In this paper,we report the study of the process of fabricating a multi-layermetal micro-structure using UV-LIGA overlay technology,includingmask fabrication,substrate treatment,and UV-LIGA overlay processes.To solve ...In this paper,we report the study of the process of fabricating a multi-layermetal micro-structure using UV-LIGA overlay technology,includingmask fabrication,substrate treatment,and UV-LIGA overlay processes.To solve the process problems in the masking procedure,the swelling problemof the first layer of SU-8 thick photoresist was studied experimentally.The 5μmline-width compensation and closed 20μmand 30μmisolation strips were designed and fabricated around the micro-structure pattern.The pore problemin the Ni micro-electroforming layer was analyzed and the electroforming parameters were improved.The pH value of the electroforming solution should be controlled between 3.8 and 4.4 and the current density should be below 3 A/dm^2.To solve the problems of high inner stress and incomplete development of the micro-cylinder hole array with a diameter of 30μm,the lithography process was optimized.The pre-baking temperature was increased via gradient heating and rose every 5℃ from 65℃ to 85℃ and then remained at 85℃ for 50 min–1 h.In addition,the full contact exposure was used.Finally,a multi-layer metal micro-structure with high precision and good quality of microelectroforming layer was fabricated using UV-LIGA overlay technology.展开更多

This paper presents a model of rough surface and stratified sub-surfaces to describe the multi-layer structure of Mars polar deposits. Based on numerical simulation of radar echoes from rough surface/stratified interfaces, an inversion approach is developed to obtain the parameters of Polar Layered Deposits, i.e. layers thickness and dielectric constants. As a validation example, the SHARAD radar sounder data of the Promethei Lingula of Mars South Polar region is adopted for parameters inversion. The result of stratification is also analyzed and compared with the optical photo of the deep cliff of Chasma Australe canyon. Dielectric inversions show that the deposit media are not uniform, and the dielectric constants of the Promethei Lingula surfaces are large, and become reduced around the depth of 20 m - 30 m, below where most of the deposits are nearly pure ice, except a few thin layers with a lot of dust.展开更多

Within the s...Stability assessment is one of the most important issues in mining ground control. Mine development and/or production instability can cause production delay, loss of reserves, as well as injury to miners. Within the scope of this study, a series of open stope’s instability under the influence of overlaying mined-out regions were carried out with different mining scenarios at Modi Taung gold mine which is operated by National Prosperity Gold Production Group Limited (NPGPGL) in Myanmar. NPGPGL has been developing stopes up to 150 m from the surface at Shwesin vein system, and the mining activities are going to continue to deeper levels to fulfill the ore mineral supply. Creating a new stope opening under overlaying mined-out regions is not easy considering the instability of mined-out regions can affect the stope. The instability of new stope opening is not only due to its own induced stress but also the strong influence by the mined-out regions situated on upper part of the stope. Therefore, the understandings of ground behaviors and failure mechanisms of new stope opening due to the influence of overlaying mined-out regions are paramount to be studied. This paper describes in detail the strength factor and failure zones under the overlaying mined-out regions with different mine conditions by using numerical simulations, 3D finite difference software (FLAC 3D).展开更多
To predict fracture height in hydraulic fracturing, we developed and solved a hydraulic fracture height mathematical model aiming at high stress and multi-layered complex formations based on studying the effect of pla...To predict fracture height in hydraulic fracturing, we developed and solved a hydraulic fracture height mathematical model aiming at high stress and multi-layered complex formations based on studying the effect of plastic region generated by stress concentration at fracture tip on the growth of fracture height. Moreover, we compared the results from this model with results from two other fracture height prediction models(MFEH, Frac Pro) to verify the accuracy of the model. Sensitivity analysis by case computation of the model shows that the hydraulic fracture growth in ladder pattern, and the larger the fracture height, the more obvious the ladder growth pattern is. Fracture height growth is mainly influenced by the in-situ stresses. Fracture toughness of rock can prohibit the growth of fracture height to some extent. Moreover, the increase of fracturing fluid density can facilitate the propagation of the lower fracture tip.展开更多
