating Weibull parameters were given.Based on the Miner linear theory,the method for predicting the random sonic fatigue life based on the stress probability density was developed,and the model for fatigue life prediction was constructed.As an example,an aero-engine combustor liner structure was considered.The power spectrum density(PSD) of the vibrational stress response was calculated by using the coupled FEM/BEM(finite element method/boundary element method) model,the fatigue life was estimated by using the constructed model.And considering the influence of the wide frequency band,the calculated results were modified.Comparetive analysis shows that the estimated results of sonic fatigue of the combustor liner structure by using Weibull distribution of Von Mises stress are more conservative than using Dirlik distribution to some extend.The results show that the methods presented in this paper are practical for the random fatigue life analysis of the aeronautical thin-walled structures.
