A dynamic model of a remotely operated vehicle(ROV)is developed.The hydrodynamic damping coefficients are estimated using a semi-predictive approach and computational fluid dynamic software ANSYS-CFX?and WAMIT?.A sliding-mode controller(SMC)is then designed for the ROV model.The controller is subsequently robustified against modeling uncertainties,disturbances,and measurement errors.It is shown that when the system is subjected to bounded uncertainties,the SMC will preserve stability and tracking response.The paper ends with simulation results for a variety of conditions such as disturbances and parametric uncertainties. 展开更多

LADRC method referring to the integral chain model:design of dual-loop disturbance compensation and engineering verification

To address the issue of disturbance compensation deviation in linear active disturbance rejection control(LADRC),a linear active disturbance rejection control method with reference to the integral chain model(LADRC-R)is proposed.By constructing an ideal control reference model,a dynamic correlation between output deviation and uncompensated disturbances is established,and a dual-loop compensation mechanism is designed.Based on theoretical analysis and frequency-domain characteristics of typical first/second-order systems,this method maintains the parameter-tuning advantages of LADRC while reducing disturbance effects by 50%and introducing no phase lag during low-frequency disturbance suppression.Simulations on second-order systems verify its robustness under parameter perturbations,gain mismatch,and complex disturbances,and an optimized design scheme for the deviation compensator is proposed to suppress discontinuous measurement noise interference.Finally,the engineering effectiveness of this method in precision motion control is validated on an electromagnetic suspension platform,providing a new approach to improving the control performance of LADRC in environments with uncertain disturbances. 展开更多

This paper considers the problem of robust disturbance attenuation for a class of uncertain nonlinear networked control systems. Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy models are firstly employed to describe the nonlinear plant. Markov processes are used to model the random network-induced delays and data packet dropouts. The Lyapunov-Razumikhin method has been used to derive such a controller for this class of nonlinear systems such that it is stochastically stabilizable with a disturbance attenuation level. Sufficient conditions for the existence of such a controller are derived in terms of the solvability of bilinear matrix inequalities. An iterative algorithm is proposed to change this non-convex problem into quasi-convex optimization problems, which can be solved effectively by available mathematical tools. The effectiveness of the proposed design methodology is verified by a numerical example. 展开更多

This research concerns a novel attitude stabilization structure for a ducted-fan aerial robot to work against modeling error and strong external transient disturbance,and it focuses on two main control targets:modeling error compensation,and the improvement of disturbance resistance along the rolling channel.For the first research objective,we proposed an adaptive nominal controller with the reconfigurable control law design based on the estimation of the modeling error found in the closed-loop.Results of simulations and corresponding flight tests verified that the proposed adaptive control structure is robust against both constant and time-varying modeling error.For the other research objective,a SAC(Stability Augmentation Control)structure was devised based on the CMG(Control Moment Gyroscope)theory in order to provide extra moment which effectively withstands the transient disturbance beyond the CDG(Critical Disturbance Gain).Furthermore,we studied the corresponding controller for the SAC via the SMC(sliding mode control)theory,while the working mechanism and performance of the SAC were verified through a specially devised prototype. 展开更多

Because of vehicle's external disturbances and model uncertainties,robust control algorithms have obtained popularity in vehicle stability control.The robust control usually gives up performance in order to guarantee the robustness of the control algorithm,therefore an improved robust internal model control(IMC) algorithm blending model tracking and internal model control is put forward for active steering system in order to reach high performance of yaw rate tracking with certain robustness.The proposed algorithm inherits the good model tracking ability of the IMC control and guarantees robustness to model uncertainties.In order to separate the design process of model tracking from the robustness design process,the improved 2 degree of freedom(DOF) robust internal model controller structure is given from the standard Youla parameterization.Simulations of double lane change maneuver and those of crosswind disturbances are conducted for evaluating the robust control algorithm,on the basis of a nonlinear vehicle simulation model with a magic tyre model.Results show that the established 2-DOF robust IMC method has better model tracking ability and a guaranteed level of robustness and robust performance,which can enhance the vehicle stability and handling,regardless of variations of the vehicle model parameters and the external crosswind interferences.Contradiction between performance and robustness of active steering control algorithm is solved and higher control performance with certain robustness to model uncertainties is obtained. 展开更多

