Community detection is one of the most fundamental applications in understanding the structure of complicated networks.Furthermore,it is an important approach to identifying closely linked clusters of nodes that may represent underlying patterns and relationships.Networking structures are highly sensitive in social networks, requiring advanced techniques to accurately identify the structure of these communities. Most conventional algorithms for detecting communities perform inadequately with complicated networks. In addition, they miss out on accurately identifying clusters.Since single-objective optimization cannot always generate accurate and comprehensive results,as multi-objective optimization can. Therefore,we utilized two objective functions that enable strong connections between communities and weak connections between them.In this study,we utilized the intra function, which has proven effective in state-of-the-art research studies. We proposed a new inter-function that has demonstrated its effectiveness by making the objective of detecting external connections between communities is to make them more distinct and sparse.Furthermore,we proposed a Multi-Objective community strength enhancement algorithm(MOCSE).The proposed algorithm is based on the framework of the Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm with Decomposition(MOEA/D),integrated with a new heuristic mutation strategy, community strength enhancement(CSE).The results demonstrate that the model is effective in accurately identifying community structures while also being computationally efficient. The performance measures used to evaluate the MOEA/D algorithm in our work are normalized mutual information(NMI)and modularity(Q).It was tested using five state-of-the-art algorithms on social networks, comprising real datasets(Zachary,Dolphin,Football,Krebs,SFI,Jazz, and Netscience),as well as twenty synthetic datasets. These results provide the robustness and practical value of the proposed algorithm in multi-objective community identification. 展开更多

Cobalt phosphide has been successfully used as a catalyst in the production of ammonia from nitric acid.Substituting appropriate atoms is expected to further improve its catalytic performance.Owing to the diversity of substituting elements, substitution sites, adsorption sites, and adsorption configurations, extensive time-consuming simulation calculations are required for the high-throughput screening method.Additionally,multi-objective attributes should be considered simultaneously in catalytic design. To tackle this challenge, this paper suggests a multi-objective cobalt phosphide catalytic material design method based on surrogate models. And the effectiveness of the proposed method was validated through comparative experiments. The proposed method led to the discovery of fifteen promising cobalt phosphide catalyst configurations. This study provides a new avenue for expediting the design of catalyst, with the potential for application in other systems. 展开更多

This study proposes a multi-objective optimization framework for electric winches in fiber-reinforced plastic(FRP)fishing vessels to address critical limitations of conventional designs, including excessive weight, material inefficiency, and performance redundancy.By integrating surrogate modeling techniques with a multi-objective genetic algorithm(MOGA),we have developed a systematic approach that encompasses parametric modeling, finite element analysis under extreme operational conditions, and multi-fidelity performance evaluation.Through a 10-t electric winch case study, the methodology’s effectiveness is demonstrated via parametric characterization of structural integrity, stiffness behavior, and mass distribution. The comparative analysis identified optimal surrogate models for predicting key performance metrics, which enabled the construction of a robust multi-objective optimization model. The MOGA-derived Pareto solutions produced a design configuration achieving 7.86%mass reduction,2.01%safety factor improvement, and 23.97%deformation mitigation.Verification analysis confirmed the optimization scheme’s reliability in balancing conflicting design requirements. This research establishes a generalized framework for marine deck machinery modernization, particularly addressing the structural compatibility challenges in FRP vessel retrofitting. The proposed methodology demonstrates significant potential for facilitating sustainable upgrades of fishing vessel equipment through systematic performance optimization. 展开更多

