Three bridge finite element (FE) models were built using OpenSees, in which the longitudinal and transverse pounding elements, as well as the transverse failure element of bearings were introduced. Based on this, tire seismic response analysis considering the coupling pounding-friction effect was conducted for the continuous bridge subjected to bi-directional ground motions. Furthermore, the influential parameters were analyzed. The analysis results indicate that the coupling pounding-friction effect can alter the internal force distribution of the bridge structure and generate additional torsional force to bridge columns. The friction coefficient and longitudinal pounding gap size are two important factors. The appropriate friction coefficient and longitudinal pounding gap size can significantly reduce seismic response of girders, and effectively transfer part of the girder inertia force from the fixed columns to the sliding columns, which can reduce the seismic demands of the fixed columns and improve the seismic performance of continuous bridge structures.展开更多

With the variation of aqueduct cross-section ratio of depth to width, the aqueduct transverse seismic response change. The transverse seismic response of a large-scale aqueduct in several work condition are calculated. It shows that the transverse seismic response is greatly influenced by the water mass in the aqueduct, but the shaking water play a TLD role. ff the whole water is appended aqueduct body, it will magnify seismic inertia action. The current frequency response model without considering the voltage effect would bring remarkable errors when analyzing the frequency dynamic progress in the island with large-capacity active-power shortage. In this paper, coupling effects of voltage and frequency are studied to indicate that initial reactive-power deficit and load characteristics have strong effects on the coupling effects of the voltage and frequency. Moreover, control effects of currently used under frequency load-shedding relays (UFLS) and under voltage load-shedding relays (UVLS) which are installed and executed independently are examined to find that it would sometimes cause excessive or inadequate control without considering the coupling, suggesting that it is necessary to develop coordinate control methods for voltage and frequency problems.展开更多

The dynamic response of long-span Rail-cum-Road cable-stayed bridges is particularly severe under their influence, potentially leading to safety problems. In this paper, a fluid–structure separation solution method is implemented using Ansys–Midas co-simulation, in order to solve the above issues effectively while using less computational resources. The feasibility of the method is verified by comparing the tower top displacement response with relevant experimental data. From time and frequency domain perspectives, the displacement and acceleration responses of the sea-crossing Rail-cum-Road cable-stayed bridge influenced by wave-only, wind–wave, and wind–wave–undercurrent coupling are comparatively studied. The results indicate that the displacement and acceleration of the front bearing platform top are more significant than those of the rear bearing platform. The dominant frequency under wind–wave–undercurrent coupling is close to the natural vibration frequencies of several bridge modes, such that wind–wave–undercurrent coupling is more likely to cause a resonance effect in the bridge. Compared with the wave-only and wind–wave coupling, wind–wave–undercurrent coupling can excite bridges to produce larger displacement and acceleration responses: at the middle of the main girder span, compared with the wave-only case, the maximum displacement in the transverse bridge direction increases by 23.58% and 46.95% in the wind–wave and wind–wave–undercurrent coupling cases, respectively;at the tower top, the variation in the amplitude of the displacement and acceleration responses of wind–wave and wind–wave–undercurrent coupling are larger than those in the wave-only case, where the acceleration change amplitude of the tower top is from-0.93 to 0.86 m/s^(2) in the waveonly case, from-2.2 to 2.1 m/s^(2) under wind–wave coupling effect, and from-2.6 to 2.65 m/s^(2) under wind–wave–undercurrent coupling effect, indicating that the tower top is mainly affected by wind loads, but wave and undercurrent loads cannot be neglected.展开更多

The motion differential equations of the large increased pressure wind tunnel rotor-gear coupling system were derived by the finite element method. Newmark integral method was applied to calculate the dynamic response of the system with parallel misalignment. The numerical results show that: under the effect of additive radial force, the static misalignment can arouse 2X frequency component lateral vibration; the dynamic misalignment can arouse2X,4X,6X multiple frequency components lateral vibration. The 2X frequency component is obvious. The additive radial force of the gear coupling can arouse lateral vibration with even multiple frequency components.展开更多

