In the MPSO algorithm, a swarm of particles known as the set of ATAs is available; the fitness function is defined as the total number of the served MSs; and the evolution velocity corresponds to the ATAs adjustment scale for each iteration cycle. Simulation results showthat compared with the fixed ATA, the number of served MSs by e NBs is significantly increased by 7. 2%, the quality of the received signal is considerably improved by 20 d Bm, and, particularly, the system throughput is also effectively increased by 55 Mbit / s.展开更多

In ...Due to the NP-hardness of the two-sided assembly line balancing (TALB) problem, multiple constraints existing in real applications are less studied, especially when one task is involved with several constraints. In this paper, an effective hybrid algorithm is proposed to address the TALB problem with multiple constraints (TALB-MC). Considering the discrete attribute of TALB-MC and the continuous attribute of the standard teaching-learning-based optimization (TLBO) algorithm, the random-keys method is hired in task permutation representation, for the purpose of bridging the gap between them. Subsequently, a special mechanism for handling multiple constraints is developed. In the mechanism, the directions constraint of each task is ensured by the direction check and adjustment. The zoning constraints and the synchronism constraints are satisfied by teasing out the hidden correlations among constraints. The positional constraint is allowed to be violated to some extent in decoding and punished in cost fimction. Finally, with the TLBO seeking for the global optimum, the variable neighborhood search (VNS) is further hybridized to extend the local search space. The experimental results show that the proposed hybrid algorithm outperforms the late acceptance hill-climbing algorithm (LAHC) for TALB-MC in most cases, especially for large-size problems with multiple constraints, and demonstrates well balance between the exploration and the exploitation. This research proposes an effective and efficient algorithm for solving TALB-MC problem by hybridizing the TLBO and VNS.展开更多

The Lagrange function contains the penalty terms on equality and inequality constraints and the methods can be applied to solve a series of bound constrained sub-problems instead of a series of unconstrained sub-problems. The steps of the methods are examined in full detail. Numerical experiments are made for a variety of problems, from small to very large-scale, which show the stability and effectiveness of the methods in large-scale problems.展开更多

The semi-coke from the coal industry was suitably modified by treating it with phosphoric acid, with a thermal activation process. The objective of the process optimization is to reduce the chemical oxygen demand (COD) and NH4+-N in the methyltin mercaptide industrial effluent. The process variables considered for process optimization are the semi-coke dosage, adsorption time and effluent pH. The optimized process conditions are identified to be a semi-coke dosage of 80 g/L, adsorption time of 90 min and a pH value of 8.34. The ANOVA results indicate that the adsorbent dosage and pH are the significant parameters, while the adsorption time is insignificant, possibly owing to the large range of adsorption time chosen. The textural characteristics of modified semi-coke were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy and nitrogen adsorption isotherm. The average BET surface area of modified semi-coke is estimated to be 915 mE/g, with the average pore volume of 0.71 cm3/g and a average pore diameter of 3.09 nm, with micropore volume contributing to 52.36%.展开更多

First, through parameterizing the control steering angles by costate variables, the search space of free parameters has been decreased. Then, in order to obtain the global optimal solution effectively and robustly, the simulated annealing and penalty function strategies were used to handle the constraints, and a GA/SQP hybrid optimization algorithm was utilized to solve the parameter optimization problem, in which, a feasible suboptimal solution obtained by GA was submitted as an initial parameter set to SQP for refinement. Comparing to the classical direct method, this novel method has fewer free parameters, needs not initial guesses, and has higher computation precision. An optimal-fuel transfer problem from LEO to GEO was taken as an example to validate the proposed approach. The results of simulation indicate that our approach is available to solve the problem of optimal muhi-revolution transfer between Earth-orbits.展开更多

文摘In order to solve the challenging coverage problem that the long term evolution( LTE) networks are facing, a coverage optimization scheme by adjusting the antenna tilt angle( ATA) of evolved Node B( e NB) is proposed based on the modified particle swarm optimization( MPSO) algorithm. The number of mobile stations( MSs) served by e NBs, which is obtained based on the reference signal received power(RSRP) measured from the MS, is used as the metric for coverage optimization, and the coverage problem is optimized by maximizing the number of served MSs. In the MPSO algorithm, a swarm of particles known as the set of ATAs is available; the fitness function is defined as the total number of the served MSs; and the evolution velocity corresponds to the ATAs adjustment scale for each iteration cycle. Simulation results showthat compared with the fixed ATA, the number of served MSs by e NBs is significantly increased by 7. 2%, the quality of the received signal is considerably improved by 20 d Bm, and, particularly, the system throughput is also effectively increased by 55 Mbit / s.