This paper investigates a distributed heterogeneous hybrid blocking flow-shop scheduling problem(DHHBFSP)designed to minimize the total tardiness and total energy consumption simultaneously, and proposes an improved proximal policy optimization(IPPO)method to make real-time decisions for the DHHBFSP.A multi-objective Markov decision process is modeled for the DHHBFSP,where the reward function is represented by a vector with dynamic weights instead of the common objectiverelated scalar value.A factory agent(FA)is formulated for each factory to select unscheduled jobs and is trained by the proposed IPPO to improve the decision quality.Multiple FAs work asynchronously to allocate jobs that arrive randomly at the shop.A two-stage training strategy is introduced in the IPPO,which learns from both single-and dual-policy data for better data utilization. The proposed IPPO is tested on randomly generated instances and compared with variants of the basic proximal policy optimization(PPO),dispatch rules,multi-objective metaheuristics, and multi-agent reinforcement learning methods.Extensive experimental results suggest that the proposed strategies offer significant improvements to the basic PPO,and the proposed IPPO outperforms the state-of-the-art scheduling methods in both convergence and solution quality. 展开更多

The rapid and increasing growth in the volume and number of cyber threats from malware is not a real danger;the real threat lies in the obfuscation of these cyberattacks,as they constantly change their behavior, making detection more difficult.Numerous researchers and developers have devoted considerable attention to this topic;however, the research field has not yet been fully saturated with high-quality studies that address these problems. For this reason, this paper presents a novel multi-objective Markov-enhanced adaptive whale optimization(MOMEAWO)cybersecurity model to improve the classification of binary and multi-class malware threats through the proposed MOMEAWO approach. The proposed MOMEAWO cybersecurity model aims to provide an innovative solution for analyzing, detecting, and classifying the behavior of obfuscated malware within their respective families. The proposed model includes three classification types:Binary classification and multi-class classification(e.g.,four families and 16 malware families). To evaluate the performance of this model,we used a recently published dataset called the Canadian Institute for Cybersecurity Malware Memory Analysis(CIC-MalMem-2022)that contains balanced data. The results show near-perfect accuracy in binary classification and high accuracy in multi-class classification compared with related work using the same dataset. 展开更多

The vehicle routing and scheduling (VRS) problem with multi-objective and multi-constraint is analyzed, considering the complexity of the modern logistics in city economy and daily life based on the system engineering. The objective and constraint includes loading, the dispatch and arrival time, transportation conditions, total cost, etc. An information model and a mathematical model are built, and a method based on knowledge and biologic immunity is put forward for optimizing and evaluating the programs dimensions in vehicle routing and scheduling with multi-objective and multi-constraints. The proposed model and method are illustrated in a case study concerning a transport network, and the result shows that more optimization solutions can be easily obtained and the method is efficient and feasible. Comparing with the standard GA and the standard GA without time constraint, the computational time of the algorithm is less in this paper. And the probability of gaining optimal solution is bigger and the result is better under the condition of multi-constraint. 展开更多

This study presented a multi-objective linear fractional inventory (LFI) problem with generalised intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. In modelling, the authors have assumed the ambiances where generalised trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (GTIFNs) used to handle the uncertain information in the data. Then, the given multi-objective generalised intuitionistic fuzzy LFI model was transformed into its equivalent deterministic linear fractional programming problem by employing the possibility and necessity measures. Finally, the applicability of the model is demonstrated with a numerical example and the sensitivity analysis under several parameters is investigated to explore the study. 展开更多

As a key node of modern transportation network, the informationization management of road tunnels is crucial to ensure the operation safety and traffic efficiency. However, the existing tunnel vehicle modeling methods generally have problems such as insufficient 3D scene description capability and low dynamic update efficiency, which are difficult to meet the demand of real-time accurate management. For this reason, this paper proposes a vehicle twin modeling method for road tunnels. This approach starts from the actual management needs, and supports multi-level dynamic modeling from vehicle type, size to color by constructing a vehicle model library that can be flexibly invoked;at the same time, semantic constraint rules with geometric layout, behavioral attributes, and spatial relationships are designed to ensure that the virtual model matches with the real model with a high degree of similarity;ultimately, the prototype system is constructed and the case region is selected for the case study, and the dynamic vehicle status in the tunnel is realized by integrating real-time monitoring data with semantic constraints for precise virtual-real mapping. Finally, the prototype system is constructed and case experiments are conducted in selected case areas, which are combined with real-time monitoring data to realize dynamic updating and three-dimensional visualization of vehicle states in tunnels. The experiments show that the proposed method can run smoothly with an average rendering efficiency of 17.70 ms while guaranteeing the modeling accuracy(composite similarity of 0.867),which significantly improves the real-time and intuitive tunnel management. The research results provide reliable technical support for intelligent operation and emergency response of road tunnels, and offer new ideas for digital twin modeling of complex scenes. 展开更多

