Currently, it is able to emulate singlethreaded programs. We extend mc211vm to emulate multi-threaded programs. Our main task is to reconstruct its architecture for multi-threaded programs. Register mapping, code cache management, and address mapping in mc2llvm have all been modified. In addition, to further speed up the emulation, we collect hot paths, aggressively optimize and generate code for them at run time. Additional threads are used to alleviate the overhead. Thus, when the same hot path is walked through again, the corresponding optimized native code will be executed instead. In our experiments, our system is 8.8X faster than QEMU (quick emulator) on average when emulating the specified benchmarks with 8 vip threads. 展开更多

Owing to the long propagation delay and high error rate of acoustic channels, it is very challenging to provide reliable data transfer for underwater sensor networks. Moreover, network coding is proved to be an effective coding technique for throughput and robustness of networks. In this paper, we propose a Reliable Braided Multipath Routing with Network Coding for underwater sensor networks (RBMR-NC). Disjoint multi-path algorithm is used to build independent actual paths, as called main paths. Some braided paths on each main path are built according to the braided multi-path algorithm, which are called logic paths. When a data packet is transmitted by these nodes, the nodes can employ network coding to encode packets coming from the same group in order to further reduce relativity among these packets, and enhance the probability of successful decoding at the sink node. Braided multi-path can make the main paths to be multiplexed to reduce the probability of long paths. This paper mainly employs successful delivery rate to evaluate RBMR-NC model with theoretical analysis and simulation methods. The results indicate that the proposed RBMR-NC protocol is valuable to enhance network reliability and to reduce system redundancy. 展开更多

Airborne networks(ANs) are special types of ad hoc networks that can be used to enhance situational awareness, flight coordination and flight efficiency in civil and military aviation.Compared to ground networks, ANs have some unique attributes including high node mobility, frequent topology changes, mechanical and aerodynamic constrains, strict safety requirements and harsh communication environment.Thus, the performance of conventional transmission control protocol(TCP) will be dramatically degraded in ANs.Aircraft commonly have two or more heterogeneous network interfaces which offer an opportunity to form multiple communication paths between any two nodes in ANs.To satisfy the communication requirements in ANs, we propose aeronautical multipath transport protocol(Aero MTP) for ANs, which effectively utilizes the available bandwidth and diversity provided by heterogeneous wireless paths.Aero MTP uses fountain codes as forward error correction(FEC) codes to recover from data loss and deploys a TCP-friendly rate-based congestion control mechanism for each path.Moreover, we design a packet allocation algorithm based on optimization to minimize the delivery time of blocks.The performance of Aero MTP is evaluated through OMNe T++ simulations under a variety of test scenarios.Simulations demonstrate that Aero MTP is of great potential to be applied to ANs. 展开更多

A multi-path routing algorithm based on network coding is proposed for combating long propagation delay and high bit error rate of space information networks. On the basis of traditional multi-path routing, the algorithm uses a random linear network coding strategy to code data pack- ets. Code number is determined by the next hop link status and the number of current received packets sent by the upstream node together. The algorithm improves retransmission and cache mechanisms through using redundancy caused by network coding. Meanwhile, the algorithm also adopts the flow distribution strategy based on time delay to balance network load. Simulation results show that the proposed routing algorithm can effectively improve packet delivery rate, reduce packet delay, and enhance network performance. 展开更多

In this paper, we focus on the design of irregular QC-LDPC code based multi-level coded modulation(MLCM) scheme by jointly optimizing the component code rate and the degree distribution of the irregular QC-LDPC component code. Firstly, the sub-channel capacities of MLCM systems is analyzed and discussed, based on which the optimal component code rate can be obtained. Secondly, an extrinsic information transfer chart based two-stage searching algorithm is proposed to find the good irregular QC-LDPC code ensembles with optimal component code rates for their corresponding sub-channels. Finally, by constructing the irregular QC-LDPC component codes from the designed ensembles with the aim of possibly enlarging the girth and reducing the number of the shortest cycles, the designed irregular QC-LDPC code based 16QAM and 64QAM MLCM systems can achieve 0.4 dB and 1.2 dB net coding gain, respectively, compared with the recently proposed regular QC-LDPC code based 16QAM and 64QAM MLCM systems. 展开更多