文摘The coupling effects of rainfall, earthquake, and complex topographic and geological conditions complicate the dynamic responses and disasters of slope-tunnel systems. For this, the large-scale shaking table tests were carried out to explore the dynamic responses of steep bedding slope-tunnel system under the coupling effect of rainfall and earthquake. Results show that the slope surface and elevation amplification effect exhibit pronounced nonlinear change caused by the tunnel and weak interlayers. When seismic wave propagates to tunnels, the weak interlayers and rock intersecting areas present complex wave field distribution characteristics. The dynamic responses of the slope are influenced by the frequency, amplitude, and direction of seismic waves. The acceleration amplification coefficient initially rises and then falls as increasing seismic frequency, peaking at 20 Hz.Additionally, the seismic damage process of slope is categorized into elastic(2-3 m/s^(2)),elastoplastic(4-5 m/s^(2))and plastic damage stages(≥6.5 m/s^(2)).In elastic stage,ΔMPGA(ratio of acceleration amplification factor)increases with increasing seismic intensity, without obvious strain distribution change. In plastic stage,ΔMPGA begins to gradually plummet, and the strain is mainly distributed in the damaged area. The modes of seismic damage in the slope-tunnel system are mainly of tensile failure of the weak interlayer, cracking failure of tunnel lining, formation of persistent cracks on the slope crest and waist, development and outward shearing of the sliding mass, and buckling failure at the slope foot under extrusion of the upper rock body. This study can serve as a reference for predicting the failure modes of tunnel-slope system in strong seismic regions.

文摘The utilization of multi-field coupling simulation methods has become a pivotal approach for the investigation of intricate fracture behavior and interaction mechanisms of rock masses in deep strata. The high temperatures, pressures and complex geological environments of deep strata frequently result in the coupling of multiple physical fields, including mechanical, thermal and hydraulic fields, during the fracturing of rocks. This review initially presents an overview of the coupling mechanisms of these physical fields, thereby elucidating the interaction processes ofmechanical, thermal, and hydraulic fields within rockmasses.Secondly,an in-depth analysis ofmulti-field coupling is conducted from both spatial and temporal perspectives, with the introduction of simulation methods for a range of scales. It emphasizes cross-scale coupling methodologies for the transfer of rock properties and physical field data, including homogenization techniques, nested coupling strategies and data-driven approaches. To address the discontinuous characteristics of the rock fracture process, the review provides a detailed explanation of continuousdiscontinuous couplingmethods,to elucidate the evolution of rock fracturing and deformationmore comprehensively. In conclusion, the review presents a summary of the principal points, challenges and future directions of multi-field coupling simulation research. It also puts forward the potential of integrating intelligent algorithms with multi-scale simulation techniques to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of multi-field coupling simulations. This offers novel insights into multi-field coupling simulation analysis in deep rock masses.

文摘Due to the atomic-level centrosymmetric spontaneous polarization, antiferroelectric materials exhibit a sensitively nonlinear capacitive response to plural physic fields(mainly electric field and temperature)in a certain range, consequently leading to some superb material properties,e.g.,ripple suppression,elec-trocaloric cooling, and dielectric energy storage. However, there are many cognitive blanks about how this exotic multi-field relationε(E_(DC),T)is influenced and manipulated via microscopic structures in the anti-ferroelectrics.In this work, the classic antiferroelectric ceramics PLZT were selected to see this intelligent effect, based on a quad-parameterizedε(E_(DC))relation on the dependence of T.εrelations were studied under different material compositions, temperature, frequency,AC electric field, and DC electric field,re-vealing lattice/domain structure evolution and the underlying mechanism. The inherent phase stability, introduced random field, and hierarchical hysteresis states were found to co-dominate this multi-field nonlinear relation. This work would not only contribute to future progress in the current applications(ripple suppression/electrocaloric cooling/dielectric energy storage)but imply the possibility of co-sensing temperature and electric potential simply and smartly.

文摘Sandwich piezoelectric semiconductor(PS)structures have significant applications in multi-functional semiconductor devices. The analysis of multi-field coupling behaviors of PS structures is of fundamental importance in developing novel PS devices. In this paper,we develop a general temperature-deformation-polarization-carrier(TDPC)coupling model for sandwich-type PS beams involving pyroelectricity under thermal loadings, based on three-dimensional(3D)basic equations of the thermo-piezoelectric semiconductor(TPS).We derive analytical solutions for extensional, bending, and buckling deformations of simply-supported sandwich n-type PS beams subjected to open-circuit and electrically isolated boundary conditions. The accuracy of the proposed model in this paper is verified through finite element simulations implemented in the COMSOL software.Numerical results show that the initial electron concentration and the thickness ratio of the PS layer to the beam's total thickness have a significant effect on thermally induced extensional and bending responses,as well as critical buckling mechanical and thermal loadings. This study provides a theoretical framework and guidance for designing semiconductor devices based on sandwich PS beam structures.

