The higher-order theory for FGMs (HOTFGM) is a coupled approach that explicitly takes the effect of micro-structural gradation and the local interaction of the spatially variable inclusion phase into account. Based on the HOTFGM, this article presents a quadrilateral element-based method for the calculation of multi-scale temperature field (QTF). In this method, the discrete cells are quadrilateral including rectangular while the surface-averaged quantities are the primary variables which replace the coefficients employed in the temperature function. In contrast with the HOTFGM, this method improves the efficiency, eliminates the restriction of being rectangular cells and expands the solution scale. The presented results illustrate the efficiency of the QTF and its advantages in analyzing FGMs.展开更多

These engineering disturbances are important factors that would alter the natural evolutionary processes or change the multi-field interactions in the rock masses from their initial equilibrium states. The concept of generalized multi-field couplings was proposed by placing particular emphasis on the role of engineering disturbances in traditional multi-field couplings in rock masses. A mathematical model was then developed, in which the effects of engineering disturbances on the coupling-processes were described with changes in boundary conditions and evolutions in thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) properties of the rocks. A parameter, d, which is similar to damage variables but has a broader physical meaning, was conceptually introduced to represent the degree of engineering disturbances and the couplings among the material properties. The effects of blasting excavation, bolting and grouting in rock engineering were illustrated with various field observations or theoretical results, on which the degree of disturbances and the variations in elastic moduli and permeabilities were particularly focused. The influences of excavation and groundwater drainage on the seepage flow and stability of the slopes were demonstrated with numerical simulations. The proposed approach was further employed to investigate the coupled hydro-mechanical responses of a high rock slope to excavation, bolting and impounding of the reservoir in the dam left abutment of Jinping I hydropower station. The impacts of engineering disturbances on the deformation and stability of the slope during construction and operation were demonstrated.展开更多

However, the electro-mechanical-fluidic analysis on this pump has not been done. Therefore, multi-field analysis and experimen- tal verification on piezoelectrically actuated centrifugal valveless pumps are conducted for liquid transport appli- cations. The valveless pump consists of two piezoelectric sheets and a metal tube with piezoelectric elements pushing the metal tube to swing at the first bending resonant fre- quency. The centrifugal force generated by the swinging motion will force the liquid out of the metal tube. The governing equations for the solid and fluid domains are established, and the coupling relations of the mechanical, electrical and fluid fields are described. The bending res- onant frequency and bending mode in solid domain are discussed, and the liquid flow rate, velocity profile, and gauge pressure are investigated in fluid domain. The working frequency and flow rate concerning different components sizes are analyzed and verified through experiments to guide the pump design. A fabricated pro- totype with an outer diameter of 2.2 mm and a length of 80 mm produced the largest flow rate of 13.8 mL/min at backpressure of 0.8 kPa with driving voltage of 80 Vpp. Bysolving the electro-mechanical-fluidic coupling problem, the model developed can provide theoretical guidance on the optimization of centrifugal valveless pump characters.展开更多

The phase field method is used to capture the two-phase interface. The motion and coalescence of a pair of coaxial bubbles under an external uniform electric field and the effects of different electric field strengths on the interaction and coalescence of rising bubbles are studied. The results show that the uniform electric field accelerates the collision and coalescence process of double bubbles in the fluid, and increases the rising velocity of the coalesced bubble. The electric field with an intensity of E = 2 kV/mm is reduced about 2 times compared with that without electric field in coalescence time. When the electric field strength is strong(E ≥ 1 kV/mm), the coalesced bubble will rupture before it rises to the top of the calculation area, and the time of the bubble rupturing also decreases with the increase of the electric field strength. The phase field method is compared with the simulation results of Lattice Boltzmann Method(LBM), and the shape of bubble obtained by the two methods is in good agreement, which verifies the correctness of the calculation model.展开更多

Mechanism of “diversified” oil displacement which is obtained by traditional study methods in the exploitation territory of oil and gas fields has both respective roles and mutual cross shortages. To describe and analyze the displacement process of multi-field coupling with exergy transfer can simplify this kind of problem by introducing a unified goal-driving exergy. It needs to use the method of theoretical modeling, numerical simulation and experimental validation to study the basic law of exergy transfer in the oil displacement process of multi-field synergy, make a thorough research for the flooding process of steam injection with exergy transfer theory and reveal the oil displacement mechanism in steam injection of multi-field synergy. Multi-behavior fusion based potential field method is proposed, which contains three behaviors: goal-seeking, boundary-memory following and dynamic-obstacle avoidance. Then, different activation conditions are designed to determine the current behavior. Meanwhile, information on the positions, velocities and the equation of motion for obstacles are detected and calculated by sensor data. Besides, memory information is introduced into the boundary following behavior to enhance cognition capability for the obstacles, and avoid local minima problem caused by the potential field method. Finally, the results of theoretical analysis and simulation show that the collision-free path can be generated for USV within different obstacle environments, and further validated the performance and effectiveness of the presented strategy.展开更多