Flood Risk Code Mapping Using Multi Criteria Assessment

Flash flood is a dangers natural disaster causes lots of structure damage, traffic collapse, economic defects and human life loss. An efficient way to reduce its effects is preparing flash flood mapping to identify zones at risk due to flood. Flash flood mapping is a powerful tool for urban planners, traffic and infrastructure engineers, emergency and rescue services. This article proposes an approach utilizes remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS) to prepare flood risk code (FRC) map for Jeddah city, Saudi Arabia. The proposed approach applied the Curve Number (CN) method of flood modelling and uses runoff depth, land use, soil hydrological parameters, surface slope, and longest flow path to generate FRC. SPOT satellite image of the study area was classified to generate land use map, Digital Elevation Model (DEM) was used for generating slope map and for hydrology analysis using HEC-GeoHMS tool, and soil properties were generated from scanned soil maps. All data were integrated in ArcGIS 10.4.1 to prepare the final flood risk map. The results show that a precipitation of 106.3 mm will generate 136.5 million m3 of flood water. The results according to the developed flood risk code show that due to this amount of precipitation, about 1 million people live in Jeddah are prone to extreme flood risk and about 2 million of population are at major risk, the rest of population (about 0.5 million) are vulnerable to moderate to minor fold risk. The approach was verified using ground truth data and proofed precision. 展开更多

Spatial partition algorithm use equidistant network divide the bounding box into equal-sized cubes, calculates the maximum and minimum distances between the sample point and each of the small cubes,taking the minimum value from the maximum distance as the minimum distance from the sample point to the model named d1, comparing d1 with the distance from sample point to every little cube's minimum distance d2, if d1 <d2, the sample point's distance to all triangles inside this cube are greater than d1, skip this cube, otherwise, calculated the distance from the point to all the triangles intersect with the cube, then alternative d1 with the minimum value, circulate all small cubes intersect with the model. Comparing the calculation results, it can be seen that the algorithm about the multi-threaded distance field relative to the other two algorithms in computational speed is greatly improved especially for complex models. 展开更多

Firstly, the design background and hardware structure are briefly described. Then aiming at the multi task parallelism considering real time measurement of parameters and real time control of the system in the tester testing, a real time muhi task control software is developed by using multi thread testing technology in parallel test to realize multi task complex control. Finally, the least squares method is used to improve the test accuracyof the tester. The test results show that the test error is basically within 0.3%, and the test speed can reach 345 point/min. 展开更多

The protocol increases sending redundancy by LT codes to improve the success rate of file delivery, and adopts different protective strategies for different situations of packet loss. At the same time, the multi-file united delivery strategy is adopted to make full use of the retransmission time to reduce the end-toend transmission delay. Furthermore, the protocol determines the quantity of encoded packets according to the feedback for controlling redundancy. The simulation results show that the proposed protocol can significantly reduce the transmission delay of files, which would be effectively suitable for deep space communication environment of high BER and long delay. 展开更多

However, traditional channel capacity theories and coding schemes are seldom designed for the real-time streams with strict delay constraint, especially in multi-channel context. This paper considers a real-time stream system, where real-time messages with different importance should be transmitted through several packet erasure channels, and be decoded by the receiver within a fixed delay. Based on window erasure channels and i.i.d.(identically and independently distributed) erasure channels, we derive the Multi-channel Real-time Stream Transmission(MRST) capacity models for Symmetric Real-time(SR) streams and Asymmetric Real-time(AR) streams respectively. Moreover, for window erasures, a Maximum Equilibrium Intra-session Code(MEIC) is presented for SR and AR streams, and is shown able to asymptotically achieve the theoretical MRST capacity. For i.i.d. erasures, we propose an Adaptive Maximum Equilibrium Intra-session Code(AMEIC), and then prove AMEIC can closely approach the MRST transmission capacity. Finally, the performances of the proposed codes are verified by simulations. 展开更多

Efficiently suppor... Broadcasting is used as a building block in many MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) routing protocols. In addition, broadcasting is a key primitive in ad hoc networks to support group-based applications. Efficiently supporting broadcasting in multihop wireless networks is therefore important. In this paper, we compare ef-ficient broadcasting protocols based on packet forwarding with those based on network coding. Using a number of network scenarios, we derive lower bounds for the required number of packet retransmissions at the MAC layer to support broadcast with and without applying network coding techniques. We compare these lower bounds with each other, as well as with protocols proposed for each approach. More specifically, we use SMF and PDP as sample forwarding-based broadcast protocols, and a simple XOR-based coding protocol over SMF and PDP as representative network coding solution. The results show that neither packet forwarding protocols nor network coding protocols achieve the theoretical lower bounds, in particular as the size of the network area (at constant density) increases. The comparison of the lower bounds also shows that network coding does have a potential performance advantage over packet forwarding solutions for broad-casting in multi-hop wireless networks, in particular for larger fixed density networks, justifying its inherent increased complexity. 展开更多

This paper indicates that there exists a theoretical bound in the performance of its circulating correlation property, which is given by an explicit expression. Based on this analysis, a criterion of maximizing entropy is proposed to design such codes. Computer simulation result suggests that the resulted codes outperform the conventional binary balanced Gold codes for an asynchronous CDMA system. 展开更多
