This article presents an adaptive intelligent control strategy applied to a lumped-parameter evaporator model,i.e.,a simplified dynamic representation treating the evaporator as a single thermal node with uniform temperature distribution,suitable for control design due to its balance between physical fidelity and computational simplicity.The controller uses a wavelet-based neural proportional,integral,derivative(PID)controller with IIR filtering(infinite impulse response).The dynamic model captures the essential heat and mass transfer phenomena through a nonlinear energy balance,where the cooling capacity“Qevap”is expressed as a non-linear function of the compressor frequency and the temperature difference,specifically,Q_(evap)=k_(1)u(T_(in)−T_(e))with u as compressor frequency,Te evaporator temperature,and Tin inlet fluid temperature.The operating conditions of the system,in general terms,focus on the following variables,the overall thermal capacity is 1000 J/K,typical for small-capacity heat exchangers,The mass flow is 0.05 kg/s,typical for secondary liquid cooling circuits,the overall loss coefficient of 50 W/K that corresponds to small evaporators with partial insulation,the temperatures(inlet)of 10℃and the temperature of environment of 25℃,thermal load of 200 W that corresponds to a small-scaled air conditioning applications.To handle system nonlinearities and improve control performance,aMorlet wavelet-based neural network(Wavenet)is used to dynamically adjust the PID gains online.An IIR filter is incorporated to smooth the adaptive gains,improving stability and reducing oscillations.In contrast to prior wavelet-or neural-adaptive PID controllers in HVAC applications,which typically adjust gains without explicit filtering or not tailored to evaporator dynamics,this work introduces the first PID–Wavenet scheme augmented with an IIR-based stabilization layer,specifically designed to address the combined challenges of nonlinear evaporator behavior,gain oscillation,and real-time implementability.The proposed controller(PID-Wavenet+IIR)is implemented and validated inMATLAB/Simulink,demonstrating superior performance compared to a conventional PID tuned using Simulink’s auto-tuning function.Key results include a reduction in settling time from 13.3 to 8.2 s,a reduction in overshoot from 3.5%to 0.8%,a reduction in steady-state error from 0.12℃ to 0.02℃and a 13%reduction in energy overall consumption.The controller also exhibits greater robustness and adaptability under varying thermal loads.This explicit integration of wavelet-driven adaptation with IIR-filtered gain shaping constitutes the main methodological contribution and novelty of the work.These findings validate the effectiveness of the wavelet-based adaptive approach for advanced thermal management in refrigeration and HVAC systems,with potential applications in controlling variable-speed compressors,liquid chillers,and compact cooling units. 展开更多

The application of plant measurement data for system identification and model predictive control(MPC)has garnered significant interest.However,the pervasive presence of noise and contamination in industrial data often compromises data quality,thereby degrading performance and reliability of model.To address this challenge,this study proposes a nonlinear MPC method based on robust time delay particle filtering(RPF-MPC).This method is specifically designed to mitigate the impact of stochastic time delays and noise on both model learning and control.RPF-MPC utilizes robust particle filtering with a Laplace distribution to reliably estimate parameters and unknown time delays.In this way,the controller is able to efficiently handle noise and outliers even when the data deviates from a Gaussian distribution.The proposed algorithm is presented in detail,a nonlinear numerical case and a fuel cell water cooling control case are presented to validate the effectiveness of the RPF-MPC method.Simulation results validate the effectiveness and robustness of the RPF-MPC method in handling uncertainty and improving control performance in the PEMFC process. 展开更多

In fault identification, the Strong Tracking Filter (STF) has strong ability to track the change of some parameters by whitening filtering innovation. In this paper, the authors give out a modified STF by searching the fading factor based on the Least Squared Estimation. In hybrid estimation, the well known Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) Technique can model the change of the system modes. So one can design a new adaptive filter — SIMM. In this filter, our modified STF is a parameter adaptive part and IMM is a mode adaptive part. The benefit of the new filter is that the number of models can be reduced considerably. The simulations show that SIMM greatly improves accuracy of velocity and acceleration compared with the standard IMM to track the maneuvering target when 2 model conditional estimators are used in both filters. And the computation burden of SIMM increases only 6% compared with IMM. 展开更多