This paper focuses on the robust attitude control of a novel coaxial eight-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) which has higher drive capability as well as greater robustness against disturbances than quad-rotor UAV. The dynamical and kinematical model for the coaxial eight-rotor UAV is developed, which has never been proposed before. A robust backstepping sliding mode controller (BSMC) with adaptive radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is proposed to control the attitude of the eightrotor UAV in the presence of model uncertainties and external disturbances. The combinative method of backstepping control and sliding mode control has improved robustness and simplified design procedure benefiting from the advantages of both controllers. The adaptive RBFNN as the uncertainty observer can effectively estimate the lumped uncertainties without the knowledge of their bounds for the eight-rotor UAV. Additionally, the adaptive learning algorithm, which can learn the parameters of RBFNN online and compensate the approximation error, is derived using Lyapunov stability theorem. And then the uniformly ultimate stability of the eight-rotor system is proved. The active anti-interference concept is introduced into the internal model control(IMC) by analyzing the relationship between IMC and disturbance observer control(DOB). Further, a design process of disturbance filter is presented to realize the active anti-interference ability for ADRIMC scheme. The disturbance filter is used to estimate an equivalent disturbance consisting of both external disturbances and internal disturbances caused by model mismatches.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method possesses a good disturbance rejection performance, though losing some partial dynamic performance. A winding system is a time-varying system that considers complex nonlinear characteristics,and how to control the stability of the winding tension during the winding process is the primary problem that has hindered development in this field in recent years.Many nonlinear factors affect the tension in the winding process,such as friction,structured uncertainties,unstructured uncertainties,and external interference.These terms severely restrict the tension tracking performance.Existing tension control strategies are mainly based on the composite control of the tension and speed loops,and previous studies involve complex decoupling operations.Owing to the large number of calculations required for this method,it is inconvenient for practical engineering applications.To simplify the tension generation mechanism and the influence of the nonlinear characteristics of the winding system,a simpler nonlinear dynamic model of the winding tension was established.An adaptive method was applied to update the feedback gain of the continuous robust integral of the sign of the error(RISE).Furthermore,an extended state observer was used to estimate modeling errors and external disturbances.The model disturbance term can be compensated for in the designed RISE controller.The asymptotic stability of the system was proven according to the Lyapunov stability theory.Finally,a comparative analysis of the proposed nonlinear controller and several other controllers was performed.The results indicated that the control of the winding tension was significantly enhanced. 展开更多

A Robust Conformer-Based Speech Recognition Model for Mandarin Air Traffic Control

This study aims to address the deviation in downstream tasks caused by inaccurate recognition results when applying Automatic Speech Recognition(ASR)technology in the Air Traffic Control(ATC)field.This paper presents a novel cascaded model architecture,namely Conformer-CTC/Attention-T5(CCAT),to build a highly accurate and robust ATC speech recognition model.To tackle the challenges posed by noise and fast speech rate in ATC,the Conformer model is employed to extract robust and discriminative speech representations from raw waveforms.On the decoding side,the Attention mechanism is integrated to facilitate precise alignment between input features and output characters.The Text-To-Text Transfer Transformer(T5)language model is also introduced to handle particular pronunciations and code-mixing issues,providing more accurate and concise textual output for downstream tasks.To enhance the model’s robustness,transfer learning and data augmentation techniques are utilized in the training strategy.The model’s performance is optimized by performing hyperparameter tunings,such as adjusting the number of attention heads,encoder layers,and the weights of the loss function.The experimental results demonstrate the significant contributions of data augmentation,hyperparameter tuning,and error correction models to the overall model performance.On the Our ATC Corpus dataset,the proposed model achieves a Character Error Rate(CER)of 3.44%,representing a 3.64%improvement compared to the baseline model.Moreover,the effectiveness of the proposed model is validated on two publicly available datasets.On the AISHELL-1 dataset,the CCAT model achieves a CER of 3.42%,showcasing a 1.23%improvement over the baseline model.Similarly,on the LibriSpeech dataset,the CCAT model achieves a Word Error Rate(WER)of 5.27%,demonstrating a performance improvement of 7.67%compared to the baseline model.Additionally,this paper proposes an evaluation criterion for assessing the robustness of ATC speech recognition systems.In robustness evaluation experiments based on this criterion,the proposed model demonstrates a performance improvement of 22%compared to the baseline model. 展开更多

A compound controller is proposed to alleviate the considerable chattering in output of zero phase error tracking controller (ZPETC), when the flight simulator losses command data of simulation signal. Besides, the shortcomings, caused by conventional differential methods in retrieving velocity and acceleration signals, are avoided to a certain extent. The compound controller based on disturbance observer (DOB) is composed of a feed-forward controller and a feedback controller. It estimates velocity and acceleration of unknown tracking signal, and also velocity response with an approximate method for differential. The experiments on a single-axis flight simulator show that the proposed method has strong robustness against parameter perturbations and external disturbances, owing to the introduced DOB. Compared with the scheme with ZPETC, the proposed scheme possesses more simple design and better tracking performance. Moreover, it is less sensitive to position command distortion of flight simulator. 展开更多