Predator agents are applied algorithms that use the univector field method to reach the prey agent, strategies for avoiding obstacles and strategies for cooperation between predator agents. Obstacle avoidance strategies are generalized and presented through strategies called hitting and following boundary(HFB); trapped and following shortest path(TFSP); and predicted and following shortest path(PFSP). This study investigated how working memory was encoded by the power of multichannel local field potentials (LFPs) based on sparse non negative matrix factorization (SNMF). SNMF was used to extract features from LFPs recorded from the prefrontal cortex of four SpragueDawley rats during a memory task in a Y maze, with 10 trials for each rat. Then the powerincreased LFP components were selected as working memoryrelated features and the other components were removed. After that, the inverse operation of SNMF was used to study the encoding of working memory in the time frequency domain. We demonstrated that theta and gamma power increased significantly during the working memory task. The results suggested that postsynaptic activity was simulated well by the sparse activity model. The theta and gamma bands were meaningful for encoding working memory.展开更多

Results showed that the range of 80 ℃ welding temperature field increased with the increasing of weld layers at first and then it inclined to stable value. Interpass time setting was crucial to control the range of 80 ℃ welding temperature field. We were interested in dose differences of the Varian Eclipse treatment planning system (TPS) and the fast dose calculation method (FDC) for single-field optimization (SFO) and multi-field optimization (MFO) IMPT plans. In addition, because some authors have reported dosimetric benefit of a proton arc therapy with ultimate multi-fields in recent years, we wanted to evaluate how the number of fields and beam angles affect the differences for IMPT plans. Therefore, for one brain cancer patient with a large heterogeneity, SFO and MFO IMPT plans with various multi-angle beams were planned by the TPS. Dose distributions for each IMPT plan were calculated by both the TPS’s conventional pencil beam algorithm and the FDC. The dosimetric parameters were compared between the two algorithms. The TPS overestimated 400 - 500 cGy (RBE) for minimum dose to the CTV relative to the dose calculated by the FDC. These differences indicate clinically relevant effect on clinical results. In addition, we observed that the maximum difference in dose calculated between the TPS and the FDC was about 900 cGy (RBE) for the right optic nerve, and this quantity also has a possibility to have a clinical effect. The major difference was not seen in calculations for SFO IMPT planning and those for MFO IMPT planning. Differences between the TPS and the FDC in SFO and MFO IMPT plans depend strongly on beam arrangement and the presence of a heterogeneous body. We advocate use of a Monte Carlo method in proton treatment planning to deliver the most precise proton dose in IMPT.展开更多

文摘Steam injection is a most effective way for improving heavy oil recovery efficiency, and it has academic and practical significance for the mechanism of multi-field synergy oil displacement. Thus the theory instruction and technical support can be provided to improve reservoirs producing degree and extraction ratio.

文摘The problem of the unmanned surface vessel (USV) path planning in static and dynamic obstacle environments is addressed in this paper. Finally, the results of theoretical analysis and simulation show that the collision-free path can be generated for USV within different obstacle environments, and further validated the performance and effectiveness of the presented strategy.

文摘The pursuit problem is a well-known problem in computer science. In this problem, a group of predator agents attempt to capture a prey agent in an environment with various obstacle types, partial observation, and an infinite grid-world. In terms of cooperation, cooperation strategies are employed to more quickly reach and capture the prey agent. Experimental results are shown to illustrate the efficiency of the method in the pursuit problem.

文摘Working memory plays an important role in human cognition. The theta and gamma bands were meaningful for encoding working memory.

文摘Nonlinear stability of sensor elastic element- corrugated shallow spherical shell in coupled multi-field is studied. With the equivalent orthotropic parameter obtairled by the author, the corrugated shallow spherical shell is considered as an orthotropic shallow spherical shell, and geometrical nonlinearity and transverse shear deformation are taken into account. Nonlinear governing equations are obtained. The critical load is obtained using a modified iteration method. The effect of temperature variation and shear rigidity variation on stability is analyzed.

文摘The PPG PITT-CHAR XP flame retardant system has been used by COOEC to preventing the thermal softening of steel in the high temperature, whose degradation temperature is 80 ℃.To prevent damage to PPG PITT-CHAR XP fire retardant paint from excessive heat during welding,it is necessary to get accurately reserved area near the welding joints prior to welding. For the foregoing reasons, the 80 ℃ temperature field distribution of thick plate multi-pass welding was analyzed with SYSWELD.The influence of welding groove form and time interval on welding temperature field was also analyzed. Results showed that the range of 80 ℃ welding temperature field increased with the increasing of weld layers at first and then it inclined to stable value. Interpass time setting was crucial to control the range of 80 ℃ welding temperature field. It was also found that double V groove had better thermal diffusivity than double-bevel groove. And double-bevel groove was better than single V groove.

文摘The accurate theoretical expressions of the mean field operator associated with the multi-configuration time-dependent Hartree-Fock (MCTDHF) method are presented in this paper. By using a theoretical formula, derived without approxima- tion, we can study the multi-electron correlation dynamics accurately. Some illustrative calculations are carried out to check the accuracy of the expression of the mean field operator. The results of illustrative calculations indicate the reliability of the accurate expression of the mean field operator. This theoretical calculation method for the mean field operator may be of considerable help in future studies of the correlated dynamics of many-electron systems in strong laser fields.
文摘The purpose of this study was to grasp current potential problems of dose error in intensity-modulated proton therapy (IMPT) plans. We advocate use of a Monte Carlo method in proton treatment planning to deliver the most precise proton dose in IMPT.