Understanding plant community assembly is crucial for effective ecosystem conservation and restoration.The ecological filter framework describes community assembly as a process shaped by dispersal,environmental,and biotic filters.Additionally,functional traits and phylogenetic relationships are increasingly recognized as important factors influencing species coexistence and community structure.However,both the ecological filter framework and the roles of functional traits and phylogeny in community assembly remain underexplored in the Algerian steppes—particularly in the El Bayadh region,where ongoing vegetation degradation threatens ecosystem stability.This study applied Hierarchical Modeling of Species Communities(HMSC)as an integrative approach to assess how ecological filters influence plant community assembly in the El Bayadh steppe and to evaluate the roles of functional traits and phylogenetic relationships in this process.Environmental data—including soil properties,topography,precipitation,and land use types(grazing and exclosure)—were collected across 50 plots in April and October,2023,along with functional traits from 24 species.These traits include root length,leaf area,specific leaf area,clonality,life history,and seed mass.HMSC results revealed that soil properties and precipitation were the primary drivers of community structure,while sand height and elevation had a moderate influence.In contrast,competition and grazing played relatively minor roles.Species responses to environmental covariates were heterogeneous:soil fertility and texture had mixed effects,benefiting some species while limiting others;sand encroachment and precipitation variability generally had negative impacts,whereas grazing exclusion favored many species.A weak phylogenetic signal was recorded,indicating that community assembly was driven more by environmental filtering than by shared evolutionary history.Functional trait responses to environmental variation reflected plant strategies that balanced resource acquisition and conservation.Specifically,seed mass,leaf area,and root length increased under higher soil moisture and nutrient availability but declined in response to salinity,precipitation variability,and sand height.Clonality and perennial life history traits enhanced the survival of plant species under harsh conditions.Overall,this study provides a holistic understanding of community assembly processes in the El Bayadh steppe and offers valuable insights for ecosystem management and restoration in arid and degraded ecosystem environments. 展开更多

The work proposes a distributed Kalman filtering(KF)algorithm to track a time-varying unknown signal process for a stochastic regression model over network systems in a cooperative way.We provide the stability analysis of the proposed distributed KF algorithm without independent and stationary signal assumptions,which implies that the theoretical results are able to be applied to stochastic feedback systems.Note that the main difficulty of stability analysis lies in analyzing the properties of the product of non-independent and non-stationary random matrices involved in the error equation.We employ analysis techniques such as stochastic Lyapunov function,stability theory of stochastic systems,and algebraic graph theory to deal with the above issue.The stochastic spatio-temporal cooperative information condition shows the cooperative property of multiple sensors that even though any local sensor cannot track the time-varying unknown signal,the distributed KF algorithm can be utilized to finish the filtering task in a cooperative way.At last,we illustrate the property of the proposed distributed KF algorithm by a simulation example. 展开更多

To address the problem that a general augmented state Kalman filter or a two-stage Kalman filter cannot achieve satisfactory positioning performance when facing uncertain noise of the micro-electro-mechanical system(MEMS) inertial sensors, a novel interacting multiple model-based two-stage Kalman filter(IMM-TSKF) is proposed to adapt to the uncertain inertial sensor noise. Three bias filters are developed based on different noise characteristics to cover a wide range of noise levels. Then, an accurate estimation of biases is calculated by the interacting multiple model algorithm to correct the bias-free filter. Thus, the vehicle positioning system can achieve good performance when suffering from uncertain inertial sensor noise. The experimental results indicate that the average position error of the proposed IMMTSKF is 25% lower than that of the general TSKF. 展开更多

Two problems were solved: firstly, because the GPS real-time deformation series with a high sampling rate contain coloured noise, the multiple Kalman filter model requires the white noise, and the multiple Kalman filters model is augmented by a shaping filter in order to reduce the colored noise; secondly, the multiple Kalman filters model with shaping filter can detect the deformation epoch in real-time and improve the quality of GPS measurements for the real-time deformation applications. Based on the comparisons of the applications in different GPS time series with different models, the advantages of the proposed model were illustrated. The proposed model can reduce the colored noise, detect the smaller changes, and improve the precision of the detected deformation epoch. 展开更多

After transforming the preprocessed results into the trained input and the desired output of neural network,BPNN with the learning rate and the momentum term is further utilized to identify the ESG bias. In order to enhance the capability of tracking targets autonomously of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the partially observable Markov decision process (POMDP) model for UAV path planning is established based on the POMDP framework. The elements of the POMDP model are analyzed and described. The state transfer law in the model can be described by the method of interactive multiple model (IMM) due to the diversity of the target motion law, which is used to switch the motion model to accommodate target maneuvers, and hence improving the tracking accuracy. The simulation results show that the model can achieve efficient planning for the UAV route, and effective tracking for the target. Furthermore, the path planned by this model is more reasonable and efficient than that by using the single state transition law. 展开更多

In order to track ground moving target, a variable structure interacting multiple model (VS-IMM) using mean shift unscented particle filter (MS-UPF) is proposed in this paper. In model-conditioned filtering, sample particles obtained from the unscented particle filter are moved towards the maximal posterior density estimation of the target state through mean shift. On the basis of stop model in VS-IMM, hide model is proposed. Once the target is obscured by terrain, the prediction at prior time is used instead of the measurement at posterior time; in addition, the road model set used is not changed. A ground moving target indication (GMTI) radar is employed in three common simulation scenarios of ground target: entering or leaving a road, crossing a junction and no measurement. Two evaluation indexes, root mean square error (RMSE) and average normalized estimation error squared (ANEES), are used. The results indicate that when the road on which the target moving changes, the tracking accuracy is effectively improved in the proposed algorithm. Moreover, track interruption could be avoided if the target is moving too slowly or masked by terrain. 展开更多