The principal-subordinate hierarchical multi-objective programming model of initial water rights allocation was developed based on the principle of coordinated and sustainable development of different regions and water sectors within a basin. With the precondition of strictly controlling maximum emissions rights, initial water rights were allocated between the first and the second levels of the hierarchy in order to promote fair and coordinated development across different regions of the basin and coordinated and efficient water use across different water sectors, realize the maximum comprehensive benefits to the basin, promote the unity of quantity and quality of initial water rights allocation, and eliminate water conflict across different regions and water sectors. According to interactive decision-making theory, a principal-subordinate hierarchical interactive iterative algorithm based on the satisfaction degree was developed and used to solve the initial water rights allocation model. Evolutionary algorithm is time-consuming because of the large number of evolutions and much times of finite element analysis, when it is used to optimize the wing structure of a certain high altitude long endurance unmanned aviation vehicle(UAV). In order to improve efficiency it is proposed to construct a model management framework to perform the multi-objective optimization design of wing structure. A vague-set-based fuzzy multi-objective decision making model is developed for evaluating bidding plans in a bid- ding purchase process. A group of decision-makers (DMs) first independently assess bidding plans according to their experience and preferences, and these assessments may be expressed as linguistic terms, which are then converted to fuzzy numbers. The resulting decision matrices are then transformed to objective membership grade matrices. The lower bound of satisfaction and upper bound of dissatisfaction are used to determine each bidding plan’s supporting, opposing, and neutral objective sets, which together determine the vague value of a bidding plan. Finally, a score function is employed to rank all bidding plans. A new score function based on vague sets is introduced in the model and a novel method is presented for calculating the lower bound of sat- isfaction and upper bound of dissatisfaction. In a vague-set-based fuzzy multi-objective decision making model, different valua- tions for upper and lower bounds of satisfaction usually lead to distinct ranking results. Therefore, it is crucial to effectively contain DMs’ arbitrariness and subjectivity when these values are determined. 展开更多

For automated vehicles, comfortable driving will improve passengers’ satisfaction.Reducing fuel consumption brings economic profits for car owners, decreases the impact on the environment and increases energy sustainability. In addition to comfort and fuel-economy,automated vehicles also have the basic requirements of safety and car-following.For this purpose,an adaptive cruise control (ACC) algorithm with multi-objectives is proposed based on a model predictive control (MPC) framework. In the proposed ACC algorithm, safety is guaranteed by constraining the inter-distance within a safe range; the requirements of comfort and car-following are considered to be the performance criteria and some optimal reference trajectories are introduced to increase fuel-economy.The performances of the proposed ACC algorithm are simulated and analyzed in five representative traffic scenarios and multiple experiments. The results show that not only are safety and car-following objectives satisfied, but also driving comfort and fuel-economy are improved significantly. 展开更多

