Enhancing Educational Materials: Integrating Emojis and AI Models into Learning Management Systems

The integration of visual elements,such as emojis,into educational content represents a promising approach to enhancing student engagement and comprehension.However,existing efforts in emoji integration often lack systematic frameworks capable of addressing the contextual and pedagogical nuances required for effective implementation.This paper introduces a novel framework that combines Data-Driven Error-Correcting Output Codes(DECOC),Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)networks,and Multi-Layer Deep Neural Networks(ML-DNN)to identify optimal emoji placements within computer science course materials.The originality of the proposed system lies in its ability to leverage sentiment analysis techniques and contextual embeddings to align emoji recommendations with both the emotional tone and learning objectives of course content.A meticulously annotated dataset,comprising diverse topics in computer science,was developed to train and validate the model,ensuring its applicability across a wide range of educational contexts.Comprehensive validation demonstrated the system’s superior performance,achieving an accuracy of 92.4%,precision of 90.7%,recall of 89.3%,and an F1-score of 90.0%.Comparative analysis with baselinemodels and relatedworks confirms themodel’s ability tooutperformexisting approaches inbalancing accuracy,relevance,and contextual appropriateness.Beyond its technical advancements,this framework offers practical benefits for educators by providing an Artificial Intelligence-assisted(AI-assisted)tool that facilitates personalized content adaptation based on student sentiment and engagement patterns.By automating the identification of appropriate emoji placements,teachers can enhance digital course materials with minimal effort,improving the clarity of complex concepts and fostering an emotionally supportive learning environment.This paper contributes to the emerging field of AI-enhanced education by addressing critical gaps in personalized content delivery and pedagogical support.Its findings highlight the transformative potential of integrating AI-driven emoji placement systems into educational materials,offering an innovative tool for fostering student engagement and enhancing learning outcomes.The proposed framework establishes a foundation for future advancements in the visual augmentation of educational resources,emphasizing scalability and adaptability for broader applications in e-learning. 展开更多

Objective:To analyze the effect of implementing a comprehensive nursing management program for rabies vaccination patients.Methods:100 cases of rabies vaccination patients were selected as observation objects from January 2022 to December 2023,and after enrollment,they were grouped according to the different nursing management programs,with 50 cases in each group.The control group was only given routine nursing management,and the observation group was combined with comprehensive nursing management on the basis of routine nursing management.The completion rate of vaccination,the rate of adverse reactions,and the satisfaction rate were assessed,comparing the clinical effects of different nursing management programs.Results:The completion rate of the 5th shot of rabies vaccination in the observation group was 82.00%higher than 64.00%in the control group(χ^(2)=4.1096,P<0.05);the rate of adverse reaction of vaccination in the observation group was 4.00%lower than 18.00%in the control group(χ^(2)=5.0051,P<0.05);the vaccination satisfaction in the observation group was 98.00%higher than 86.00%in the control group(χ^(2)=4.8913,P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of comprehensive nursing management program can help rabies vaccination patients to improve the completion rate of vaccination and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions to vaccination,with clear effects. 展开更多

Water and nitrogen footprint assessment of integrated agronomic practice management in a summer maize cropping system

The footprints of water and nitrogen(WF and NF)provide a comprehensive overview of the type and quantity of water consumption and reactive nitrogen(Nr)loss in crop production.In this study,a field experiment over two years(2019 and 2020)compared three integrated agronomic practice management(IAPM)systems:An improved management system(T2),a high-yield production system(T3),and an integrated soil-crop management system(ISCM)using a local smallholder farmer’s practice system(T1)as control,to investigate the responses of WF,Nr losses,water use efficiency(WUE),and nitrogen use efficiency(NUE)to IAPM.The results showed that IAPM optimized water distribution and promoted water use by summer maize.The evapotranspiration over the whole maize growth period of IAPM increased,but yield increased more,leading to a significant increase in WUE.The WUE of the T2,T3,and ISCM treatments was significantly greater than in the T1 treatment,in 2019 and 2020respectively,by 19.8-21.5,31.8-40.6,and 34.4-44.6%.The lowest WF was found in the ISCM treatment,which was 31.0%lower than that of the T1 treatment.In addition,the ISCM treatment optimized soil total nitrogen(TN)distribution and significantly increased TN in the cultivated layer.Excessive nitrogen fertilizer was applied in treatment T3,producing the highest maize yield,and resulting in the highest Nr losses.In contrast,the ISCM treatment used a reduced nitrogen fertilizer rate,sacrificing grain yield partly,which reduced Nr losses and eventually led to a significant increase in nitrogen use efficiency and nitrogen recovery.The Nr level in the ISCM treatment was34.8%lower than in the T1 treatment while NUE was significantly higher than in the T1 treatment by 56.8-63.1%in2019 and 2020,respectively.Considering yield,WUE,NUE,WF,and NF together,ISCM should be used as a more sustainable and clean system for sustainable production of summer maize. 展开更多

