Aiming at the problems of increasing uncertainty of low-carbon generation energy in active distribution network(ADN)and the difficulty of security assessment of distribution network,this paper proposes a two-phase sch...Aiming at the problems of increasing uncertainty of low-carbon generation energy in active distribution network(ADN)and the difficulty of security assessment of distribution network,this paper proposes a two-phase scheduling model for flexible resources in ADN based on probabilistic risk perception.First,a full-cycle probabilistic trend sequence is constructed based on the source-load historical data,and in the day-ahead scheduling phase,the response interval of the flexibility resources on the load and storage side is optimized based on the probabilistic trend,with the probability of the security boundary as the security constraint,and with the economy as the objective.Then in the intraday phase,the core security and economic operation boundary of theADNis screened in real time.Fromthere,it quantitatively senses the degree of threat to the core security and economic operation boundary under the current source-load prediction information,and identifies the strictly secure and low/high-risk time periods.Flexibility resources within the response interval are dynamically adjusted in real-time by focusing on high-risk periods to cope with future core risks of the distribution grid.Finally,the improved IEEE 33-node distribution system is simulated to obtain the flexibility resource scheduling scheme on the load and storage side.Thescheduling results are evaluated from the perspectives of risk probability and flexible resource utilization efficiency,and the analysis shows that the scheduling model in this paper can promote the consumption of low-carbon energy from wind and photovoltaic sourceswhile reducing the operational risk of the distribution network.展开更多

Face-to-face interviews(n=860) were conducted to determine cash-gift behavior, cognition and complexity of social relations, and family water consumption for agricultural production in a typical oasis area in Northwes...Face-to-face interviews(n=860) were conducted to determine cash-gift behavior, cognition and complexity of social relations, and family water consumption for agricultural production in a typical oasis area in Northwest China. The survey results revealed cash gifts to be the second-largest expenditure(1,330 Yuan) for rural households, far beyond the average spending on health(854.1 Yuan) or education(890.8 Yuan). The amount of cash-gift expenditures indirectly reflects a family's social relations level, and our developed Social Relations Extent Coefficient—based on cash-gift and food expenditures—can directly reflect the extent or level of these relationships. Different types of farmers or farming families have different coefficients. The coefficient also shows how social station affects a family's water resource utilization, and how water is distributed among different types of farmers. Despite the current inequities, however, promotion of better agricultural techniques and large-scale cultivation in this area could help distribute water resources more equitably and effectively.展开更多
This study examines local people's perception of forest resources (FR) conservation around two plantation forest reserves (PFR) and two natural forest reserves (NFR) in Ekiti State in order to determine the fac...This study examines local people's perception of forest resources (FR) conservation around two plantation forest reserves (PFR) and two natural forest reserves (NFR) in Ekiti State in order to determine the factors that can contribute to sustainable FR conservation. Questionnaire and interview were used to collect data from 240 respondents. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. 75.0% and 86.1% of respondents around PFR recognized the importance of conserving the FR for economic benefits and biodiversity respectively, while 66.7% would not want the FR conserved for cultural values. 82.9% of respondents around NFR would want the FR conserved for economic benefits, while 74.3% and 66.7% would not want the forest conserved for cultural values and biodiversity respectively. For efficient conservation, participation in forest management and involvement in decision making with means of 3.45 and 3.52 ranked highest in PFR and NFR respectively. Probit regression analysis showed that in PFR and NFR, age, education and income were positively significant to FR conservation (p 〈 0.05). Creating an enabling environment that will make local people appreciate historical cultural values of the forest for tourism is essential for efficient FR conservation in the study area.展开更多
In the realm of autonomous driving,cooperative perception serves as a crucial technology for mitigating the inherent constraints of individual vehicle’s perception.To enable cooperative perception,vehicleto-vehicle(V...In the realm of autonomous driving,cooperative perception serves as a crucial technology for mitigating the inherent constraints of individual vehicle’s perception.To enable cooperative perception,vehicleto-vehicle(V2V)communication plays an indispensable role.Unfortunately,owing to weak virus protection in V2V networks,the emergence and widespread adoption of V2V communications have also created fertile soil for the breeding and rapid spreading of worms.To stimulate vehicles to participate in cooperative perception while blocking the spreading of worms through V2V communications,we design an incentive mechanism,in which the utility of each sensory data requester and that of each sensory data provider are defined,respectively,to maximize the total utility of all the vehicles.To deal with the highly non-convex problem,we propose a pairing and resource allocation(PRA)scheme based on the Stackelberg game theory.Specifically,we decompose the problem into two subproblems.The subproblem of maximizing the utility of the requester is solved via a two-stage iterative algorithm,while the subproblem of maximizing the utility of the provider is addressed using the linear search method.The results demonstrate that our proposed PRA approach addresses the challenges of cooperative perception and worm spreading while efficiently converging to the Stackelberg equilibrium point,jointly maximizing the utilities for both the requester and the provider.展开更多

Through integrating advanced communication and data processing technologies into smart vehicles and roadside infrastructures,the Intelligent Transportation System(ITS)has evolved as a promising paradigm for improving ...Through integrating advanced communication and data processing technologies into smart vehicles and roadside infrastructures,the Intelligent Transportation System(ITS)has evolved as a promising paradigm for improving safety,efficiency of the transportation system.However,the strict delay requirement of the safety-related applications is still a great challenge for the ITS,especially in dense traffic environment.In this paper,we introduce the metric called Perception-Reaction Time(PRT),which reflects the time consumption of safety-related applications and is closely related to road efficiency and security.With the integration of the incorporating information-centric networking technology and the fog virtualization approach,we propose a novel fog resource scheduling mechanism to minimize the PRT.Furthermore,we adopt a deep reinforcement learning approach to design an on-line optimal resource allocation scheme.Numerical results demonstrate that our proposed schemes is able to reduce about 70%of the RPT compared with the traditional approach.展开更多

Over hundred randomly s...The farmers’ perception of climate change and their response was documented in Maruf Kebele of Central Oromia, Ethiopia with questionnaire survey, focus group discussion and field observation. Over hundred randomly selected households were included;the community typically includes a large proportion of small holder farmers from poorly equipped, land scarce households with low education and economic status. The results indicated that farmers had a good understanding and perception of the impacts of climate change at the local level;many negative impacts of the climate irregularity had been identified by the community, like reduced crop yield, heating/drying up of environment and soil loss affecting natural plant regeneration from the forest soil seed bank, drying up of streams and springs, disappearance of trees and plants, rarity of wild animals and increasing pests/diseases. Farmers were observed to diversify their livelihood options as part of responding to irregularities in the local weather and adopting a number of steps to change agricultural practices. The results indicate the importance of understanding of community perception in designing policies and projects for effective adaptation strategies allowing local participation to cope with the impacts of climate change.展开更多

The paper focuses on exploring the relationships between tourists’ authentic perceptions and authenticity-based tourism development of world heritage. Through the empirical study on the Forbidden City in Beijing, we find that the relationships between the above two factors can be simulated by the model of set theory in algebra. As a result, five types of set relationships are proposed: “separation relation”, “intersection relation”, “inclusion relation I”,“inclusion relation II” and “superposition relation”. According to sample distribution rules, the set relationships can be further divided into primary set relationships and secondary set relationships. The study on set relationships based on demographic characteristic of tourists by using two-way analysis of variance method shows that the tourists in different groups of gender, ages, levels of education, visit frequencies and levels of early perspectives have different perceptions for the set relationships. The ifndings in this paper are helpful for identifying effects of the authenticity-based exploitation of world heritage resources and proposing future strategies for world heritage resources from tourists’ authentic perspectives.展开更多
