To reduce the chattering of the sliding mode controller, a modified exponential reaching law and hyperbolic tangent function are applied to the design of visual controller and robot joint controller. In the field of weapon system of systems (WSOS) simulation, various indicators are widely used to describe the capability of WSOS, but it is always difficult to describe the comprehensive capability of WSOS quickly an...In the field of weapon system of systems (WSOS) simulation, various indicators are widely used to describe the capability of WSOS, but it is always difficult to describe the comprehensive capability of WSOS quickly and intuitively by visualization of multi-dimensional indicators. A method of machine learning and visualization is proposed, which can display and analyze the capabilities of different WSOS in a two-dimensional plane. The analysis and comparison of the comprehensive capability of different components of WSOS is realized by the method, which consists of six parts: multiple simulations, key indicators mining, three spatial distance calculation, fusion project calculation, calculation of individual capability density, and calculation of multiple capability ranges overlay. Binding a simulation experiment, the collaborative analysis of six indicators and 100 possible kinds of red WSOS are achieved. The experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the quality and speed of capabilities analysis, reveal a large number of potential information, and provide a visual support for the qualitative and quantitative analysis model.展开更多

In order to reduce the disturbance from the arc and acquire clear image, two techniques were used:...The passive visual sensing method was successfully applied to monitor the weld pool in TIG welding of aluminium alloy. In order to reduce the disturbance from the arc and acquire clear image, two techniques were used: one was the own-developed computer-controlled variable polarity power(VPP), the other was the composite filter technology. The VPP source did not have high-frequency electromagnetic interference from arc stabilizer in traditional AC welding power, and its output current wave was controlled by computer, so the imaging current and the imaging time could be adjusted easily. Filter spectral window was identified at 650 nm by analyzing the measured arc light spectral distribution. At the end, the high quality and clear images of welding pool of aluminium alloy were successfully acquired at low imaging current.展开更多
The classification of the stability of surrounding rock is an uncertain system with multiple indices.The Multidimensional Cloud Model provides an advanced solution through the use of an improved model of One-dimension...The classification of the stability of surrounding rock is an uncertain system with multiple indices.The Multidimensional Cloud Model provides an advanced solution through the use of an improved model of One-dimensional Cloud Model.Setting each index as a one-dimensional attribute,the Multi-dimensional Cloud Model can set the digital characteristics of each index according to the cloud theory.The Multi-dimensional cloud generator can calculate the certainty of each grade,and then determine the stability levels of the surrounding rock according to the principle of maximum certainty.Using this model to 5 coal mine roadway surrounding rock examples and comparing the results with those of One-dimensional and Two-dimensional Cloud Models,we find that the Multi-dimensional Cloud Model can provide a more accurate solution.Since the classification results of the Multidimensional Cloud Model are difficult to be presented intuitively and visually,we reduce the Multi-dimensional Cloud Model to One-dimensional and Two-dimensional Cloud Models in order to visualize the results achieved by the Multi-dimensional Cloud Model.This approach provides a more accurate and intuitive method for the classification of the surrounding rock stability,and it can also be applied to other types of classification problems.展开更多
The ORB-SLAM2 based on the constant velocity model is difficult to determine the search window of the reprojection of map points when the objects are in variable velocity motion,which leads to a false matching,with an...The ORB-SLAM2 based on the constant velocity model is difficult to determine the search window of the reprojection of map points when the objects are in variable velocity motion,which leads to a false matching,with an inaccurate pose estimation or failed tracking.To address the challenge above,a new method of feature point matching is proposed in this paper,which combines the variable velocity model with the reverse optical flow method.First,the constant velocity model is extended to a new variable velocity model,and the expanded variable velocity model is used to provide the initial pixel shifting for the reverse optical flow method.Then the search range of feature points is accurately determined according to the results of the reverse optical flow method,thereby improving the accuracy and reliability of feature matching,with strengthened interframe tracking effects.Finally,we tested on TUM data set based on the RGB-D camera.Experimental results show that this method can reduce the probability of tracking failure and improve localization accuracy on SLAM(Simultaneous Localization and Mapping)systems.Compared with the traditional ORB-SLAM2,the test error of this method on each sequence in the TUM data set is significantly reduced,and the root mean square error is only 63.8%of the original system under the optimal condition.展开更多

