The rapid detection of microparticles exhibits a broad range of applications in the field of science and technology.The proposed method differentiates and identifies the 2μm and 5μm sized particles using a laser light scattering.The detection method is based on measuring forward light scattering from the particles and then classifying the acquired data using support vector machines.The device is composed of a microfluidic chip linked with photosensors and a laser device using optical fiber.Connecting the photosensors and laser device using optical fibers makes the device more diminutive in size and portable.The prepared sample containing microspheres was passed through the channel,and the surrounding photosensors measured the scattered light.The time-domain features were evaluated from the acquired scattered light,and then the SVM classifier was trained to distinguish the particle’s data.The real-time detection of the particles was performed with an overall classification accuracy of 96.06%.The optimum conditions were evaluated to detect the particles with a minimum concentration of 0.2μg/m L.The developed system is anticipated to be helpful in developing rapid testing devices for detecting pathogens ranging between 2μm to 10μm. 展开更多

The cellulose diacetate molecules can form micelles and micellar clusters in acetone besides the individual chains. As the concentration increases, the average hydrodynamic radius (Rh) linearly increases, whereas the ratio of gyration radius to hydrodynamic radins 〈Rg〉/〈Rh〉 linearly decreases. It indicates that the micelles associate and form micellar clusters due to the intermolecular interactions. 展开更多

Differential area ω and surface activity Sa were estimated from photomicrographs. The ω vs dT/dt (rate of heating) curve was seen to differ from those of silver and titanium. The nature of curve between normalized ω and dT/dt was seen to be non-exponential. The characteristic relation between sectorized differential area ωsec and mean temperature was examined. The present study further establishes the simplicity and versatility of the VTLLS technique, in studying the defect-sub-structure of metal particles such as Au and Zn in presence of an imposed temperature gradient in a reasonable way. As such an attempt was made to connect the ω and defect-sub-structure related parameters. 展开更多

The rapid identification of pathogens is crucial in controlling the food quality and safety.The proposed system for the rapid and label-free identification of pathogens is based on the principle of laser scattering from the bacterial microbes.The clinical prototype consists of three parts:the laser beam,photodetectors,and the data acquisition system.The bacterial testing sample was mixed with 10 mL distilled water and placed inside the machine chamber.When the bacterial microbes pass by the laser beam,the scattering of light occurs due to variation in size,shape,and morphology.Due to this reason,different types of pathogens show their unique light scattering patterns.The photo-detectors were arranged at the surroundings of the sample at different angles to collect the scattered light.The photodetectors convert the scattered light intensity into a voltage waveform.The waveform features were acquired by using the power spectral characteristics,and the dimensionality of extracted features was reduced by applying minimal-redundancy-maximal-relevance criterion(mRMR).A support vector machine(SVM)classifier was developed by training the selected power spectral features for the classification of three different bacterial microbes.The resulting average identification accuracies of E.faecalis,E.coli and S.aureus were 99%,87%,and 94%,respectively.The ove rall experimental results yield a higher accuracy of 93.6%,indicating that the proposed device has the potential for label-free identification of pathogens with simplicity,rapidity,and cost-effectiveness. 展开更多

These hollow capsules were characterized by laser light scattering (LLS) used to measure the size of the capsules in solution. The ratio of hydrodynamic radius (R h ) from dynamic LLS to the radius of gyration (Rg) from static LLS is almost unity, revealing that the entities are hollow in solution. The results suggest that the LLS method can be regarded as a good complement to the confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) method for the characterization of small hollow capsules, and it possesses the advantage of not needing fluorescence labeling. 展开更多