The distributed flexible job shop scheduling problem(DFJSP)has attracted great attention with the growth of the global manufacturing industry.General DFJSP research only considers machine constraints and ignores worker constraints. As one critical factor of production, effective utilization of worker resources can increase productivity.Meanwhile, energy consumption is a growing concern due to the increasingly serious environmental issues. Therefore, the distributed flexible job shop scheduling problem with dual resource constraints(DFJSP-DRC)for minimizing makespan and total energy consumption is studied in this paper. To solve the problem,we present a multi-objective mathematical model for DFJSP-DRC and propose a Q-learning-based multi-objective grey wolf optimizer(Q-MOGWO).In Q-MOGWO,high-quality initial solutions are generated by a hybrid initialization strategy, and an improved active decoding strategy is designed to obtain the scheduling schemes. To further enhance the local search capability and expand the solution space, two wolf predation strategies and three critical factory neighborhood structures based on Q-learning are proposed. These strategies and structures enable Q-MOGWO to explore the solution space more efficiently and thus find better Pareto solutions. The effectiveness of Q-MOGWO in addressing DFJSP-DRC is verified through comparison with four algorithms using 45 instances. The results reveal that Q-MOGWO outperforms comparison algorithms in terms of solution quality. 展开更多

An application of multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm for optimization of the hydrological model (HYMOD) is presented in this paper. MOPSO algorithm is used to find non-dominated solutions with two objectives: high flow Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency and low flow Nash- Sutcliffe efficiency. The two sets' coverage rate and Pareto front spacing metric are two criterions to analyze the performance of the algorithms. MOPSO algorithm surpasses multi-objective shuffled complex evolution metcopolis (MOSCEM_UA) algorithr~, in terms of the two sets' coverage rate. But when we come to Pareto front spacing rate, the non-dominated solutions of MOSCEM_ UA algorithm are better-distributed than that of MOPSO algorithm when the iteration is set to 40 000. In addition, there are obvious conflicts between the two objectives. But a compromise solution can be acquired by adopting the MOPSO algorithm. 展开更多

Constrained multi-objective optimization problems(CMOPs)generally contain multiple constraints, which not only form multiple discrete feasible regions but also reduce the size of optimal feasible regions, thus they propose serious challenges for solvers.Among all constraints, some constraints are highly correlated with optimal feasible regions;thus they can provide effective help to find feasible Pareto front. However, most of the existing constrained multi-objective evolutionary algorithms tackle constraints by regarding all constraints as a whole or directly ignoring all constraints, and do not consider judging the relations among constraints and do not utilize the information from promising single constraints. Therefore, this paper attempts to identify promising single constraints and utilize them to help solve CMOPs.To be specific,a CMOP is transformed into a multitasking optimization problem, where multiple auxiliary tasks are created to search for the Pareto fronts that only consider a single constraint respectively.Besides,an auxiliary task priority method is designed to identify and retain some high-related auxiliary tasks according to the information of relative positions and dominance relationships. Moreover,an improved tentative method is designed to find and transfer useful knowledge among tasks.Experimental results on three benchmark test suites and 11 realworld problems with different numbers of constraints show better or competitive performance of the proposed method when compared with eight state-of-the-art peer methods. 展开更多

To improve the computational efficiency and accuracy of multi-objective reliability estimation for aerospace engineering structural systems, the Intelligent Vectorial Surrogate Modeling(IVSM)concept is presented by fusing the compact support region, surrogate modeling methods, matrix theory, and Bayesian optimization strategy. In this concept, the compact support region is employed to select effective modeling samples;the surrogate modeling methods are employed to establish a functional relationship between input variables and output responses;the matrix theory is adopted to establish the vector and cell arrays of modeling parameters and synchronously determine multi-objective limit state functions;the Bayesian optimization strategy is utilized to search for the optimal hyperparameters for modeling.Under this concept, the Intelligent Vectorial Neural Network(IVNN)method is proposed based on deep neural network to realize the reliability analysis of multi-objective aerospace engineering structural systems synchronously. The multioutput response function approximation problem and two engineering application cases(i.e.,landing gear brake system temperature and aeroengine turbine blisk multi-failures)are used to verify the applicability of IVNN method. The results indicate that the proposed approach holds advantages in modeling properties and simulation performances. The efforts of this paper can offer a valuable reference for the improvement of multi-objective reliability assessment theory. 展开更多