文摘The seismic response characteristics of underground structures in saturated soils are investigated.A fully fluid-solid coupling dynamic model is developed and implemented into ABAQUS with a user-defined element to simulate the dynamic behavior of saturated soils. The accuracy of the model is validated using a classic example in literature. The performance of the model is verified by its application on simulating the seismic response characteristics of a subway station built in saturated soils. The merits of the model are demonstrated by comparing the difference of the seismic response of an underground structure in saturated soils between using the fully coupling model and a single-phase medium model. The study finds that the fully coupling model developed herein can simulate the dynamic response characteristics of the underground structures in saturated soils with high accuracy. The seismic response of the underground structure tends to be underestimated by using the single-phase medium model compared with using the fully coupling model, which provides a weaker confining action to the underground structure.

文摘To evaluate the coupling pounding-friction effect between bridge girders and retainers and its influence on bridge seismic response, a reinforced concrete (RC) continuous bridge is selected as the research object. The appropriate friction coefficient and longitudinal pounding gap size can significantly reduce seismic response of girders, and effectively transfer part of the girder inertia force from the fixed columns to the sliding columns, which can reduce the seismic demands of the fixed columns and improve the seismic performance of continuous bridge structures.

文摘Based on the theory of Housner, the transverse seismic response of beam aqueduct considering fluid-structure coupling is established. When aqueduct cross-section is selected, the influence of ratio of depth and width to pier seismic response should be considered in order to reduce seismic action.
文摘The voltage and frequency dynamics interact with each other in the island after splitting. Moreover, control effects of currently used under frequency load-shedding relays (UFLS) and under voltage load-shedding relays (UVLS) which are installed and executed independently are examined to find that it would sometimes cause excessive or inadequate control without considering the coupling, suggesting that it is necessary to develop coordinate control methods for voltage and frequency problems.

文摘To predict the wave loads of a flexible trimaran in different wave fields,a one-way interaction numerical simulation method is proposed by integrating the fluid solver(Star-CCM+)and structural solver(Abaqus).Differing from the existing coupled CFD-FEA method for monohull ships in head waves, the presented method equates the mass and stiffness of the whole ship to the hull shell so that any transverse and longitudinal section stress of the hull in oblique waves can be obtained.Firstly, verification study and sensitivity analysis are carried out by comparing the trimaran motions using different mesh sizes and time step schemes.Discussion on the wave elevation of uni-and bi-directional waves is also carried out. Then a comprehensive analysis on the structural responses of the trimaran in different uni-directional regular wave and bi-directional cross sea conditions is carried out, respectively. Finally, the differences in structural response characteristics of trimaran in different wave fields are studied. The results show that the present method can reduce the computational burden of the two-way fluid-structure interaction simulations.
文摘Sea-crossing bridges are affected by random wind–wave–undercurrent coupling loads, due to the complex marine environment. Compared with the wave-only and wind–wave coupling, wind–wave–undercurrent coupling can excite bridges to produce larger displacement and acceleration responses: at the middle of the main girder span, compared with the wave-only case, the maximum displacement in the transverse bridge direction increases by 23.58% and 46.95% in the wind–wave and wind–wave–undercurrent coupling cases, respectively;at the tower top, the variation in the amplitude of the displacement and acceleration responses of wind–wave and wind–wave–undercurrent coupling are larger than those in the wave-only case, where the acceleration change amplitude of the tower top is from-0.93 to 0.86 m/s^(2) in the waveonly case, from-2.2 to 2.1 m/s^(2) under wind–wave coupling effect, and from-2.6 to 2.65 m/s^(2) under wind–wave–undercurrent coupling effect, indicating that the tower top is mainly affected by wind loads, but wave and undercurrent loads cannot be neglected.

文摘To study the misalignment of gear coupling, this paper analyzed the distortion of the tooth of gear coupling on the base of gear coupling’s motion under parallel misalignment, and derived the specific expression of additive radial force, which produced by the rotor’ torque. The additive radial force of the gear coupling can arouse lateral vibration with even multiple frequency components.