文摘As threats of landslide hazards have become gradually more severe in recent decades, studies on landslide prevention and mitigation have attracted widespread attention in relevant domains.A hot research topic has been the ability to predict landslide susceptibility, which can be used to design schemes of land exploitation and urban development in mountainous areas. In this study, the teaching-learning-based optimization(TLBO)and satin bowerbird optimizer(SBO)algorithms were applied to optimize the adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system(ANFIS)model for landslide susceptibility mapping. In the study area,152 landslides were identified and randomly divided into two groups as training(70%)and validation(30%)dataset.Additionally,a total of fifteen landslide influencing factors were selected. The relative importance and weights of various influencing factors were determined using the step-wise weight assessment ratio analysis(SWARA)method. Finally, the comprehensive performance of the two models was validated and compared using various indexes, such as the root mean square error(RMSE),processing time, convergence, and area under receiver operating characteristic curves(AUROC).The results demonstrated that the AUROC values of the ANFIS,ANFIS-TLBO and ANFIS-SBO models with the training data were 0.808,0.785 and 0.755,respectively.In terms of the validation dataset, the ANFISSBO model exhibited a higher AUROC value of 0.781,while the AUROC value of the ANFIS-TLBO and ANFIS models were 0.749 and 0.681,respectively.Moreover,the ANFIS-SBO model showed lower RMSE values for the validation dataset, indicating that the SBO algorithm had a better optimization capability.Meanwhile, the processing time and convergence of the ANFIS-SBO model were far superior to those of the ANFIS-TLBO model. Therefore, both the ensemble models proposed in this paper can generate adequate results, and the ANFIS-SBO model is recommended as the more suitable model for landslide susceptibility assessment in the study area considered due to its excellent accuracy and efficiency.

文摘Due to the NP-hardness of the two-sided assembly line balancing (TALB) problem, multiple constraints existing in real applications are less studied, especially when one task is involved with several constraints. This research proposes an effective and efficient algorithm for solving TALB-MC problem by hybridizing the TLBO and VNS.

文摘The stiffness spreading method (SSM) was initially proposed for layout optimization of truss structures,in which an artificial elastic material of low modulus is uniformly distributed in the design domain to create connections between discrete members. In this paper,a modified stiffness spreading method is proposed by replacing the artificial elastic material with auxiliary bars to connect real members of the truss structure.Since the background continuum mesh for the elastic material is no longer required, the computational cost is significantly reduced.Like SSM,the new method is advantageous in that an initial design may consist of disconnected bars allocated in the design domain, and mathematical programming methods can be applied for the efficient solution of the formulated optimization problem.A number of solution strategies are also developed to achieve more practical designs with lower computational cost.Numerical examples of both 2-D and 3-D truss structures are presented to demonstrate the feasibility, robustness and effectiveness of the proposed method.
文摘Chemical process optimization can be described as large-scale nonlinear constrained minimization. The modified augmented Lagrange multiplier methods (MALMM) for large-scale nonlinear constrained minimization are studied in this paper. The Lagrange function contains the penalty terms on equality and inequality constraints and the methods can be applied to solve a series of bound constrained sub-problems instead of a series of unconstrained sub-problems. The steps of the methods are examined in full detail. Numerical experiments are made for a variety of problems, from small to very large-scale, which show the stability and effectiveness of the methods in large-scale problems.

文摘The central composite process optimization was performed by response surface methodology technique using a design for the treatment of methyltin mercaptide with modified semi-coke. The average BET surface area of modified semi-coke is estimated to be 915 mE/g, with the average pore volume of 0.71 cm3/g and a average pore diameter of 3.09 nm, with micropore volume contributing to 52.36%.