First, the date palm kernel is used to produce granular activated carbon (GAC) by a physiochemical activation process. The process involves six steps: washing, drying, crushing, sieving, carbonization, and activation. Secondly, the ability of the produced GAC to remove pollutants is examined through batch experiments of residual chlorine adsorption whereas the equilibrium isotherm experimental data are tested for the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms equations. Thirdly, the experimental and theoretical study of dynamic adsorption process and the effect of major operating parameters on dynamic adsorption are investigated. The results show that the Langmuir isotherm gives the best fitting to experimental data, which indicates that the residual chlorine adsorption can be characterized by mono layer adsorption behavior. The produced GAC has a great potential as an adsorbent for residual chlorine in water systems and it can compete favorably with the conventional adsorbents. The Thomas extended model with combined mass transfer resistances is used for verifying the experimental results and the results show that the proposed model coincides well with the experimental data of the dynamic adsorption process. 展开更多

However,with the development of E-commerce,the difficulties of the extreme sparsity of user rating data have become more and more severe. Based on the traditional similarity measuring methods,we introduce the cloud model and combine it with the item-based collaborative filtering recommendation algorithms. The new collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm based on item and cloud model (IC-Based CF) computes the similarity de-gree between items by comparing the statistical characteristic of items. The experimental results show that this method can improve the performance of the present item-based collaborative filtering algorithm with extreme sparsity of data. 展开更多

Aiming at the problem on cooperative air-defense of surface warship formation, this paper maps the cooperative airdefense system of systems (SoS) for surface warship formation (CASoSSWF) to the biological immune system (BIS) according to the similarity of the defense mechanism and characteristics between the CASoSSWF and the BIS, and then designs the models of components and the architecture for a monitoring agent, a regulating agent, a killer agent, a pre-warning agent and a communicating agent by making use of the theories and methods of the artificial immune system, the multi-agent system (MAS), the vaccine and the danger theory (DT). Moreover a new immune multi-agent model using vaccine based on DT (IMMUVBDT) for the cooperative air-defense SoS is advanced. The immune response and immune mechanism of the CASoSSWF are analyzed. The model has a capability of memory, evolution, commendable dynamic environment adaptability and self-learning, and embodies adequately the cooperative air-defense mechanism for the CASoSSWF. In this paper,a prediction model is developed that combines a Gaussian mixture model(GMM) and a Kalman filter for online forecasting of traffic safety on expressways.Raw time-to-collision(TTC) samples are divided into two categories:those representing vehicles in risky situations and those in safe situations.Then,the GMM is used to model the bimodal distribution of the TTC samples,and the maximum likelihood(ML) estimation parameters of the TTC distribution are obtained using the expectation-maximization(EM) algorithm.We propose a new traffic safety indicator,named the proportion of exposure to traffic conflicts(PETTC),for assessing the risk and predicting the safety of expressway traffic.A Kalman filter is applied to forecast the short-term safety indicator,PETTC,and solves the online safety prediction problem.A dataset collected from four different expressway locations is used for performance estimation.The test results demonstrate the precision and robustness of the prediction model under different traffic conditions and using different datasets.These results could help decision-makers to improve their online traffic safety forecasting and enable the optimal operation of expressway traffic management systems. 展开更多

Conventional f-x prediction filtering methods are based on an autoregressive model. The error section is first computed as a source noise but is removed as additive noise to obtain the signal, which results in an assumption inconsistency before and after filtering. In this paper, an autoregressive, moving-average model is employed to avoid the model inconsistency. Based on the ARMA model, a noncasual prediction filter is computed and a self-deconvolved projection filter is used for estimating additive noise in order to suppress random noise. The 1-D ARMA model is also extended to the 2-D spatial domain, which is the basis for noncasual spatial prediction filtering for random noise attenuation on 3-D seismic data. Synthetic and field data processing indicate this method can suppress random noise more effectively and preserve the signal simultaneously and does much better than other conventional prediction filtering methods. 展开更多

Multirotor has been applied to many military and civilian mission scenarios. From the perspective of reliability, it is difficult to ensure that multirotors do not generate hardware and software failures or performance anomalies during the flight process. These failures and anomalies may result in mission interruptions, crashes, and even threats to the lives and property of human beings.Thus, the study of flight reliability problems of multirotors is conductive to the development of the drone industry and has theoretical significance and engineering value. This paper proposes a reliable flight performance assessment method of multirotors based on an Interacting Multiple Model Particle Filter(IMMPF) algorithm and health degree as the performance indicator. First, the multirotor is modeled by the Stochastic Hybrid System(SHS) model, and the problem of reliable flight performance assessment is formulated. In order to solve the problem, the IMMPF algorithm is presented to estimate the real-time probability distribution of hybrid state of the established SHS-based multirotor model, since it can decrease estimation errors compared with the standard interacting multiple model algorithm based on extended Kalman filter. Then, the reliable flight performance is assessed with health degree based on the estimation result. Finally, a case study of a multirotor suffering from sensor anomalies is presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

In this paper,we studied most possible blind-Doppler cases and summed them up into two types:targets' intentional tangential flying to radar and unintentional flying with large tangential speed. We proposed an interacting multiple model(IMM) particle filter which combines a constant velocity model and an acceleration model to handle maneuvering motions. We compared the IMM particle filter with a previous particle filter solution. Simulation results showed that the IMM particle filter outperforms the method in previous works in terms of tracking accuracy and continuity. 展开更多