Studies have shown that spatial attention remarkably affects the trial-to-trial response variability shared between neurons.Difficulty in the attentional task adjusts how much concentration we maintain on what is curr...Studies have shown that spatial attention remarkably affects the trial-to-trial response variability shared between neurons.Difficulty in the attentional task adjusts how much concentration we maintain on what is currently important and what is filtered as irrelevant sensory information.However,how task difficulty mediates the interactions between neurons with separated receptive fields(RFs)that are attended to or attended away is still not clear.We examined spike count correlations between single-unit activities recorded simultaneously in the primary visual cortex(V1)while monkeys performed a spatial attention task with two levels of difficulty.Moreover,the RFs of the two neurons recorded were non-overlapping to allow us to study fluctuations in the correlated responses between competing visual inputs when the focus of attention was allocated to the RF of one neuron.While increasing difficulty in the spatial attention task,spike count correlations were either decreased to become negative between neuronal pairs,implying competition among them,with one neuron(or none)exhibiting attentional enhancement of firing rate,or increased to become positive,suggesting inter-neuronal cooperation,with one of the pair showing attentional suppression of spiking responses.Besides,the modulation of spike count correlations by task difficulty was independent of the attended locations.These findings provide evidence that task difficulty affects the functional interactions between different neuronal pools in V1 when selective attention resolves the spatial competition.展开更多
Exploration of artworks is enjoyable but often time consuming.For example,it is not always easy to discover the favorite types of unknown painting works.It is not also always easy to explore unpopular painting works w...Exploration of artworks is enjoyable but often time consuming.For example,it is not always easy to discover the favorite types of unknown painting works.It is not also always easy to explore unpopular painting works which looks similar to painting works created by famous artists.This paper presents a painting image browser which assists the explorative discovery of user-interested painting works.The presented browser applies a new multidimensional data visualization technique that highlights particular ranges of particular numeric values based on association rules to suggest cues to find favorite painting images.This study assumes a large number of painting images are provided where categorical information(e.g.,names of artists,created year)is assigned to the images.The presented system firstly calculates the feature values of the images as a preprocessing step.Then the browser visualizes the multidimensional feature values as a heatmap and highlights association rules discovered from the relationships between the feature values and categorical information.This mechanism enables users to explore favorite painting images or painting images that look similar to famous painting works.Our case study and user evaluation demonstrates the effectiveness of the presented image browser.展开更多
Background:Athletes tend to have better visuo-motor performance than do sedentary individuals.However,several basic visual-function and perceptual parameters remain unexplored to date.In this study,we investigated whe...Background:Athletes tend to have better visuo-motor performance than do sedentary individuals.However,several basic visual-function and perceptual parameters remain unexplored to date.In this study,we investigated whether differences exist in visual function,performance,and processing between basketball players and individuals without a sport-involvement background.Methods:A total of 33 healthy men with no visual impairment or pathology were divided into 2 groups,depending on the involvement in sport(semi-professional basketball players and sedentary individuals).We tested their baseline heart-rate variability in the resting position apart from subjective questionnaires to determine their physical fitness level,and we checked their visual function,performance,and processing through an extended battery of optometric tests.Results:The 2 groups differed in resting heart-rate variability parameters(p<0.001),confirming their dissimilarities in regular time practising sports per week.The basketball players showed a closer breakpoint and recovery nearpoint of convergence,a higher fusional-vergence rate,better discriminability halos,and better eye-hand coordination(all p values<0.05).Conclusion:These results show evidence that athletes,basketball players in this case,exhibit better performance in several visual abilities in comparison to a group of individuals without sporting backgrounds,suggesting an improvement due to the systematic involvement of those skills during basketball practice.展开更多
AIM:To report on the utilization of eye care services and its associated factors among those with unilateral visual impairment(VI)in a rural South Indian population.METHODS:A population based cross-sectional study...AIM:To report on the utilization of eye care services and its associated factors among those with unilateral visual impairment(VI)in a rural South Indian population.METHODS:A population based cross-sectional study was conducted in three districts(Adilabad,Mahbubnagar and West Godavari)in the state of Andhra Pradesh,India.A detailed interview and a comprehensive eye examination were conducted. Those with unilateral VI were asked questions about noticing any change in vision and on utilization of eye care services. The most important reason reported by the participant for not utilizing the services was used for the analysis. Multiple logistic regression models were used to examine the association between noticing a change in vision and socio-demographic variables such as age,gender,education and area of residence,severity and causes of VI.RESULTS:Among the 4456 participants aged ≥16y who were administered the questionnaire,53.2% were women,and 54.7% had no education. Of the 489(11%; 95% CI:10.1-11.9)people with unilateral VI,399(81.6%)participants reported noticing a change in their vision over the last five years but only 136(34.1%)participants had soughteye care consultation. Those who had any education(OR:1.9; 95% CI:1.1-3.2),had blindness(OR:2.7; 95% CI:1.4-5.2),and cataract(OR:2.1; 95% CI:1.0-4.3)as a cause of unilateral VI were more like to seek eye care consultations. The most commonly reported reasons for not seeking eye care services were "do not have money for eye checkup" in 30.7% of the participants followed by "do not have a serious problem"(30.0%).CONCLUSION:A large proportion of rural population though noticed a change in their vision did not seek eye care due to financial and person-related reasons. Eye care service providers need to address these barriers to enhance the uptake of eye care services among those with unilateral VI.展开更多

This paper discusses the ubiquitous map visualization from the object content and expression form. Oriented to the ternary space, it divides the object dimension of ubiquitous map visualization and analyzes the expression characteristics of ubiquitous map visualization. Based on that, it constructs the variable system, symbol system and method system of ubiquitous map visualization. With three cases of the metro roadmap, the tag map, and the three-dimensional (3D) city map, the application of the proposed content is explained to illustrate its effectiveness. The research in this paper is expected to further enrich the theoretical basis of cartographic visualization and provide theoretical support for the expression and application of ubiquitous map visualization.展开更多