Durable press finishing of cotton fabrics with polycarboxylic acid increases fabric wrinkle-resistance at the expense of its mechanical strength. Severe tensile strength loss is the major disadvantage for wrinkle resistant cotton fabrics.Tensile strength loss of cotton fabric crosslinked by a polycarboxylic acid can be attributed to depolymerization and crosslink of cellulose molecules. Measurement of the molecular weight of cotton fabric before and after crosslinked by polycarboxylic acids can offer a possibility of direct understanding of the depolymerization. In this research, amultiple angle laser light scattering photometer was used todetermine the absolute molecular weight of cotton fabric treated with BTCA at different pH and then hydrolyzed with 0. 5 M NaOH solution at 50℃ for 144 h. The results indicate that average molecular weights of cotton fabric treated with polycarboxylic acids at different pH are almost the same. 展开更多

目的:建立体积排阻色谱-多角度激光光散射-示差折光检测器联用(SEC-MALLS-RI)法测定聚乙二醇钠钾散中聚乙二醇3350(PEG 3350)的绝对分子量,并对比体积排阻色谱-电喷雾检测器联用(SECCAD)方法在分子量表征上的差异。方法:采用Shodex Ohpa... 目的:建立体积排阻色谱-多角度激光光散射-示差折光检测器联用(SEC-MALLS-RI)法测定聚乙二醇钠钾散中聚乙二醇3350(PEG 3350)的绝对分子量,并对比体积排阻色谱-电喷雾检测器联用(SECCAD)方法在分子量表征上的差异。方法:采用Shodex Ohpak SB-803 HQ色谱柱(300 mm×8.0 mm,6μm),柱温30℃,以0.2 mol·L^(-1)氯化钠溶液为流动相,流速0.5 mL·min^(-1),折光增量指数(dn/dc)为0.132 mL·g^(-1)。结果:PEG的折光增量指数(dn/dc)在分子量1000~6000范围内相对稳定,均值为0.1309 mL·g^(-1),RSD为1.6%,且在不同溶剂下测定,结果均一致,RSD为0.44%;SEC-MALLS-RI法的精密度与重复性RSD分别为0.74%、0.67%,在不同温度及色谱柱下分子量测定结果均无显著性差异(P>0.05),具有较好的耐用性;采用SEC-MALLS-RI法测定样品的绝对分子量结果小于SEC-CAD法测得的相对分子质量结果,但使用SEC-MALLS-RI法对用于柱体积校正的PEG分子量对照品峰分子量(Mp)进行标定后,相对分子质量测定结果与绝对分子量结果无显著性差异(P>0.05)。结论:SEC-MALLS-RI法不依赖于分子量对照品,操作更简便,方法稳定可控,使用经SEC-MALLS法标定的分子量对照品在应用传统的GPC法表征分子量时,可获得接近绝对分子量的测定结果。 展开更多

A circulating flow system consisting of a transparent U-bend flow loop, a mixing tank and a laser granulometer was set up for studying the kinetics hydrate formation and the pressure is up to 4 MPa. Refrigerant CCl2F2 (R12) hydrate formation experiments were performed using laser light scattering method at 277.1 K and pressures of 0.24 and 0.32 MPa. The liquid flow rates were in the range of 300—1400 L/h. The size distribution and density of R12 hydrate particles in pure water were measured using a laser granulometer. Experimental results show that the size of hydrate particles increases sharply at the initial stage and approaches gradually to a stable size. The hydrate particle concentration in the aqueous phase increases with pressure and circulating liquid flow rate. Based on the material balance, the mathematical model among gas consumption, average hydrate particle size and shading ratio has been established. The calculated results using the mathematical model accord well with the experimental gas consumption data. 展开更多

Surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS) has been widely used as an effective technique for lowconcentration molecules detections in the past decades. This work proposes a rapid and accessible process to fabricate SERS-active substrates with high uniformity and controllability based on two-step laser ablation. Laser beams directly ablate the surface of Si, concurrently creating microstructures and ejecting molten materials caused by the thermal effect that nucleate in ambient air. The nuclei grow into nanoparticles and deposit over the surface. These nanoparticles,together with microstructures, improve the light collection efficiency of the SERS-active substrates. Especially after Au thin film deposition, these nanoparticles can provide nanogaps as hotspots for SERS. By orthogonal experiment design,laser processing parameters for better performances are determined. Compared with substrates fabricated by single 1064 nm master oscillator power amplifier(MOPA) laser ablation, substrates ablated by the primary 1064 nm MOPA laser and secondary UV pulsed laser show more uniform nanoparticles’ deposition over the surface. The optimized largearea substrate has a SERS detection limit of 10^(-8)mol/L for 4-aminothiophenol(4-ATP), indicating the potential realworld applications for trace detection. 展开更多