文摘An improved teaching-learning-based optimization(I-TLBO)algorithm is proposed to adjust the parameters of extreme learning machine with parallel layer perception(PELM),and a well-generalized I-TLBO-PELM model is obtained to build the model of NOX emissions of a boiler. In the I-TLBO algorithm, there are four major highlights.Firstly,a quantum initialized population by using the qubits on Bloch sphere replaces a randomly initialized population.Secondly, two kinds of angles in Bloch sphere are generated by using cube chaos mapping.Thirdly,an adaptive control parameter is added into the teacher phase to speed up the convergent speed. And then, according to actual teaching-learning phenomenon of a classroom, students learn some knowledge not only by their teacher and classmates, but also by themselves. Therefore,a self-study strategy by using Gauss mutation is introduced after the learning phase to improve the exploration ability. Finally,we test the performance of the I-TLBO-PELM model. The experiment results show that the proposed model has better regression precision and generalization ability than eight other models.

文摘A modified direct optimization method is proposed to solve the optimal multi-revolution transfer with low-thrust between Earth-orbits. The results of simulation indicate that our approach is available to solve the problem of optimal muhi-revolution transfer between Earth-orbits.
文摘In Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs),Clustering process is widely utilized for increasing the lifespan with sustained energy stability during data transmission.Several clustering protocols were devised for extending network lifetime, but most of them failed in handling the problem of fixed clustering, static rounds, and inadequate Cluster Head(CH)selection criteria which consumes more energy. In this paper,Stochastic Ranking Improved Teaching-Learning and Adaptive Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm(SRITL-AGOA)-based Clustering Scheme for energy stabilization and extending network lifespan. This SRITL-AGOA selected CH depending on the weightage of factors such as node mobility degree, neighbour's density distance to sink,single-hop or multihop communication and Residual Energy(RE)that directly influences the energy consumption of sensor nodes. In specific,Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm(GOA)is improved through tangent-based nonlinear strategy for enhancing the ability of global optimization. On the other hand, stochastic ranking and violation constraint handling strategies are embedded into Teaching-Learning-based Optimization Algorithm(TLOA)for improving its exploitation tendencies. Then,SR and VCH improved TLOA is embedded into the exploitation phase of AGOA for selecting better CH by maintaining better balance amid exploration and exploitation.Simulation results confirmed that the proposed SRITL-AGOA improved throughput by 21.86%,network stability by 18.94%,load balancing by 16.14%with minimized energy depletion by19.21%,compared to the competitive CH selection approaches.
文摘In this work,we propose a real proportional-integral-derivative plus second-order derivative(PIDD2)controller as an efficient controller for vehicle cruise control systems to address the challenging issues related to efficient operation. In this regard, this paper is the first report in the literature demonstrating the implementation of a real PIDD2 controller for controlling the respective system. We construct a novel and efficient metaheuristic algorithm by improving the performance of the Aquila Optimizer via chaotic local search and modified opposition-based learning strategies and use it as an excellently performing tuning mechanism. We also propose a simple yet effective objective function to increase the performance of the proposed algorithm(CmOBL-AO)to adjust the real PIDD2 controller's parameters effectively. We show the CmOBL-AO algorithm to perform better than the differential evolution algorithm, gravitational search algorithm,African vultures optimization, and the Aquila Optimizer using well-known unimodal, multimodal benchmark functions.CEC2019 test suite is also used to perform ablation experiments to reveal the separate contributions of chaotic local search and modified opposition-based learning strategies to the CmOBL-AO algorithm. For the vehicle cruise control system,we confirm the more excellent performance of the proposed method against particle swarm, gray wolf, salp swarm, and original Aquila optimizers using statistical,Wilcoxon signed-rank,time response, robustness, and disturbance rejection analyses. We also use fourteen reported methods in the literature for the vehicle cruise control system to further verify the more promising performance of the CmOBL-AO-based real PIDD2 controller from a wider perspective. The excellent performance of the proposed method is also illustrated through different quality indicators and different operating speeds.Lastly,we also demonstrate the good performing capability of the CmOBL-AO algorithm for real traffic cases. We show the CmOBL-AO-based real PIDD2 controller as the most efficient method to control a vehicle cruise control system.

文摘In the paper, the optimal self-scaling strategy to the modified symmetric rank one (HSR1) update, which satisfies the modified quasi-Newton equation, is derived to improve the condition number of the updates. The scaling factors are derived from minimizing the estimate of upper bounds on the condition number of the updating matrix. Theoretical analysis, and numerical experiments and comparisons show that introducing the optimal scaling factor into the modified symmetric rank one update preserves the positive definiteness of updates, and greatly improves the stability and numerical performance of the modified symmetric rank one algorithm.