Objective:To analyze and evaluate the effects of the anesthesia and nursing integration management model in the anesthesia recovery room for patients undergoing hypertension surgery.Methods:A total of 100 patients with hypertension admitted to the hospital from May 2020 to December 2021 were selected and divided into two groups based on different management methods:the control group and the observation group,with 50 patients in each group.The control group received traditional nursing management,while the observation group was managed using the integrated anesthesia and nursing management model.Various indicators,including complications,recovery period metrics,vital signs,nursing satisfaction,and patient emotions,were compared between the two groups to determine the most suitable anesthesia nursing model.Results:Implementation of the integrated anesthesia and nursing management model showed that the mean arterial pressure and blood oxygen saturation levels in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group.The nursing satisfaction in the observation group was also markedly improved.Furthermore,the incidence of complications in the observation group was significantly lower than in the control group.Conclusions:The integrated anesthesia and nursing management model in the anesthesia recovery room positively influences patient outcomes.It effectively reduces complications,alleviates patients’psychological and emotional stress,and stabilizes vital signs.Additionally,this model enhances the professional performance of nursing staff,significantly improving the overall quality of nursing care and patient satisfaction. 展开更多

Managing fertilization in integrated crop-livestock systems(ICLS)during periods of low nutrient export,known as system fertilization,can optimize nutrient use by enhancing the soil's biochemical and physical-hydric properties.However,interdisciplinary studies on processes that improve input utilization in ICLS remain scarce.This study aimed to assess the relationships between the effciencies of different nutrient management strategies in ICLS and pure crop systems(PCS)and the biochemical and physical-hydric quality of soil.Two fertilization strategies(system fertilization and crop fertilization)and two cropping systems(ICLS and PCS)were evaluated in a randomized block design with three replicates.In the PCS,soybean was grown followed by ryegrass as a cover crop.In the ICLS,sheep grazed on the ryegrass.In the crop fertilization,phosphorus and potassium were applied to the soybean planting,and nitrogen was applied in the ryegrass establishment.Nitrogen,phosphorus,and potassium were applied during ryegrass establishment in the system fertilization.Soil quality indexes were calculated using fourteen physical-hydric and biochemical soil indicators,and primary production and nutrient utilization effciency were evaluated.System fertilization in ICLS enhanced the soil functions of water storage and availability for plants,structural stability,and resistance to degradation.System fertilization in ICLS improved the soil quality by 14%over PCS and 13%over crop fertilization in ICLS.Notably,this optimized system yielded the highest primary production.These findings underscore the pivotal role of system fertilization in ICLS to boost food production and enhance soil ecosystem services without increasing the consumption of external fertilizers.They advocate for a strategic shift towards system-level fertilization in integrated systems,and demonstrate for the frst time in ICLS,the delicate balance between nutrient management,soil health,and sustainable productivity. 展开更多

As China’s higher education transitions from extensive expansion to intensive development,the‘New Liberal Arts’concept has emerged as a pivotal strategic direction for transforming humanities disciplines.This approach emphasizes interdisciplinary integration,parallel development of theory and practice,and optimizing talent cultivation models guided by societal demands.The diversified economic structure and high-quality development trajectory of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area present new demands for talent cultivation,curriculum design,and pedagogical reform within university Human Resource Management(HRM)programs.Taking Guangzhou Huashang College as the research subject,this paper analyses the core competencies required for HRM programs under the New Liberal Arts framework through policy document analysis,literature review,and field research.It identifies shortcomings in the current curriculum system regarding knowledge structure,practical pathways,and cross-disciplinary integration.Guided by Outcome-Based Education(OBE)and Competency-Based Education(CBE)frameworks,a new curriculum architecture was designed comprising four pillars:general education and humanities literacy,professional core competencies,cross-disciplinary integration,and practical innovation.Practical explorations were undertaken in areas such as university-enterprise collaboration and industry-education integration.Preliminary outcomes demonstrate that the new scheme comprehensively enhances students’data comprehension,strategic awareness,and humanistic sensitivity,providing a reference paradigm for the high-quality development of HRM programs within the new liberal arts context. 展开更多