In this paper, a continuous sliding mode controller with disturbance observer is proposed for the tracking control of hypersonic vehicles to suppress the chattering. The finite time disturbance observer is involved to make that the continuous sliding mode controller has the property of disturbance rejection. Due to continuous terms replacing the discontinuous term of traditional sliding mode control, switching modes of velocity and altitude firstly arrive at small regions with respect to disturbance observation errors. Switching modes keep zero and velocity and altitude asymptotically converge to their reference commands after disturbance observation errors disappear. Simulation results have proved the proposed method can guarantee the tracking of velocity and altitude with continuous sliding mode control laws, and also has the fast convergence rate and robustness. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation. 展开更多

This work deals with the nonlinear control of a marine diesel engine by use of a robust intelligent control strategy based on cerebellar model articulation controller (CMAC). A mathematical model of diesel engine propulsion system is presented. In order to increase the accuracy of dynamical speed, the mathematical model of engagement process based on the law of energy conservation is proposed. Then, a robust cerebellar model articulation controller is proposed for uncertain nonlinear systems. The concept of active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) is adopted so that the proposed controller has more robustness against uncertainties. Finally, the proposed controller is applied to engine speed control system. Both the model of the diesel engine propulsion system and of the control law are validated by a virtual detailed simulation environment. The prediction capability of the model and the control efficiency are clearly shown. 展开更多

Firstly, we define a weighted sensitivity error function based on robust redesign. Then, by modifying the nominal controller to minimize the variance of the actual system performanee from the desired performance over the whole frequency range, we obtain an optimal robust design method for a class of stochastic model errors. Moreover, the result can be used to give a good prediction to the achievable average tracking performance and control energy for practical system designs. At present, there are mainly two methods to monitor the geometric deformation of the supporting structure of the pit. One is to monitor the displacements of the tops of the piles; the other is to monitor the deep displacements of the piles. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of both the top monitoring data and the deep monitoring data, a united data processing method was put forward. A model of conicoid fitting model was chosen to describe the deformation surface of the pit, and then the robust estimation was adopted to avoid the influence of the gross errors existing in the observations. It was proved effective and accurate to analyze the deformation of the monitoring surface with this method. The steps of the method were concluded in detail. 展开更多

Accurate modeling of errors is an essential part of error compensation. Base on analyzing the existing approaches of the thermal error modeling for machine tools, a new approach of regression orthogonal design is proposed, which combines the statistic theory with machine structures, surrounding condition, engineering judgements, and experience in modeling. A whole computation and analysis procedure is given. Therefore, the model got from this method are more robust and practical than those got from the present method that depends on the modeling data completely. At last more than 100 applications of CNC turning center with only one thermal error model are given. The cutting diameter variation reduces from more than 35 μm to about 12 μm with the orthogonal regression modeling and compensation of thermal error. 展开更多

The paper addresses the problem of reconciling the modern control paradigm developed by R. Kalman in the sixties of the past century, and the centenary error-based design of the proportional, integrative and derivative (PID) controllers. This is done with the help of the error loop whose stability is proved to be necessary and sufficient for the close-loop plant stability. The error loop is built by cascading the uncertain plant-to-model discrepancies (causal, parametric, initial state, neglected dynamics), which are driven by the design model output and by arbitrary bounded signals, with the control unit transfer functions. The embedded model control takes advantage of the error loop and its equations to design appropriate algorithms of the modern control theory (state predictor, control law, reference generator), which guarantee the error loop stability and performance. 为克服主动悬架系统(active suspension system,ASS)执行器时滞与外界随机输入等非线性扰动问题,减少其对高成本传感器的依赖,提出一种基于输出反馈观测器的鲁棒模型预测抗扰控制(observer-based robust model predictive anti-disturba... 为克服主动悬架系统(active suspension system,ASS)执行器时滞与外界随机输入等非线性扰动问题,减少其对高成本传感器的依赖,提出一种基于输出反馈观测器的鲁棒模型预测抗扰控制(observer-based robust model predictive anti-disturbance control,OB-RMPAC)策略。首先,建立考虑执行器时滞扰动的半车主动悬架系统动力学模型;其次,通过二次有界性条件构建可在外界随机输入扰动下精确估计ASS状态的输出反馈观测器;再次,综合应用不变集理论、线性矩阵不等式与凸优化技术,设计满足ASS多约束的鲁棒模型预测抗扰控制策略;最后,分析并证明闭环控制系统的递推可行性与鲁棒稳定性。测试结果表明,OB-RMPAC可在精确估计系统状态的基础上显著改善装配ASS车辆的动态性能。 展开更多