土壤胶体的聚沉特征与土壤肥力和抗蚀能力密切相关,临界聚沉浓度是评判颗粒凝聚和分散的关键参数。快速准确测定土壤胶体的临界聚沉浓度对于评估土壤质量具有重要意义。通过测定蒙脱石、棕壤和胡敏酸胶体3种颗粒表面zeta电位随离子浓度... 土壤胶体的聚沉特征与土壤肥力和抗蚀能力密切相关,临界聚沉浓度是评判颗粒凝聚和分散的关键参数。快速准确测定土壤胶体的临界聚沉浓度对于评估土壤质量具有重要意义。通过测定蒙脱石、棕壤和胡敏酸胶体3种颗粒表面zeta电位随离子浓度的变化趋势,结合分段线性拟合,进而评估其临界聚沉浓度;同时,用动态激光光散射法验证zeta电位法测定临界聚沉浓度的可行性。结果表明:(1)各体系中颗粒zeta电位绝对值均随电解质浓度的升高而降低,且在相对较低的电解质浓度范围内降低迅速,相对较高浓度范围内变化趋缓。(2)通过zeta电位法评估得到恒电荷表面为主的蒙脱石和棕壤胶体在钾和钙离子体系中的临界聚沉浓度与动态激光光散射法所测结果基本一致。(3)通过zeta电位法评估得到可变电荷表面为主的胡敏酸在钾和钙离子体系中的临界聚沉浓度与动态激光光散射法所测结果差别较大。因此,可利用zeta电位法快速准确地测定以恒电荷为主的蒙脱石、棕壤胶体颗粒的临界聚沉浓度。相较于光散射法,zeta电位法操作简便,所需样品量小、效率高。而对于以可变电荷为主的胡敏酸胶体颗粒,无法通过zeta电位法精确评估得到其临界聚沉浓度。 展开更多

三嵌段共聚物(TTPs)在稀溶液中经分级自组装形成多隔室胶束(MCMs)的过程,通常包括TTPs分子链自组装形成星形胶束、星形胶束自组装形成MCMs两个主要步骤,其中前一步骤理论上存在单级自组装或分级自组装两种未被阐明的可能途径。选择非晶... 三嵌段共聚物(TTPs)在稀溶液中经分级自组装形成多隔室胶束(MCMs)的过程,通常包括TTPs分子链自组装形成星形胶束、星形胶束自组装形成MCMs两个主要步骤,其中前一步骤理论上存在单级自组装或分级自组装两种未被阐明的可能途径。选择非晶态TTPs聚苯乙烯-b-聚丁二烯-b-聚甲基丙烯酸甲酯(PS-b-PB-b-PMMA,SBM)为模型分子,通过溶剂交换的方法使SBM在稀溶液中自组装,采用动态及静态光散射技术对SBM自组装形成星形胶束进一步自组装形成MCMs的过程进行实时、动态表征,并结合透射电镜(TEM)辅助测试结果进行分析。研究结果表明,SBM在稀溶液中自组装形成星形胶束的途径是直接由SBM链团/网经单级自组装途径形成星型胶束,而不是存在单链或多链胶束等过渡形态的分级自组装途径。SBM稀溶液浓度对该自组装途径无明显影响,该自组装过程在12 h内已达到动态平衡。研究结果可为多组分嵌段共聚物在稀溶液中自组装过程的热力学和动力学研究、光散射技术在高分子溶液表征中的应用提供参考。 展开更多