This paper presents a novel approach to dynamic pricing and distributed energy management in virtual power plant(VPP)networks using multi-agent reinforcement learning(MARL).As the energy landscape evolves towards greater decentralization and renewable integration,traditional optimization methods struggle to address the inherent complexities and uncertainties.Our proposed MARL framework enables adaptive,decentralized decision-making for both the distribution system operator and individual VPPs,optimizing economic efficiency while maintaining grid stability.We formulate the problem as a Markov decision process and develop a custom MARL algorithm that leverages actor-critic architectures and experience replay.Extensive simulations across diverse scenarios demonstrate that our approach consistently outperforms baseline methods,including Stackelberg game models and model predictive control,achieving an 18.73%reduction in costs and a 22.46%increase in VPP profits.The MARL framework shows particular strength in scenarios with high renewable energy penetration,where it improves system performance by 11.95%compared with traditional methods.Furthermore,our approach demonstrates superior adaptability to unexpected events and mis-predictions,highlighting its potential for real-world implementation. 展开更多

Modelling of Flood Risks to People’s Life and Property in the Lower Yellow River Under Different Floodplain Management Modes

Quantification of river flood risks is a prerequisite for floodplain management and development.The lower Yellow River(LYR)is characterized by a complex channel–floodplain system,which is prone to flooding but inhabits a large population on the floodplains.Many floodplain management modes have been presented,but implementation effects of these management modes have not been evaluated correctly.An integrated model was first proposed to evaluate the flood risks to people’s life and property,covering an improved module of two-dimensional(2D)morphodynamic processes and a module of flood risk evaluation for people,buildings and crops on the floodplains.Two simulation cases were then conducted to validate the model accuracy,including the hyperconcentrated flood event and dike-breach induced flood event occurring in the LYR.Finally,the integrated model was applied to key floodplains in the LYR,and the effects of different floodplain management modes were quantified on the risks to people’s life and property under an extreme flood event.Results indicate that:①Satisfactory accuracy was achieved in the simulation of these two flood events.The maximum sediment concentration was just underestimated by 9%,and the simulated inundation depth agreed well with the field record;②severe inundation was predicted to occur in most domains under the current topography(SchemeⅠ),which would be alleviated after implementing different floodplain management modes,with the area in slight inundation degree accounting for a large proportion under the mode of“construction of protection embankment”(SchemeⅡ)and the area in medium inundation degree occupying a high ratio under the mode of“floodplain partition harnessing”(SchemeⅢ);and③compared with SchemeⅠ,the high-risk area for people’s life and property would reduce by 21%–49%under SchemeⅡ,and by 35%–93%under SchemeⅢ. 展开更多

Anthropogenically induced land use/land cover(LULC)transformations and accelerating climatic variabilities have emerged as pivotal forces reshaping the hydrological equilibrium of fluvial systems,particularly in ecologically sensitive basins.This study systematically interrogates the compounded ramifications of LULC dynamics and projected climate change on the hydrological response of the Upper Jemma Watershed an integral sub-catchment of the Upper Blue Nile River system.Employing the advanced QSWAT+hydrological modeling framework within a GIS interface,the analysis integrates bias‐corrected climatic projections under RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5 scenarios alongside multi-temporal remote sensing‐derived land cover datasets.The findings unveil an unequivocal intensification of surface runoff and streamflow due to expansive agricultural encroachment,juxtaposed with a discernible decline in evapotranspiration and soil water retention.Climatic perturbations,notably temperature elevation and precipitation attenuation,further exacerbate these trends,with pronounced seasonality in hydrological fluxes.Importantly,synergistic interactions between land cover transformation and climatic anomalies manifest in nonlinear hydrological alterations,amplifying peak flows and diminishing baseflows.This underscores the riverine system's heightened vulnerability and the necessity for integrated watershed management strategies that account for multifactorial hydrological stressors.The study provides a robust empirical and modeling basis to inform adaptive water governance within transboundary river basins susceptible to environmental transitions. 展开更多

