In this paper, a multi-item inventory model with storage space, number of orders and production cost as constraints are developed in both crisp and fuzzy environment. In most of the real world situations the cost parameters, the objective functions and constraints of the decision makers are imprecise in nature. This model is solved with shortages and the unit cost dependent demand is assumed. Hence the cost parameters are imposed here in fuzzy environment. This model has been solved by Kuhn-Tucker conditions method. The results for the model without shortages are obtained as a particular case. The model is illustrated with numerical example. 展开更多

In this paper, we explore the optimal policy of this inventory problem by analyzing the structural properties of the model, and introduce a simple algorithm for generating the optimal solution to this problem. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between environment and personal well-being using a sample of 562 urban employees from three cities in Liaoning province in the People's Republic of China.In contrast to previous studies,this study controlled positive affectivity (PA),negative affectivity (NA),job satisfaction and Big Five personality traits.In addition,the research variables of personal well-being index (PWI),positive affectivity,negative affectivity,job satisfaction,Big Five,and environmental satisfaction are measured with multi-item scales.The research finds that environmental satisfaction is positively related to personal well-being,suggesting that improvement of the natural surroundings in the cities can improve people's well-being. 展开更多

In a fruit wholesale shop,a fruiterer needs to maintain huge inventory of different ranges of fruit items for customers because of uncertainty in consumer preferences and behaviour.But demand of them may differ and different EOQ models for each item are required for optimal level of EOQ.This paper presents a single inventory model to assimilate these varieties.It is assumed that many fruit items bear constant rate of deterioration,some are with time proportional deterioration and some do not deteriorate.To control deterioration of the units in inventory,the advanced preservation technology is considered.The proposed single inventory model of this paper incorporates composite and heterogeneous features of multiple items and presents analysis for obtaining optimal level for output model parameters. 展开更多

Fresh agri-product emergency supply is crucial to secure the basic livelihood of residents at large-scale epidemic disease context. Considering the massive demand and limited transportation resources, this study integrates multi-item packaging and vehicle routing with split delivery to improve the emergency supply capacity. Firstly, three specific objectives of fresh agri-product emergency supply at large-scale epidemic disease context are formulated, i.e., average response time, infectious risk possibility and transportation resource utilization. Then, a multi-item packaging strategy is proposed to consolidate different categories of fresh agri-products according to the food cold chain temperatures.An optimization model integrating multi-item packaging and vehicle routing with split delivery is developed to jointly decide the optimal packaging scheduling, vehicle assignment and delivery routing. Next, an improved genetic algorithm based on solution features (IGA-SF) is designed to solve the integrated model with multiple decision variables. Finally,a case on fresh agri-product emergency supply of Huangpi District, Wuhan in the context of the Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19) is carried out to illustrate the efficiency and feasibility of the proposed model. The numerical results of medium-to-largescale cases demonstrate that the proposed IGA-SF could save 23.91% CPU time and 37.80% iteration number on average than genetic algorithm. This study could satisfy different emergency scenario requirements flexibly, and provide scientific decision support for provincial and national governments on fresh agri-product emergency supply. 展开更多

In a wholesale shop,the retailer is required to keep an inventory of various ranges of a product due to uncertainty in consumer preferences and behavior.Different Economic Order Quantity(EOQ)models for each variety of a product are needed for optimum level of inventory.EOQ model decides how much stock a shopkeeper has to store,according to demand and deterioration of different items to optimize the inventory policy of multiple products.Items like fashion,food,vegetables,pharmaceuticals,etc.,deteriorate in the retailer’s warehouse during storage.An investment is required in preservation technology to significantly reduce the deterioration rate,reduce economic losses,and increase business competitiveness.Here,a multi-item deteriorating EOQ model with a fixed cycle duration has been developed incorporating the preservation technology.The demands for the items are a quadratic function of the selling price,and shortages are allowed.The main objective is to determine the optimal selling price,investment under preservation,the time length up to zero inventory,order quantity of the proposed inventory model such that the overall profit will be maximized.First,we prove that the optimal selling price and investment in preservation exist and are unique.Next,the total profit per unit time is a concave function of selling price and preservation technology investment.An algorithm is designed to obtain the optimum joint policy.A numerical example has been given to illustrate the model,and sensitivity analysis is conducted,which gives some managerial insights. 展开更多