目的:建立体积排阻色谱-示差折光-多角度激光光散射检测器联用(SEC-RI-MALLS)法与体积排阻色谱-示差折光检测器(SEC-RID)法测定丙交酯乙交酯共聚物(Poly(Lactide-co-Glycolide Acid),PLGA)相对分子质量及相对分子质量分布,并对两种方法... 目的:建立体积排阻色谱-示差折光-多角度激光光散射检测器联用(SEC-RI-MALLS)法与体积排阻色谱-示差折光检测器(SEC-RID)法测定丙交酯乙交酯共聚物(Poly(Lactide-co-Glycolide Acid),PLGA)相对分子质量及相对分子质量分布,并对两种方法的测定结果进行比较。方法:采用SEC-RI-MALLS法时,以四氢呋喃为流动相,以Shodex GPC KF-803L为色谱分离柱,以四氢呋喃为流动相,流速为1 mL·min^(-1),柱温为30℃,进样体积为100μL。采用SEC-RID法时,以四氢呋喃为流动相,以Agilent PLgel 5μm MIXD-D为色谱柱,以四氢呋喃为流动相,流速为1 mL·min^(-1),柱温为30℃,示差折光检测器温度为35℃,进样体积为20μL,使用Agilent公司GPC软件计算相对分子质量及相对分子质量的分布。对新建立的方法进行方法学验证,并采用新建方法对13批样品的相对分子质量和相对分子质量分布进行测定。结果:SEC-RI-MALLS法的精密度、准确性、稳定性、重复性试验RSD分别为1.35%、1.58%、1.53%、1.26%;SEC-RID法线性良好(r^(2)=0.9999),精密度、准确性、稳定性、重复性试验(n=6)RSD分别为2.05%、1.62%、1.30%、2.97%。SEC-RI-MALLS法的测定值比SEC-RID法的小;将SEC-RI-MALLS法测定值乘以转换系数1.5后,与SEC-RID法的测定值进行配对t检验,结果显示两种方法无显著性差异。结论:建立的两种方法均可用于PLGA相对分子质量及相对分子质量分布的测定,在实际应用过程中,可根据不同的应用场景选择适宜的方法。 展开更多

该文建立了一种用离子液体作促溶剂,凝胶渗透色谱与多角度静态激光光散射联用技术(GPCMALS)检测棉花纤维素分子量的方法。棉花样品经NaOH处理后,以离子液体作促溶剂,N,N-二甲基乙酰胺(DMAc)作溶剂进行溶解。通过比较4种离子液体的溶解效... 该文建立了一种用离子液体作促溶剂,凝胶渗透色谱与多角度静态激光光散射联用技术(GPCMALS)检测棉花纤维素分子量的方法。棉花样品经NaOH处理后,以离子液体作促溶剂,N,N-二甲基乙酰胺(DMAc)作溶剂进行溶解。通过比较4种离子液体的溶解效果,发现1-丁基-3-甲基咪唑乙酸(BmimAc)的效果最好。使用BmimAc/DMAc溶剂体系,在不同温度下溶解棉花,结果表明,50~80℃下溶解后测得的分子量结果接近,且不确定度低,结果可靠。以BmimAc为添加剂,DMAc为助溶剂,DMAc和0.1 mol/L无水LiBr为流动相,采用GPC-MALS实现了对棉花纤维素分子量的绝对测定和分布分析,为纤维素分子量的检测提供了实验参考,为棉花纤维素的有效利用提供了依据。 展开更多

We investigate the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) properties of light beams carrying orbit angular momentum (OAM). The phase conjugation of light beams carrying OAM is experimentally achieved in an SBS mirror with a random phase plate. The spectrum and the pulse width compression of SBS light are measured. It is shown that the phenomena of pulse compression is observed and OAM conservation is confirmed in the SBS process. The OAM transfer from photons to phonons may find potential applications in photon-phonon conversion-based signal-processing schemes by using OAM multiplexing. 展开更多