Background: Integrative nutrition has been defined as providing a combination of medical nutrition therapy including a personalized investigation on the root cause of chronic diseases due to poor lifestyle. It has been evident that integrative nutrition has a strong impact in weight management. Case Report: 5 case reports were investigated in the current study where we reported 5 cases of participants that have completed a 6-month duration of a telenutrition weight loss program, supported with weekly telemonitoring and monthly telehealth coaching following an integrative nutrition approach. All participants have significantly lost weight through a 6-month period. Additionally, each participant has worked on specific aspect in their lifestyle following the circle of life components to overcome struggles in following their diets and support weight management. All 5 participants had a significant negative correlation between weight and having fun, home cooking, spirituality, sports, and their jobs, which means that being satisfied with the mentioned (CoL) measures, lower values of the weight and increase steps. Thus, future research must carry similar interventions with long term durations and evaluate the most common aspect of life associated with obesity. 展开更多

In order to alleviate the endurance anxiety and charging anxiety in the development of electric vehicles, super fast charging and heat pump technologies will be applied to the next generation of vehicle platforms, but they also bring new challenges to the thermal management system. The functional requirements of thermal management systems are increasing, and the complexity of the system and the types and quantities of components are increasing rapidly. Integration has become a solution to simplify the system and reduce costs. The first thing to do is to integrate the physical and functional integration of multiple coolant valves, and integrate the switching of thermal management loop into one valve. Through mechanical integration with other actuators, sensors and heat exchangers in the coolant circuit and refrigeration circuit, the space utilization rate of thermal management system is improved, which provides convenience for the modular design of main engine models. In the future, it will complement the integration of electronic and electrical architecture to achieve a higher degree of drive, control and software integration. 展开更多

The greatest challenge for tropical agriculture is land degradation and reduction in soil fertility for sustainable crop and livestock production.Associated problems include soil erosion,nutrient mining,competition for biomass for multiple uses,limited application of inorganic fertilizers,and limited capacity of farmers to recognize the decline in soil quality and its consequences on productivity.Integrated soil fertility management(ISFM) is an approach to improve crop yields,while preserving sustainable and long-term soil fertility through the combined judicious use of fertilizers,recycled organic resources,responsive crop varieties,and improved agronomic practices,which minimize nutrient losses and improve the nutrient-use efficiency of crops.Soil fertility and nutrient management studies in Ethiopia under on-station and on-farm conditions showed that the combined application of inorganic and organic fertilizers significantly increased crop yields compared to either alone in tropical agro-ecosystems.Yield benefits were more apparent when fertilizer application was accompanied by crop rotation,green manuring,or crop residue management.The combination of manure and NP fertilizer could increase wheat and faba bean grain yields by 50%–100%,whereas crop rotation with grain legumes could increase cereal grain yields by up to 200%.Although organic residues are key inputs for soil fertility management,about 85% of these residues is used for livestock feed and energy;thus,there is a need for increasing crop biomass.The main incentive for farmers to adopt ISFM practices is economic benefits.The success of ISFM also depends on research and development institutions to provide technical support,technology adoption,information dissemination,and creation of market incentives for farmers in tropical agro-ecosystems. 展开更多

River Nile is one of the longest transboundery rivers and it is shared and used by Burundi,Democratic Republic of Congo,Egypt,Ethiopia,Eritrea,Kenya,Rwanda,Sudan,Tanzania and Uganda.As of today,the Nile is a crucial resource for the economic development of the Nile Basin countries and a vital source of livelihood for 160 million inhabitants as well as 300 million people living in the 10 riparian countries.The Nile Basin Initiative(NBI) is one of the international cooperative river basin management program and regional partnership where all the Nile Basin countries except Eritrea unite to pursue long-term sustainable development,improved land use practices and management.This review therefore focused on the challenges not faced on NBI in terms of integrated use of the river and conducted analysis of strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats(SWOT) based on secondary data.The result of the review revealed that for decades,the Nile Basin people have been facing many complex environmental,social,economic and political challenges that have made it difficult for the proper management and sustainability of Nile water.The initiative provides training to develop skills in government ministries,non-governmental organizations and local communities in each country.It is also working to raise awareness of critical environmental issues by strengthening networks of environmental education practitioners;developing curriculum in the education sector.The challenges of NBI include the involvement and funding of World Bank,lack of sufficient staff,procedural and policies conflicts,lack of coordination and linkage with other regional institutions and lack of recognition as river basin organization.Considering the complex nature of the project,it is recommended that the NBI should come up with a strong multi-disciplinary monitoring and evaluation team to follow up all implemented projects.The NBI should carry out participatory land use planning in communities along the river basin.Moreover,livelihood analysis should be carried out especially in communities along the Nile to come up with poverty eradication projects which are socially acceptable,applicable,economically viable and affordable. 展开更多
